Yes, I know, another journal... lol

Well my last journal lasted for hmm... maybe 3/4 of a day when I tried doing Slimfast again, and I just couldn't! I'm so use to eating foods that I WANT to eat lately... like healthy cereals, lean cuisine's... and I just couldn't think about chugging can after can of SlimFast... Especially for 6 months in a row or something.. eek!

These last few days were horrendous... eating peanut butter out of the jar... pint of Ben & Jerry's... and my 'fabulous' dinner last night of 4 slices of Cheese Steak Pizza and a slice of Cheese Cake.

Right now my weight is around 175 and it's not really getting me down... things could have been much worse and I could be back in the 180s right now.

So right now I am going to do my best to stop that from happening.

As the title of my journal says, I am going to be HONEST with myself. I'm heavy for a reason... way too much food and slumping around way too much.

Good morning middle of the night! hehe... it's almost 4am and I just couldn't sleep...

Yesterday went alright... I haven't been counting calories just yet but did record what I've eaten. Much much less than how I've been eating last week so I feel very good about it.

:tom1: SUNDAY'S FOOD CHOICES
Breakfast -2 Eggo waffles w/ Butter & Sugar Free Syrup, 1/2 a Banana and a cup of tea.
Lunch - 2 cups of Minestrone Soup
Snack - 8oz Fat Free Caramel Yogurt, couple of Hard Candies, Mini Twix Bar
Dinner - Spaghetti & Meatballs

I'm looking forward to being in control of my food intake again, rather than being a raving lunatic and just sticking anything in my mouth that looks fattening and tasty...

Depending on the weather, I'll take my son to storytime tomorrow at the library... nice little 25min walk round trip and he just loves it so much and he's so cute. :) He's 2 1/2 and I love watching him participate in the little songs and he gets all excited if he recognizes any letters in the alphabet, hehe..

He calls food 'Num Nums' so last night, his new name for Meatballs are now "Num Balls" and the pasta he calls "Noonels". It's so bless, I love it. :)

There are sometimes when I wish he was older so we can do more fun stuff like board games... but right now I want him to stay the sweet little guy he is and enjoy every minute of it. :)

Blue: These journals are for US -- so you can make however many you'd like, maybe instead of focusing on just ONE specific diet- maybe you should take the NDA (No Diet Approach), and just get information through the people over there. I find it particulary hard to focus on one main diet- so I'm attempting to eat healthy, maintaining calories, blah blah. It works for me-- but it's definitely a lifestyle change. That's so cute about your little guy. You are definitely blessed. :)

Hiya guys! Thanks for stopping by. :)

FSUgirl - Right now I'm taking the No Diet Approach... I have a fuzzy blue notebook on my kitchen table (next to the refrigerator) where I am at least attempting to write down what I eat, even if it doesn't say the amount or calories. I want to get into the habit of writing down what I eat regardless if it was right on target or horrendously over. I have a very bad habit of tearing out the page in my notebook and calling it a day when I have the 'eat everything you can and all the foods you've been missing' binge coming along.

I think you were in the 50 day Halloween Challenge too, and I was thinking about starting a 50 Day Christmas Challenge in the beginning of November, where I will give out a prize to the winner as well. So unless anyone else makes one, then I will. :) So until then, I am going to continue the NDA and then once that Challenge starts, I might go back to 1500 cals/day. Well, unless I'm really doing good at NDA, then I might still just stick to that, lol. I've been dieting enough to know when I've had enough and what would constitute as a good day or a bad day. Or for the challenge... good day = HOHO! and bad day = NONO! lol

Crazy2 - Hiya crazy! Nope, you haven't lost me yet, lol. No matter how bad I do and how sulky I feel, I still manage to come to this site for support, even if it means only browsing the forums. Yup, a new journal's nice for a new start but I wanna make this a BIG journal with alot of accomplishments! And since I'm going to be HONEST with myself this time, as the journal suggests, I know there are going to be days when I don't do as well, and hopefully lots and lots of days when I do great, and I want to hang on to a good streak as long as I can and get rid of my pessimistic attitude that one bad day means I've blown it all.

