Well, I have offically lived in four different towns in the past 6 months, but now I have found my home for the next four years in Arkansas. I have been in school for two weeks already, although it feels longer. I have a crappy living situation right now though, we have an overflow on housing and me along with 250 other students are living in hotels. It not so bad but everything I need is on campus, but I within walking distance, which is really good with how gas trends are going. Been walking everywhere, but it hasn't really effected my waistline because I have been eating poorly up until yesterday. I haven't had a scale to weight myself either but I think it is a good think, one good thing about living in a hotel is there is an exercise room, hot tub, and pool and I have been using a little of each.

9/5/05

2 beef jerky sticks
big salad w/ cottage cheese
slices of turkey and ham to snack on
unsweet ice tea
vanilla ice cream cone

exercise:
30 minutes on exercise bike (6.5 miles)
1 mile on treadmill

My newest plan is to be a carb conscious as possible, I figure it is ok to eat some but earlier in the day like for breakfast because they will have been burned off by the end of the day. I have made a rule no carbs after noon. Don't know how much I will really stick to it though.

9/6/05 (so far)

half bagel w/ cream cheese
small honey bun

Goals for today:
salad for lunch and dinner, rest of the day no carb
30 minutes on exercise bike
3 miles on treadmill (goal for yesterday ment to split workout in to two workout sessions but people came over in the evening)

I plan on not weighting myself until after I have *comfortably* fitted into my size 9 jean, which should bring me around to 140-145lbs range.

Don't let the hidden calories of salad dressing ruin the advantages of salad. Also, when at school don't keep lots of snacks in your room.

reading your post brought back memories of when hubby was in school. Boy did we live in some dumps for several years, one place we called the cave because it was so dark, we could hear the mice at night in the cubboards and when you opened the cabinet doors the bugs feel out LOL gross i know but the landlord never would do anything( we did catch the mice eventually) but it was across the street from labs/classes and everyone around us was students not living any better, so we tolerated it. good luck !

9/8/05(so far)

1/2 bagel w/ cream cheese
1/4 donut w/ sprinkles

I have not been eating as healthy as I would like to be, I finished yesterday by eating half a salad but the damage from eating junk had already been done. I have been getting better at exercising everyday, even found a partner only problem is that she doesn't like to exercise very long and gets tired after 15 minutes, oh well. Yesterday I did 30 minutes on the exercise bike(6.5 miles) and 3/4 mile on the treadmill.

Exercise goal:
40 minutes exercise bike
4 miles on the treadmill

I have been feeling better lately, haven't been easily tired and it seems my mind is going full speed. I'm getting bored with my classes already, they need to pick up.

I have decided to do another fast, I liked how I felt after the first, I was more focused. I have been feeling sluggish lately and now its time for some changes. Sunday I was able to almost achieve my exercise goal, I made it to walking 3 miles on the treadmill and doing 30 minutes on the exercise bike. I think I am just going to work on being able to do that work out 5X a week and then maybe move up to my goal. My fast started an hour ago (8 am) and I think I am going to do a 4 day fast this time.

Be careful with fast. You don't want to go into the eating disorder phase.

Well, I wasn't able to finish my fast. Oh well. I didn't factor in the concumption of alcohol, because I rarely drink, and I went to a 21st B-day party on Friday. My goal this week is to just eat healthy and maintain an exercise routine.

This seems more inline with your goals then a fast.

I have been eating better, been keeping it low carb the past week. I think that I am still am taking in too much sugar, so today I started day one of the south beach diet phase one. So far I have eatin:

Lunch
Salad (Lettuce, cheese, ham, sunflower seeds, and ranch dressing)
2 beef patties (for hamburgers I just ate them without the bun)
1 glass unsweet ice tea

That will probably be the same for dinner seeing how that the no carb and sugar free food the cafeteria has to offer. I got a job, I started working at taco bell which is across campus so I get plenty of exercise walking around campus everyday. I am finally out of the hotel and living in the dorms which is better I think. I been keeping to advice of lisad00 and not keeping food in my room, no money for snacks anyway, but my roommate is a different story. Her snacks would be munchie heaven to anyone.
