momof2kz 10-14-06, 07:25 PM well i am starting my journal.
i start the dieting on monday. but today my hubby and i went out to site in our guns for hunting and then went out to the woods to find a spot to hunt. and that ended up being good exercise. we walked for about 20 min. found a spot for me and then got lost going in circles finding a spot for him. found our way back and found a good spot for him to sit and then walked 20 min. back to the truck. so about 1 hour of walking. little chilly today, but still a good walk.
i still don't know what to do for exercise each morning before i go to work. maybe a dance video, or just 20 min. on the bowflex. i don't know. i thought i would do one or the other before i go to bed too.
any suggestions???
i'll write again on monday and let u know how the first day of trying to eat better goes.
Vulgarian20 10-14-06, 07:30 PM Good start in the morning could be depending on your mood for the day. Sometimes a quite morning with yoga is good. Other times doing cardio and getting an energy boost is the way to go. It is all up to you.
momof2kz 10-15-06, 03:37 PM today is the last day before i start my diet, also my birthday. i just can't stop feeling like i need to eat everything i know i shouldn't have before i start my diet. i have had a few handfuls of m&m's a mountain dew, and i can't get mcdonalds out of my head. i want to go there for supper, for the last time. i know i really shouldn't but then again i'm not technically on my diet yet. i think i'll just pack in too many calories today and then tomorrow i'll feel even better about starting a diet. aaaaaaaaaaggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
this is going to be tough, i hate trying to diet, i can never make it past day 3 before falling off the wagon and going back to my regular eating habits.
?????????????????
Vulgarian20 10-15-06, 06:58 PM It all about lifestyle and protion control. You can go to mcdonalds. It about eat right. You don't have to get a salad. You can get a small fry, a cheesburger, and maybe and ice tea to drink. Thats not going to cause a lot of damage. Its just being able to control your impulses to order a combo and a soft drink. And if you can't control those impulses when you first start dieting don't eat out until you can. Another thing you might want to consider is finding a subsitute for colas. There is tea, diet colas, energy drinks, coffee, or just plain water. There is a lot fo sugar in colas which contribute to people gaining weight. If you just cut cola out of you diet you will lose a significant amount of weight.
By the way
:cheer: :bdaybanne :cheer:
 :bdaybanne  :bdaybanne
Hope you ENJOY your day!!!!!:)
Oh Sweety, I know all about that nasty fast food....
I was the QUEEN of eating that stuff 8-|
GO..Enjoy...and get it out of the way.
The way I learned to control those urges was to find something close to it but healthier.
You really don't have to eat like a rabbit
Have a GREAT Birthday
lynn

Dana
momof2kz 10-17-06, 11:36 PM thank u so much dana. i enjoyed chatting also.
does anyone know of some good filling breakfast ideas? i eat a bowl of cereal and a few hours later i feel like i haven't eaten for days. i don't like oatmeal or at least haven't found a way to make it that i like. i would like to find something to fill me up a little more in the morning so i don't HAVE to have a snack before lunch. any suggestions????????????
later
My suggestion is to (1) eat some protein at breakfast, actually at every meal
(an egg, egg beaters, toast with PB) and (2) eat a mid morning snack. If you are hungry then your body needs the food. If you don't eat when you are hungry, you will have a very difficult time sticking with your plan. I look at this way, if I am hungry then I know my metabolism is being worked. Eventually, if you don't eat when you are hungry, your metabolism will slow down and your body will hold onto every last calorie, making losing weight very difficult. So enjoy a nice peice of fruit ( apples are great ) for your midmorning snack. If you get hunger pains at mid afternoon, I suggest the same thing for the same reasons. Hope this helps you!
demogal22 10-18-06, 12:55 PM Hwy sis,
Thanks for telling me about this site!! I think that we can both benefit from it, and we can keep in touch and help each other this way too!! I haven't joined any chats yet, but will have to try it one day soon. Keep up the good work, you can do it. I found a new drink, Snapple white tea with raspberry, very good! Didn't like the lipton green tea one. Talk to you later.
Whoopee 10-18-06, 02:14 PM Hi Niki!
What I'm thinking of doing now that might help me, and maybe you too, is to leave things EASY to fix around that are low in cals...like even SlimFast. Know what I mean?
How do you feel about that?
Whoopee
Hey Nikki,
I know that today is day 3 for you so wanted to come in and cheer you on. I love that you are asking for helpful ideas, that is excellent. I don't always have a typical breakfast food for breakfast. I might have a sandwich or some leftovers from the night before. Dana's suggestion is good about making sure you have some protein and some complex carbs would help too.
I also enjoyed chat last night!!! Thanks for coming.
momof2kz 10-18-06, 06:15 PM thank you crazy, i hope i can make it past day 3. i made out a list of incentives for myself. when i lose 10lbs. i can go buy something for myself, same for 15 and 20 lbs. at 35 lbs go get some new clothes and then 45 get my nails done and at 55 my goal, a big shopping spree to fill my closet and dresser with all new clothes that fit. hopefully that will help me stick to it. i want so badly to be able to go to the store and buy the cute in style clothes and actually have them fit and look good on me. i really cant' wait for that day and if i have to i will take a loan out from the bank to buy them.HA HA HA
i'll have to give myself more time in the mornings to make a better breakfast, with some protein. i was going to have pb today but it has 200 calories, so i went with just butter. i usually have a snack after each meal. so i eat every 3 hours and don't eat after 7pm. my snack is usually yogurt, or string cheese or fruit.
i was a little naughty today and bought a soda, but it was diet and caffeine free. other then that doing good.
my urban rebounder showed up today, so i can start exerciseing on that in the mornings and at night. i want to walk, but only have one stroller and my 3 year old walks pretty slow. but i still need to try right? right!!!!
well better go for now, i'll be back later to see if anyone is chatting.
thanks again to all
momof2kz 10-18-06, 09:17 PM does any one know how many calories are in chepolte sauce at subway? that is what i usually have on a sub instead of mayo. but if i do go there at some point i'll have to go with nothing right? i'm just trying to keep some options open for myself so i don't go too crazy on just diet foods.
my hubby asked me what i want for xmas, and i told him i'll be skinnier by then so i'll need new clothes. now i just have to make sure that does happen.
later
Hey Nikki, I see you have your new name how, Hurray!!! And you are of course a proud mom!!!!!!!
I jsut checked fitday and one Tablespoon of butter is 102 calories and a Tablespoon of peanut butter is 95 calories. IMO, I would say go for the peanut butter, even if you have 2 tbsp because it is much more nutritious and will keep you feeling full longer. Skip the butter.
As for the sauce, are you sure that is what it is called. I checked their site and I saw alot of sauces but not that one. But here is the link to the site that I use: http://www.shapefit.com/subway.html
Oops, just tried another site and found it. For every 1.5 tbsp it is 100 calories.
http://www.dietbites.com/subway-calories-2.html
momof2kz 10-18-06, 10:45 PM thank you nancy, i will go with PB next time.
i can't believe how helpful this site is, i am so glad i found it. everyone here is great. 5 more days til my first weigh in since i started. hoping to see at least a lose of 2 pounds.
later
momof2kz 10-19-06, 07:57 PM well today is my 4th day on the diet and for lunch i messed up. i had fried chicken and mashed potatoes and green beans and a diet mountain dew. so for supper i only had 1/4 of a pb and jelly sandwich. i drank half of my water for the day and still have a few hours before i go to be so i will try to get the rest in before then
i forgot to change my alarm clock so i didn't get up early to exercise today. but i will tonight and then tomorrow morning again.
usually when i mess up i give up. but i can't this time. i really need to do this for me and for my family. i want to have energy to play with my kids more. so i need to do this. it may take longer then i want it to, (if i keep messing up) but i will get there. i want to be wearing a pair of cute shorts and a little tank top next summer.
I THINK I CAN! I THINK I CAN! I THINK I CAN!
later
momof2kz 10-19-06, 11:41 PM i am happy to report i drank all my water for the day. i have a very full bladder but i drank 93 oz. of water. now i have to go pee one more time and then i can go to bed.
later
Great Job Niki! Keep it up
demogal22 10-20-06, 03:42 PM I see that you went for fried chicken and mashed potatoes? I have read in several books and sites that it's OK to do that for one meal once a week, because your body needs it. So I don't think you should be discouraged!! I had no soda yesterday, so going to try and keep that up. Have to drink more water (93 oz). See that you did it yesterday! Good for you.
For subway - I also think they have a "light" mayo that you can ask for, have to check the website.
Try McD's grilled bacon ranch salad too. Might have to skip the ranch dressing for your own, but it comes in a packet, so it's not on the salad already. This is good too! I got in 20 min. of strength training in last night and 4 sets of stairs at work.
Keep up the good work!
We'll get there!!
mommydyanna 10-20-06, 03:59 PM Niki,
One of my favorite sauces at subway is the Fat free sweet onion dressing. Yummy! Subway's website also shows nutrition information. Another good website to use is www.calorieking.com/foods. It has a link to fast food & family restaurants, fruits & veggies, etc.
You're doing great, keep up the good work!
Momma D
Nikki,
Yeah, I do'nt see a big mess up there. You evened out the calories for the day anyways. It is all about calories in versus calories out, no matter what plan you do.
Glad to see you hanging in there, you passed the dreaded day 4 very well I think!!!!!
Whoopee 10-20-06, 07:09 PM You're doing good hon. Keep it up!
Whoopee
momof2kz 10-20-06, 08:34 PM well it's day 5 and i think i did ok. only 1179 calories in so far and it's 6:31pm. so i will have a snack and i need to drink a lot more water. slacking on that today. i also really need to start exercising. i just don't like to do it by myself, but i have no one to do it with, so i will just have to. i tried my rebounder last night and my legs got pretty tired. it's a lot of bouncing on a little trampoline. it's good cario though, i was pooped out after 15 min. so i think if i can keep up and do that 4 or 5 days a week and try to get the kids out for a walk a few times a week if it's not too cold and then the bowflex i should be set.
thanks for all the help on food suggestions and sites. i can't wait till monday to see if i lost any. i might not, i haven't done much exercise to burn off what i'm eating. but i'm working on that.
i'll be around tonight if anyone wants to chat.
later
momof2kz 10-20-06, 11:35 PM ok food for today
BF- onion bagle/ butter, glass of oj
Lunch- healthy choice dinner, 210 calories
and red grapes
snack- slice of apple pie (diet)
Supper- grilled chicken breast covered with mushrooms and swiss cheese, broccolli and baby carrots, and water (plus 5 french fries of the kids)
snack- microwave popcorn, water
momof2kz 10-21-06, 12:55 PM well i had more protein in my breakfast today. i had scrambled eggs and toast with 1% milk. then i rearranged our computer room which is also the exercise room. i moved the spare queen size bed out and moved the boflex back to where i can start using it. just moving that thing alone is a workout. so now i am set to start doing my exercising each day. no more excuses.
my 19 month old daughter is having a trigger thumb release surgery on thursday. we put it off once cuz she was sick and now she is sounding stuffed up again. it's not too big of a surgery, but they do have to put her out for it and then cast her whole arm for 10 days. just for a little cut on her thumb. my 3 year old had the same thing done when she was 2. it's a nerve racking day just watching them get put under and then waiting. even though it's an in and out surgery, something could go wrong and she's so little. no way of knowing how she will react to anestetics. hopefully all goes well like it did with my older daughter.
well i will post the rest of my food later today. have a good one.

