no exercise today, back is still too tight to risk re-injury. I did some stretches this morning and spent some time on campus that involved a good amount of walking.

So far today for food:

Bowl of Special K Vanilla w/ skim milk

bottle of water

Turkey and swiss pita, crackers w/ cheddar slices, 1 apple, diet coke

I need to up the water already today, and cheese is the devil!
I'll edit tonight to add dinner...

I am just committing to keeping track of my eating and exercise... having to READ what I am putting in my body should slow me down.

Small changes means I am more likely to make this work.:)

Hi, Want2bskinny, welcome to Diettalk and the journal forum.

You are absolutly right that having to READ what you are putting in your body should slow you down. Most successful dieters do journal their food intake, and that helps them keep control of what they are eating.

The best of luck to you.

Thanks :)

PM snack was ~15 baby carrots and 2tbsp ranch

I just used fitday for today... I am up to 1300 calories. I guess no dinner? I was going for 1200/day :(

Holy CRAP it's amazing how fast calories add up. I'm really bad about eating 'healthy' foods and pretending they are calorie free. UGH

Edit to add:
Dinner-
1 grilled chicken breast
1/2 cup low fat yogurt

You didn't eat bad foods really though, so good job! It sucks a bunch how fast cals add up! Fruits and veggies are always good though. I don't see where the 1300 comes from...unless you had a bunch of cheese and crackers? Well good luck and have fun!

Well I guess I messed up yesterday.... It wasn't terrible but not exactly what I should have eaten.

Breakfast:
Special K and skim milk

Lunch:
Turkey and swiss sandwich on whole wheat, apple and diet coke

Dinner:
Chinese food
I stuck to veggies and chicken, stayed away from super sweet sauces... I also portion controlled way better than I usually do.

Today, Sunday:

Breakfast:
Whole Grain Granola bar + Orange juice

Lunch:
Chicken and lowfat cheese quesadilla with chunky veggie salsa (homemade, only a touch of butter to brown tortilla)

PM Snack:
1/2 cup raw almonds

Dinner:
Planning on having a salad with chicken and light dressing

I need to be more strict tomorrow!!!!!

Honestly I don't see myself sticking with fitday calorie counting... I was so starving yesterday by the end of the afternoon I was in a horrible mood with a terrible headache. Fitday said I had eaten 1100 calories already! I think either they are off, or 1200 is too low for me right off the bat, I can't get so hungry I'm a pain in the ass to be around!!! Just have to play with the numbers till I find where I need to be to lose this weight

Hi Want2be,

I can tell you from experience that you are eating too little on 1200 calories. You should be between 1400 and 1600 calories right now, and you will lose weight. So don't be so rough with yourself. And try the eating more high fiber foods, like fresh vegetables and fresh fruits. They are low in calories, and your body really needs them and you can eat a bit more of them and still stay on track.

You are off to a good start just by learning more about what you are eating and paying attention to how that effects your body ie: headaches, etc. because it's just not sufficient. We learn as we go, and I'm sure you will learn well and go far.

Have a successful day!

Well I vanished for a while... but I have still be hard at work. I had some days when I ate waaaaaaaay too much, and some very successful dieting days. My biggest accomplishment is that I purchased a Gazelle exercize machine and it's kicking my butt!! I am starting with no resistance for 30 minutes, plus sit ups. I am planning to buy a balance ball with resistance bands.

I have not even weighed, I really don't want to!! I may not have lost a pound, as I don't feel particularly lighter and the clothes fit have not changed. It's fine, I will get on the scale when I can tell by my body that the news will be good. By then who knows, it may be worth a party!

Welcome back~ I, sometimes, will leave for a little while, but I think that journaling is INCREDIBLY important, so one of my top goals is not to miss a day of coming to this site!

What diet are you following? If any?

Good look with your new machine! It will be simple in no time!

YOU CAN DO ITTTT :cheer:
