View Full Version : Starting A New Life In 2006
This is my journal.....welcome! I'm calling my journal "Starting a New Life In 2006" because I honestly feel that's what I'm going, I have a lot going on this year. Obviously I plan on starting a new life for my body; eating healthy, exercising and losing these 77 lbs.!!! But I also plan on starting a new life by my location, my boyfriend and I are moving to Phoenix, AZ in 7 1/2 months so I'll have a new home and a new home also means a new job, what will it be? Who knows! :)
Today, Jan. 17th is the first day of my body's new life. I ate a good breakfast, a light snack, I've logged 850 calories so far with another snack and dinner still due. I'm not sure what I'll have for dinner but I have some chicken breast and broccoli calling my name, what can I do with it to make it tastey and healthy? Any suggestions? I also posted in the challenges forum in the 21 day challenge thread, my challenge to myself was to do situps, pushups and leg lifts for 21 days straight, and today will be my first day! Right now I'm off to work, but I will post back here this evening after I've eaten my healthy dinner and done my exercises.
I hope ya'll have a fantastic day!!!
Today was great, I weighed myself and came up 233, down 4 lbs.!
For breakfast today I had an egg, 1 slice of ham and a slice of low fat american cheese on 1 piece of wheat toast
2 rice cakes were my late morning snack
a small salad for lunch with lettuce, tomato, onion, green peppers, almonds and low fat ranch dressing
an apple and 1 bag of 100 calorie baked cheese nips (those little "100 calorie" bags are a life savor for me!)
Dinner was a chicken quesadilla with 1/4 cup non fat cheese and some salsa and a cup of vegan chili
YUM!
I hope everyone else here has had as good a day as me, it just feels fantastic! On days like today I think I actually can do this, I will make it down to my goal weight!!
millie47 01-19-06, 10:04 PM Hi Tally,
Congrats  on the weight loss! Sounds like you are off on the right track. I wish you all the best on your journey.
I will check back and see how your doing.
Just stay focused you can do this!
vtmom13 01-19-06, 11:31 PM Wow you are really off to a good start. I know what you mean about those little 100 calorie snack bags. They are best thing to come along. I'll be checking in with from time to time, and I'm sure that I'll find you staying up beat, and loosing weight.
I lost another pound!!!:cheer: :cheer: :cheer:
That makes 5 lbs. so far, only 2 lbs. more to lose and I will have met my january weight loss goal to get down to 230, but I'm pretty much certain I will lose more than 2 pounds in 11 days so at the end of january it looks like I'll have to reconsider my short term goals, which is a good thing! At the end of january I'll see where I'm at and how I'm feeling and then make a goal for february.
Good News! A friend of mine says she has a bike that she doesn't use and I can have it, which means I can bike to and from work! It's about 4 miles so I'll be biking around 8 miles a day. It's a great way for me to get a little exercise because I have a lot of trouble motivating myself to get off my butt and do it....but if I have to do it to get to work it won't be a problem :)
Well, I'm doing well after a rough weekend. I was good all day saturday until dinner time when we decided to order out because we didn't have any groceries, he had pizza I had a buffalo chicken grinder with blue cheese and french fries. I ate half of it....then ate the other half for breakfast the next morning. Then I made lasagna for dinner on sunday night! I was pretty good with the lasagna though, I used low fat provolone & Mozzerella and fat free ricotta and the leanest hamburger I could find.
Okay, I slipped a little, I accept that and I was right back on track this morning! And thank god I'm still at the same weight I was friday, I didn't want to step on the scale because I thought I must have gained atleast a pound of water weight if nothing else, but nope, still at 232. It also helped that I had to walk home from work on Saturday (4 miles) because my ride fell through.
So my next short term goal is to make it through next weekend without slipping up so much :)
Hope everyone else had a good weekend!
millie47 01-23-06, 10:17 PM Hi tally,
Wow you are doing just great. We all slip up from time to time, so don't worry about it Just move forward.
Great goal working at having the weekend goal. Now did that make any sense, lol.
Keep up the great work and you will reach that goal!
thanks millie!