momof2kz 10-21-06, 01:23 PM anyone here of t-tapp?
anyone doing t-tapp?
does it work?
just want to know, saw a web site on it and can't really figure out what it really is all about. the success stories sound good, but they always do when they are trying to sell their product.
any input would be helpful, thanks
later
momof2kz 10-21-06, 08:17 PM ok here's my food for today, i went over on calories. i think from the dressing on the salad at lunch and using butter on potatoes for dinner
BF- scambled eggs, 2 slices wheat toast, butter, cup of 1% milk
lunch- chicken ceasar salad from mcd's ceasar dressing, water
snack-90 calorie granola bar
dinner-broiled cod, corn, boiled poataoes, water
snack- won't have on tonight, just drink the rest of my water
hopefully i can stay within my calorie limit after today. i don't want to go over too much in the first few weeks i'm on this diet.
i saw a comercial for a norditrack spacesaver eliptical. and i want it. but of course they are too much $$$$$$$$, so i will have to use what i have and save up for that. it would be nice to have that and then i have pretty much all i need right at home. the bowflex for weight training and toning, the rebounder for cardio and then the eliptical. i can dream can't i.
i'll be around if anyone is in chat tonight. i'll check back later.
have a good one
later
Hey nikki,
Looks like you had a great day!!! Good for you!!!
Ah yes, we love to dream about all the wonderful equipment there is out there don't we, lol
Super congrats on day 6, almost a whole week!!!
t-tap is GREAT ! I just hired my own personal t-tap trainer - BUT you dont need to do that - I did as of my back injuries. If you want to PM me and I will help you pick the best workout there - as it can be confusing. Also their office is GREAT to call - I called and said "this is how much I can spend and this is what I need/want to do" and they never pushed me to spend more $$ and were very supportive.
I will say a prayer for your little one for this Thursday :)
momof2kz 10-22-06, 10:49 AM thank you for the prayer beth. i will pm u to get some info.
thanks
demogal22 10-22-06, 03:00 PM I think you had a pretty good week. You may have gone off just a tad, but think about how different it was compared to what you were eating before!! You cut out a lot of junk and added some exercise, which is GREAT!! Just keep adding the exercise as you go, it will get easier. I've not had a soda in 4days now. I tried some diet Mountain Dew, it was pretty good, I could drink that once in a while. I still have to get in my water and more exercise too. I will be taking measurements so I can track that as well. I will post that on the weigh in forum when I post my weigh in totals each week. Can't wait to see how you did for the first week, just remember to not get discouraged if there isn't a loss, if you didn't gain any then you did good!! If you lost, GREAT!! I'll continue to be here for you whenever you need it!!!! I better go to my journal now and track my food intake for Friday and Saturday. Keep up the good work!!!:D
momof2kz 10-22-06, 03:24 PM well i thought chicken breast was a good thing to eat. but when i went to fit day and logged it there was a lot of calories. i grilled it and had frozen corn. and that was around a 450 calorie lunch. i don't like to go much over 300 for each meal. any suggestions on low cal chicken recipes, that are easy and don't require a lot of ingredients.
that is one big problem i have, i never know what to eat, cuz i need to make easy quick meals widthout all the added ingredients that u normally don't have around the house.
my hubby asked me today if i could have pizza. it's his b-day and the packers are on so we usually get pizza or chinese when we watch the game, i told him go ahead i'd have chicken, he agrued with me for 1/2 hour and then i got him to order it for him and the girls and i had my high cal chicken. i should have just had the pizza.LOL!! he's really trying to support me and didnt' want to eat it in front of me. but i also need to learn to have willpower and say no to something i see that i shouldn't have, so it helped me but in a different way.
hey way to go demogal. the less soda the better. i'm slacking on my water today and i really need to start exercising, to burn off what i'm eating or i won't lose any weight.
better go, watch the rest of the game. GO PACK GO!!!
demogal22 10-23-06, 01:52 AM Hey sis,
For chicken try this: cook chicken in a pan until almost done, add in 1 can of mushroom soup and a little water to make it like a gravy. Cook until done, plus if you make potatoes can put it on that as well. I use the 98% fat free campbells and it is only 50 calories. Tastes really good. I've done it with pork chops as well. I've also heard of people using salsa. I'll look through my cookbooks and see if I can find something. I also have the Biggest Loser Cookbook, so I'll look through there too. Thanks for the 3fatchicks website info. What is that t-tapp thing you asked about?
Good luck tomorrow!!!! :cheer:
Bunches!! %%- :rose:
momof2kz 10-23-06, 08:30 AM ok i know most of it is water weight, but check it out, 6lbs. lost in my first week. i was excpecting to see maybe 3 or 4 but 6 i am so excited. i have to go to work, just wanted to change my weight before i left.
later
Whoohoo!!! 6 pounds gone!!!!
That is just terrific Nikki!!! I am very happy for you!!! Keep up the good work!!!
maximum 10-23-06, 01:19 PM :cheer: 6 Pounds that's awesome! :cheer:
If we have Pizza I limit myself to 2 small slices, and then make a big huge salad to go along with it.
Isn't it funny how R hubbys would like for us to be in shape and thin but then they don't want it to interfere with there life. lol Cracks me up!
If only we had a magic wand!
I think your doing Fab!!
Whoopee 10-23-06, 05:07 PM Great job, Nikki! You're a great example for me that you can quit smoking and lose the weight!
Keep up the good work. You're doing wonderful!
demogal22 10-23-06, 05:30 PM WAY TO GO SIS!!!!
Very happy for you. Unfortunately I didn't have the same luck. My weight stayed the same. Oh well, more exercise and water. I had my last smoke last night. Doing ok so far. No soda since Wed. of last week (except for 1/2 glass of Diet Mountain Dew). Keep up the good work, you'll get there. Check you email, i sent you a bunch of recipes. I also posted one in my last reply from sunday night. Talk to you later.
momof2kz 10-23-06, 07:19 PM thank u all so much. i feel pretty good about it but know that i have to keep working hard to keep it coming off. so i really have to start exercising EVERY day, except sunday. i need one day to rest.LOL!!
i'll be here later tonight to chat.
thanks again

AzureN1ght 10-24-06, 07:06 PM Hey, dropping by to say hello :) Sounds like you're doing really good so far! It was nice having a chat with you earlier this week, and I appreciate you dropping by my journal.
Y'know what? Getting 15mins of cardio a day is WAY better than getting none. And you'll have to work up to the point where your body's ready to do some more. It's a process.
I'll drop by again soon m'dear.

momof2kz 10-24-06, 07:52 PM thanks for stopping by, it's always nice to hear from you. i know i could do more exercise, i'm just still lazy. i used to take an areobic class with my sister and that was an hour. but then again there were lots of people there. now i'm at home alone no one to push me on. but i'll get there. once i see the scale stay at one number or start going up i'll know i HAVE to do more. cuz i really want and need to get to my goal weight this time. i'm sick of trying and then giving up and then trying and so on. so this is it!!!!

