Well I thought that yesterday I would just go down to the hospital and get my sugar professonally tested and get some advice. Within 10 mins of getting there I was in a room with and IV in my arm and blood being drawn. That was a little bit of a wake up call for me. I have been offically diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. However there is good news, this is the type of diabetes that can be reversable. It is not going to be easy, I know this. But it is something that has to be delt with before I will no longer be able to deal with anything. While this disease may be reversable, it is not to be taken lightly, it is a deadly disease. I will be ok. I have any amazing support system my friends, and family. WIth their help I will pull through this.

Welcome, we all have learned tricks to making this journey a bit easier, but its never 100% easy for most of us. Good luck to you. I know you are going to get there as long as you remember that same days are flat lands, some days are hills and other days are mountains but remember there is always other sides to those hills and mountains.

Hi, Ambie:

Welcome to the Journal Forum. I am a type 2 diabetic myself, and my diabetes is currently controlled with healthy eating and exercise and oral meds. I lost a lot of weight several years ago so I was able to go off the oral meds for quite a while, but now I am back on them.

Diabetes is no fun at all, but you can still live a full and happy life. It is great that you have a good support system with your family and friends, and there is also lots of support here at Diettalk.

Study up on your diabetes, learn all you can about your condition. It will seem less scary then. Really, it will. And the best of luck to you.

Looks like you have already started with the loss, so Congrats on that. We will have hills to over come on this journey but we can and will get over them! Have a great day!......Hugs, Millie