I stepped on the scale and down another pound today! :cheer: So I've lost 6 pounds total so far and I'm only 1 pound away from my january goal. It's a great feeling, I hope it never ends!
:cheer::cheer::cheer:I made it below my January goal!:cheer::cheer::cheer:
My january goal was to make it to 230 lbs. and I actually made it below that, I'm currently sitting at 229 :D So in essence I'm already working on my february goal, even though it isn't february yet. My February goal is to be at 220 by the end of the month.
Yay for me!!
millie47 01-28-06, 02:15 AM A big congrats to  ! Way to go. You are off and running. Keep up the good work.
Did you get that bike? How is riding to work going?
Stay focuse and you will reach each goal.
I haven't gotten the bike yet but I'm supposed to get it tonight! Today was my first day at a new hospital (same owner, different location) which is a little closer, it's 2.7 miles so I'll be biking 5.4 miles each day with a couple hills.
Unfortunately I seem to be up 2 pounds from Friday. I had a couple of splurges this weekend but for the most part stayed on track. I don't know if I gained 2 actual pounds over the weekend or perhaps I'm just retaining some water, or the other possibility is that I was on a different scale today. I don't have a scale at home so I use what's at work and since I was at a different office today I had a different scale. I'll be working sunday at my old location so I'll be able to step on my old scale and we'll see where I'm at then.
I hope everyone else had a nice weekend and good luck to all this week!
millie47 01-31-06, 12:33 AM Tally you do need to use the same scale. So don't worry about the gain it may just be the different scale. Keep up the great work.
doowadnil 01-31-06, 02:26 AM Hi Tally! :) Sounds to me like you are off to a good start. Just keep it up, one day at a time, and the weight will come off.
I got my bike!! :cheer:
I had the day off of work today so I rode my bike to work to see how long it would take. It took me 25 minutes each way (3 miles) so my workout today was biking 6 miles equalling 50 minutes! It was a lot harder than I thought it would be, there were a couple of grueling hills and when I got off my bike my legs were like jelly! I got back 1/2 hour ago and I still feel a little jelly like, but give me a couple of weeks and I'm sure I'll be in better shape and handling it better :)
Yay for me! I lost another pound!
My goal for February is to make it down to 220, that's 7 lbs. to go.
My journal post is short and sweet tonight because I biked to work, worked for 10 hours then biked home...I am wiped out! Hope everyone had a good day :) :) :)
And another one bites the dust! Down to 226 :) It's very encouraging and motivating to lose weight so quickly, but I know that you lose faster when you first start out (I've been doing this about 3 weeks) and I'm dreading when it starts to slow down to a more normal rate. I'm worried that when it slows down it'll be hard to stay motivated when I don't see as many changes on the scale. Well, wish me luck when that time comes!
Maybe it won't slow down. Looks like you have been active and really working hard. That makes a huge difference. Congratulations on the loss. Have a terrific week.
thanks sbraun!
This weekend was good an bad. The good part is that it was the first weekend that I didn't gain, usually I'm really good during the week then only half good on the weekends, so I put on a pound or two (usually mostly water weight). But this monday morning when I weighed myself I was still at 225 :) The bad part was that I hardly ate anything this weekend, I was super stressed out so I didn't eat much, and when I did eat it was not at all healthy. Oh well, a new week is here, another chance to get things right.
millie47 02-10-06, 02:43 AM tally you are doing so great so stay focused. I know you can do it. Keep up the great work!
Well, I made it through one of the most stresseful weeks ever without gaining! I've been with my boyfriend for over 2 1/2 years and we live together. Last weekend he drops the bomb that an ex girlfriend of his (the last girlfriend before me) is going through a messy divorce and has no place to stay so, surprise, she's moving down from Vermont to Rhode Island (where we are) and he's helping her out, she's camping on our couch for a few days, etc. etc. Talk about an unhappy week! But I stayed the course and didn't gain an ounce. I'm a super emotional eater and so many times this week I just wanted to say "**** it" and chow down. But this ex actually motivated me a bit too, every time I felt like binging I thought about how great I would look compared to her thin as opposed to heavy:o Anyhoo, things are still stressful, she's still here and he's bending over backwards for her but atleast she's no longer staying in our house, she's staying with one of our friends. I hope I can really make it through all this!!!!