Leah'sMoving 10-24-06, 11:53 PM Hi Niki! I searched and found your journal and thought I would come and visit!
You've lost 6 pounds way to go!!
I have the exercise thing under control but not the eating yet so I haven't lost any weight really.
What calorie level are you shooting for?
Anyway I am beat and off to bed. Have a wonderful evening.
Love Leah
momof2kz 10-25-06, 09:32 AM hey leah, thanks for looking for me and stopping by. i try to stay around 1200 or 1300 calories. which is about half of what i was normally eating in a day. i actually did 20 min of kickboxing this morning before work. so i'm happy about that, but i need to do more. that only burned about 200 calories.
gotta go to work.
later
demogal22 10-25-06, 12:57 PM Just wanted to stop in and see how things were going. I see you're getting in more exercise than me. Which means I need to step it up to keep up with you. Going on 3rd day without a smoke, and it doesn't even bother me. I tried some Diet Sprite Zero last night, tastes like sprite, but without the sugar and caffeine. Been doing good on the diet part, just need to drink more water consistantly and exercise more. Keep up the great work!!!! I'm proud of you!!! :1stprize:
mommydyanna 10-25-06, 02:41 PM Momof2 - So happy to see you bumped up your calories a little! Thanks for popping into my journal lately! I do love visitors! Way to "kickstart" your morning!
Take Care,
Momma D
Leah'sMoving 10-25-06, 05:20 PM Hi Niki
In response to your question in my journal...no I don't think the walking helps me lose weight, I think it basically makes it so that I don't gain more weight. Perhaps if I could get my eating under control I would see a difference that the walking would make , right now I don't.
Love Leah
momof2kz 10-25-06, 06:41 PM hey leah
either way the walking is good for you. i was just wondering cuz so many people i talk to use the walking tapes.as long as we don't gain it back that's what helps us to keep pushing forward. talk to u later
niki
Hey Nikki,
Hey don't knock the 200 calories burned!!! That is great. It is like you ate 200 less calories than you did, it made your muscles get stronger(metabolism boost) and it made your heart and lungs stronger also.
You only get out of walking what you put into it. Some people have lost tons by walking but they work hard at it, they push themselves to do the best they absolutely can. But it is also a good maintenance exercise, you don't have to be so intense. Yet the food intake has to be on track also.
Keep up the good work!!!
momof2kz 10-25-06, 09:50 PM thanks for stopping by nancy, it's alway nice to hear from you. i might stop by later, right now my mom is here to stay the night and babysit hannah while the hubby and i take brianna in for her surgery tomorrow morning. but i might stop back after she goes to bed, and i'll wait up for doug to get home from work.
food for today
BF- special k cereal 1%milk
snack-red apple and peanutbutter
lunch-salad
supper-chicken breast, mixed veggies, 2 slices wheat bread
lots of water today and half a diet 7up
20 min of kickboxing in the morning and 10 min of it on lunch break at work
talk to u all later
Nikki,
What is Brianna's surgery for? I think I missed it if you have mentioned it already. Will say a prayer for her and for you two. It is hard when kids have to have surgery, even for minor things.
momof2kz 10-26-06, 07:27 AM thank you for the prayer. it is a trigger thumb release. her thumb is locked at the knuckle and they go in and cut the tendeon to realese it. since she is so young, they put her out and then put a cast on up to her shoulder so she can't play with it. hannah had the same thing done when she was 2 years old. it's a nerve racking day to see them put out like that. anything could go wrong even in a simple surgery like this one. i have been praying for a few days now. i always worry too much, but i can't help it they are my babies.
i'll let everyone know how it goes later. have a good day
later
mommydyanna 10-26-06, 08:47 AM Nikki,
Hope everything goes well. I know I would be a bundle of nerves & pent up anxiety if it were Kaydence. Just remember to breathe. Your in my prayers today.
Momma D
momof2kz 10-26-06, 05:12 PM hello
brianna's surgery went well. she was mad, lots of crying. the iv in her little hand was bothering her and the nurse kept playing with it and the said she'd take it out but then waited 15 min. and finally did and then bri started calming down more. she was very cuddly for a while when we got her home and then started playing and getting used to the cast on and not being able to use that hand. cast and stitches removed next week friday.
with all that today i was bad and ate 1/2 a cinammon raisin muffin waiting in the waiting room and then mcdonalds for lunch when we got home. so i only have 300 calories left for the day. so i'll have to drinks lots of water and eat a lite supper. and get in some kickboxing yet tonight and for sure tomorrow morning.
hopefully i didn't screw myself up too much by eating mcd's today, i dont' want to gain any back already that would be bad.

AzureN1ght 10-26-06, 05:20 PM Niki! *hug* Thank you for dropping by my journal and all the well-wishes. I had no idea your daughter was going in for surgery! I hope it went okay--do let us know how your little girl is doing, okay? Hang in there, my friend. Diet-wise, you're looking great!
Edit: Looks like we posted at the exact same time. :) I'm glad Bri's surgery went well, and that she seems to be coping. Don't worry about the McD's. Unless you eat more calories than your body needs to maintain, you'll be fine. And since your calories are cut for diet purposes and you say you've got 300 left, you'll be just fine. Heck, I could eat 1350 calories of McDonald's and nothing else every day and lose weight, it's all about calories in < calories burned--though my arteries likely wouldn't thank me :)

Whoopee 10-26-06, 07:47 PM Nikki, sorry to hear your little girl was operated on. Glad she's doing well tho.
Don't be hard on yourself for eating at MickeyD's. We all slip. You'll probably get back to it tomorrow. Good luck!
Keep us posted about your daughter and the diet, ok?
HikerDarlene 10-26-06, 08:29 PM I am so sorry too Niki.
Dont fret over your diet for today. Nothing you can do with the kind of day you had today. If fact you did great considering all the stress and being out.
momof2kz 10-26-06, 09:53 PM thanks guys!! Brianna is doing pretty good. she is in good spirits and running around playing. we all wrote on her cast and let her scribble on it too. she loved it. she took a good 3 hour nap (normal nap is 1 hour) so that helped her. plus she was up at 5:30am to go to hospital. but after the day she had she is doing very good. acting like nothing is wrong, which makes me feel alittle better too.
since i had mcd's today, i had a can of soup for supper, only 80 calories. and then did 30 min of rebounder/kickboxing/cardio so burned a few calories there, plus plan on getting up early to do more. woo hoo i feel like going running for some reason and i hate to run. maybe some day i will give it a try again.
hope you all have a good night, i gotta go play with the girls.

demogal22 10-27-06, 12:18 AM Hi sis!
Glad Bri is doing better. She'll be fine, just like Hannah was, and it's only for a week. It will fly by. Even though you ate at McD's you still stayed within your calorie intake, so it's not that terrible, plus you added some exercise, shouldn't hurt you too much, if at all! Finally got in 40 min of exercise tonight using the Biggest Loser DVD. It was a work out - was sweatin bad, had to shower after. It has a 6 week workout schedule you can use, or can customize your own. I used the pre scheduled one, and it did the job!! I'll bring it Sunday, I might try to get you a copy by then. Have a good night.
momof2kz 10-27-06, 09:53 AM hey sis,
good job on the exercise. i can't get in more then 30 min and i quit. please try to bring a copy for me that would be great. she's a good girl, i know she'll be fine.
later
demogal22 10-27-06, 04:28 PM I didn't think I'd make it through the dvd either. When they show them grunting, and moaning, it's real, they do it on the dvd as well. It's nice to see the people from last year on the dvd (not at their skinniest either). The tape is pretty easy, but intensive!! I'll work on that copy for you. I've got lots of recipes too!! C-ya Sunday.
P.S. Give the girls big hugs and kisses!
momof2kz 10-27-06, 07:57 PM hello

later.
HikerDarlene 10-28-06, 08:56 PM Your plan for Applebees sounds good. And you still having alittle candy is also good, cause if we forbid ourselves of something, that can lead to bad things. A little of something planned is better than alot of something we dont plan.
spartsgal08 10-29-06, 12:05 PM Have fun at Applebee's, their chicken breasts are amazing.
catnas24 10-29-06, 12:34 PM Hiya Nikie,

BF-cereal,1%milk
snack-apple,PB
lunch-healthy choice garlic pizza, yogurt
dinner-egg beaters,toast, 8 oz. mountain dew
i needed to treat myself or i'd go crazy, so i only had 1/2 of a 16 oz. bottle.
i did get in 30 min of cardio kickboxing, i plan to try and do that dvd wed, thur, and fri mornings and then mon and tue nights. plus fit in my bowflex for strenght training 3 days a week.
i'm trying to talk doug into letting me get an elliptical, which i want to use for 40 min each morning. i think i would like that better. but we'll see.
my sister is great, she found the biggest loser exercise dvd on ebay and got it for me. she uses it and says it's a good workout. so i'll have that in a few weeks and work that into my week also. change things around a little and then hopefully i don't get to sick of exercising everyday and give up on it. well better go for now. i'll make it to chat tonight but will be a few minutes late. have to put little Bri to bed.

