MustLose8269 09-28-05, 11:08 PM Hi all, I'm back! I got off track for a while, but am back on track & have been for the past 2wks. I am a 23 yr old, married white female from PCB, FL. I was on the the metabolic reasearch center diet, but even tho it is a wonderful program, it just wasnt for me. I wasn't ready for something that strick. I finally learned that after a year & a half of trying it. But I'm not looking back. Basically now, I am just eating low fat, low cal, low sugar type things. I am drinking more water & I have switched to Diet Sodas. I also work out at my new gym, 3/4 x's a week, for an hour at least each time. I also walk my puppy a few times a day. Im really happy b/c my husband & my bestfriend are also losing weight as well. She's lost 24lbs, but shes been on it for 2mos & my hubby & I have been doing this for 2wks, hes lost 6 & I've lost 12. I have total, about 90/100 more pounds, or 50/55 kilos to lose. He has like 50 lbs or 25 kilos to lose. My Best Friend has prolly 20/25 more to lose. So I by far have the most to lose, but its ok, I know I can do it. I'm a size 24 right now. Anyways, I will be keeping up & on track more, I am looking for an online Buddy to chat w/& swap email or chat on here about our jouneys. :D Anyways, this is alot to read so I'm gonna go for the night, TTYL.

Im about to be getting a divorce too so thats not gonna make eating right any easier, lol.. But i HAVE to lose weight Im up to 291 now... :c( but i know i goooootta gotta gotta do this... lol... any advice? lol.. Stories or anything? i know its not easy for you now....but in hard times we can get weak and give up,or be strong and try to make a difference.try to ve all good foods that you like in hand....and keep yourself busy...

MustLose8269 01-05-06, 05:35 PM BUT I'm here to stay, for real, lol. Here's the story...
Started at 292.... now I'm at 276... 16 lbs down :D Right now my goal is to be between 240/250 by spring break (March 1st) Then 225 by April 29th... my 24th b-day.... then on & on & so forth.....
My time limits or ideal times for these numbers are in my siggy... but I would "like" to lose down to at least 199/189.... by Dec 31st 2006.... so that means I have... 360 days to lose: 77lbs... I definetly believe that is obtainable. What Im doing thought, it taking it in increments of like 10/15.... for my mini's... then My med goals are 25lbs.... then of course my ultimate goal. When I got married I was 225 & a 18... which wasn't bad at all.... Im 5'7 & have a large build.... Im currently a 22/24 or 2x/3x.... that HAS to change... I'm throwing it all away... my best friend has lost 28lbs & I'm so proud of her. I just have to do this.... for my life, my marriage, my sanity... & importantly so I can have better odds for having another child in a few years...I am the biggest outa ALL my friends & that really hurts....why is it that eating right, staying active & drinking water is SO hard? Any suggestions? LOL.... I am feeling inspired...the more I lose ya know? Any one want to be diet buddy's, send me a message & I'll give u my email ok?
So in review my goals for the year are:
1. Lose weight mentioned above
2. Drink more water. lol
3. Be more responsible
4. Be a better wife

How nice that you have a friend you are sharing dieting with. I always have wished I had someone nearby to encourage me or even walk with. So much better to join forces. You have set some really reasonable goals and will reach them - a little at a time. I know my weight is coming off VERY slowly. Seems if I track calories well, I don't exercise enough. If I focus on exercise, then I am eating too many calories. One of these days I will figure this all out. Hope you have a good Friday!!

MustLose8269 02-01-06, 05:03 PM Just wanted to update everyone...I've lost 17lbs so far & I'm now doing low cal, & exercise... I'm trying to stay in the 1200-1800 cal range...a little diff everyday to keep my body guessing... write now im averaging around 1600/1700 a day....when i lose more i'll drop it some more closer to 1500, then 1200 & so on... lol. Anyways I'm really excited! Good luck to everyone!