So I suppose I haven't really been that clear with my goals so I've decided to write them in here, no editing allowed!
I made my january goal of making it down to 230, in fact I passed that goal a little bit. My original February goal was to make it down to 220 by the end of the month, right now I'm sitting at 223. So...there are 2 weeks and 3 days left in february, but my boyfriend and I are planning a trip to florida leaving march 5th which is exactly 3 weeks so I'm going to make March 5 my mini goal end instead of february 28. I want to make it down to 215 by the time we leave. Then for the rest of my march goal I want to make it down to 210 by the end of march.....however that may change if I gain while on vacation :(
Well, I did so great last week and made it down to 223 but then this weekend I didn't make the best choices and monday morning I'm up to 225. I'm hoping atleast a pound of it is water weight (I had a lot of salt and grease this weekend). I will be weighing myself again on thursday so we'll see where I'm at after 3 days of solid good eating. Keep your fingers crossed for me!!!
Well yesterday wasn't great for me. I only ate 1465 calories but it wasn't good things, I had microwave popcorn, 2 sogar cookies and a slice of pizza around dinnertime. The beginning of my day wasn't too bad though. I've been broke and so we don't really have any healthy food left in the house, but today I get to go grocery shopping! I'm going to pick up lots of good stuff like chicken, vegetables for salads, fruit to snack on and I'm going to try to find some healthier bagels because I'm going crazy without being able to have a bagel in the morning!! I may also try to pick up some lean cuisine frozen dinners because there are days when I work a double shift of 12 hours and I just don't have the energy to cook dinner for myself. I'm looking forward to it, for some reason I really love grocery shopping! :D
I hope you all have a great day today and everybody keep up the great work!!!
ARGH! I just remembered I have to go to work for a lunch time meeting today (this was supposed to be my day off) and they're going to buy us lunch! I don't know where they're going to buy it though, hopefully it's not pizza. They usually get pizza but some of my coworkers were saying they're sick of it so hopefully they'll speak up and we'll get something like subway instead. I'm also thinking I'll eat a little snack before I go so I'm not so hungry, keep your fingers crossed for me!
well.....I caved a little at lunch, despite my best intentions. I had a grilled chicken caesar wrap without the croutons and cheese, but I did have some curly fries too 8-|
Anyhoo I went grocery shopping and I'm very proud of myself, I got a lot of great stuff. Atleast 75% of the stuff in my cart was fresh veggies, fruit and lean meats :) Now I'm all stocked up!
I was able to breathe a little sigh of relief today. Last Friday I weighed 223, then when I weighed myself on monday it was up to 225, I wasn't going to weigh myself again until thursday (today) so I thought 3 good solid days of healthy eating would be good....then my 3 days of solid healthy eating turned into 3 days of only semi good things here and there interspersed with some not-so-great things (like pizza and chocolate). So I really expected to still be around 225 when I got on the scale today, and low and behold I was down to 222!!! That marks an even 15 lbs. lost so far. The only down side of being at 222 is that I don't think I'll make my next mini goal, which was to be at 215 by the time I leave for Florida (march 5th). Since I slowed down a bit in my weight loss I would have to now lose 7 lbs. in 17 days, which is at a rate of about 3 lbs. per week. I know it is doable....but my current rate seems to be a bit slower than that. I know for sure I can atleast make it down below 220 so wherever I fall below 220 by march 5th will be good enough for me!!
Well I hope you all had a great day today!
Today marks a momentous occasion!!! This weekend is the first weekend that I have lost weight :cheer: Usually on the weekends I slack off a little and I don't lose anything or sometimes I gain. I got on the scale this morning and low and behold I'm down to 221, YAY!YAY!YAY! I hope I can make it to 217 by March 6th, that would mark an even 20 lbs. lost when I go down to Florida :)
Wish me luck!