Good job, what a great start to November!!! Congratulations.
AzureN1ght 11-01-06, 01:51 PM Hey, awesome job on getting up early to get some exercise in! It's hard to be motivated in the mornings, but you're right--it feels really good to do it :)
Pretty nice way to start a brand-new month!
--Azure
momof2kz 11-01-06, 10:27 PM well i was having a good day until i started cooking supper and couldn't stop myself from having some candy. it tasted so good i had another. then after supper i had a few more. after supper i was only at 998 calories i figured i could have a piece or two, but then i went overboard. i felt like crap. so i did a dvd, belly, butt and thighs, it's a 10 min workout for each area of the body. so 30 min of toning(i think that is what u would call it) i feel alittle better. except my thighs are killing me from that and the cardio kickboxing lastnight and this morning. u do a lot of the moves in the squat position on that dvd. anyway, i need to step up a little now to work off all that candy before weigh in on monday.
EXERCISE EXERCISE EXERCISE that's the only way that i can get to where i want to be. i have to push myself no matter who much i don't want to.
I JUST HAVE TO!!
BF-egg beaters,2 slices toast,1%milk
snack-strawberry special k bites 90 cal.
lunch-salad
dinner-spaghetti,whole wheat noodles(20 cal. less then regular) 2 slices toast, water
3-4 bite size candybars(bad,bad)
drank 3/4 of my water for the day.
later
demogal22 11-02-06, 12:10 PM Hey sis!!
Don't get to down on yourself..... I did some digging and this is what I found for calories on candy.....
25 small jellybeans 140
20 pieces of candy corn 100
2 Brachs caramels 80
2 Hershey's Kisses 50
1 mini Tootsie Roll 25
1 Fun Size candy bar (Snickers, Milky Way, Butterfingers, etc.) 80
1 mini bite-size candy bar (Snickers, Milky Way, Butterfingers, etc.) 55
1 Fun Size M&M packet - Plain or Peanut 90
1 mini Reese's Peanut Butter Cup 33
1 full size chocolate candy bar (Snickers, Hershey, etc.) 275
1 King Size chocolate candy bar (Snickers, Hershey, etc.) 500
1 piece pumpkin pie (1/8 of 9-in pie) 180
So it looks like you probably had 320 calories for the 4 pieces of candy. Still within your calorie intake for the day!!!! Just a lot more sugar than usual probably.
Actually good to know that a bite size candy bar isn't that awful so if I had one once in a while I'd be ok!!
I still need to get in some more exercise before weigh in. Will probably do the biggest loser dvd a couple more times than planned so I can do well in weigh in this Monday!!
Yes I plan on making something "GOOD" for dessert on thanksgiving.
I'll talk to you later.
catnas24 11-02-06, 12:38 PM Hiya Niki,
Dont be too hard on yourself at least you worked out, I'm sure you worked it off......
I'm sure you'll have a Great Weigh in on Monday!
Thanks for doing the research Darcy thats good to know!
Have A Good Day,
Cathy
momof2kz 11-02-06, 05:55 PM thank u sis. i know i shouldn't have but i did and regret it. i will be doing 30 min of tae bo and 20 on the bowflex tonight and get up tomorrow for cardio kick and then belly, butt and thighs tomorrow night. plus some on saturday. hopefully weight in on monday goes good. i feel i'm at that point where if i see a gain i'll give up. i haven't even lost 10 lbs yet and it's going on the end of my 3rd week on a diet. i know it takes time to lose weight but i feel like i'm depriving myself for nothing. going without all the foods i love for a whole week and only losing 1 lbs, sometimes i feel that it just isn't worth all the trouble. counting calories, cutting out soda, exercising, drinking tons of water.
sorry, i'm just having a bad day, craving some good tasting, fatty, high calorie food and a large mountain dew. i'll get over it.
i'm going to go set the girls up with their cartoons and then i'll exercise, and then cook supper. chicken breast again.
later
demogal22 11-02-06, 06:05 PM Hey,
Don't get to down on yourself. I know it's hard..... but you'll get through it. Just think only 3 lbs to go to hit your first goal and you have 13 days to do it in!!!! You can do that!!! One small step at a time. Set your next goal for Christmas, then the next one for end of Jan. and keep going. That way it cuts out looking at the big goal and now you're just working on small (doable) goals, looks alot less scary!!! So don't deprive yourself. Have a piece of candy each day, it really isn't that many calories. As for food, try something else besides chicken..... 96% lean hamburger (one of the biggest loser favs) plus whole wheat bun....veggies if want, low-fat cheese. I think it was around 250 calories. Pork chops and veggies or rice. Make pizzas with tortillas, using low fat cheese, veggies and use some of the hamb, or chicken, see if there is some kind of low cal. pepperoni. This way your not depriving yourself of things you like. Make your own tacos - use the 96% lean hamburger, and use baked corn tortilla chips. If you make your goals each month treat yourself to say a happy meal from McD's or some other fav or yours. This way it's once a month (per say) and if you know your calories for the day, you should be fine!!!
Keep your head up and feet forward.... you'll get there before you know it!!!!
momof2kz 11-02-06, 07:28 PM i know, i know.
does anyone know where to find a site that has true calories burned when exercising? fitday says one thing and sparkpeople says a totally different higher #. so which one do i go with? naturally i want to go with the higher #, but i want to know if i really am burning that many or not.
like for 35 min of tae bo, spark people said like 520 and fitday said only 335. so i'm confused. HELP!!!!! i did also do 20 min on the bowflex. now to go cook supper.
darcy, u know i have to cook around hannah's likes or she won't eat nothing. and she don't eat hamburger, or taco's, or anything different from chicken, pork and fish. and i rather have her eat then me get a better variety.
food for today(yes i was naughty again for lunch)
BF-cereal,1%milk
snack- strawberry special k bites
lunch-fried chicken,mashed potatos,carrots,diet dew
dinner-chicken breast,corn
so far only 1/2 of my water for the day.
later
AzureN1ght 11-02-06, 09:45 PM I think if you want an accurate measure of your calories burned, you should invest in a heart rate monitor for when you exercise. I think those give you not only what your heartrate is while you're working out, but it also gives you an accurate calories burned count based on your age and your heart reate. Polar makes a few models ranging from $89-$169, depending on what features you want. It seems like a hefty investment, but it ensures that you know how many calories you're burning and if you're working in your target heart rate range for maximum fat burning :)
I can't really afford one myself right now...but I'm hoping I can get one for Christmas.
--Azure
demogal22 11-02-06, 10:26 PM Hi Sis,
I know Hannah is picky, put if you cook chicken or fish for her, you can make a burger or pork chops for yourself. The taco meat you can use for a couple of days. Yes it's more work to make more than one meal, but it's stuff you can still cook at the same time. When I read the replies posted , I went to check out the heart monitors(with calorie counter) and I found one at walmart - $49.00 something to ask for at christmas. Unless can't wait.....
Did my Biggest Loser DVD and will be doing 20 min. of pilates yet, to get in my60 min. for the day.
Keep head up and feet forward. Talk to you later.
spartsgal08 11-03-06, 01:13 AM Sorry to hear that you're getting frustrated with the diet, but hang in there and you'll pull through it, I have faith in you
momof2kz 11-03-06, 07:55 PM well from the sounds of it my sister is doing better then me. good for her though. i ate pretty good today. havent' done my exercise yet. but will do 35 of taie bo and then belly butt and thighs wich is 30 min.
Bri got her cast off today. took out the 2 stitches and it wasn't even healed right. moving her little hand around and it split open. so now they just gave me some sterry strips to put on it for two weeks to see if it closes. i was not happy at all. now she will have a big scar i'm sure. if they would have casted it so she couldn't move her hand inside like my other daughter then it would have healed closed like it was suppose to. i'm pist about the whole thing but she's happy and right now i guess that's all that matters until we see how it heals.
BF-2 slices toast, PB
snack-yougurt
lunch-salad
dinner-left over spaghetti,2 thin slices turkey breast
3 of my 4 bottles of water
30 min. cardio tae bo
later
spartsgal08 11-04-06, 01:43 AM Wow that sucks about your daughter's cast not being right. If there is a scar rub shea butter, cocoa butter, or put mederma for kids on it, all three of those really help with scars.
momof2kz 11-04-06, 11:21 AM thanks spartsgal. i have her cut covered with sterry stripes and then wrapped with gauze so she can't pick it off. hopefully that will help it to heal right.
today is saturday, so i stayed in bed, trying to sleep in till bri got up, but hannah came in 3 times so i got up and came downstairs to get her her chocolate milk and PB toast. then i waited for bri to get up, got the girls dressed and then did 30 min of cardio tae bo. plan to do it again later today and do my belly butt thighs dvd, for some toning. i'm looking into getting a calorie counter monitor to wear while i exercise. each site i go to give a different # for calories burned during the same exercise, so i don't know if i'm really burning 489 or just 267. confusing.
i'll post again later tonight.
have a good day everyone
later
momof2kz 11-04-06, 08:50 PM ok, i did my 30 min of taebo for the 2nd time today.
BF- 2 slices PB toast, 1% milk
Lunch- 6" roast beef sub at subway,(no cheese)
Dinner- 1/2 chicken breast, brocolli and cawliflower
lots of water today, and plenty of calories left for a snack, but i don't think i'll have one. weigh in is monday morning and i have to becareful right here at the end of the week. i want to lose at least one more pound. plus i am going out to dinner and a movie tomorrow night. going to see
"Saw3" i like the scary ones. hope everyone has a good night.
later
momof2kz 11-05-06, 10:00 AM good morning everyone,
i don't know if i did this right, but if i did then i've lost 8 1/2 inches all over my body. 3 inmy chest,2 in my belly roll(i call it) 1/2 in my waist, and 1 in my thighs. could that be possible after 3 weeks? plus today is not my weight in day but i weighed myself and it was up 2 lbs. depressing. could that be muscle weight or did i just gain to lbs back, even though i've been eating little and exercising everyday this week, twice yesturday. i'm not ready to see the scale go back up. so i'll have to do really good today and hopefully tomorrow morning will be a better day and it will at least say that i've stayed the same.
have a good day everyone.