I have been exercising for 20 mins a day...drinking at least 64oz of water.... taking a multivitamin, corta-trim & drinking 2 protien suppliments a day... I dont know if maybe I have put on 2 lbs of muscle, or since my lean cuisine dinners are high in sodium maybe im holding water, or maybe i'm eating too many carbs & gained fat.... i've been using the same scale for months.... its one of those digital ones in the mall...lol. It frustrated me so bad, I went & ate a cheeseburger a few mins ago... Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
here's my cals for the past 3 days, I ended up eating more last night....
1.30.06- 1462 Cal/ 19- Fat/ 258-Carbs
1.31.06- 1638 Cal/ 54- Fat / 172- Carbs
2.1.06- 1942 Cal /( I went a smidge over but not to bad) fat- 39 / carbs- 282
I eat a combo of slim fast, fruit, low fat/sugar free puddings, yougurts & jellos, wheat bread, 270 cal frozen healthy dinners, & low fat desserts & things.... HELP! lol.... "
Then after I posted that I went and ate 3 cookies & a diet cake... :( I am so depressed.... I just dont know what to do :(

egyptrose 02-02-06, 07:51 PM hang in there dear stephanie...as long as you ve been doing so fine the past days there is no way you gained 2 lbs....you need to eat 3500 extra calories than your daily needs to gain 2 lbs fat....so it must be water gain....it happens to me very frequently....if i eat out even low fat healthy food and stayed within my calorie limits, next day i m 2/3 lbs higher....may be they use extra salt there....but it ll be gone soon....the most important thing is never let that get you down....keep going and they ll be gone soon
i think water retention and weight fluctuations is part of being a woman...
millie47 02-02-06, 08:33 PM Congrats on you loss so far. You are doing great. Don't let that scale get to you. Show that scale who the boss is!!!! You was most likely water weight. Don't look back just move forward!
I have done this many times also, so you are not alone.
sexybod@140 02-02-06, 08:58 PM Stephanie girl.... do not worry about what the scale is saying. All you need to worry about is keeping your healthy habits on track. There are many factors that could have caused the scale to read 2lbs higher. It can not hate you forever.... I am not one to talk, but eating all that high fat garbage is really not worth.

The 7 day diet, in essance, it all goes back to low cal just a different route.... today's my 1st day on it, so I'll keep everyone posted on how it goes, it is in essance a "fad diet" but my doctor gave it to me & said it works..... so I'm trying it...

Ok everyone, here's my long awaited update! lol....
Good news, I've lost 7lbs this week, thanx to my 7 day diet plan, I posted about. I'm gonna keep doing this plan till I get down to about 250, then I'm gonna go back to my 1200-1500 a day cal plan. :) This is just to give me the jump start I've SO needed... I know I can't eat like that long term, lol..but it sure helps, & the fact that I'm under a doctors surpervision makes me feels secure about it. :) I am starting day 1 again tommorrow :) I am just so happy, I have 5 more pounds to lose by the 15th of Feb & then I meet my mini goal! :) Anyways I'm gonna go for now. TTYL Good luck everyone & thanx for all those who stop by!

I like the idea of being under a doctor's supervision too. My doctor has different plans that she has people use for different phases of their weight loss. It works well.

I can relate about hating the veggies.... fruits i can deal with but the veggies... :-& lol... the soup is ok, i just eat it once or twice a day... i know i wont be able to do this for too much longer... at least till i get my 255 goal completed.... then i can go back to cal couting, I tell ya what tho, this diet makes you appreciate regular dieting, lol... anywho im gonna go for now... :D
MustLose8269 02-11-06, 03:26 PM Well today I joined a gym... :D I just paid for a month, well my hubby did, lol...he said he wants to make sure im gonna go, lol... b4 he pays for longer for me, altho, he knows im more dedicated this time than i ever have been, so he has faith...but more importantly I have faith in me :D Tue is the big weigh in/doc's appt (V-day, lol) so we'll see how much i've lost in the past almsot 2 weeks :D I'm so happy... I just gotta keep this up! I hope, I'll meet my goal weight of 265 at least... or 269, lol..just be in the 60's would be GREAT! :D Anywho gotta go... have a great weekend!

Ok everyone...well saturday was my day 1 back on my 7 day week... I cheated...sat & today... :( but alas, I still went to the gym both days an hour each... im only gonna do this 7 day diet one more week (maybe 2) & day 1 starts tomm, then i'll be back to my healthier, 1200-1500 cal's, which this (Cabbage soup diet) has taught me to appreciate the healthier lifestlye, lol. I will be doing an hour & a half a day at the gym mon-fri.... so that should help, lol. I'm pretty excited. I wanted to lose down to at least 255 by march 1st, (spring break) but i dont think that will happen, considering i gained to 275 over the weekend. I didnt know that was possible, lol. But if I can at least be around 265... I'll be happy...anyways im gonna go... thanx for stopping by! :D

sexybod@140 02-13-06, 01:41 PM Certainly keep up the great work at the gym. Make sure you are keepng your intensity levels varying and push yourself to go that extra few minutes. If you can listen to whatever type of music/musician who really makes your heart pump.