Well I have officially accomplished my february goal, which was to make it down to 220 and I got there today!!! Oooooh I feel good tonight!! :D
ageekott 02-23-06, 10:41 PM Tally-- way to go on making your Feb goal :cheer:.
thankyou ageekott!! :D
Well, the weekend is halfway over and yesterday I had one of my splurge meals, which means I have to be extra good today. I had two slices of meatball pizza along with 2 mozzarella sticks and 3 buffalo wings (bringing my daily total up to about 2250 calories)....not my finest moment. But the food was fabulous and I consider it one of my splurges, which I'm allowed to have, but no more than twice a month or so. Since I decided to eat poorly I made sure that I enjoyed every single bite of it! Anyhoo I don't weigh myself until monday so we'll see where it put me on the scale. I don't expect to be losing this weekend (especially because I was very inactive yesterday laying around on the couch all day) but hopefully I will atleast still be at the same weight I was on Friday.
I hope everyone else's weekend is going well and you all keep up the good work!!!
Well it's the start of another week! I weighed myself this morning and saw 219...but I'm still considering myself at 220 because I was 219.8 and I haven't been counting ounces, just pounds so I round up for over .5 and down for under .5. I won't be weighing myself again until thursday morning so hopefully I'll be down to a solid 219 :)
I'm getting really excited for my trip to Floriday with my boyfriend next week. We'll be seeing a good friend of mine and also his parents and none of them have seen me since I started to lose weight last month so I'm looking forward to seeing if I get any reactions. I am starting to notice the weight loss in the mirror now so I'm sure they will too! Also my birthday is coming up next week and it'll feel great to celebrate my 26th birthday at a weight I haven't been since my 19th birthday! :cheer:
Yay, the scale said 219.1 this morning!!! It's been quite a long time since I've been at this weight, it's a great feeling! Sometimes I don't realize the difference in how I look because I see myself every day but last night I was looking at pictures from my sister's wedding during march of 2005 when I weighed 245 lbs. and I couldn't believe how I looked compared to now! My face was so much wider and rounder and I had such a double chin. My face is slimmer now and my double chin is almost entirely gone :D I think I'll keep those pictures out where I can look at them any time I'm feeling discouraged.
hope ya'll had a great day today :)
Hi Tally, your journal caught my eye today -- just wanted to congratulate you on making your goals. Have fun in Florida, where in Florida are you going? I have been trying to talk dh into a trip to Key West, ever been?
~Nicole
thanks for the congrats nikic!
I've never been to Key West but it looks fabulous! I've only been to Florida once when I was 10 yrs old, I went to Orlando. This time around I'll be in Tampa for a few days then Clearwater for a few days. I can't wait!!!
No weight loss to report today, I'm still at 219, but I'm hoping to be down to 218 by Monday :)
gostrong 03-03-06, 08:58 PM Hi Tally
First thanks for your reply in my new journal!
You are doing great. I saw last week you had meatball pizza and mozz sticks. Are you ME? Two of my favs. Enough bout the food talk cause we dont need that. 8-|
Have a great time in Florida, good time to go.
Keep up the great work. :)
Well this will be my last post for about a week because I'll be in FLORIDA :cheer: I so need this vacation!! I weighed myself this morning and although I'm still at 219 (I had wanted to be at 217) I'm satisfied with where I'm at and the progress I've made, I feel good about how my body is changing and my face is slimming and I can't wait to see my friends and family :)
I wish everyone the best of luck this week, keep up the good work that ya'll have been doing and do something special for yourselves :)
I'm baaaaaaack :D My vacation was absolutely fabulous! And although I didn't follow my low cal diet throughout my vacation I walked sooooo much every day! I weigh myself on monday so we'll see if I went up, down or stayed the same. Wish me luck!
Well, I'm a bit disappointed (although not necessarily surprised), I came back 3 pounds heavier then when I left :( I weigh myself again in 3 days, hopefully I'll be back around 219.