Leah'sMoving 11-05-06, 11:42 AM You are doing great.
Sometimes it is just water retention. I have had it where I am suddenly up 2 pounds and then in a day or two it is gone. The body is a strange thing!!! You are losing inches and that is the best!!
Love Leah
HikerDarlene 11-05-06, 02:01 PM I agree with Leah, just water retention.
And if you are working your muscles they will retain water (they do that as they rebuild).
8 1/2 inches lost in indeed possible, Congrats!
momof2kz 11-05-06, 02:03 PM thanks leah.
i haven't seen my hubby since last weekend and today he saw me getting out of the shower and commented that i look like i've lost weight. and that was good enough for me. plus he reminded me that muscle does weigh more then fat. so that 2 lb gain could be muscle. so i am happy, since he can see it and i measured and know i lost 8 1/2 inches. now to go watch the packers win.
later
momof2kz 11-05-06, 07:27 PM well the packers lost. not that big of a surprise. i did my 30 min. taebo dvd again. so i got in 60 min. of cardio today. now i am off to dinner(salad) and a movie. have a good night, i'll post my official weigh in tomorrow morning.
later
Wow, 8.5 inches, that is just fantastic!!! Wonderful working my friend. Keep it up.
demogal22 11-06-06, 01:48 AM Hey sis,
I have to agree with everyone else. Could be water retention or you are just building muscle. Get job on losing those inches!!!! I'll be weighing in and taking my measurements tomorrow morning. Hopefully it's good news!! Keep up the GREAT work and you'll make your goal in no time!!!
Talk to you tomorrow!!!
AzureN1ght 11-06-06, 01:57 PM Wow, wow, WOW! 8 1/2 inches is an -amazing- loss for 3 weeks! Congrats! Inch loss is WAY better than having smaller numbers on a scale in my book!
I'm so proud of you! You're doing so good eating right and exercising. You're determined and going for it, and it's inspiring! Keep going for it, girl!

catnas24 11-06-06, 04:45 PM Hiya Niki,

momof2kz 11-06-06, 06:02 PM thanx Azure and Cathy, for the encouraging words. i guess i am doing something right. i just need to keep doing it till i hit my goal.
but i did hit a speed bump today. i had a carmel sundae from culvers with lunch. a small one, and it was 565 calories. OUCH!!!! i guess i don't eat much for dinner tonight. my bad!! i'l have an apple and PB. I do have to get my 30 min of tae bo in tonight. i'm starting to really like that dvd. i'll keep doing it till i find something else i like or get my elliptical.
BF- cereal 1%milk
Lunch- salad, sundae
Dinner-apple,PB
most of my water today and 30 min of cardio.
i'll try to make it to chat tonight, but no promises
later
Hey Nikki,
It could very well be muscle also, as your hubby mentioned, but that will just help you burn that many more calories each day too.
Keep at it!!! We can only get better this way!!!
demogal22 11-06-06, 09:51 PM EXCELLENT job sis!!!! Glad you're liking the video. I'm really begining to like the Biggest Loser DVD. I'm able to handle it better each time I do it!!! Just keep your head up and work hard and you'll do it!!!! We'll do it!!! Talk to you later!
Give girls big hug and kiss for me!!!
momof2kz 11-06-06, 10:32 PM thanks sis, i just realized i need to lose 3 lbs this week to meet my mini goal. i don't think i'll beable to do it. not with a 1 lb loss last week and a 1 lb gain this week. my first mini goal and i'll fail it. figures.
o'well, i'll have to set a new mini goal and try for that.
just keeping thinking about that shopping spree in may!!! we'll get there.
later
demogal22 11-07-06, 02:09 PM You have 8 days left until your first mini goal so work hard, and you'll do just fine. Even if you don't make it all the way you still did and outstanding job!!! Right now you're only 3 lbs away from it...that's great. Nothing to be beating yourself up about!!!
I'm looking forward to it too!!!
Do a mini goal for end of Dec.
That's when my first one is up.
Good luck, keep up the great work!!!!!
HikerDarlene 11-07-06, 07:32 PM Nikki, just keep pushing to your goal. We all make goals, but they are important because it is something to focus on. Sometimes we make them, sometimes not. What is most important is too just keep plugging away and you will reach your final goal in the end!!!
momof2kz 11-08-06, 09:39 AM good morning, i added another mini goal. to burn at least 700 calories a day by nov 26th. that's doing my tae bo twice a day. about 350 calories for 30 min. i did it this morning and will again tonight. we'll see how i can do on this goal. have a good day everyone.

demogal22 11-08-06, 10:39 AM Hey sis,
I see you extended your first goal, good. 2nd goal looks doable as well. Looks like your burning more than me for each workout. I'm going to check the calories burned again, maybe find something else to do along with that each day to increase the calories burned. You're doing a great job, keep it up!!!
Whoopee 11-08-06, 07:08 PM Good going Momof2. You're doing great. Keep up the good work.

