Spring Fling 2007

Hi

It is April 17. I haven’t posted in my other journal in so long that I decided to start a new one.

My goal is still the same. To get healthy in 2007. The doctor says losing weight would help a lot but it is not happening. I go up and down depending on how much water I’m retaining.

Back in January I had made up a schedule of appointments I need to make and keep.
February: pap smear: Had, was abnormal, doc is waiting until addition test come to decide what to do next.
Eyes postponed until summer

March: dentist couldn’t get an appointment, postponed until summer.

April: mammogram Have tomorrow:)

May: Heart ct, blood work: having done tomorrow
Follow up appt: Will make the appt tomorrow hopefully for Friday or earlier next week.

My only other goal for the year is to improve my Spanish. I am working on this. I’m going to take a class after my vacation this summer. I’m also probably going to buy a car this summer. That will give me more freedom.

I’m feeling pretty good. I still get moments of overwhelming exhaustion and have to lie down. This usually when my blood pressure drops real low. The weather has turned beautiful and that helps a lot. I’m exercising daily and continue to take my meds.

I’ve joined a bowling league and bowl 2 days a week. It is a lot of fun.

Current weight: 173.6 lbs
Goal #1: 169 lbs

I had all my tests done last week. The doctor added a couple extra blood tests. Joy, Joy. My mammogram went well and I don’t have to go back for a year. I get the results of my CT on Thursday. As far as my other test go:
Liver function: good
Blood Sugar: 86 good
Cholesterol: 166 (40 point drop)
Triglycerides: 87 (80 point drop)
LDL: 105.6 (30 point drop) still too high for someone with heart problems
HDL: 43 (up 8 points) still low, should be over 50

I’ve come a long way in the last months. I still have some work to do on my levels but for the most part they look great. Hopefully, my CT will come back good as well.

Last week turned out to be very busy and my weekend was nonstop. Today I have forced myself to sit down and write in my journal. I did exercise this weekend. And I ate well except for yesterday. But today I am back on plan. My washing machine broke over the weekend. Water was coming out of the bottom of it. So I had to wait on a repairman today. He took one look and it and said it was old and rusted. I told him that last time they were out for the same thing. Anyways, they gave me a new one and I can finish this mountain of laundry. I need to get outside and do some yard work.

Well, that’s about it. I’m off to fold clothes.

Good Morning

Weight 175.8
Goal #1 169

Over the weekend my weight shot up to 178.8. That was not good. But today I'm back. I'm trying to increase my exercise. I got the Biggest Loser 2 video. I thought I would try that. I need to cross train some. I need more than walking for cardio. I'm at an inbetween spot. I'm beyond the beginning level of things but level two gets my heart rate way up. So I'm trying to do some days of easy and some days of medium hard. I've added weights and yoga back in.

My eating has been surprising good. So has my water. The weather has turned warm with yesterday in the 80's.

It is 10 am and I have done nothing. I have a meeting at noon and I have not done anything. I really need to get moving but am enjoying just sitting playing on the computer.
