Third times a charm right!! Third journal, this time I'm hoping it has a happy ending!!

I am seeing a lot of familiar names in here, so I'm hoping someone remembers me. lol Well a LOT has happened since my last journal.....like three years ago. lol Maybe only two 8-| . My then little boy, is not so little. He is now 5 and in Kindergarten. I met a great guy and we had daughter, who is now nine months old. We got married on the third of this month. Yeah, we did things backwards. lol

As far as weightloss goes. I did the low carb thing. Lost AMAZINGLY! I went down from 320 to 209. Then I proceeded to get pregnant. OMGOSH! Low-carbing is out of the question when you're pregnant. I gained back 90 pounds, and have since lost 50 pounds again. This time however, I'm not doing the low carb. In fact, I'll never EVER do that again. I was losing hair, my legs were bruised HORRIBLY all the time from stupid little things that shouldn't have bruised. And plus, the second I quit low carbing BOOM!! Hello FAT! What a nightmare!!

I am now eating a sensible diet. Full of veggies, three to five servings of dairy a day. I eat around 1600 calories a day. I work out at Curves 3 times a week.....most weeks. lol On alternate days I still do my bellydancing. It's so fun!! I walk quite a bit, though not the 4 miles a day I used to walk. I still do my Yoga also. I'll never quit that!!

I've popped in on occassions back with the Awesome Accountables I started dieting with. But I can't ever keep up, because I just never know when I can actually get on here or not, so I think this time I'll just keep to journaling. lol Coz then I feel bad for not getting into group. Miss the girls, but I don't even know half of them anymore!!

Hi!!! I don't think we met when you were on before, but just wanted to say hello and congrats on how well you have done so far!! Also congrats on making the decision to go with a more well-rounded diet ... I also find that low carb equals bruising, hair loss, weakness and depression. Good carbs are a, well, GOOD thing, IMO!!!

Thank you very much for replying to my journal Athletea. Girl you are within sneezing distance of your goal!! WAY TO GO!!:cheer:

Well I'm going for four days in a row of good eating!!:* I hope. lol I don't really have problems with eating well on weekdays. It's the weekends that I have the issues with. And this particular weekend, on Sunday is my birthday. :gift:  :bd I have no intentions at all of watching what I eat that day. lol We're probably going out the night before, I'll be good then. But no holds barred on my birthday.

Curves is going great. I get a lot of compliments which makes me feel really good. They can see where I have lost the weight and they tell me how good I look. It really keeps me motivated to keep going, but yeah......I look no where even NEAR good. lol Better I will go for.:sigh:

I've tried 2000 calories a day with NO success. I probably lost maybe a pound every other week. So I dipped down to 1800 calories. I was losing about a pound a week, so I'm hoping 1600 calories will give me a pound, pound and a half a week again. That's a good rate for me. Plus I do various different exercises all the time. But no way am I dipping below 1600. I have found ways to actually be full, and very content all day with what I eat. As long as I'm not hungry, its good. lol I read somewhere that 1600 calories a day is how much women should eat anyway, so I figure maybe I'll have some luck here. Nothing has been working very well since I low carbed. Man that was a bad choice!!

Hi, K!!! Sixteen hundred seems like a reasonable figure to aim for if you aren't getting the result you want with 1800. I lost the majority of my original weight at 1800 or more but there are a lot of variables, I guess. It's good to keep the cals high enough that you can cut back more later if you stall out, also need to get plenty of nourishment ... keep the bod hummin' along. :dn See ya. You are doing great. Keep a'goin'!!!!

WOW! This week flew right by! INSANE! After my four "good days" came four "not so good days". lol I guess, I had a four day birthday spree!:o Great birthday though! I couldn't have wished for a better one. My actual birthday started off with breakfast, but yeah. lol The fun started with dinner, we went to my fav chinese restaurant, China Gate. OMGOSH YUMM! And I work out with one of the ladies that works there and she knew it was my birthday, next thing I know, "Happy Birthday" is on the loud speakers, and I'm getting a dish of ice cream with a candle on top!! So cute. Then, my husband cut me loose to buy any three things I wanted!! Oh yeah!! I didn't go overboard at all. I was really good. Got a black nighty, a cd, and a movie. See I was a good girl. Then, my mom made her NUMMYLICIOUS chili for supper.......and some cake.........and homemade bread. lol Yeah.....ate a lot on my birthday. And of course she sends some cake and chili home with me!! Then the next day my MIL brings over apple crisp. lol I'm like, I can't win!! So I caved the next day too.:( But man it was good stuffs!!