Have a great night. Talk to you later.
momof2kz 11-09-06, 05:33 PM thanx azure, it's always nice to hear from u. i think it will help me to exercise everyday so that i can meet my goal. i love the HRM i got. momof2kz 11-10-06, 09:39 AM 332 calories burned this morning.
demogal22 11-10-06, 10:25 AM Hey sis,
Looks like you're doing an excellent job. I am still finding it hard to get up in the morning. But I really need to get my butt in gear, or all this will be for nothing!! I'm doing great with everything else, just need to get that exercise in. Glad to see that you are liking your HRM.
Keep up the good work, talk to you later.
momof2kz 11-10-06, 09:53 PM BAD BAD BAD DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i went to subway for lunch, not too bad but i had a foot long. then afterwork came home got the kids ready and went to buy hunting license and got a few movies, then went grocery shopping. by then i was starving, so told hubby to go somewhere for dinner. taco bell it was, had a taco salad(850 calories) OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!! then ended up having a few iced oatmeal cookies after that.
just a very bad day. i guess seeing that i lost 1 more lb. i let it go to my head, thinking i was doing ok and could eat whatever like i used to. so now i have to try really hard to get in at least 2 sessions of 30 min. tae bo tomorrow and maybe even some weight training. we'll see how the day goes, with the hubby home i usually don't get much exercise done. I don't like him to see me doing it, i just feel funny and then i don't want to do it. but i will try really hard. i'm always up early with the kids on weekends so i'll have to do it right away before he get's up. then i'll at least get on session done for sure. hopefully that 1lb will still be gone monday morning when i weigh in.
BF- cereal
Lunch-subway footlong turkey breast
snack-few bite size pieces of chocolate
dinner- taco bell taco salad
4-5 iced oatmeal cookies
definately my worst day since i started the diet 4 weeks ago.
have a good weekend everyone.
till later
Well Nikki,
Don't let this mess you up completely though. We all have bad days, but you are doing so well, already looking to the future and getting in some extra workouts. But even if you don't(I don't like to exercise in front of hubby either, weird isn't it) just keep going forward.
See you soon.
Leah'sMoving 11-10-06, 11:11 PM Niki you are doing great on all the exercising I am really impressed!
Keep up the good work!
Love Leah
momof2kz 11-11-06, 11:20 AM thanks for stopping by nancy and leah. it always help to hear that there are other people out there cheering u on.
burned 296 calories this morning. i'll post the rest of my day later tonight.
have a good one.
Whoopee 11-11-06, 08:06 PM Hi Mom!
You can do it! Keep going....you're doing great.
momof2kz 11-11-06, 11:29 PM thanks whoopee!!!
had a so so day. started out good then had tatar tots with bbq pork ribs. and a few iced oatmeal cookies. the cookies are almost gone, so i shouldn't eat any tomorrow. i just don't know what is going on with me lately. i feel like i should just give up. i'm not really getting anywhere, except spending most of my time thinking about what i can eat and how many calories are in it. then eat it and feel like i need to eat something else to feel fuller or more satisfied.
i was watching a show today where this guy did some sort of quick makeover for his girlfried and lost 10 inches in 1 week, but they never said how he did it. it took me 3 weeks to lose 8 inches all over my body, he lost 10 right in his waist, with no surgeries. plus his girlfriend lost 45 lbs in 3 months. i've lost 7 in 1 month. i just wish i knew how these people did it and why i can't.
i know losing takes time, but if i don't see any more results i feel like i might just give up. that first week i lost 6lbs and then it's been a bust since then. so why i am going through all this?????????????
to look better, to feel better, to hopefully not hate myself as much as i do. but it is so damn hard to keep up with it all everyday.
i don't know...............................
Oh my goodness Nikki. 10 inches in 1 week is more like a freak show, sorry. He probably had one of the body wraps or something, don't worry, his won't last and HEY!!!!!!!!!!!! 8" in 3 weeks is absolutely awesome!!!!!!! I would 'kill' for that right now.
Don't worry, this guy and is GF will be chubby old people, lol. You will be strong and healthy and running marathons!!!
catnas24 11-12-06, 01:59 AM Hiya Niki,
I'm sorry to hear that your feeling down, I have went through the same emotions your going through "Is it really worth it" The weigh is not comming off" I know I know all that went through my head too thats why I slack off soo much I'll get on the scale and see that I didnt lose or that i'm up some and I thought I had a great week then bam no loss so then that makes me wanna just eat whatever, But after I splurge I feel bad and then I am right back on the wagon the following day because I know the weigh can be lost but it just takes time......Oh and I have seen in so many talk shows and magazines about how these people lost soo much weigh in such a short amount of time....Well the man that lost 10 inches I am sure it was some sort of Wrap and it was all WATER that he lost!!! And the Lady She probably starved herself for that Month to drop all that weight!!, Just Remember that you can lose the weight, You've already dropped some weight so you know you can do it, It just takes time I know it's fustrating and u just want the weigh off now, Just remember you didnt gain all that weight over night and your not gonna loseit over night!
Slowly But Surley the Weight Will Come off!!! You just gotta Stick to It, It will be all worth it in the End!!
Wow I gotta take my own advice........
Remember Lady I'm here for ya!
Take Care,
Cathy
momof2kz 11-12-06, 08:02 PM WOOOOO HOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THE PACKERS BEAT THE VICKINGS IN THE SUPER DOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'M SOOOOO HAPPY, WE NEEDED THAT WIN BAD AND WE DID IT.
ok sorry about that. i've had an ok day again. didi munch on snacks alot. popcorn, cereal, mcd's,soda but i did burn 326 calories doing 30min. of tae bo. man i really like that dvd. i think that helps a lot, cuz i don't mind doing it so i usually do it 2 times a day.
question: when i get my elliptical, should i do 30min on that then 30min of tae bo, or tae bo then elliptical? jsut wondering which one i should do first. cuz i want to do both in the morning and both at night. try and get in 2 hours of exercise each day.
well weigh in is tomorrow, i'm not looking forward to it. i've had a few bad days with eating, so i'm affraid the scale will have gone up a few lbs. 1 more weeks and i measure again. so i'll know if i've lost any more inches. i'm going to try and measure every other week.
i'm hoping by x-mas that i can buy some new smaller clothes. i've put gift cards on my x-mas list and my in-laws from florida always send one for walmart, so i really want to be able to go try on new clothes. i'm really sick of all the clothes i've had for a long time. i hardly ever go buy myself new stuff, i usually go buy the girls new stuff. but now i want it to be my turn and i want to feel good about what i try on and buy, instead of just settling on it cuz i need new stuff.
well i rambled on enough, have a good night all.
till later
Leah'sMoving 11-12-06, 09:48 PM Is the Tae Bo easy to follow? I am so uncoordinated lol
I heard it burns alot of calories though?
momof2kz 11-12-06, 10:20 PM leah- i do the tae bo cardio right now, most of it is real easy to follow. there are one or two that took me a few times to get the coordination down, but now i can do it and love it. i usually burn 250-340 calories in about 35 min. i don't know, some days i must put more into it then others. other then that i don't know why such a difference in calories burned. if u find one u should give it a try. i'm bidding on ebay right now for tae bo total fat burning. it sounds like a good one, so i'll check it out.
thanks for stopping by.

demogal22 11-13-06, 02:21 PM Hey sis,
Was hoping to catch you this morning before work, but wasn't sure what time you went in, so must of missed ya!! Hope weigh in goes well!!!!%%-
I know how you feel, believe me, we've talked about it enough with each other!!! But I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT!!!! Look at what you've accomplished so far!!!! (8+ inches - I guarantee more when you measure next week! and you've lost 7 lbs!!!) That's nothing to feel bad about!! Plus you've added working out to your schedule and you like it!!!
That's all you can ask for, and like Kathy said, it didn't all come on at once, so it will not all come off at once, no matter how bad we want it too!!!!
You need to get some new foods introduced into your diet - that might be why you feel blah!! Try getting 96% lean hamburger (its good!!) Make tacos, taco salad (like regular salad), hamburgers, maybe even hamburger helper (don't know what the calorie count is but with the 96% lean hamburger, might be less), chili (have a great recipe for!). Pizza (make your own), stir frys with chicken(pork) and veggies. Look online for some different ideas, try sparkpeople's recipes, weight watchers. Don't be afraid to add in snacks, I just found a new 100 calorie pack from Reese's (has reese's pieces and peanut butter chips, and some kind of peanut butter cereal.) Plus they have Hershey's 100 calorie bars (good chocolate!!!)
This is all worth it, we know it is!!!! Keep your head up, you'll make it!!!!
Bunches :rose:
momof2kz 11-13-06, 05:49 PM thanks sis, i know i just need to get back into the groove i was in the first 3 weeks of this diet. it's just feeling so mondan already. but i know i have to. i am going to go look for a new pair of jeans and nice shirt to wear to T-day at mom's. so that might help. i don't think i've lost enough inches to buy a smaller size yet, but we'll see.
i'll post food and exercise later tonight.
till later
AzureN1ght 11-13-06, 08:24 PM *hug* Hey, Niki :) Sorry it's taken me forever to get back here to say hello.
Sorry you got the "I hate my scale" blues. It's a part of the process, y'know? The important thing is, you didn't jump off the wagon and run away defeated. You're sticking to it, even if your scale's being a pain in the ass. I've got similar feelings toward mine at the moment ;)
Going shopping for new, smaller clothes is probably going to be -the- best reward. Not only do you get new clothes, but you feel really good in them. And I think feeling really good in what you wear is important no matter what size you are.
Hang in there, my friend. :)

momof2kz 11-13-06, 09:32 PM thanx for stopping by azure. i've missed hearing from u.
another week gone by and no weight loss. i'm do frustrated and sick of doing all this work and not even seeing 1lb. gone. but i know i have to keep it up or i won't ever lose any. i'm just in a mood today.
i havent' answered my phone cuz i don't want to talk to anyone.
i did my 30min of tae bo and burned 270 calories. i need to find something else to do. 30 min once or twice a day is just not enough. but i usually can only get 30 min to myself at night before the girls are all over me or getting into trouble of some kind. i don't know how some people do it.
BF- cereal, 1% milk
lunch- chicken,diet dew
dinner- broccoli,cauliflower, grapes,diet pepsi
i don't even feel like eating right. i just ate veggies for dinner and then thought i better have something else, so i had some grapes. woo hoo.......
i just...............
i really need to find my groove again, that i had the first 2 weeks. i've lost my momentum somewhere.
hubby said we can get an elliptical. but not till after x-mas(he's hoping for them to be on sale somewhere) which is ok, but i want one now. i don't like waiting for things, when i think that i need it to help me now. o'well. i'll have to wait.
i better go, i've rambled on enough. and i've posted too many of these depressing posts in my journal. i really need to find my mo-jo and get to it.
thank you to all who have stopped by and posted, it really helps to know that u are here.