:tom1:MONDAY'S FOOD CHOICES
Breakfast - SlimFast Cinnamon Bun Breakfast Bar, Tea w/ Milk
Lunch - White Cheddar Mac n' Cheese, Steamed Broccoli & Cauliflower
Dinner - 1 1/2 Tandoori Chicken Skewers w/ Cumin Sauce, Basmati Rice
Snacks - Cottage Cheese w/ Pineapple Topping, Couple of Hard Candies, 9oz Draft Cider

Today's Monday and keeping with my old weigh-in's, I'll be weighing in on Wednesday... and I thought Halloween was scary... :bghost:

I can't do things like slimfast either because of the blood sugar thing. If my blood sugar falls too low for too long (a few hours will do it), I can't stop eating later in the day when I do eat a "normal" type meal. My solution is to eat three meals, and have two snacks per day, such that I never have more than 5 waking hours without something to eat. The other "trick" that I still use on myself is to always include a protein with any carbs that I eat. Eating carbs by themselves makes me extra hungry about an hour later.

Hang in there. Way to go on the honesty, but don't beat yourself up too much either.

Hiya cfj, thanks for stopping by. :)

Right now I'm trying to have 3 meals and 1 snack between lunch and dinner. After dinner I do tend to pick a little on different things which I really need to stop doing!

My meal plan for yesterday didn't go exactly as I planned... after Dinner I finished up the leftover Basmati Rice... probably another cup of it, ate one of my son's leftover fish sticks, a bite of Mac n' Cheese, 1/2 can of beer and 3 Peanut Butter Crackers... towards the end of the day is the worst for me to stick to my plan and I think I'm going to have to add another snack an hour or two after Dinner so I stop that picking and 'grazing'!

I kind of blame my binge tendency yesterday to probably not getting enough calories in and that made me feel kinda hungry.

So today I am making it a goal to count my calories and have no more than 1500. I'm trying really hard to restart my 10,000 steps a day goal but my pedometer is really irking me... yesterday it said I only walked 3,000 steps... yeah right! I did loads of housework, took son in his stroller for like 20 min and then took doggy for a walk for another 10 or 15... so it's definitely lying to me. I have done hardly anything this morning and it's telling me that I've already walked 1700 steps... ARGH! I kept 'testing' it this morning by counting my steps as it counted and moving the sensitivity of it so it matched up with me, but it's still being a butt head, lol.

Oh well, I'll just see what it says at the end of the day...

So today's Breakfast was 2pk of Oatmeal, 1/2 a Banana and a cup of Tea.
Lunch will probably be a can of soup, and haven't decided about Dinner yet... either Beef Sate, Carbonara or Chicken Strips... one of them will do. I'm just glad we've stopped ordering in this week... geez.. last week we must have ordered lots of greasy, fattening stuff like 4/7 days! Not very diet friendly!

So I best be off, gotta get some stuff done.

Be back laterz. Ciao!

Looking good Blue!!!

I am glad that you keep coming here no matter how you are feeling. I find that I post in other journals but not my own as much when I am not feeling on track, but yes, I too keep coming here. LOL, usually a couple of times a day, at least.

Hope we get to chat sometime soon.

Morning everyone!

I've been MIA the last couple days/week due to my embarassment of gaining almost all of my weight back and absolutely horrible food choices.

Last night was my 'Last Meal' of way too much Indian Food. :o

I just watched the Biggest Loser not too long ago and DAMN that show is motivating! I can't believe how they are still pulling huge numbers so far into the show now!

So I am back and more motivated than ever! I've updated my stats and all that fun stuff and now my starting weight is 176.0 lbs.

I'm not going to say anymore about that or even try to make up excuses or moan at myself because I WILL get to my goal and I am VERY determined now!

I prettied up my hand-written Diet Journal with a printed out Biggest Loser front page, have my weekly weigh-in's page filled out and I'm ready to go. :)

My Diet Plan is pretty basic...

