First of all I know it is a boring journal title , but it is what it is.
I joined here last week and as I have been lurking I have found lots of encouragement and support. I like that.
I am not sure what my specific goals are yet, but I do know that I have quite a few pound to loose. I am at 278. I had always told myself that I woud never go over 200, then 225, then 250 and then 275. This has got to stop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am an adoptive mom to two wonderful children, DS is 5 and DD is 4,I want to be around and be active with them while they still want me to be with them. I am aware the time is coming when they need to be independent. But right now it is really hard to keep up. I may have a stress fracture in my foot because ofmy weight. That sucks big time. I will find out for sure tomorrow. If I do it will really slow down any activities we can do.
At one point about 10 years ago I lost about 75 pounds and kept it off for three years. Then I moved back to Illinois and then my mom got really sick. I just piled it back on and have kept piling since then.
The diet plan that worked for me was called Weigh Down Workshop. It was based on Biblical principles. Especially that you should go to God first before you went to food to ease your pain. It stressed eating ONLY when you were truely hungry and stopping when you were satisfied and NOT when you were full. You should be able to bend over and tie your shoes without any difficulty or making any unnatural noises.
You start by finding true hunger. This could take a few hours or a few days. Mine took almost two days. Then you stop and think about what you really want to eat and then eat it. UNTIL you are satisfied then STOP. It doesn't matter what you eat. I ate oreos for two days. Then one day I was thinking about what I wanted to eat and I was hungry for carrots, mind you I am NOT a veggie person so this really supprised my. I actually had to go to the store to get some. Let me tell you carrots never tasted so good. After a while your body will tell you what it needs to be healthey. I knew when I needed to eat some fruit, some veggies, some meat. all from listining to my body.
Just a warnig for anyone who reads this and looks up Weigh Down Workshop, the owner/president what ever you want to call her is taking some real negative heat on her usiing unethical business practices. I don't agree with what she is doing but I know that her plan has worked for me in the past and I will probably folllow the weight loss principles anyway.
WEll I could ramble on here forever, but i am going to go check out some other journals