demogal22 11-13-06, 11:37 PM Hey sis,
I just posted in your weigh in journal and don't know how often you go there so I'm going to say here what I did there....
Have you ever watched the Biggest Loser? You should, the people there work out somewhere around 5-7 hours a day 7 days a week and don't have the temptations we have here, plus they only have good food at the house they stay in..... each week they weigh in and for the first couple of weeks they get some big numbers but for the better part they get somewhere around 3-7 lbs, and a couple have put on lbs for a week!!! So don't feel bad when you don't lose and or if you only lose a lb a week, you're trying and I know you won't give up!!!
Now I know why you didn't answer the phone!! You have a big heart and a strong will you'll pull through this and come out on top!!!
Keep strong and know I'm behind you 1000000%
<<Hugs>>
momof2kz 11-14-06, 08:21 PM yeah i've seen the show, and they lose all that weight cuz that's all they have to do when they are there. they have no jobs or kids to interfer. so they can exercise 5-6 hours a day. i wish i could find more then 1 hour a day.
well burned 300 calories today.
BF- cereal, 1%milk
snack- apple/PB
lunch-1/2 cup corn, 1/4 cup green beans, yogurt,100 calorie pack of cheese nips
dinner- cereal 1%milk
I did go to the store and get a new pair of pants, but they are the same size i already have. o'well, still needed a new pair. of course couldn't find a nice shirt to buy that doesn't make me look like a cow. so i'll have to look around again tomorrow at a different store.
i'll try to make it to chat tonight, or i might do my tae bo again. we'll see how i feel.

demogal22 11-15-06, 11:15 AM Hey sis,
Man do you burn the calories!!! Once you see the Biggest Loser DVD and do 1 set of the Low Intensity Cardio you'll have to let me know what you burn for calories, because I only burn around 200-220 each time. I'd like to be burning more like you burn each time. Might have to look into that Tae Bo thing.....
Keep putting one foot in front of the other and you'll get there in no time. I'm still in the same size too, and I'd like to be out of it NOW, but hopefully by Christmas I will be down one size. I don't know how much it takes to go from one size to another so have to wait and see.
Take care, keep your spirits up!!!
mommydyanna 11-15-06, 11:48 AM Niki,
What eating plan are you using? When I first started out, I wasn't sure how much of what and when I should be eating. I found a free website that gives you a specialized meal plan for you. It helped me stay on track with the food and taught me in a very short time period what was and wasn't ok. Even if you don't stick with it, it can be very helpful. The website was www.myfreediet.com.
And stick with the exercise. It could be a variety of different things that aren't letting the pounds fall off right away - but the point is you are getting healthier, and that is always great.
Keep up the good work Niki, it is making a difference whether you can see it right now or not!
MD
momof2kz 11-15-06, 08:25 PM thanks guys.
i am takeing tonight off, no exercise. i did this morning, 45 min tae bo. so i feel like resting tonight. plus i got home late from shopping and had to make supper for the girls and now i just don't feel like it.
mommyD- i just count calories, try to stay under 1300 for the day. i do choose healthier food too. like salad, turkey, healthy choice dinners, plus smaller portions and no more fast food or soda. all that has helped, well in the begining anyway.
BF- cereal 1% milk
lunch-salad
dinner-1/4 chicken breast,broccoli/cauliflower, 100 calorie snack cookies
1/2 of my water for the day
well now it's bath time for two little girls and then hopefully some quiet time playing with them, and not all the screaming they LOVE to do.
have a good night all

momof2kz 11-16-06, 07:32 PM ok didn't sleep well, so i didn't get up early to exercise. i did just do 35 min of taebo and burned 297 calories.
BF-2slices PB toast
Snack-yogurt
Lunch-salad, grapes and strawberries
snack-apple/PB
dinner-broiled cod and peas
snack-popcorn
i will just about hit 1000 calories for the day after i have the popcorn tonight. i will get up early tomorrow and try to do 45 min of cadio. i really need to find a way to get in some strength training, so i can build up some muscle. i just don't feel like i'm doing it right when i use the bowflex. can't wait to get my elliptical.
well have to go check on the fish and then it's tv night, survivor and grey's anatomy. MUST SEE TV!!! ha ha ha.

demogal22 11-17-06, 12:11 AM Hey sis,
Since you have the Biggest Loser DVD, try the Strength and Toning part of the video, will need some hand weights (if don't have - don't worry). It is a good one. Works arms, legs, butt, abs and back. It's the one I do in the mornings. Glad to see you're still keeping with it!!
Keep your head up and you'll make it!!
Good luck this weekend!! See you next weekend!!
Give the girls a bg hug and kiss!!
momof2kz 11-17-06, 09:35 AM today is not weigh in day but i stepped on the scale and i am so MAD!!!!!
another week down the drain and no loss. i barely ate 1000 calories a day this past week and worked out everyday except one. i even did 55 min this morning. normally i only do 30 at a time. burned 415 caloried right away this morining and still no loss. i want to just throw my scale out the window. it's digital and brand new, so i know it's not broke. it's just me. i'm destined to stay fat my whole life. i'm doing all this work, it would be nice to see at least 1 lb gone after a whole week of busting but.
i just don't get it. i'll give it one more good week and if i dont' lose any i'm just going back to my regular self. i'm so sick of this!!!!!!!! i don't need the stress of finding time to exercise and get up early and think of good healthy low calorie things to eat. i don't need that everyday if it's not going to work.
till later
Nikki,
So sorry about the frustration you are feeling.
I am not sure if you want to know what I think but I am going to share anyways, lol. Your exercise is great, lots of it, but you have to feed your body to get it to work properly. I believe that 1,000 calories is too low. I have heard many times that our bodies need at least 1200 calories just to function properly(not including energy to exercise and burn extra calories). It is like trying to drive a car and not putting in the gas. It just isn't going to happen.
Now, you have lost some inches and that is excellent. So, you know you are building muscle and burning fat because muscle takes up less room than fat and that is why you are losing inches. Burning that darn fat and replacing it with lean, strong muscles.
Now, yes, you can give up. But that won't do anything for you. Your muscles will deteriorate, your fat will multiply, and your health will go down hill. YOu will be susceptible to all kinds of health problems and some extremely serious ones.
Yes, losing weight in a healthy way is a long arduous road, but look at all the friends you have here walking that road right beside you.
And your hubby and kids, they want many good things for you. They want to see you happy and healthy. You want to be an example to your kids of sticking with it and getting it done. You want to be able to be active even after your kids are grown and on their own. You will have a great time with hubby travelling and having so much fun.
Now I hope that I have come across in a positive way, just a friend trying to help another friend to stay on track and hang in there. You are a terrific person, you deserve many good things and much good health.
Feel free to pm me if you ever need anything.
AzureN1ght 11-17-06, 12:59 PM  Oh, Niki--don't give up! I'm sorry that you haven't seen any loss, but what Nancy's saying is right...1000 or even 1200 calories per day is too low--especially if you're exercising! I try to keep mine between 1300-1400, and I'm sure that there are some people on here that would think that even -that- is too low.
If it's been awhile since you've been active, it makes sense that maybe you're not seeing any loss. Your muscles are building themselves up for the first time in a -looong- time, and I know it's been said before (and I hate to hear it, too when I'm not losing numbers on the scale) but muscle -does- weigh more than fat.
Ultimately, eating healthy and exercising is going to help you lose the weight you want to lose. Your heart will be healthier, your muscles will be healthier and you'll be less prone to serious health problems down the road. Looking damned sexy in clothes is only one benefit of being at a healthy weight--there are so many other benefits that come along with living a healthy life.
:console: I know it's hard to see no loss in 2 weeks when you're working so hard...don't give up, hon. Push through your frustration--and when you're looking back at this hard place when you're at your goal, you'll be so glad that you did.
--Kim
mommydyanna 11-17-06, 01:04 PM Niki,
What Nancy had said about upping the calories is very very true. If you don't feed your body enough calories the metabolism has to slow way down, like a car on coast, because it doesn't have the energy to burn. It will also explain why you've been tired, depressed, etc. Take in at least 1200 calories a day and you will see those pounds start to shed.
I know this is frustrating for you - it really is a science. Don't give up, just readjust a few things until you find what is going to work for you and then keep at it. And when that stops working readjust again. Our bodies adjust all too quickly to our diets and exercise programs, we really need to keep on our toes!
Big Hugs!
MD
momof2kz 11-17-06, 01:58 PM thank you so much everyone!! i know all of what you say is true. this last week is the first week i have been so low on calories. normally i eat 1200-1300 a day. i just hadn't seen any loss so i thought i'd cut back on calories a little. but that didn't work either. so i'll stay around 1300 a day and exercise at least 30min twice a day. maybe more if i have time and can keep the kids out of my way.
i'm sorry to have been posting such negative posts lately. i just need to get out of this slump. i'm excited about hunting tomorrow and hope to shoot my first deer.(beginners luck, I hope) then dragging a deer out of the woods would be good exercise, otherwise i dont' know if i'll get any exercise in this weekend. no matter waht i'll try to get 30 min of cadio in each day.
i just can't thank you guys enough for all the support and help you have given me. i know it's hard i just need to get over it and push through it. so please bare with me through this slump of mine and forgive me for being so negative.

demogal22 11-17-06, 03:40 PM Hey sis,
I know how you are feeling, I just stepped on the scale this morning (not my weigh in day either) but, did anyway and found a 2lb gain!!!! That's worse than staying the same. But as I told you on the phone I also have my monthly friend, so that is probably a good indicator for the gain. Maybe that is what is going on with you. (what we talked about on the phone). So don't give up, work real hard this next week and you should see some results next weigh in. Do you take measurements this week? I wouldn't doubt you see some inches gone!!! You've been putting in some great workouts!!
Just remember to change up your meals, I know that it would mean making more than one thing at a time for supper, but you can do it. Most things that I've suggested or recipes I've found aren't hard or time consuming, so don't be afraid to try something new. And if you want, as a treat, go to McD's, BK, TB or where ever once a month. Plan it ahead of time, eat a small breakfast and lunch/supper then you will have the calories to spare for that meal. I was thinking about doing it when I hit my first goal (not going all out, but a happy meal or something). That way you're still getting those things and you won't feel as deprived. You might find it that you'll just weed that out after a while, who knows!!
Just take it one day at a time! We'll get there!!!

