O.K., everybody take a look in the mirror right this very minute (with your clothes on) and tell me, this far along on your diet, what part of your body are you most happy with right now right at this moment in time!

For me, it's my butt! My waist isn't shrinking much, and I still hang over my jeans, but dang! I'm happy with what exercising is doing for my butt! That and my fingernails are growing like crazy with all this healthy eating too!

So tell me what your favorite part is and CELEBRATE IT TODAY! It is a positive and you should be happy about it!

My waist (obliques) and my chest. I happened to look in a restroom mirror this morning and noticed that my clothes don't look as bad on me as they did a month ago. Things are firming up and sucking in a bit. A BIT. :)

Isn't it awesome? And it's only going to get better from here! Congratulations, every one of you! Celebrate your hard work! Keeping your eye on the prize is one thing, but looking back at how far you have come is just as important and we all need to stop now and then, take a good look at ourselves today, and say "Dang! It's working! Woo hooo!"

Yay! Mine are definitely getting slimmer, but still have that Wisconsin Cheese look to them. Makes me think of the movie Fight Club. I should have all that cellulite vacuumed out and turn it into soap! Hee hee!
Just gotta keep plugging and it will eventually go away.

Celebrate your successes!!!!

I actually have a waist since I have lost weight, so hello I love that! My face also looks sooo much better, I have defined cheek bones and less "fat pads" in my cheeks!
This was a good idea, we don't often appreciate the good things within ourselves, it seems like everyone always just complains about the bad things. It really does make you feel better.

Congrats and good luck on continued success everyone!

Runshot4Ever, yes! It does help to keep a positive attitude and to stop and see that we are making progress. And if we take the time to see these changes, others will soon notice as well!
Look at how far we have come. Look at where we are. This will help us focus on where we want to be!

I like my shoulders, they're slim but athletic looking, and from the running I'm getting some awesome calves.

BB Kuhr
08-19-05, 10:41 AM
Lisad00, that cracked me up because I have always had "piano fingers" myself! Even when pregnant and everything else was swelling up, my wedding ring would just slide off I'm weird that way.

Jessica, I've seen your "After" pictures. You should feel free to be raving about EVERYTHING about your body in this thread! You look so fantastic!

It's a long road, but we are getting there!

Ha ha! Actually I got married two days before you.
My husband's uncle always said "Get married on a week day. That way if it doesn't work out you don't ruin your weekend!"

BB Kuhr
08-24-05, 06:53 PM
Actually, You got married on my Dearly Departed Mother's Birthday! And you know the silly thing? I look at the calendar each September and say "Wow. Mom's Birthday Month. She would have been how old this year?" and then I think "Oh, goodness! My Anniversary is two days before that! I'd better remember that!" :o
Isn't is silly how the mind works? My Mom's been gone 20 years and still her Birthday pops into my head before my Anniversary? Weird.
So any way, you picked a very special day to get married! :)

LisaD, I've been wondering to myself each morning if it's the better diet or that Autumn is just around the corner - don't know which one is helping my hair behave lately - or maybe both?

I'm just a Frizz Ball all summer long. Tried every hair product known to man. Barrettes seem to work best for me :o

I got married on a week day also. I got married on a Tuesday at Noon. It was the easist way to weed out unwanted guest by making the time extremely akward.

BB Kuhr

Exactly! Low budget (of course even "low Budget wedding" is a lot of cash!)! After that many years of being together we just wanted to Get 'er done! We wouldn't have done it any other way! The Church was free, immediate friends and family all showed up. What more could we need?

lisad00

Well I did everything including the honeymoon for 1500.

Dress $25, shoes $11, Accessories $28
Grooms Transportation $100
House in orlando for 6 days $200 ( We got it for cleaning cost from a relative). We had out own pool but Hurricane charlie hit.
rental car $350
Plane tickect $350
Food and entertainement $200
Church $75
Rings $210

We told are witness ( My mom, My grandma, and my best friend) They could have lunch with us if they paid for there on food. We refered to my family as witness since we didn't invite people. To make it seem impersonal so they didn't feel left out.

I had 3 showers in total. We were in engaged for only 30 days and I planned everything via Internet mostly.

My mindset was if you wanted me to have a gift you would give me one regardless if I gave you cake or not. Also, I knew my groom would be out of work for 4 months and that we had to move to NYC. So I was not going to spend $25 a plate.

I cleared about $3000 in merchandise and a $5000 lump some from my mom. So we did good.

Wow! All that planning in one month? Holy cow!
I think I did ours in about 3 months.
And my family approached me to ask what I thought about them buying the food and wedding cake as a gift to us. So that saved a bunch. And my dad paid the beer bill.
I made my own wedding dress because at that ime I went shopping and tried some on and said "Man! I am so fat! I'll be darned if I'm spending this much money on a dress only to look even more fat!" So I bought the material and created my own wedding dress. It wasn't too fancy, but it only cost $20 for the material. Made all the bouquets and bootineers myself too.

We didn't spend much on our rings either. Neither of us are big on wearing jewelry.

A friend of ours is a professional photographer and he volunteered to take the pictures if we bought the film. So that worked out good too!

We were glad we kept it small because we got to focus on the actual event and celebration instead of so many details.

LisaD, glad things are evening out for you! Hang in there!

Sounds like maybe that plateau is trying to visit your neighborhood too? Hope not! But we can kick Mister Plateau's Butt, can't we?!

BB Kuhr
09-30-05, 02:37 PM
Well, today my butt is not my favorite part because as I lose, my butt is going away!!!! What the heck!?

So if I must choose a new favorite part of my body that I am happy with, I would choose my thighs which are considerable smaller than when I began my diet and they are finally showing some muscle defenition!

So that's something to celebrate!

izola
09-30-05, 02:47 PM
Well what I'm really happy about is actually that I'm starting to see my collarbones again, I can see that little ditch inbetween them. I haven't seen that stuff in so long. I couldn't even see that when I was lighter than I am now. So that makes me very happy. I'm starting to see my waist again too... but the collarbones beats it all right now :)

yoshiboo
09-30-05, 03:11 PM
I guess I'd say my butt. I don't have cellulite there (thank goodness) and it's one of the few parts of my body that doesn't have saggy skin or stretch marks.

Oh, and having a good hair day too!

The one thing I'm extremely happy with since I've lost is the definition in my face. You can see my jaw line and goodbye double chin!

BB Kuhr
09-30-05, 05:17 PM
Izola, I understand about the collar bones. Cool, isn't it?
I've always been a pretty modest person, but lately I've been buying camisoles in bulk and parade about the house in them. Never in public, but I'm no so shy in fromt of my husband now. So that's good!

Yosh, I hope your booty sticks around for you! Mine just seemed to vanish in the past month. I remember in high school I would get picked on for not having a butt. Well, at least I know some stuff is going back to original proportions after all that I've done to my body through the years!

We're not done yet, but there is no reason we can't appreciate the results of the hard work up to now!