I have been being a very good girl lately on my diet. I always have allowed myself one cheat day anyway a week, usually Saturday. So, I'm really good the other six days anyway.....usually. lol I got told to up my caloric intake by 50 because, you're not supposed to dip below 1000 of your necessary maintenance calories. So now I'm 1650. YAY! Thats like a cup of OJ more a day!! lol

I just got a message from an old friend on here. Totally brightened my day!! And I was kind of feeling ho-hum before that!! It has just been so long since I have been on here! I don't remember half of them, and the other half don't remember me. lol Oh yeah, and then the other half are completely new to me. Yeah.......I know that doesn't equate. lol Anyway, I guess I should get some housework done, and I want to get through another couple of journals.

YAY! I just noticed I finally got my second sr. dietalker :* LOL, most people who have had an account as long as me are like, elite or moderator, but I'll take the 2 star sr. diettalker. lol Considering, I haven't especially been here for the last what, 2, 3 years but once in a blue, blue moon.

Senhet~ Thank you for the congrats! Speaking of losses. Holy cowbells!! Look at you!!

Lisa~Thank you very, very much. I had planned on looking a lot better for my wedding, but my now hubby, pushed for it to be this year. I was like, okay, okay. So, I was a size 18, but thats better than the 24 I was!! You're gonna look so great! I'm so gonna want pictures! Your support means a lot to me. Thank you so much, and right back at ya!! I'll give ya the virtual kick anytime ya need! lol

Man, I've been a very good girl on my diet all week. Except for last night I had beef stroganoff.....which was very high to say the least in sodium. I stepped on the scale this morning, no loss! Again!! X-( I think it would have showed some loss, maybe if it wasn't for all the sodium I ate in that stroganoff. Because, I am definitely feeling a little puffy today....as opposed to my regular puffy.

Well, I think my daughter is finally done eating. Little piggy...man she ate!! And now she's throwing so I suppose its time to get off of my computer. lol

Thank you very much Monica and Beth for visiting!

I went to have my cheat DAY this weekend, it ended up being more of a cheat weekend. :( OOPS! Oh well, better than the four I had last week right? But yeah, I have a birthday party to go to tonight!! I'm just going to avoid the cake and stuff.

Although, I don't think dieting is going to do me much good for the next 40 weeks anyway. I'm about 95% sure I'm pregnant. On one hand, I'm really excited, because, yeah it's a baby. On the other hand, this baby is going to be really a little closer in age to Kaylee than I wanted. And then, I wanted to lose more weight before I got pregnant. I wasn't ready to quit dieting just yet. And I know it's bad to diet while pregnant. But I know I can keep exercising, and just make sure I'm eating right. So yeah, a little bit of mixed feelings, way more happy than apprehensive. We were going to try in three months anyway.... But my DH wanted a baby really closely to his birthday, so yeah, this one would be due, within a week of his bday, so he'll be happy. lol

First of all good job and good luck Kayzzee. I've never used Diet Talk before yesterday, but I sure have fallen off the bandwagon plently of times. Once I lost 60 lbs and gained it all back...plus about 35 :o Anyways, I noticed a couple people in this thread either newlyweds or getting married soon...I was wondering if you have trouble eating well when you are with your fiance/husband? My boyfriend loves my cooking so I always cook for him and then I eat a lot of it 8-| Just wondering if you run into this problem and if so, how do you cope? Thanks, and again, good luck!!! I would say welcome back but I've only been here for a day

Oh, I was not a good girl last night like I had planned. I feel like crap, I grabbed a cinnamon roll. :( Oh it was soooo good though. But yeah I needed it like a hole in the head. And then I didn't even finish filling out my fitday journal yesterday. I know up until the roll, I was still doing quite good. lol Cripes!

I have a massive head cold right now. I just want to curl up and go to sleep for the afternoon. I just might do that. My ten month old was up alllllll night, the poor little thing is sick! My son came home with a cold and boom, now we all have it. I have him washing his hands ALL the time now. Trying to prevent this again. We just had it not even three weeks ago! Same story, it came home with him from school. I know in preschool they made a HUGE deal of washing hands, I mean before meals, after meals, after going potty, after playing outside, after sneezing or coughing. Those kids were always washing. And now in regular school, I wonder if he ever washes his hands there.

I actually buttered my toast this morning too. I usually use the spray Parkay, I just was buttering away at the kids' toast, next thing I know mine pops up, and boom, I'm buttering that too! So there was an extra 30 calories I didn't need. Plus I'm out of oranges so now I'm drinking orange juice instead, which freaks me out 110 calories a cup. So I'm already at 330 calories this morning and I'm going to have 300 calorie dinner. Never mind, I guess that isn't that bad. lol Now that I look at the numbers, the bad thing though, is everytime I try to exercise my head starts to pound. So I haven't done anything for two days. :o

Well, I guess that's enough grip time for now. lol Sorry, I'm in a pretty crappy mood today.

Hi there,

I meant to stop by yesterday and post some words in your Journal .. but I have been going thru a great deal (emotionally) this past week ...

I wanted to suggest to you to :stop: STOP :whip: BEATING YOURSELF UP .. imo all it does is ADDS INSULT TO INJURY .. each day we have the opportunity to make it whatever we choose to ... there WILL ALWAYS BE CIRCUMSTANCES (either inside or outside influences) THAT CREATE PROBLEMS FOR US .... but the fact that you're here ... MEANS THAT YOU RECOGNIZE THE NEED TO KEEP GOING ON YOUR JOURNEY TO SUCCESS ...

As my father would so often tell me DON'T THROW THE RIFLE IN THE MUD (lol can you guess which branch of the military he was in) .. KNOW THAT YOU HAVE THE POWER AND THE ABILITY TO ACHIEVE WHATEVER GOALS YOU SET FOR YOURSELF .

We're a family here at DT ... and although we are different ages and come from different backgrounds WE SHARE THE SAME OBJECTIVE -- TO NOT ONLY ATTAIN WEIGHT LOSSES BUT TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY (AND HEALTH) OF LIFE.

Have and make it a great day ... KEEP MOVING FORWARD ... this is SOMETHING YOU CAN AND WILL ACHIEVE BY TAKING IT ONE DAY AT A TIME ONE MEAL AT A TIME. I am as always, Monica :wn:

keep on movin.. keep on groovin....I know you can do it because you are a winner! we all are and were gonna get healthy and fit and sexxxxy. and girl, and get better soon!! colds are no fun.

oh and RAC asked about eating with my fiance... its difficult!! we have totally varying schedules so weekends are our only meals together. fiance like pizza and buffalo wings... problem is.. so do I, but insted i end up getting a turkey sub w/ veggies or a salad with grilled chicken. when I cook for us, I make something that is ok for me to eat just have a smaller portion and pair it up with a salad. I havent gone to a restaurant since starting my diet but that is going to be the worst... i love eating at restaurants. and that is where I am weakest... rac- if you need any support or anything drop me a line.

I have to fight myself at a particular Mexican restaurant we loooove. They have the best chips and salsa, and the chicken chimichangas are to die for. I have gotten myself to order ala carte, which means without extra rice and beans, but that is all I can go right now, or want to (lol). Fortunately, it is 4 hours away from us, so I do not feel quite as guilty if I go in there and fall of the wagon a little!! As for other restaurants, we are actually getting tired of them! Hubby is much better cook, a mean barbecuer. Gotta learn to curb myself with that too!!

Hi Kayzzee, I thought I'd pop by your journal! How's Nebraska since I left it? Hope you're not in a snowstorm or anything. Actually, that's more on the west side, isn't it?

So, did you find out if you were PG? That would be exciting. You're way more brave than I am, though! I don't want a baby for quite some time! But how cool!

Keep it up girl! :D

Well, two good days in a row now. I upped my calorie intake to 1800 to fit in all the oj calories I've been drinking. :o But I've been eating good!