Well I'm doing good so far on my 7 day plan, Im on day 3... I did have a error last night, since it was v-day, lol. But I made up for it at the gym... I am burning around 750 cals a day... so in 5 days thats a pound a week of fat w/added muscle! :D Plus my dieting so thats great! :D I am allowing myself one day a week to cheat, but only for one meal & I still have to get a diet coke, lol. (2 weeks w/ no regualar cokes, I'm keeping track, lol! :D ) Anyways...so I have that to look forward to Sun... I am doing it every Sun, since my hubby's off.... I think Applebees sounds good, lol. Damn Im SO craving good foods right now, lol. Im just trying to fight it. I have had 64 oz's of water today... Im gonna try to get 24 more in.... :D Anyways I guess I'm gonna go for now, good luck to everyone & thanx for stopping by..

Just do not do it too long being so strict you can barely eat anything. A good balance is always best girly. the one good thing about Applebee's is the WW menu options.... so you can still eat wisely. :)

SexyBod- Dinner turned out wonderful, lol..I ended up at O'Charlies I had a diet coke & no dessert :D but the rest wasn't too healthy but its my cheat meal, lol... it was REALLLY good tho.... lol. But tommorrow starts my 1st day on my last week of my cabbage diet :D Then I'll be eating healthy again! Yay! lol...

Well my weekend didnt go to well, lol. My cheat meal turned into a day or so... lol. BUT I went to the gym this morning & did my usual 1 hour & a half 750 cal burn.... & Im on my 1st day of my LAST week on this 7 day cabbage diet. Im hoping to meet my goal of 265 by the end of it. Then back to counting cal's. I go back to my Doc's on march 20th, so hopefully by then I'll be around 255... :D Anyways I'm gonna run...gotta make my soup, lol... Later.... :)

Well I just ate a grilled chick sandwhich w/cheese & mushrooms, w/a side of Hashbrowns w/cheese.... & a sweet tea.... soooo day 2 NOT doing so well, lol. I am frankly quite tired of this 7 day cabbage diet. I am, however, gonna start at day 1 tomm & do days 1-4 (until sat) & then sun go back to cal counting. I am only gonna do 1-4 b/c thats when I lose the most anyways, so I know I can get at LEAST 5lbs off by Sat. Which is good for me, I'll be in my 60's good & proper. :) This diet works (CSD) but the down falls are u stay hungry alot or I did, lol, & if u dont like veggies (like me) then its hard to stick too, lol. But it DOES work & fast. So theres my little anaylisis on it, lol. Anyways have a good one everybody!

try to eat well in those days,so your body dont switch to starvation mode after you finish....this ll make it easier to keep off the weight you lost....good luck to you...

Oh girly... I will not lector you, but I am noticing a pattern with this harsh dieting you are trying to stick with....giving in to high fat foods because you feel starved. Girl with all the exercise you are doing you could just stick with a low calorie balanced diet and still be dropin' the pounds. Okay maybe I did lecture you for a minute...lol. Listen I just want to see you drop the lbs forever.... not just a quick fix.

MustLose8269 02-24-06, 02:38 PM Yay! I just wanted to let everyone know, I've lost 2 more pounds this week! I'm down to 271! I am starting to see muscle defintion in places I either have never seen or havent in a WHILE, lol. I'm so happy. I think that my experience w/the 7-day diet, gave me a good little jump start & helped me to appreciate being able to eat healthy & stay w/in a normal cal range. 1360-1860. Im hoping to get at least to 269 by March 1st. :) Altho 265 would be nice, lol... but I'm not pushing. :) Anyways I'm still going to the gym 6 days a week, burning about 650-750 a day REALLY helps, lol. I've met so many people online & at the gym who are very helpful & I apprecaite you all! I'll keep you posted! Have a good weekend! Laters!

