View Full Version : Decreasing Debbie
Debbie1986 01-09-06, 05:28 AM Hi,
I've been losing weight for 3.5 months and have lost 36lbs so far. I'd like to loose at least another 66 to reach 150lbs. Over the last few years I've started and stopped diets again and again this is the first time I've stuck with it longer than 3 weeks and the first time I've ever had such success. Why? I don't know actually. Maybe my mindset is different. I don't view this as a diet anymore I view this as a lifestyle, a healthy one.
Now I've got my food sorted I want to concerntrate on my exercise which can be very hit and miss. When I'm with my fiancee in Derby I visit his local gym, however I can't afford the gym prices around us and even though I have other ways to exercise it does seem to grind to a halt when I'm at home 8-| . So my target for this week is to exercise for 120 minutes. I'm starting off this morning by walking to my job instead of getting a lift (it's a mile down the road) so there are my first few minutes of the week! YEY! I'm going to log my minutes on here from now on.
I weigh on Monday mornings and today the scale showed a loss of 2lbs :) making me 216lbs (15st 6lbs - I'm British)
Debbie1986 01-09-06, 11:19 AM 8/1: 25 minutes walking :)
I really enjoyed my walk to work today. In fact I really enjoyed work. I started a new job today (I left my old one at christmas because I was so unhappy there), now I'm working with a family I've worked for before and I adore the children. I have a 6 month old and a 2 year old to look after (there is also a 5 yr old a 6 yr old and an 8 yr old but they are at school). I adore the lot of them.
way to go on the walking :cheer:
Debbie1986 01-10-06, 04:20 PM I got more exercise in today! Go me! I dusted off my exercise tapes and decided to do Leslie Sansone's Walk and Kick. You can tell how long it's been since I've done exercise like that (I've been using the bike a lot) boy can I feel it in my leg and arm muscles. Feels good.
I also cooked something new today. An omlette with peppers and onions in (gotta eat those veggies some how!!) Twas very very yummy and 65 calories per slice.
Debbie1986 01-13-06, 04:28 PM WOW I'm nearly there for this week. Go me, two days left and only 20 minutes to do. I did a whopping 45 minutes of exercise today. I did 25 at the gym (treadmill, crosstrainer and rowing machine) then just now I've done 20 minutes on the workout program of matt's PSP dance revolution games. Boy that was fun and I sweated tons. 20 minutes to go! Yey!!!:cheer:
Debbie1986 01-15-06, 09:59 AM I've made my goal of 120 minutes in fact I made 125 minutes! Woohoo!! In addition to that 4 of those minutes were running minutes. I ran for the first time today on the treadmill. I did a 15 minute walk and added in 1 minutes intervals here and there - I managed to do 4. Yey me! I'm so happy :D
Congrats on the running. I have never been a runner, but wish I was - just to make the distance. Congrats on the good eating and all that exercise. You have a very healthy outlook.
jessar2 01-15-06, 10:54 AM Congratulations Debbie!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep up the great work. You must be feeling fantastic. Have a great week!
:D Robyn
Debbie1986 01-16-06, 05:15 AM A new week, a new target. I'm going to stick with my 120 minutes again for this week and see how I do - maybe I'll up the minute a little next week.
It's weigh in day for me today and my electronic scales have been playing up telling me I lost a pound then telling me I gained two pounds - now both is not possible. Anyway I have an old mechanic pair that have always read about the same as the electronic scales and they declare one pound lost so I'm sticking with that. I'm going to put a new battery in the electronic pair and see if it settles if not I'll have to use the mechanic pair. The only trouble I find with those is reading the markings because they are so small.
I have to walk to work this morning so that's my first bit of exercise. Then when I get home I have the house to myself for an hour and a half so I'm gonna give my new Biggest Loser workout a try! YEY!
Hi Debbie,
Great on all that walking. Also on that pound lost. Don't you hate those scales. I use the one at work, so I know its' always acurate. It's at a clinic.

Debbie1986 01-16-06, 01:24 PM OMG! OUCH! I did the biggest loser workout. There was no getting out of it not oly had my fiancee brought it for me because I claimed I wanted it so much (how could I!!??!) but I didn't walk to work. My employer picked me up because it was tipping down with rain, bless her.