I can't believe all the visits I have in my journal! Thank yous!! And I only wrote like one line. lol

Monica~I hope things start going better for you!! :console: Believe me, I don't get the slightest bit upset when someone doesn't stop by, or no one stops by. I love it when you all do though!! But yeah, we all have lives, and sometimes we have time to go and visit other journals and sometimes we don't. Like yesterday, I didn't even really make it to mine!! lol

Lisa~Thanks for the motivation!! Yeah Rac had asked me the same question, I just pmed her back not too long ago. Felt like an asp for not getting back sooner. Same deal, if I'm cooking......no problem. I cook good things, and I control the portions. The other night I was so sick, he ordered pizza. lol And I was kind of torn, I was like well..... thanks for the pizza.......he can't cook at all, so I mean, it was sweet for him to do that so I didn't have to cook. But I have NO self control around pizza. NONE! NADA! ZIP! I ate four pieces and a couple of breadsticks!! So yeah, it was a nice gesture, but bad for the diet. But yeah, if I leave any meal up to him...... great coz I don't have to cook, but it's always something he gets or orders. lol

Lbbear~TY for the support and for visiting my journal. We just got a new mexican resteraunt I've been dying to try. We were going to go there for my birthday, but its so new that its stuffed! There is one called Ricardos, that I just adore, and hubby hates, so we went to another one called Michaels Cantina. OMYGOSH! Why hadn't I been there before?!?! But wow the food, was APLENTY!! We got an order for two.......could have fed four! We ordered steak fajitas, and they come out on their own sizzling skilet, and then this ginormous plate of rice and beans comes out. And I LOVE spanish rice. lol Now I'm getting hungry.....I just ate. But my real soft spot for resteraunts is China Gate. Sweet and Sour chicken!! The best I have ever had anywhere!! I'm gonna start drooling if I keep thinking about it. lol

Rikki~Same old crud here. It's 40 one day and 80 the next!! As far as pg goes. Well, I can take the 1st Response starting tomorrow, 4 days before your period is due. So I'll take it, but I won't hold out any hope that it will work, only like 69% of possitives were gotten in that time frame. But my af is due next Tuesday, so I'll know for sure for sure then, if the tests don't want to work. But having had 2 babies already, if I'm not I'll be very, very surprised. lol And embarrassed. lol

Yup dar be baby on da way. lol

Hey all, don't have much time, so I'll make it quick. Having a good day so far. I've missed Curves all week though. I hate that. I really love being able to go and work out, even just three times a week. I've been able to do my home exercises yet, so no big deal but I do miss Curves. Next week I swear to have a healthy baby and healthy me, K, so pregnant healthy me. Same thing!! lol I think its great I can keep exercising and stuffs because I was already doing it. I'm a bit depressed I'm not going to be able to lose some more of this weight for the next nine months though. But oh well, baby is worth it!!

Hey Thinkspring!! How goes it girl?!?! Glad to see ya! I just started coming back here myself. And I'm already at a stand still. lol I haven't poked my head back up in the AA's. I looked and thought, who are these people........eh forget it. lol I have enough trouble trying to keep up with my journal every day. lol

Welp, I have a house to try and play catch up on, being sick I kinda fell behind.

Hey KayZee, thanks for dropping by my journal. I don't think I knew you from before. I've been hanging around DT for about three years, a few "friends" and the Maintenance gang.

I read your intro and I guess you know how hard it is to keep it off. Sounds like you have a very sensible and healthy plan now. You obviously track calories, do you use FitDay?

When I lost my weight (Which was very very slow by the way) I focused on eating healthy, trying to get in five servings of fruits/veggies a day, 8 glasses of water, lean protein and healthy but limited starches and fat. To get off the last ten pounds I started using FitDay, and have used it sporadically since. I actually reset my goal weight lower, even hit it briefly, but was never able to hold. Managed to stay around 155 for a couple of years and then started to gain. I'm back in a "dieting" mode now.

I think 1600 to 1800 calories sound about right for you. On days that it is easier, stay around 1600 and on other days go to 1800.

I have never been able to successfully low carb it. My body just rebels, though I really do drop the pounds if I can manage. I too bruise all over the place when I do that, plus I get terrible muscle cramps. That said, I am "carb sensitive" and in order to lose I have to control the starches in consume. I have done a lot of reading on the Glycemic Index of foods and try to watch the GI of the fruits and veggies I eat and limit refined starches such as bread and pasta. Since you did so well on the low carb as far as losing is concerned, adding some GI information to your choices now might help boost your weight loss. I also try to avoid concentrated sweets though that is a real struggle.