Well, I made it through another weekend, lol, sorta. Not TOO sucessfully tho. Weekends kick my butt. I shoot for just a 1 cheat day on suns but it ends up being sat & sun... we go out on sat nights & then go out & do stuff during sun too. My hubby works all week except suns, so thats why i made that my day. Any tips? Im aboout to go to the gym, I dont think I gained anything back tho. Either way this is my last week to at LEAST get to 269 (b/c of my goal) so i gotta buckle down these next few days, lol. Anyways I'll be back soon...
MustLose8269 02-28-06, 07:51 PM Hello everyone, I just wanted to say I'm doing another fad diet, lol. I know its bad in some peoples opinions, the thing is is my Doc gave it to me, he said this one would be easier than the cabbage soup 7 day thing. Today is my 2nd day on it, one more to go, its alot easier for me to stick too. I have lost 3lbs already since yesterday. Your supposed to lose UP to 10lbs in 3 days. Then you eat normally the next 4. I plan to do 1650 cals on my off days. So mon-wed will be my 3 day then thur - sat will be the low cal. Suns will be my ONLY cheat day. I know the 1st 10lbs on here will be water. But after that its fat loss, in essance its just 3 days at 1000 cals. I know thats pushing the starvation mode, but my doc said that doing it for just 3 days wont do that. So I'm at least gonna give it a shot ya know? I'm still exercising 6 days a week & I'm drinking 72-100oz of water daily. I'll include the link if any one is curious about the plan. Have a good day everyone!

MustLose8269 03-08-06, 06:28 PM Hey everyone!!! Well I ended up getting a mini flu type virus on mon, so I've not been doing to well, for fear that it would keep my immune system down, so I've been just eating normally (aboput 2000 cals a day) not the best but I wanted to get well. I've been outa the gym all this week too. :( It made me so mad, lol. I'm getting better so tommorrow I'll be doing my 3DD & heading back to the gym for some light exercise. Then I'll take sun-tue off (just eat 1360-1860 cals) & do my 3DD next week agina wed-fri, so hopefully I can still meet my goal by march 20th. This cold has really set me back, but I havent gained anything at least. :D My periods comming too, so I will prolly see some weight gain, but I have to remember NOT to freak out, lol. Ok everyone I am gonna run, sorry i've not been on, just to darn sick. lol. Tommorrow its back on track tho. :D LAters.

Im back, & almost 100% well, I do still have some conjestion & a cough but Its getting better, Im heading back to the gym tonight & I'm determined not to put it off anymore. It's been about 2 wks, almost. I Just didnt feel up to going, plus my dads REAL sick w/phenomia (hes disabled & has COPD, emphysema & alot of other illnesses) anyways he doesnt have long....so thats REALLY depressing, apart from the fact that my son was born marh 20th & passed away on the 30th, 10 days later...3 years ago, due to prematurity....well all that together & I've just been down latley. Hard to stay away from the food when I have that on my mind. But I am strong, I have to keep pushing, I've come so far already. ya know? But back to my weight loss,
I am happy that I havent gained any of my weight back while I've been sick, so thats a relief. I dont think I'll be able to make my goal by the 20th, lol, which is when I go weigh in w/my doc, but as long as Im at least at that 265 mark, I'll be happy. Today is day 1 for me on my 3 day diet, then I'll do low cal sun-tue & wed- fri of next week will be my next 3 day session again. :D So theres my update, lol. Hello everyone, well I can say that I DIDNT stick to my 3DD but the reason is my dad almost died Fri.... (the day i started) He has had phenmonia along w/being disabled w/MD & COPD, emphyesema & other stuff for a long time. He refused to go to the hospital & it finally caught up w/him fri. So hes in the hospital now, on a mouth ventalator that breathes for him in ICU. Hes stable but its just so sad for me, along w/the fact that this month 3 years ago my 1st & only son was born march 20th, 3 mo's premature & died march 30th, 10 days later. So I'm REALLY very stressed, its hard to stay w/a diet & exercise routine when u've got that on ur mind. So I'm just TRYING to limit my cals to no more than 1800 a day. PLEASE keep us in your prayers. I hope ur all doing well, I'll keep u updated. Thanx... *hugs* Steph

I hope everything turns out well for your Father with his recovery. Thoughts of losing or losing a parent is really hard. Make sure you have your support system. It will help with controling any emotional eating. You will be in my thoughts.

egyptrose 03-18-06, 06:34 PM hope your father gets better soon....its tuff time but you ll get over it...i think its better you dont stick to any hard plan now...sticking to your calories will help you more now....and going to the gym ll be an extra bonus....just try that and you ll be seeing great results...