1200 - 1500 calories a day. - Mainly because when dieting that's the range I'm most comfortable with, and because on one of the BL episodes it said that's how many calories the women on there have each day.

Exercise is going to be at least 30 minutes a day. I've got WATP videos, Firm videos, a treadmill, AB Lounge, Exercise Bike, free weights and I have no excuses now!

So that's pretty much it.

I will do my best to report in daily, weigh-in weekly, to record my progress.

Tata for now.

Thanks Cathy & HikerDarlene for the support and for dropping by! :)

Yesterday is what I'll call an 'alright day' cos I hit my calorie target but I think my food choices could have been ALOT better... we had delivery for dinner last night and instead of ordering the grilled chicken salad, I ordered a Philly Cheesesteak... :o opps, my bad! But it was very yummy and the little voice in my head keep telling me... "But you have enough calories for it..."

Saturday, October 28 Food Choices
- 2 pks of Oatmeal - 260
- 2 thick slices of Bacon - 90
- Tea w/ Milk - 30
- Hamburger on Roll w/ Ketchup & Mustard - 320
- Popcorn - 100
- 8" Philly Cheesesteak Sub - 700 :O

Calorie Total = 1500 cals

I called my neighbor yesterday before trick-or-treating to check the time, and it turned out that yesterday was just a Halloween Parade and the real trick or treat wasn't until Tuesday night... doh! At least I'm glad that I called first before me and my son just started randomly knocking on people's houses expecting some loot, lol

I did, however, take Sam in his stroller for a 20 minute stroll, and then my doggy out for about a 10 minute walk, which gives me about 30 minutes of walking for yesterday.

In my hand-written Diet Journal I am rewarding myself with a Gold Star for following my Diet Plan + Exercise Plan, and a Silver Star for at least following the Diet Plan. So when I'm out walking with son or doggy I don't count it as actual exercise, lol I dunno, I'm strange... I guess I just want to get myself into doing some 'Organized Exercise' like my Treadmill, Exercise DVD's, etc... So that means right now I have 2 silver stars! Woohoo! lol

Well, today is grocery shopping day, so I'm gonna take a quick nap and then go buy some healthy stuff... Ahh.. how I love stocking up the fridge and cupboard with good for me stuff! I'm also a bit tired for walking 2 miles this morning to church and back... Laterz!

HikerDarlene
10-29-06, 03:51 PM
I would count walking as your exercise star. But that is just me, my main exercise is walking.
Glad you enjoyed your cheese steak, as long as it is just sometimes, it is nice to have something like that. And you did stay in your calories so that is great.

Good morning everyone! :)

I'm feeling really good today... I was absolutely craving cereal this morning and it feels like forever since I've had some.. ok, maybe only like a week or two, lol... but that's a good sign cos it means that I'm WANTING healthy choices which is a step closer to leading a healthy lifestyle!

Yesterday was alright, calories were good, it's just that I think I chose too many empty-calorie beverages.

Sunday, October 29 Food Choices
- 2 Pancakes w/ 1 Tbsp Butter & 1/8 cup Sugar Free Syrup - 275
- Tea w/ Milk - 30
- Coffee w/ Pumpkin Spice Creamer - 100
- 2 cups Chicken Noodle Soup - 180
- 9oz Hard Cider - 150
- Stouffer's Seafood Scampi w/ Green Beans & Yellow Carrots - 410
- Weight Watcher's Sundae Cup - 160

Calorie Total = 1305 cals

I'm not going to be too hard on myself cos the last couple days I've been doing a heck of alot better than I was not counting calories.. I just kept grazing having a bite of this.. and a taste of that and Phooey! Writing everything down that I eat and keeping track of calories is going to be a crutch for me until I lose this weight and right now, I don't mind a bit.

Yesterday me and Sam walked to church and back, a total of 2.2 miles and it felt good. :) I'm still not counting it as "Official" Exercise cos eventually I want to be able to do things like that as a normal part of my routine. Today I think I might just hop on that treadmill and earn meself a Gold Star. :* I haven't done that for awhile so I won't find my music boring this time, lol. Hopefully today I'll have a nice moving and grooving karaoke session, hehe.