Anyway, glad to meet you. I'll try and drop by some and help cheer you on. Please come by and see me again.

Jo

I'm really hungry right now and its not dinner time yet!! I'm hungry all day, and then I'm sick most of the night. :-& This is going to be a fun pregnancy, I can tell already!lol I went to the dr this morn to get a blood test done and all that jazz, I'm due June 27th which is exactly what I figured anyway, I keep pretty good track of my period and ovulation and stuffs.

I have been being very good with eating sensibly. I'm finding myself snacking a lot, but not piggingly. I went to Curves this morning for the first time in a week! yeesh!:ex: It felt great. I was told to modify my exercises, so I actually skip the oblique machine and the back machine, and I have to keep my heart beat down to 60% now, and I was getting it 70-80% so its hard slowing back down! And I have this mommy workout yet from my last pg, so I suppose I'll dig that thing back out. lol I really want to work on staying fit and healthy during the pregnancy. I want to try not to gain too much weight, I would prefer to not gain any. lol

Anyway, I gotta cook, lol I'm too hungry! Don't worry, its Lean Cuisine!!

Kayzee, acutally the GI diet is not really about fruits per se. It is about what carbs (both refined and complex) do to your blood sugar after you eat them. For instance a doughnut will cause a rise in your blood sugar which will be followed by a plunge... making you hungry. Some fruits and otherwise healthy foods do the same thing. For instance, watermellon, pasta, rice, and baked potatoes do the same thing. So on a GI diet you learn which fruits and veggies and starches are the most likely to do this and you avoid them. Proteins and fats do not cause a rise in blood sugar. So their GI is O.

So it is kinda like the low carb diet you did, except you can eat fruits and most veggies. And you limit starches to those with whole wheat, high fiber, and dense/whole grain types of breads. You can easily incorporate the principals into any healthy diet.

Didn't realize you were pregnant. That should give you a good motivation to eat healthy. It is really not necessary to gain weight while you are pregnant if you are already overweight. Just eat healthy and hold your weight steady. Maybe lose a little, very very slowly.

Glad to hear you are feeling pretty good.

Jo

10-19-05, 12:11 PM
Ohwow! Thanks, thats a little more complex than I thought. The funny thing is, if I eat an apple just because its snack time, I am starving an hour later!

Things are going great today, I decided I wanted real bread instead of the saralee 45 calorie bread. lol I eat that all the time I don't usually think it matters. I eat 2 slices of saralee and spray parkay. Well this morning it was sams choice wheat with some blue bonnet light. lol I had 8 oz of milk and 6 oz of oj.

The sinus thing is going away great! Thank God!

So glad your feeling better day by day. I use spray butter as well but sometimes theres is just times when i want normal spreadable margrine or butter. I use i cant believe its not butter a lot. spreadable tastes so much better also when your using it for like grilled sandwiches. spray butter just doesnt cut it for me on the griddle.
And hows your back holding up??? hang in there lady!!

Not in the greatest of moods. I'm not pregnant anymore. I had what they like to call a chemical pregnancy.......I guess better than spontaneous abortion........ and maybe it sounds better than miscarraige. All mean the same thing, but they want to say the nicest sounding one. For whatever reason, the embryo wasn't viable or whatever so......yeah......don't know what else to say.

My midwife said it probably won't even inturupt my cycle much, she says probably 75% of women have these and don't even know, but more and more are finding out because of those early pregnancy tests. She said you should never take one until your a week late anyway. But I'm not the type of person who can wait for a week w/o a period, and then when I thought I was anyway to top it off. I'm not the most patient person. But I think I'll take that into account next time.

Anyways, sorry, I'm not visiting other journals right now. I gotta pick up my son from school.

DID NOT do good Wed. I took my son to another town to see a behavioral therapist......yeah there is a subway there, but I went to BK. I know..... and my mom brought cookies for the road trip! Even better! I mean that was sweet of her and they were really good, but I ate a couple of them!

Better news, today I'm doing great! I find I have a really, really hard time controlling things when I'm not home. I like have no self control or something! But yeah as long as I'm home I'm great!!

