This is my 2nd official post! I'm not on this forum to lose weight, but rather to follow a healthy lifestyle. I use the fact that I'm tiny as an excuse to make poor diet & fitness choices and I need to end it now. We want to start a family in the next year or so and I want to give my future child a healthy start in life and set a good example. I figured now is the best time to start.

My diet obstacles:
- From Mon-Fri I don't eat breakfast due to not having the time. I've recently changed that by making a smoothie and a piece of WW toast and taking it with me on the way to work.
- I snack a lot during the work day (usually high fat granola bars & a lot of chocolate). As of last week, I've tossed the junk and have kept some high fiber crackers in my desk (quite yummy actually) and fruit & veggies in the office fridge. I don't feel like I'm missing out on my junk food at all - actually, I feel more satisfied after my healthy snack (I have still been allowing myself some chocolate though!)
- Lunch is usually fairly healthy (bring yogurt, fruit and veggies). The problem is with the main course... I typically take packaged/processed foods since they take no effort in the morning. So, my goal here is better planning - prepare a sandwich or salad the night before or plan suppers so that I have some leftovers.
- Supper is generally pretty awful. We rarely plan in advance, so most of the week is spent eating packaged convenience foods or eating fast food. I'm sure that if we plan meals in advance and prepare as much as we can the night before (chopping veggies, defrosting meat...) that it will be easier to eat healthy. Our real problem is that we come home late and make whatever we can get done in minutes.

My exercise obstacle:
- I have the problem with being able to stay motivated for a month or two and then quitting. I'm hoping that being on this board will help me stay accountable. I also find it difficult to fit it all in, with a demanding job & volunteer work on the side. I really just have to schedule it into my day and no more excuses!

Anyways, I guess I will post regularly and let everyone know how I'm doing!

Hi  & :welcome:

The crockpot should be your best friend lol :D

It really is a life saver around here - that and the BBQ Grill :)

I keep vegs and such cut up and ready at all times ( Ok I TRY to ) .

Thanks for the welcome! I really appreciate it!

We have a crockpot...just forget to use it 8-|
Also, we have a nasty habit of going to the grocery store only when necessary, so don't keep enough good stuff in the house (I get bad grocery store rage where we shop - It's the cheapest place around, so is a complete zoo!). I guess with a little patience (and Saturday night shopping dates), we'll be able to make a change!