Yesterday was pretty good overall. :)

I didn't even touch any of my son's Halloween candy! Yay me, lol.

My tasks for today are going to be to sort some laundry out, do about an hour of ironing, and then take Sam outside to play while I do some yardwork. So an hour or two of raking leaves and pulling weeds should be some good 'unofficial' exercise. Haven't even been near treadmill or exercise dvd's yet... I'm kinda enjoying my unofficial exercise, lol, which is good cos moving more is something I really want to make a part of my everyday life, and then I'll work on some private me time workout sessions.

Biggest Loser tonight, Woohoo!! As usual I'll probably watch it tomorrow in the day time. Tonight's episode looks like it should be nice and juicy, lol. Can't wait. :D

I just watched Biggest Loser about 5 minutes ago and my motivation is WAY UP again! I really really needed it.

Tomorrow's my weigh-in and it'll probably be close to what my stats say right now of 171.6 if not just a wee bit higher cos of lovely TOM, blah... But last Friday I had weighed in at 176.0 so no matter what I'm still very pleased.

I'm happy with all the increased walking I've done this week, but it just doesn't seem like enough... I think I will have to break out a WATP dvd today... haven't done it for awhile so it'll seem hard-ish to me and I'm almost looking forward to it... almost... lol

Wednesday, November 1 Food Choices

Hiya everyone!

It's been about 10 days since I've been here.. due to my computer being a butthead and I had to reformat it, plus I guess I've been overdoing the walking lately  and had a bad case of Plantar Faciitis..ick! I literally couldn't walk for like 2 days and I was pretty much feeling sorry for myself... Hubby took son to daycare for a couple days so I could have a little rest, and I basically spent the days sitting on the couch eating and eating and eating... I mean I ate ALOT and my weight had went up to 181.4lbs!! AHH!! :blackeye:

But I've been back on track for a few days now and today I weighed in at 174.8lbs which is a relief!

I'm doing so sucky on my challenges, lol... totally lost track of the Christmas Eating Challenge... and I'm almost 3lbs up from when I started the Biggest Loser and 22lb Easter Challenges...

Oh well, I'm just going to do my best to take it one day at a time.. I've been giving myself 'official' daily weigh-ins which have been good for me cos even a 0.1lb loss makes me feel really good about myself the next day. :)

2 cups of Coffee w/ 1% Milk - 50 cals

Hiya boblin! :)

I just love my digital scale! (Especially when I'm on a diet and it tells me I've lost weight, lol)

I got it as one of my birthday presents this year... a little pricy, but it does some other cool stuff like measure body fat % and water %, but my favorite is it weighing to the nearest 0.1lbs! How neat is that?

My old dial scale kept annoying me cos I'd get like 5 different weigh-ins every morning, and the little dashes inbetween 5lb marks were so hard for me to see...plus everyday I'd get so disappointed if it looked like I didn't lose a pound. Now waking up and seeing even a 0.2lb loss is REALLY motivating for me! :) Plus it is so accurate... no matter how many times i keep weighing myself, it pretty much gives me the same weight everytime.

So yes, definitely invest in a digital scale.. it's so worth it. :)

Good morning everyone :)

I'm feeling pretty super today... I've lost another 0.8lbs since yesterday, making me now 171.0 ! I am very pleased! I believe my new workout routine (and at least just starting to exercise again) is contributing alot to this weight-loss... it's gonna be sad when it really starts to slow down, or plateau even! But right now it's just making me feel so gosh darn good about myself, lol.

Hiya! :)

Well today my weight is finally leveling off... I have some mixed emotions about it... I'm kinda happy about it cos it's unrealistic for me to keep losing and losing everyday non-stop, but I'm also a little sad by it cos I was really enjoying the weight-loss plunge! lol

Thanks crazy! :)

Well, I was suppose to begin Week 2 of my treadmill workout yesterday, but Sam and I walked to Chuck E Cheese for a PlayDate... and that was about 3 miles roundtrip, and over 1hr of walking... so needless to say, I wasn't in the mood for more exercise when we got home, lol... For the next couple of days we're going to my Mom & Dad's for Thanksgiving so I won't be able to do my treadmill workout, but I will try to not stuff myself like a piggy, and maybe even go for a few walks on this nice walking trail they have by their house. When I get back, probably Saturday, that's when I'll begin Week 2 of Treadmill Workout again, ok? Ok.. lol.