I did NOT end up great yesterday either 2000 even. I over ate at supper time. I find myself really struggling to get re-motivated. I like start off the week great! And I mean I allow myself a cheat day anyway.......but lately I can't even make it to my cheat day without cheating!! So far so good today.... anyway

Some days are harder than others, aren't they?

I saw your pics from your myspace thingies, and aren't your wedding pics cute! You're a cutie. Your kids are adorable too.

Have a great day! Stay away from that scary Halloween candy! LOL!

Hiya Rikki! Yeah.......most of my days have been harder. lol Thats the thing. It's like my motivation just flew out the window since I got married. I don't know why that should be. I guess I was working so hard to look descent in my dress that after that I just kind of like, I'll do good for a few days and then bad for a few days. Or in between for a few days. I'm not gaining..........I'm just not losing. I need something new to stive for I think. I seem to do a lot better when I am trying to achieve a goal for a specific thingy. lol

O man, the Halloween candy......gosh.......I'm praying I can stay out of that stuff! I might have to have my hubby hide it on me the way I've been!

Thank you for checking out my other sites and the compliments! Yeah I think my kids are pretty cute. lol But I'm a little biased there too. lol

The weekend, well went pretty quick actually!! I ate probably 2500 calories on sat.......I didn't count. lol And I had 2100 yesterday. The thing about yesterday was, well it wasnt' my cheat day!! But wow did I go over!! And I know I'm going to struggle this week! Damned candy!! lol

I decided to give those Kellogs special K bars a try. I don't know if they make other types besides strawberry, but thats all they have at Wal-Mart anyway. Very good though! And 90 calories! Can't beat that!!

Thank you Rikki for visiting!!

Yeah, been a while. Crazy life lately. lol By looking at this thing I'm kinda thinking maybe I should have left more of my personal life out of here and left it in my blog, coz now hardly anyone comes by. lol Oh well, its for me anyway, not anyone else right?

Well the food has been on the level. I have a job now. I get to register for the rest of my classes on Monday so I can get my degree. It's supposed to be a two year degree, but its going to be a two year and one part time semester for me. I had my daughter during final week at school. lol So I dropped two of my classes for the next semester. I don't know how some people handle full time classes and children........I just know I'm not capable of such a feet!! I was still going full time, but yeah I was on the very bottom level of full time. Anyway, there I go getting all personal and stuff again. lol

So far I have had 260 calories. I am trying yet to keep them below 1650. I do two days of that, and then an 1800 calorie day and then two days of 1650 or so again. Sat cheat day, suns are 1800. I wanna keep my body guessing. lol I've heard it works, so I'm giving it a shot. I hadn't been going to curves very regularly lately. This will be the first week in a couple that I will have made it all three times. I went into Ladies Workout Express the other day just to snoop and ended up liking it quite a bit. Probably more than I should have. I'm thinking about switching, but that means another start up fee. I love Curves, I really do, but I'm getting bored there. Same thing all the time. I know that sounds terrible, but thats the way I am. I get a piece of exercise equipment and use it really well for a year or so, and then it just sits there. I just get bored with stuff.

Anyway, that's all I have to say about that. lol

Okay here I am to help you clear out your tumbleweeds since you cleared some of mine

I thought maybe it's because I don't visit other peoples' journals quite as much as I would like to...hmm maybe? I dunno.

Anyways, it is your journal so say whatever you want!! Especially since life is part of health...I mean everything impacts it, so if you want to see what's going on you have to know...like let's say you binge, and you're wondering why that happened. Then you reread your journal and realize you had mega stress due to school work. Then you know when the stress comes you have to watch it. So, yeah, I think you should write anything you want to write and you find relevant.

I've heard about the calorie thing too, how switching it up can help you lose more weight. I am not sure if it works, let me know how it goes for you :)

Anyways, good luck with school and the diet and the new job :)

Hey girl! Don't ever feel too bad about posting personal stuff! It's what keeps us interesting. My journal goes through phases where one or two people visit, and then a zillion.

So what is your new job? I still need to find one. Hubby said I should apply to be the manager at the Long John Silvers. I dunno. It'd be a job and good management experience, but not a very "prestegious" job. Oh well. I'll find something...

Have a great day! :D