MinnieMe 11-17-06, 11:34 PM Hello Niki,my name is Heather,I just got finished reading your journal,I checked yours out after visiting your sister's as she visits mine also.1st off I would like to say WOWZA GIRLIE!!! You are actually doing amazing in my book,I think that you are putting on muscle, for real with all that exercising you are doing you have got to be no doubt replacing fat with muscle. The only thing that I could think that you may really want to change up and I know that your not going to want to hear this but I would say maybe replacing the tators and corn with maybe some greens like salad and or broccoli and maybe have baked chicken rather than fried, the bad thing about the corn and tators is they are both starchy veggies, and maybe it is the starches that are preventing you from getting in a good weight loss on the scale.I know, calories in calories out but at the same time I think that certain things that we eat can trigger impulses in us to want to eat more or we get into the head games and start beating ourselves up because its a very hard battle.(yes my belief certain foods do this to us) I find that when I cut down on my starches significantly I get a pretty good drop in the scale,I by no means would say to give them up (I love them too, corn tators)but maybe cut down on them to just a few times a week instead,or not have bread in the same day as them, plus tons of water which I need to start doing again myself.I myself have been in a rut for a good month now but its because I have been slacking not saying this is your problem but I know that it is mine.I just got feeling pretty good in my skin then slacked but I am done with that I am ready to move the scale again.Someone also gave you good advice I think it was Azure she said maybe to go out and get a new outfit so that you feel better about yourself,I believe that to be very true,no matter what size we are at at the moment when we have a nice outfit and our hair done we always feel so much better about ourselves. You really have to love yourself and not be so hard on yourself and know that you can do this and really truly believe in your heart and soul that you can do this and you will do it I promise you that.I can say this from experience, I can tell you that because I have been down this road so many times in my life,I have had many failures but at the same time I have had plenty of successes too.You have to know that you are so worth it,and you can not give up because that means you would be giving up on you and you know full well that isn't what you want to do and I know your not going to,you are here for a reason just continue to tell yourself why you found this site in the 1st place, replace those "I can't do this" with the "I CAN DO THIS"no more can't in your vocabulary(this will pop in your head next time you think of saying can't lol) Whew ok guess I am done with my 2cents,it looks to me like you have gotten lots and lots of good advice thus far so I sure haven't added anything new to it but I just want you to know it is so true we are all in this fight together and we all want each other to succeed. You have yourself a good one I will visit again,I promise I won't rattle on so much every time though I am good at it sometimes lol take care, and remember you really are ROCKIN wtg!!!

Nikki,
Glad you are safe anyways, and it must be nice to get out in the fresh air and just away from the 'usual'.
MinnieMe 11-19-06, 11:02 AM Wishing you all the luck on bagging that deer today,my hubby has been out every day but no luck yet hopefully soon I love venison.I have went hunting one time and I was hoping to get a deer before hubby and his buddy but nope I almost got shot in the head so that was my first and last time out,I may try it again some day but it sure won't be where we went.well once again good luck to you.Have a good one.
momof2kz 11-19-06, 04:47 PM well no deer today. but we at least did see one. a nice big buck about 25 yards away, stopped and looked at us. we both drew our guns and hubby was moving so quick he just shot before the deer moved and missed. i just about had him in sights and heward the shot. if hubby only would have waited 3 more seconds i could have had my first deer and a buck, and a freezer full of yummy venison. o'well. we are going to try agian in a few weeks. so hopefully i get one then. didin't eat well today cuz of hunting. well that's not really and excuse, but i'm making it one.

MinnieMe 11-19-06, 09:45 PM Its alright its a good excuse to me as long as you jump right back on the wagon its ok its when you walk beside the wagon for to long that you get in to trouble ahem......like I have done for almost a month yah don't do that its not worth it,now I am a month behind yuk,oh well least I am back on thats the important thing just as you will be no problem.Thats funny yellin at the tv I do that too but my team is the pistons I am a basketball fan,I used to watch football long ago but my hubby isn't in to sports at all so I veared away from it except basketball that is I will be a die hard fan for life.Sorry about the deer,we haven't got ours yet either bummer.Alrighty you have yourself a good night I am out.
Leah'sMoving 11-19-06, 10:14 PM Hi Niki
Well you are the first woman I know who goes hunting and is actually looking forward to shooting something lol
At least you got lots of walking in even though you didn't catch anything.
I am having a hard time today not snacking. The Grey Cup is on (Big Canadian Football Game) and my husband and son are snacking on all sorts of stuff. I had a few potato chips but sat down and had a bowl of cereal and milk instead. Weekends are hard.
Anyway hope you have a great week. Your Thanksgiving is this weekend coming up isn't it? Try to be good all week so that you can enjoy it!
Love Leah
momof2kz 11-20-06, 08:32 AM thanks minnie and leah.
yes i go to my parents this sunday. i plan not to snack before the meal and to have only one plate of food instead of all that snacking and 2 plates like i usually do. i'll only have a little bit of potato(which are my all time favorite) and my mom is going to be using FF gravy for my sister and i.
i hope to work really hard this week, eating right and getting in lots of exercise. i still want to meet my calories burned goal. but i might not since i missed exercise this weekend. o'well, i'll try to get as close as i can.
i did weigh in today and it was a 1lb. loss. WOO HOO!! i didn't think i'd lose after this weekend, i thought it would be a gain. but i'll take a 1lb. loss any week.
well have to go to work, i'll post my day later tonight. have a good one.
till later
MinnieMe 11-20-06, 09:34 AM WTG on the 1lb gone and to never return again thats great, see you must've done something right whether you realize it or not, hope your day went smooth today.
demogal22 11-20-06, 10:59 AM Hey sis,
AWESOME!!!! I know 1 lb. isn't much, but it's something!! It was better than mine. I was a 2 lb. gain this week (OUCH!!!!) But it was my TOM so, that had to factor in, plus with working 16 hrs Sat and Sun, didn't get to exercise much (just Sat night) and didn't eat that great. But will work extra hard this week so next week's weigh in is better!!
Keep up the good work, talk to you soon and see you on Sun!!

Leah'sMoving 11-20-06, 09:47 PM Congrats on the weight loss!!!
Love Leah
momof2kz 11-21-06, 08:53 PM well, i think i did ok today. got in 35 min of taebo after work and burned 297 calories. i don't think i'll make goal. if i do i need to burn about 600 a day and i just about burn 300 a day. so i'll fall alittle short on that one. o'well.
had kind of a crappy day at work today. i asked for 2 days off so my hubby and i go hunting again in dec. and my boss denied them. no reason why, but i think it is because if i'm not there she has to do my work and doesn't want to. because i'd have a 4 day weekend and nothing would get cleaned for 4 days if i'm not there and she never does any of my work when i take a day off or call in. and that's just one day, so i know she won't do it if i'm off for 4 2 days plus the weekend. so i was mad today, i don't get another chance at a deer till next year this time. that's a long wait. o'well such is life.
BF-cereal 1%milk
snack-100 calorie pack cheese nips
lunch-deli chicken sandwich,carrots,potato wedges,diet dew
dinner-chicken,rice,cream of mushroom soup(all baked together) broccoli and cauliflower

demogal22 11-22-06, 10:16 AM Hey sis,
Looks like your getting back on track, keep it up!!! I'm going to have to change my exercise habits since I'm burning only about 1/2 of what you are. I'm waiting for some new dvd's called "The Firm" and see how they work, otherwise will have to look into the Tae Bo so I can start burning more calories!!
Have a great day!!!
Give the girls big hug and kiss from me!!
momof2kz 11-22-06, 07:38 PM ok i just burned another 317 calories for the day. that puts me a little under half way to my goal and only a week to do it in. as long as i get pretty close i'll be happy.