Have a terrific Thanksgiving!!!

I agree that you should count the walks as exercise. Walking conditions the same muscles that running or the treadmill do. You just burn fewer calories. Count it!

Your food is seriously on target too. Good for you. Have a good Thanksgiving.

Hiya!

I'm back after spending a few days with me Mom, Dad, Grandmothers, etc... :)

I did surprisingly well at Thanksgiving Dinner... half of my plate was salad and green beans, while the rest were a few bites of Turkey, Mashed Potatoes, Stuffing and a little bit of Cranberry Sauce. Hubby's Birthday was on Thanksgiving so I also had a small slice of chocolate cake after dinner... and I didn't eat anything else until that evening when my son shared a slice of Pecan Pie with me... compared to other years, I did great for eating... I use to stuff on EVERYTHING, even if I didn't like it that much and then go pass out and fall asleep on the couch, lol...

Yesterday for Breakfast I had one cookie and a cup of coffee.... we braved the crowds and went 'Black Friday' Shopping for a couple of hours and then had lunch at Ruby Tuesday's... I ordered a bowl of White Chicken Chili and only went to the salad bar once... so that was okay. But things started going a little downhill when we went back to my moms... I had a piece of fudge, some nutroll and a glass of milk.... didn't have anything again until we were driving back home... I decided to 'splurge' a little at Starbucks and have a Grande Eggnog Latte w/ regular milk instead of the Nonfat I usually get... but alas, they accidentally served me the Venti instead, and instead of only drinking half of it or something, I downed the whole thing... an instant 630 cals! :O I had promised myself that was it, NOTHING for the rest of the day, but around midnight, I had a chocolate munchie attack... Truffle... Nuts... Chooclate Cake.. and a Brownie...

So needless to say, I am paying for my mistake and I weighed in today at 172.6lbs... blah.. lol... I would also like to blame TOM a little bit cos he's got me all bloaty.. but it's not totally his fault... so just in case (and to make me feel a bit better, lol).. I will next weigh-in when he packs his bags and says goodbye...

Hubby, Son & I are next going to Mom & Dad's for Christmas, probably on Dec 24, and I now have a new goal... I would like to lose 10lbs by Christmas... mainly cos my skinny sister will be there too, lol... so I would like to look nice in a Christmas dress and my new silvery/gold boots that I got from Payless...
Here's a pic of my new boots, just couldn't resist, lol...

http://www.payless.com/Images/beauty/050572_beauty.gif

Well anyhoo... so I have roughly 30days to lose 10lbs and I think I'll be able to do it... I am so much more in control at home with me measuring cups, calorie books, scale, treadmill, etc and I will resist temptation! I really don't bake cookies, cakes, or goodies... maybe once every few months I'll make Peanut Butter cookies or something, but that's about it... so unless I don't buy anything like that, then I'll be fine with avoiding those...

My daily calories will still be 1500 cals or less... until I lose a bunch more weight, then that's a great number for me to stick to... and I will officially start Week 2 of my Treadmill workout today. I really am looking forward to it.. it's been a couple of days...

I think I'll probably go do some housework, take doggy out, do some grocery shopping and all that Domestic Goddess stuff :queen:...

Take care!

I'm down another 1.2lbs since yesterday, weighing in at 167.8lbs! Yay!
I know for sure I'll reach my 10lb Mini Christmas Goal! :D

What I'm loving best is that I'm not starving like I've done on other diets, plus I actually look forward to my treadmill workouts! I dug out my Nsync Christmas CD, lol... and that's what has kept me going this week. :) That and the coffee and the diet mt. dew I keep drinking... I'm well caffienated right now, lol..

