Okay, a journal! Now that's a good idea... When you get the cravings write write write!

I'm living in Mesa, Arizona though I was born and raised on the Big Isle of Hawai'i. I love my family and I cherish my friends. I have a beautiful six month old baby boy that my mother and father are taking care of while I get my life back on track (I am SO grateful... but I miss them all a lot.)

I've struggled with my weight all my life. It's my vice. I would get bored, lonely, angry or just plain hungry and eat and eat. In the 8th grade I reached 230 pounds... that was my heaviest. Now at 19, I'm 180 pounds and dropping. I've done just about every diet you could think of, went veggie, did tae bo, the walking, the running and weight lifting... and everything has just been working so slowly.

I've taken a new lease on life. I wan't to be a good mother and a good person. While I work on my spiritual and mental aspects I'd like to make my body function as best it can. I've read book upon book and webpage upon webpage lately all about ways to help. With the start of a portion controlled low fat Mediterranean and Asian diet mix I've felt much healthier. My body is detoxing though... and I can feel old injuries again.

I will reach my goal by 2006!!! :help: Any hints or self esteem lifts will be loved!

I think you have set a doable goal, but you haven't told us how you are ogign to do it. The most important part of losing weight is not just setting a weight goal, but a goal for every part of it. Set down in stone how you plan on chainging your diet (counting calories, low carb or whatever), but also set goals like water intake, and excrecise. It is all important when trying to changr your body. It is obvious that you already have some of the right tools, since you have already lost a good amount of weight, but without a plan its always just a dream. I am sure you can do it, goodluck and welcome to DT. I hope you find all the support you need here.

:welcome: !!!

I am proud of you for wanting to get your life back on track. Good for you on working on underlying issues. Mental/spiritual issues can affect weight, and I think if you are able to get those under control, weight control can be easy to conquer as well! I hope you find DT as uplifting and supportive as I have.

Good luck with your plans!!! :D I am here for support any time!