I found a bathing suit that I really like! I haven't owned a bathing suit in 6 years but I'll be moving to Phoenix in 5 1/2 months and living there I'm going to have to wear one! I love to swim and so I'm really looking forward to it, since I've avoided it for so long.
anyhoo I decided to post the swimsuit picture in here, so I can come back and look at it for motivation when I'm feeling that I need a boost.
http://www.newport-news.com/assets/prod_images/prod_5/6S0785c_5.jpg
I keep coming back to stare at this bathing suit picture, and it's helping! I kow I won't look like her when I get into the bathing suit but I accept that, as long as I can wear itt without being too embarassed to come out of the changing room! I kind of want to buy it soon, because I don't want them to run out of stock, but I don't know what size to buy it in, they have sizes 2-18. Are bathing suit sizes the same as regular clothing sizes? I'm a size 18 right now, my friend recommended I buy it 2 sizes too small since I won't be wearing it for atleast another 4 months, does that sound right? Anyone have any advice?
Yay I get to go grocery shopping tonight!! I love going grocery shopping because I always feel good coming home with bags full of fruits and veggies and other healthy stuff. It takes me forever though! Anyone else spend a good hour and a half grocery shopping? Here are a few things on my shopping list for tonight:
apples
grapefruit
green beans
cauliflower
whole grain bread
brown rice
chicken breast
lean cuisine frozen dinners
soup
whole wheat tortilla wraps (I've been having trouble finding these)
yogurt
fish
stir fry veggies
stir fry sauce
anyone else have some suggestions? What are essential items for you when you go grocery shopping? I'm trying to get some new ideas!
Well, I'm here to adjust my goals again, my original mini goal was to be down to 215 by the time I went on vacation (I just got back from vacation a couple of days ago) but I didn't make it to 215 and my other goals were sort of based on that so I need to rethink things.
Right now I'm at 222 lbs. and there are exactly 2 weeks left in march. I want to be to 218 by the end of the month. Then I'll set a goal of getting down to 210 by the end of April. 2 pounds a week can be a little ambitious I realize but I'm planning on adding in exercise (walking and biking) since the weather is getting nicer and right now I know I'm not nearly active enough.
I'm a little discouraged right now. I just went for a walk and I planned on doing 30 minutes and alternating 10 minutes walking with 5 minutes jogging....but I couldn't do it! I could only jog for 2 minutes! It's really depressing to find out that I'm so out of shape I can't even jog (very slowly) for even 5 minutes!! ARGH :c(
Well I'm feeling better this evening. I went grocery shopping and got some great healthy stuff, plus I found a new kind of whole wheat tortilla wrap with 7 different grains and all these seeds and I had a grilled chicken wrap for dinner that was soooooo delicious! I can tell these wraps are going to be a popular meal item for me :)
Also I went to a doctor's appointment this evening and found out I weighed a lot less than I thought (damn those inaccurate scales!). Last I weighed myself was 2 days ago, and the scale I use (a digital medical scale at work) said 222 lbs......then today I got on the doctor's scale (it was one of those ones with the weights they slide back and forth) and it said 214!! I know I didn't lose 8 lbs. in 2 days but cool! However since I'll still be using the same scale at work that I always have I'm still considering myself at 222, we'll see tomorrow when I go to work if I've actually gone down or not. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
Well I weighed myself today on my regular scale and it said 219!:cheer:! I can't wait until I lose 2 more pounds and make it down to 217 because then I can say I've lost a solid 20 lbs.! Lots of people know I'm losing weight and so they're asking me all the time how I'm doing and it'll feel great to be able to say I've lost 20 lbs.... not 18 lbs. or almost 20 lbs but a solid 20 lbs.!
I also kept my food choices pretty healthy today and my calories for the end of the tay totalled 1417 (my goal is to stay between 1200 and 1500). My food today consisted of
Breakfast - small Bagel with 2 tbs. low fat cream cheese and a WW yogurt smoothie
Snack - 1 stick low fat string cheese and a rice cake
Lunch - Lean Cuisine sesame chicken
Snack - 1 kiwi
Dinner - Homemade chili made with lean ground beef and 1/4 cup low fat shredded cheese and a small salad with fet free vinaigarette
yummy!