Mornin'! :)

After this last week of having a lovely weight-loss plunge, my weight is finally starting to level off... I believe my exercise and all the "Getting Ready for Christmas" housework is making me start to gain some muscle :mus:, and I think that's a really good thing, cos not only does muscle burn more calories but it makes me look trimmer!

Also, I've been finding that when I level off for a couple days or even a week, I then get another BOOM! downwards weight change! :D So I'm very excited about that... I haven't been this weight for a few years now!

I have a box of clothes in my closet that are marked 'Semi-Fit' ... since I started dieting in Nov '05 when I weighed in at 224lbs, I promised myself that once I hit 160lbs that I would open that box and see what I would be able to fit into... and I believe in a month or so that that promise is gonna happen!

I can't wait to clear my closet of my 'Fat Clothes'... I haven't done that for over a year and I still have my size 22 jeans hanging up! Right now I'm between a 12 - 14 and so those jeans look like clown pants on me now, lol

Well yesterday was a pretty good day. No exercise to report because that was my second rest day for Week 2 of my Treadmill Workout... so you know what that means? Today is start of Week 3 for my workouts!

I'm kinda in shock that I stayed on this exercise plan for so long now... I thought that I would have gotten bored with it after the first week... but the little variations the plan has you do, plus digging out a bunch of old cds has really made it interesting for me...

I decided that when I start Week 5 that I am going to set up my AB Lounge and do maybe 50-100 crunches 3 times a week... it's never too early to start working on some nice, flat abs!

Here's yesterday's Food Log:

Hey Blue,

Hiya crazy! Glad you're back. :)

That box of 'Semi-Fit' clothes was staring at me in the face the other day when I went through my closet looking for wrapping paper....It kept saying 'Open Meee! Open Meeee!', lol. Well today I weighed in at 167.0lbs, so only 7 more pounds to go and then I will open it! I can't wait... I bet there are so many clothes in there that I totally forgot about.. so it should be fun. :D

Yesterday was a good day... calories were on but I didn't do any treadmill workout exercise... I felt so exhausted yesterday and instead took doggy out for about 4 strolls around the block... so all added up that was probably about an hour of walking, so at least that's something. So I'll just call yesterday one of my two rest days for the week, and hopefully I'll get to the next workout today.

Today I weighed in the same as yesterday and a maintain for the next couple of days is just dandy with me... cos if my weight continues the pattern that it is now.. then in a few days I'll probably drop another pound, and I've got loads to drop. I can't believe how high my body's fat percentage is... scale says it's 39.5% fat! Argh! That's so crazy! My BMI right now is 28.3 and I've got to at least get down to 145lbs to make it into the Normal Weight category. But it can and it will be done. I feel like I'm on a mission this time and I've got this incredible inner power right now to succeed! :)

Yesterday was an alright day... calories were under 1500... they were 1496! Could I have gotten any closer to my limit? lol... yup, probably with a tic tac or two, hehe... It's strange.. my stomach must have really 'shrunk' these last couple of weeks... after I ate dinner yesterday... I felt soooooooo stuffed, like I had just eaten half a pizza and a couple of beers! lol. So the good thing is, is that I've been very satisfied with how I've been eating lately and how full and non-starving I've felt. Some days I think to myself, geez... am I really on a diet? I don't feel like I am... but the scales results the next day say I am! :peace:

I didn't get my Treadmill Workout in yesterday... I had felt very lethargic and ill, but I did get in about a 20 - 25 minutes walk with my son, and then 2 walks with doggy, about 15 minutes each.. so at least that was about 50 minutes of walking outside... getting some fresh air and seeing all the christmas lights! :D One of the neighbors just put up one of those blow up thingys, and this one is Homer Simpson dressed up as Santa, lol.. it's great. Another one has this ice-cuby snowman with flickering lights... my lights right now are blue that goes around the windows in the living room with a big white-light snowflake in the middle... simple yet elegant. Some of my neighbors are just crazy with their lights... very competitive with each other I think. But it's still great to go for walks and take them all in.

