I really didn't know what I would say when I got here, however, I thought this might be a good place to start. People have said it gives one another level of accountability. I need something.... I will take accountability at this point and work on motivation next. I know, one should be motivated when starting a whole new life pattern. I just can't seem to dig it up. It must be hidden. Don't feel it!!! My sugars are up and it is funny, but I just don't seem to be bothered by it. I think I am tired right now and am hoping tomorrow I will feel more like I should. Oh, what is different about tomorrow is I am going back on program and work on losing some more weight. I know I have gained some back and want to take some off before my daughter and her baby get here from Vegas. It is strange, but whever I start to get some weight loss success behind me, I end up eating again. It is almost like I can't handle the success!! I am going to take this day by day instead of at larger stretches of time. I need to get a scale and will be planning that in the next couple of weeks. Right now I am working so much, I don't have much chance to shop. Today, my goal for tomorrow is to eat within my calorie allowance and carb limits. Actually I have another 20 minutes and good things there aren't any potato chips or candy or whatever sitting here or I would eat it with the excuse of my starting my program tomorrow. Well, I guess it is good night to the old me!! Tomorrow is a new start!!!

Welcome barefootn, I wish you all the best on your weight loss journay.
I know how you feel about losing then gaining it back. I have done that a few times myself. I think we just have to face it and know that this is not a diet, it is a life stlye change. We have to eat healthy.

Last year after 2 years I had lost 149 pounds. Then My knees went bad so I stop exercing then started my old way of eating and gained 60 pounds back.

So Just know that we can still do this. New day!
I will check back and see how you are doing. anything I can do to help just let me know.

Good Luck Barefootn,
I see you are planning to use the basic diabetic meal plan. That can work wonders when used properly. I know it did for me but like many others here I gained weight back and am now in the process of trying to lose it again. It is doable. Hang in there and let me know if I can help in any way!

Hi there, (I know you told me your real name BUT I forgot so will you please tell me again )

I am delighted to see you posting your Journal here . I want to share something with you in the fact of NOT LOOKING BACK TO THE PAST -- EXCEPT TO LEARN

Today is a new day ... YOU HAVE THE POWER AND THE ABILITY TO MAKE THIS DAY WHATEVER YOU CHOOSE -- THAT'S THE KEY WORD CHOOSE

I am looking forward to hearing about YOUR SUCCESSES. Have and make it a great day .. btw I did read your post in the diabetic forum and if I can ever be of any assistance in any way YOU LET ME KNOW. Just bear in mind I'M NOT AN EXPERT ON ANYTHING OTHER THAN MYSELF (Lol and sometimes I question that too). Always, Monica