I'm back!!!
My internet wasn't working for 5 days and I was seriously going through withdrawl not being able to come on this site!
Well things are going well, still at 219 (I feel like I've been stuck here for a couple weeks :() I went shopping today and bought a new pair of jeans in a size smaller than all my other ones :cheer: and a cute t-shirt and a tanktop. I bought the tanktop in a size too small, it won't be tank top weather here for atleast another 2 months and it's a fantastic top, I didn't want it to be too big by the time I could wear it! Also I'm hoping it'll help keep me motivated to lose more weight.
I hope everyone has had a good week, hopefully I won't have any more computer troubles so I'll be able to check in on ya'll regularly :)
I finally broke from this plateau! I was at 219 on march 5th, and I've been there (and at 220, going back and forth) ever since! 3 weeks of no weight loss was really wearing on me, at first I felt ambivalent, then just really discouraged, and finally I got on the scale this morning and it read 218!!! I couldn't believe it when I stepped on the scale, I expected it to read the same 220 that I had been for a week and I hadn't done anything different over the weekend, it was such a nice surprise today :) So I'm feeling a little better and a little more motivated.
And guess what? I accomplished my march goal which was to make it down to 218 by the end of the month! :cheer::cheer:
My april goal is to make it down to 210.
Today my menu looked like this:
Breakfast: 1 egg white fried with cooking spray on a slice of whole wheat toast with a slice of low fat cheese, plus a low fat yogurt smoothie
Snack: low fat string cheese and a rice cake
Lunch: vegetarian chili and a kiwi
Snack: Some baby carrots with 2 tablespoons light ranch dressing and another rice cake
Dinner: A Bowl of vegetable soup
216! 216! I made it down to 216!
I haven't been nearly as strict as in the beginning of my journey, I've been slipping a little more often and making excuses a little more often so I was honestly surprised to see the drop in weight. But very excited to see it! And it has actually motivated me to do better today, and tomorrow, and the rest of the week!
I hope you all are having a good week and keep up the good work!!
well, I'm back working at my original location, which means I'll be weighing myself on a different scale this morning....I wonder what it'll say. When I weighed myself on Friday I was at 216 so we'll see. :)
Well, I'm still at 216. Glad I haven't gained any, but disappointed that I haven't lost anything.
On a good note since I've moved to a different location for work it has forced me to get some exercise in. The bus doesn't go all the way to my job (because I live in rhode island and work in massachusets) so I have to walk 1 1/2 miles to work every day after the bus drops me off. One person I work with some days gives me a ride home, but when she's not there I have to walk back to the bus stop, so sometimes I'm getting in 3 miles a day, but always at least 1 1/2. Perhaps as I start to get into better shape I can start jogging part of the way too :)
In other news, I bought a new pair of jeans last month....and they're already too big for me. On one hand I'm psyched, that means I'm down 2 sizes (from a 20 to a 16) but on the other hand I'm kind of bummed that they're already too big....my budget is really tight right now because I'm saving up for my move to Arizona in 4 months and I can't afford to keep buying new clothes! *sigh*
I also got my hair done last week as a reward for hitting the 20 lbs. lost mark. It looks so great! I had lots pale blonde highlights put in and some great swingy layers put in and I really love how it came out. So what is my next reward going to be? I'm not sure yet, anyone have any ideas for some (inexpensive) rewards?
I hope everyone is doing well on their weight loss journey and I wish you all the best !
millie47 04-15-06, 07:27 PM Hi Tally,Wow lady you are just going to town! Good for you. I know it is so nice when the jeans get to big, I love it!
What I have done is only buy two pairs at a time as you go down in size.
I know you can sure put money into it that way so I tried not to buy to much at once. But the buying smaller sure helps to keep you in the right frame of mind.
You hair sounds pretty. I bet it looks great. keep up the good work. I will check back with you. Have a good one!