Anyway... today I will officially start Week 4 of Treadmill Workout. This is the last week that I only have to work out 5/7 days... next week the times increase AND I only get one rest day.. so that will be alot harder! Plus I want to start using my AB Lounge 3 times a week.

Yesterday I also went food shopping... ahh.. loads of healthy stuff in the fridge/freezer and pantry again! :D Makes being on a diet so much more fun and... non-dietish!

Thanks boblin. :)

The scale is moving slowly but surely. :) I'm at a point right now where I don't really mind if my weight-loss slows down. I'm just so happy that today is Day 21 of counting my calories and being on track, and today is also Week 4, Day 6 of my Treadmill Workout! :D I'm really loving my food choices and am even enjoying exercise... I'm very pleased that I managed to be "good" for awhile now and I'm hoping that I can continue to make it part of a healthy lifestyle. :hop:

I have not been here in a while. Hiya.

The exercise gets more fun over time. Seeing results made my treadmill time seem a lot less like torture, and adding more physical activities into my routine pushed me right over the edge towards thinking that exercise is actually fun. Food control issues are always shifting around with me, but I have found that exercise remains much more constant, and being in better shape allows me more room to play with calorie wise. If I eat too much one week, I just work out a little more then next. No biggie, so far.

I'm still concerned about you eating enough calories on some days. I have to eat less calories than other people at my size and exercise level as well (I calculated it at about 12% - 15% fewer calories), but am worried that your calories could be too low to maintain over the long run. I don't want to see you dealing with your body in full rebellion against your efforts later on.

Hang in there, and take care.

Hiya cfj!

I'm looking forward to the stage when exercise becomes fun for me. :) Right now, I'm at least starting to enjoy it.. much better than when I started out... I would literally just sigh and be like... alright.. let's get this over with... I keep finding that I've been moving more each day too.. whether it be a few more chores or taking son and doggy out for a walk... Yesterday me and my son played tag for about 30 minutes... Wow, does he have the energy and it sure wore me out, lol

Yeah, I guess my calories have been a little low lately... I guess it's a combination of being busy and I've just felt so full throughout the day! My stomach's been very pleased at what I've been giving it plus I've been slowly replacing my Diet Soda with lots of water... so I dunno... I guess as long as I don't feel like I am starving myself.. I should be able to keep up my calorie range for now.

Hiya Crazy! Thanks so much. :)

I will definitely keep doing what I'm doing for now! :)

Just 4 basic things..

1) 1500 calories or less each day
2) 30 minutes exercise, 5 times a week (Next week it increases to 6!)
3) Lots of water
4) Green Tea tablets, twice a day

And it really seems to be working too! When I came home from my Mom's on Thanksgiving, I weighed 172.6 lbs... and today I weighed in at 163.2lbs! :D So that's 9.4lbs lost in about 3 weeks... and only 3.2lbs to go until I open up that box of "Semi-Fit" clothes! Can't wait. :)

P.S. I changed my Christmas Goal ticker to 160lbs now... not really shooting for it or anything, but when I weighed in today I had reached my goal of going from 172.6 to 162.4! It would be nice to lose another 2 lbs but I won't push it. :)

Hello! Congrats on sticking to it and losing what u did. It takes awhile for our bodies and minds to accept the change after having bad habits for so long. For me eating out and delivery are very hard for me to make the right choices as i too lean toward what i shouldnt have like pizza, wings and so on. I mean when i crave something its like fattening or comforting foods, i dont crave raw carrots or salad. LOL
I have lost 50 pounds in the past and fell off the wagon and gained it back and after several years of being MIA i am back to try again.
Baby steps is the way to go, you are doing very well.

Hiya Angel Eyes! :) Thanks for stopping by.

Yup, it's taken me awhile too to steer away from the bad food choices and to start making healthy ones as part of an everyday lifestyle. I know exactly what you mean about craving the not-so-good for you stuff... raw veggies and salad aren't the first on my list! At least I'm getting myself to grab some nonfat yogurt, 100 calorie snack packs and even fresh fruit when those munchies hit me. I've been on a huge weight loss and gain rollercoaster ride for the past several years... and it's taken me until now to realize where that 'halfway point' is for dieting... usually I would just either starve myself and feel miserable... or just rip up my diet journal and say heck with it because in my mind if I gave up and stopped writing everything down then everything I ate didn't count... yeah, big mistake there!

