So much for starting back up monday.School is starting around here . I have 5 kids need I say more.Plus my youngest child is going to school it a bitter, sweet thing.Heck who am I kidding I feel old.I went to my daughters meet the teacher last night Middle school ,its more like highschool she has a teacher for each subject and this period and that.
Okay, enough self pity . I have my own schooling I'm going back to school myself.COLLEGE Oh dear God HELP .I was home schooled.Look out world there is a house wife on the loose. My family is very supportive, that means my husband too.He even offered to cook. That means B.Q. ,no sauce for me thanks.
Well ,this is my new stress . I have held my weight I lost last week. So Iam not feeling that bad.But I need to get back on track.

I'm sure you will do fine with college. Its all about time management. If anything you probably have an advantage because you were home schooled.

Here are some tips about college from one student to another:

1. Always go to class.
2. Read the text and take notes on the chapter before going to class.
3. Review your notes and reread the chapter after class.
4. Write yourself review questions or use index cards to review the material that is difficult.
5. Sleep is preferable over studying all night. It will cause mental exhaustion that will cause you not do as well as if you had slept.

Hey, Irish! Good for you on coming back.... but no need to feel ashamed. Falling "off the wagon" is part of the journey. We all do it and hopefully we learn from it and move on.

Sounds like you are off to a good start and a great attitude is half the battle! Good luck to you and have a great week!

This week has been very stressful. My mom is up because my sister had her baby. She means well but always picks at me and my husband and children. I end up being peace maker and get so stressed out. My face broke out and my tummy has been in knots.I have been eating badly.
But today I am going to get back on the right track.I'm really tried of being fat.http://www.smileycons.com/img/classic/0246.gif

Hi Irish,

Remember to breathe and keep your head held high!!!! People (especially family) can be downers sometimes, we just have to keep our spirits up and our feet moving forward because in the end they are the ones who will look bad!!

Hope you can get back on track!!

Hey, Rose..... don't let anyone make you feel badly. Let things be what they are going to be and if you stop being a buffer, maybe she'll suffer some natural consequences and stop picking. I'm so sorry that you're face is breaking out and your not feeling well. Isn't it amazing what stress can do to us??

Take care of yourself and I'm glad you're doing a bit better with everything. How's your sister and her baby doing? I hope they are just fine... what a wonderful early Christmas gift!

Have a good rest of your week and smile..... things are getting better!

Today I went back on the prism diet. There is no support group here for it, but it's a diet that works for me with my sugar problems. So in stead of a support group I'm going to use this journal.

Today was awesome ,the report I was stressing out about got an "A". I also have stayed on my diet plan.I am feeling realy good but my mom also went home. Man ,that sound bad. I do love her, she just makes me feel bad about myself. But today I feel great!http://www.smileycons.com/img/froggies/dance-frog.gif

LOL, Rose..... I'm so glad you are feeling better. That's a shame that your mom makes you feel badly about yourself. My mom does that sometimes, but she has no idea. I think sometimes it's more how I'm taking it than what she's really throwing out there. She lives with us, though.... so I can't send her home!

Take care and have a great weekend! Sounds like you are off to a great start!

Glad to hear your back into the swing of things!!! I don't think I've heard of the prism diet. What is it about? Keep up the good work!

Prism is a christian based diet. There are 4 differnt stages to it, each stage has a book that has a daily reading. I am on stage 1.

FRUIT & VEGETABLES
All food in this group (except potatoes)

BREADS & CEREALS
Use daily exchange list below
* Up to 1 cup of any whole grain ,sugar free hot cereal or cold
* Up to 1 cup Rice (preferably brown)
* All crackers, chips, rolls, breads, white flour products, tortillas, snack & pastas are not allowed.
* you may have up to 3 large unflavored rice cakes a day.

MEATS / PROTIEN
All choices in this group including all beans , legumes, lentils, eggs & peanut butter.

MILK/DAIRY
All choices in this group, but try for low fat and low sugar.
No desserts

You can eat 1,200 cal a day if you weigh more than 250 your cal. can be up to 1,500.

It is very hard to get on it. I lost alot of weight after I had my 3rd child on it. I weighted 279 and went down to 199 then I had another baby. I have had a hard time with no support group this time.http://www.pwlp.com/about.htmThis is the prism web

That sounds really intresting, Rose..... very strict, though. Do you have any leeway to make your own decisions and alterations? But if you're losing and feel healthy, it's a good thing then. I just don't know if I could go without desserts... but then again, that might be why I'm do darned fat! *grin*

Hope you're having a good weekend!

It's hard to get started . At first your body goes throught sugar withdraws. That's if you eat sugar to begin with . Exersize is my weakness .I don't eat much sugar or white flour anyways because of my sugar problem. I have a problem beng eating. So the control is good for me . I can't afford those prepackaged meal diets like "Jenny" .

That's great, Irish! Sounds like it's working for you..... I'd probably go through terrible sugar withdrawals.... I eat WAY too much sugar.

Take care and have a good weekend if I don't get back in here.

My b-day is coming up this next month. I'll be 34. I want to lose ten pounds by the 13th of Feb. I think that a reasonable goal.http://www.smileycons.com/img/cloud/cloudiescope.gifI am looking forward to reaching it even if its not a whole lot. That is what a bag of flour weighs.