Hi Millie, thanks for checking in
Well, I've been hovering between 216 and 217 for officially 2 weeks now. I've been walking my mile and a half to work every day and mostly making smart choices......so why can't I lose? I've been trying to look at my diet and pick out something that could unknowingly be sabotaging me but I haven't changed my eating habits from when I was losing steadily. I thought maybe since I've lost 21 lbs. I need to reduce my calorie intake for each day but that didn't seem to help either.
My April goal was to make it down to 210 and we all know now that isn't going to happen, there's no way I'm losing 6-7 pounds in 9 days. My new goal is a simple one....an easy one.....I want to see 215 (that's a 1 pound loss) for 3 consistent days by the end of April. 1 itty bitty little pound and I will be happy damnit!!
I'm feeling so frustrated right now, I still haven't lost anything!! I'm still at 216!! On thursday I get to go grocery shopping which I'm actually pretty excited about, I'm going to be very careful about what I choose and I'm going to try to be ultra strict this week about what I'm eating, then we'll see where I'm at next week on the scale, I hope, hope, hope it's 215!!!!
Another day and the scale still says the same thing, 216. *sigh* But grocery shopping in the morning, I'm going to pick up some salad fixings, chicken breast, stir fry veggies, brown rice, apples, lean cuisine frozen dinners, rice cakes, baby carrots and some fat free ranch dip, soup, hmmmm....that's all I have in my head for now, I'm sure I'll think of some more things to pick up.
Anyone else have some suggestions for food to pick up? What are some things that you absolutely must have when you leave the grocery store?
I went grocery shopping today and got lots of good stuff! I'm feeling a little more motivated than the past couple weeks. I'll get my walk to work in today (1.5 miles) and it's a beautiful day so I'm looking forward to it. My goal is still to make it to 215 by May 1st (monday) I think I can do it if I really buckle down! I hope everyone else's April has better than mine and good luck making whatever your May 1st goal is!!
I'm feeling really good tonight. I went out for my jog and I jogged for 3/4 mile without stopping!!! Last time I jogged (1 month ago) I couldn't jog for more than 2 minutes, my sides were cramping up and I felt like I was going to pass out, but tonight I went for what felt like so long! My side wanted to cramp at towards the end but I found out that really focusing and controlling my breathing kept the cramp from getting really bad, it still nagged a little bit but mostly just in the back of my mind. I figure I jogged atleast 8 minutes, maybe even 10, I'm not really sure because I was measuring distance this time instead of minutes.
Anyhoo I also lost a pound! I've finally broken this damn plateau that I've been at for nearly a month! So down to 215 and I met my April goal!

Well, it's may 1st and I met my April goal so that means it's time to make a goal for may! My goal this month is to lose 5 lbs. and make it down to 210, that's 1.25 lbs. a week, which I think is aboslutely doable, and I'm thinking I might even lose a little more if I keep up with this jogging that I've started! I'm not really looking forward to tonights jog because I'm really sore, some of it is soreness in my muscles because they're not used to getting work, and that's a good type of sore, but my knees are also hurting, and that's not a good kind of sore :( When I jog I'm trying to take tiny steps and really concentrate on each step being as low impact as possible. The good thing is I know as I get stronger and lose more weight it will be easier on my knees so it can only get better right?
anyhoo I hope everyone's had a great weekend and good luck for the upcoming week!
Well, it rained last night so I didn't go for my jog, and it's raining again today, and I checked the weather and it's supposed to rain 5 out of the next 7 days X-( So at first I was depressed and wondering what I was going to do with myself for exercise, but then I decided to just say "screw this crappy weather" and go jogging anyway. It's not pouring, just sprinkling right now, so I'm going to go change my clothes this second and go for a jog.
see you when I get back!!
well, I went for a jog/walk, about 2 miles, and I'm feeling great (although really tired) and proud of myself that I actually went. So now it's off to work! I hope ya'll have a great day :D
I'm going to start a new journal. I really need to re-evaluate things and start a new phase of my weight loss journey and so I'm going to leave this old journal behind and begin anew. If anyone cares to take a peek here's a link to my new journal (http://diettalk.com/forums/showthread.php?p=610555#post610555)