So I've finally learned that the best way to take weight off and keep it off is to do it slowly and like you said, baby steps...

Welcome back to DietTalk. :) This is such a great site... so many great people and it's just sooo motivating! Good luck to you on your weight-loss journey and I wish you the best! :)

Hi Blue!

I have just been reading through your journal and all I can say is WOW!!! WAY TO GO!!!

Congratulations.

Thanks going2suceed!

Yup, tracking food and exercise seems to be working for me. :)
Besides logging it here, I have a fuzzy blue journal that I keep in my kitchen to write everything down.. Last week I went to the NBC Universal store and bought myself a Christmas present... a Biggest Loser Calorie Counter Book, and a Biggest Loser Notebook w/ matching pen so I can start off the New Year with a shiny new journal! :D Plus Emily is starting a Diet Talk Biggest Loser Challenge on January 8th so that will go nicely together.

I'm loving the challenges on here.. so many to choose from and it's great that so many people join too... very exciting and motivating for me... I totally give the 10lb Challenge - Round 1 all the credit for keeping me going to lose my last 10lbs.

Well anyway... TOM arrived yesterday and so he has me all moody and bloaty... I'm hoping he does what he did last month... leave and take a few pounds with him! I did have a tiny 0.2lb loss this morning so that's a little something to smile about. :) I'm FINALLY starting to get excited about Christmas... I'll be visiting my parents on Dec 26 and my sister from California is flying in... so it'll be great to see her.. plus I have aunts and uncles coming in too.. and on Dec 27 my old highschool is having an alumni party for my year and a few years after, so I've been convincing my friends to go too... it'll be great to see all my old buddys again... last time I think I saw them was almost 3 years ago when they came to my wedding! So I've got lots to look forward to. I just hope that I can be 'good', foodwise, while I'm away from home... I have a tendency to overeat when I'm around my family.. I guess it's the whole childhood thing of trying to please my Mom by eating loads of her good cooking... she's lost loads of weight over these last few years so I'm hoping this year she doesn't make much, lol... I think I'll be alright. :)

Thanks going2suceed :)

Well, Thursday I was a little naughty... I started tasting all these sweeties my hubby had bought for Christmas... bon-bons, truffles, shortbread and these Butter Rum Almonds... I guess I overdid it a little bit and I just stopped writing stuff down... :o

But by some miracle I've managed to still maintain and I'm once again back on track... maybe it's my body's little way of 'rewarding' me for all the hard work I've done...

After eating that stuff, I didn't feel guilty, but more annoyed... not with myself, just that all that stuff didn't taste nearly as nice as I expected, lol. I believe I have my body (and my tastebuds) well trained now for healthy-ish stuff.. I actually prefer the taste of a nice multigrain muffin to a buttery cookie, and the taste of a nonfat flavored yogurt to Ben & Jerry's! Strange, huh?? Both strange and exciting I think! :D That just gives me more energy and more motivation that I CAN and WILL succeed this time!

Well yesterday I did ok... ok cos calories were on target, but no exercise... So I'm giving myself a thumbs down for that... I had taken Thursday as my rest day for the week and was SUPPOSE to exercise yesterday, but didn't, ARGH! I gave into my laziness... I am going to try really hard to do my workout today... it's not really hard or anything.. these past few weeks have given me great endurance for it.. it's just finding the right time when nobody is bugging me, lol, and when I'm in the right mood... I just have to be in the mood to exercise, or else I do it, but I don't give it nearly half the effort.. so I will set a time for today.. probably later this evening before dinner, after we do our final run to the mall and grocery store for some last minute Christmas supplies... it's amazing what you forget to buy and what you seem to really need once all the stores are closed on Christmas day! Don't need much though... milk, some fresh veggies and diapers.. yes, interesting shop there, lol...