So once the house had cleared out I slipped it in to the DVD player. By the end of the workout I wanted to give up. I would like to state for the record that I HATE lunges. However I didn't give up:cheer: I carried on (and this was only the low impact cardio, please don't make me think about the high impact cardio, please!!). The lunges, the squats. OMG the squats. When he makes you stay low in the squat and hold your hands out in front of you for what feels like a decade. I tell you there were some cuss words being flung at that television set. Ahh the relief of the cool down...and then...it was over! I did it! It hurt! I didn't want to but :* I DID it :* Now I feel great and can't wait to give it another go. I will master those lunges.
I'm trying the sculpt workout tomorrow! Wish me luck
Hey, wasnt' it worth it. I know it's tough, but has to be done. Great for you
Maryse
Debbie1986 01-16-06, 01:31 PM Hey Maryse, yes it was worth it :) thanks for the support. Off to have a nice hot bath now.
Debbie
Debbie1986 01-17-06, 07:01 AM woohoo - I got my exercise in before noon. That's a miracle for me. Mum and dad are both out at work this morning so I have the house to myself again. I did the Biggest Loser workout but this time I did the strength and sculpt. I used my 1kg weights and luckily I have a yoga mat I used to use so I had that for the floor exercises. Ouch! That workout is as bad as the cardio lol. The crunches, now those really hurt and I just couldn't get the hang of the reverse crunches - too much fat on my tummy me thinks. Still I can work on those. 60 minutes of exercise this week and it's only been 2 days! Yey!!
Hi Debbie,
Aren't those crunchs the hardest. I try to do some every day as I have a big stomach and I know that it will help, but do I ever feel them. But no one said it was going to be easy :)

Debbie1986 01-19-06, 03:36 PM Two lots of exercise to report:
Yesterday: 20 minute walk to work :)
Today: 30 minutes, The Biggest Loser Low Impact Cardio workout. Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! Those squats, those lunges, they really hurt lol. Feels good though! Yey go me!
Debbie1986 01-21-06, 09:34 AM My total minutes for this week. 230!!! Woohoo! 110 minutes MORE than my target.
I did 30 minutes Biggest loser yesterday
Today I've done 30 minutes biggest loser plus 60 minutes walking.
I feel great!
Debbie1986 01-23-06, 02:11 PM Down 1/2 pound this week. Joined weightwatchers again this morning - just online as I'm not a meeting type of person. I had tried weightwatchers in the past and liked it but I just never had commitment to eating healthy. Now I WANT to eat healthy I've decided to give it another go.
Well I'm upping my target as I've been going past 120 minutes exercise a week for the last 2 weeks. This week I'm aiming for 180 minutes. That's my biggest loser workouts for 6 days - which is what the DVD suggest and what I did last week.
I've moved on from the low intensity cardio and tone and sculpt to High intensity cardio and boot camp. Did the High one today - OWWW!! is all I really have to say, but I did love it. Wow I love exercising. I also got 20 minute power walk to work in! So that's a great start of 50 minutes today. :cheer:
Hey Debbie, You are doing great on all that exercise. Keep it up!
Maryse
Debbie1986 01-24-06, 09:34 AM Thanks maryse :)
Got another 30 minutes exercise in today. I did the 4th workout off the Biggest Loser DVD. It was Bootcamp. This is the hardest one of the 4. I was soaked in sweat by the time I finished. On the upside I'm getting much better at sqauts and lunges, on the downside my arms sure don't like lefiting weights - OUCH! Need to work on those arms.
I think I might go for a walk this afternoon as long as the weather holds. I'll check back if I do!
Debbie1986 01-25-06, 07:24 AM Another 30 minutes down for this week. Today was the Biggest Loser High intensity workout. I LOVE this one. I love the football runs, the punches, the kicks, I love it all. Well I do today anyway lol :D
Hopefully get a 20 minute walk in on the way to work - if it doesn't rain.
Debbie
Debbie1986 01-26-06, 07:19 AM More exercise minutes. I haven't done my Biggest Loser workout today which I feel bad about but my back isn't feeling so good and I don't want to put too much strain on it by doing weights and pushups. Instead I opted to walk to the local shop with mum to get some thingsw (that's a 3 mile walk by the way!) so it was just over 50 minutes altogether. Pretty respectable I think.
