So I'm fat. I've never gotten used to it and i never want to...i want rid of it. I'm 28 years old and 293lbs! I can't take it anymore!

I started the idiot proof diet on Tuesday and am feeling great! I even walked to work the other day and it only took me 20 minutes! It felt so wonderful to accomplish it!

My biggest hurdle (besides myself) is my husband. He is more than 100lbs heavier than I am but won't do anything about it. It will take a heart attack for him to realize he needs to lose it. But, i am not letting him stop my success. (In the past I always wanted to lose weight together or force him to do it with me...never works!) I need to focus on myself. Maybe if he sees me doing well he'll get motivate and do it for himself.

My goals: lose 130lbs or more; eat healthier and sensibly, exercise more

Oh I hate exercising I'm so self conscious and hate breaking a sweat. The only thing i don't mind is walking. So, i've set myself up with a walking DVD so that I don't have an excuse when the weather sucks.

Well, that is all for now! :)

Congratulations on finding this group. :) I am new to this healthy eating too. I am trying WW points to see how that goes for me. I have only done it 2 days now and it seems really simple. Good luck with your walking and try to keep positive and don't give up! :peace:

Hey Drc, welcome here! I am so glad that you are going to do this for you. Hubbies don't always get it, and maybe never will but you need to do this for you!!! You sound really good, I love your healthy plan!!! Hang on to it, keep doing what you know is right and healthy, no matter what the scale says.

One idea, take your measurements now! No matter how hard it is, just use the numbers as a starting point. Often we lose inches before we lose alot of pounds, do'nt worry that is healthy. And it is exciting to see the inches go as well as the pounds.

I look forward to chatting with you sometime.

Oh, I almost forgot, don't be afraid of the sweat. It is just a sign that you are getting that body to work hard and you are strengthing your heart, lungs, circulatory system etc. It is really good for you. Walking is a great thing to do!!!!!!!!

SWEAT is good! I find it kind of embarrasing sometimes when I'm in the gym... but at least I don't look how I did when I came in, because that would be a sure sign of slacking off !!!

Focus on yourself. For now at least. :D

Good luck~ and welcome to DT! You can & WILL do this!

:cheer:

Well, it's my first weekend on the new healthy path and so far so good. I've tried browsing around and reading other people's inspiring stories...it really helps to see all the good everyone is doing and i know that i will be right behind you all. How do you guys get those little counters in your profile? They are adorable.

Anyways, after reading a bunch of posts i think i need to set some short term as well as long term goals since I have so much to lose. Since it is my first week and I know you usually lose more the first week I am shooting for 5lbs. by next Friday, the 10th. After that I am not sure if I should set bi-weekly goals or monthly...or not set dates but just aim for a certain weight...

I'm so excited for tomorrow...on my plan it is my fruit and vege day...i've been craving fruit all week! I just have to be good and not over-indulge (especially with the watermelon...yum!)

Well, have a good night...

Hello! And welcome to Diettalk...

I sweat a lot.. I mean A LOT.. and more than most other people.. Well, from my forehead, anyway.. and I turn red and I stay red for an hour? It only bothers me when people from the "real world" see me workout for the first time.. Because the adrenalin rush you feel, for which you must sweat, is TOTALLY worth it!

Good luck and I look forward to sharing your successes. :)

So today wasn't as exciting as I thought it would be. I had fruit for breakfast which was yummy, but then for lunch and dinner I could barely eat my veges...I craved all the bad stuff and almost gave in! It is now almost 8pm and I am holding out...so far so good. Tomorrow real food.

The weather isn't helping either...Winter has returned! The roads suck and there is nothing on tv so I think that is contributing to my wanting to eat..boredom.

I wish there was someone here I could talk to who was going throught hte same thing I was. i think what they say about having a diet buddy is true. I usually have a hard time telling people that I am dieting though. I think I am afraid of always being under their scrutiny, but I also want someone to be there and push me when i need it and encourage me.

Well, until tomorrow...