Well my dad is coherant now & able to communicate, he will prolly be in the hospital for a while, but is making slow progress, so thats good.... but to make matters worse, my mom now has bronchitis, but I know things have to get better. I def have faith.... well everyone have a good rest of the weekend, I've gained 2lbs, but I'm also due for my period so maybe thats it.... but I'll check in later.... :) *hugs*

Ok so here's the update... my mom got into a car wreck this week, just a minor fender bender, she & the other party are ok..... Then she got diagnoised w/C.O.P.D. (Cronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) Its in the very early stage, so as long as she quits smoking. The 20th as I mentioned was my son's birthday who passed on, which was hard but the 30th will be harder as thats the day when he passed on back in 2003. But I think I'll be ok.
As for my dad, they did have to do a tracheostomy on him (a hole in his neck that gets connected to a machine that breathes for him) BUT since he is improving he is being sent to a rehab center, to try to help get him OFF of that & come home almost well. (as well as he can be w/all his probs) so thats good news. My mom is getting better, so things are starting to pan out nicley. My sister was here all this week, so that helped me out alot. This mon, is when my dad will be moved, they have open visiting hours, so I'll have alot more flexible time to do everything, so I"ll be able to get back on track w/my weight. My goal is to be at LEAST 259 by birthday (april 29th) I will go weigh myself tommorrow to see how much I've gained or lost, lol, during all this. Anyways, I';m gonna go, I've missed you all. So here's an update: My dad is getting better, he'll be in rehab for 2/3 more weeks, then comming home. My mom is almost compleltly better too. I have lost down to 267lbs :D I'm so thrilled. :D I start my 3DD mon, hopefully I can lose 5-7lbs this week. But any will be great. I am going to mexico may 4th, to meet my in-laws, I HOPE to be at LEAST 250 by then. anyways gotta run.... laters. :D

My dad's still not home, but should be in about a week....which they've said before but I think he will be...God willing. So anyways, my moms doing well. So am I, but 8-| I have gained back to 275, but that is due to stress from my dad, my hubby & some other things that have went on, BUT...lol...things are getting better, for real this time, lol. I am on day 1 on my 3DD now, so I'll let everyone know Sat morning how I did. I haven't been going to the gym, so it expired, but I am gonna be getting a 3 mo membership for my birthday (Apr 29th, I'll be 24) so I'll get back in that routine as well. I've altered some of my goals, as u can see in my siggy, which I think are realistic. Anyways, I'm gonna run.....

just try to stick to a low cal flexible plan ,it ll make things easier on you and wont add the stres of dietiong to what you are already going through...

My local radio station, is having there own "Biggest Loser" Contest NOT the TV show but similar, altho I wish it was the actual show...but yeah(they provide you a personal trainer, gym membership & eating plan, ect..ect....) They do it in teams, like the show..... well anyways I applied a month ago & I got a call today, so I go Wed.... to be put on a team!!! If I win or if Im on the team that does, Im not exactly sure how it will all work yet, till Wed....then I'll not only lose weight but win some money, some sunglasses, a spa package, another year membership to the gym & more!!! I'm just so excited....the odds that I was one of the ones chosen, is just a blessing from God! I just had to share it !
Also, I start CNA (nursing assistant) classes June 3rd, Since I didnt get into Haney....I will do that in Jan for LPN.... anyways its only 3 Sats from 730a-730p...then u get ur certification & start working! Im so happy, my lifes finally getting better! I have been sticking to my low cal this week, I will be weighing in soon & let you all know how it goes.... Laters. :D

Well today I went, I am 100% in the game! (not the show but my radio stations version of it) It very similar tho, we have a 10 week member ship to the gym, w/a personal trainer.... whoever loses the most in that time wins all the prizes I mentioned before. :D We will be having weekly weigh ins & weekly challenges to be spared from elimination & all....I have to go tommorrow to get a physical, to make sure Im healthy enough it do this, which I am, lol. I am just SO thankful to God for this chance, even if I dont win, I'll still have my 10 week membership & this great experience! They will be calling us prolly fri or mon, for when the whole 12 team members get together to be weighed & get started! :D
In the meantime I've been keeping my calories in my goal range & I think I've lost some weight, I just dont know how much yet, lol. Anyways thanx for stopping by! Have a great day & I'll keep ya posted! :D TTYL
