Wanttolose 07-16-05, 12:24 AM Well I can't stand myself anymore.
I can't seem to get out of my self destructive habits
I am gaining more and more weight.
I really need to get on track and actually stay there.
I have no diet plan in mind. Basically I know I need to
eat less starches and less treats. Have more liquids too.
So even though it is almost bed time just for today I will not eat
any more food.
Wanttolose 07-16-05, 05:38 PM It has been a busy Saturday. Got up and went grocery shopping, had lunch then went with my mom through our city on garden tours. I got lots of walking in!!!
Foodwise probably will not be the healthiest today but the portions have been very good. I have not over indulged on anything so that is a good thing.
Breakfast
3/4 cup honeynut cheerios with 3/4 cup skim milk
Lunch
Hot dog with 1 bounty bar and crystal light
My weight was down to 142.5 this morning but will see how things go after a few days.

Sundays are always pretty quiet days here. So I didn't do alot except go to church and plan some supper.

1 pork chop, cauliflower, mashed potatoes, gravy, icecream with raspberries

Wanttolose 07-29-05, 09:44 AM I guess you are right. I should be more happy with the times I eat well and not get so bummed on the days that I don't do so well. One meal at a time.
Wanttolose 07-29-05, 07:24 PM Well I have come to the conclusion that if bread was eliminated from the face of the earth I would lose weight!!!!
It is just so darn squishy, and yummy and smells so good!!!
I know that I couldn't low carb for long but I really have to try to hide from the bread my family eats!!!
Wanttolose 07-30-05, 11:20 AM Well I managed to eat 1 1/2 cups oatmeal and one cup milk but just couldn't eat anymore than that. Will see if this makes any difference.

Today I had
Breakfast~ slimfast powder and 1 cup milk
Snack ~ orange
Lunch~ 1 cup asparagus with marg, 1 slimfast powder and 1 cup milk
Snack~ 3/4 cup cheerios, 1/2 cup milk
Supper~ 2 peanut butter and jam sandwiches on whole wheat bread (it was late and I didn't have time to cook supper for my family)
So far I have walked 10 miles

I said no when my husband wanted to take me out for icecream and said no to a piece of chocolate today.
I hope tomorrow will be as good a day as today!!!!
Wanttolose 08-03-05, 12:11 PM I weighed myself this morning and was happy to see 143.5, that is 5 pounds difference from yesterday so it must have been water retention. It is so very hot and humid here. Guess it makes a difference.

Tried on some pjs from last year and could not fit them. It is so terribly depressing.
Hey wanttolose, well at least you are nipping this in the bud before gaining anymore weight and that is great, hang in there, it will come off!
SarahAnn 08-04-05, 01:06 PM I would suggest waiting at least a week in between your "weigh-ins." Do it the same time of day each week (right when you wake up) and do it naked to there's no excuse. Also, when you are around "that time of the month" don't be too hard on yourself. There can be a 5-7 lbs difference for a week or so. It's just water so don't kill yourself over it. You are doing a great job keeping track of your walking. I had pedometer but I lost it. I should get a new one. You are doing a great job! I agree with mydiet, you are lucky to be catching this before you weigh 200+ lbs!

I however need to weigh myself daily or I will never stay on track.
It motivates me in the morning to watch what I am eating.
I have been keeping track of my walking and this is what I have accomplished the last few months.
April = 212.6 miles
May = 219.9 miles
June = 233.4 miles
July = 250.1 miles
My goal is to beat Julys miles

It would seem my new approach is working!!!!
I was really craving food yesterday.
It was hard to resist.
I am going to try to have another great day.

I know someone said it before but I think weighing yourself every day really isn't helping. The trouble is - as I'm sure you already know - that you don't get a true impression of your overall weight loss/gain if you weigh every day. Your body holds different amounts of water and food and waste at different times and this is what you're weighing. You haven't necessarily gained half a pound, you're just holding an extra half a pound of ... whatever! I'm sure that you know that you need to consume 3500 more calories than you burn off in order to gain 1 pound, and vice versa. I think a good mini-goal for you this week would be to not weigh yourself between now and next Friday. Ask someone else to look after your scales (and hide them from you) or just throw them away (and go to a leisure centre to weigh once a week). I really, really recommend you try it. I honestly think that if you give yourself a little bit of a break - and trust your body - you will start to see a difference.

Wanttolose 08-31-05, 01:20 PM Well for me I need to weigh every day to stay on track. I am an emotional eater and I find that stepping on the scale in the morning helps me to try that extra bit harder during the day. I know not everyone agrees with this but I get too far off track with my eating if I don't. I do not follow a particular diet plan so really don't pay attention to the calories I am eating. This way at least I know when I have to work a bit harder on my steps or back off of my eating.
Today I weighed myself and was 144.5 which made me happy but considering I was 138 in June depresses me at the same time.
