Just getting some ideas of who is in. If Beth isnt back in a few days I will post the official one this weekend.

The next boot camp will be May 29 - June 25

Here is the general idea:

This boot camp lasts for 28 days.

It is a no excuse challenge - does not matter what happens in our lives, we must stick to the commitment we make when we enter this challenge - hence the name boot camp lol

You set your own goals and commitments, but if you don't met them - you get booted out of the challenge. ( see exception below ) Harsh? Yes it is and I got booted out of my own challenge the last 2 times we did this.

I have created a penalty fine to give each of us a second chance to remain in the challenge.

[I]Some more of the rules are:

1. You must post at least 2 times a week

2. you must give support to at least 1 other boot camp member ( of your chose ) 1 time a week. Have a great week smallfri does NOT count as a supportive post!

3. you must post a weigh in ON or BEFORE MIDNIGHT AT/IN the boot camp weigh in forum thread of these specific dates - NO EXCEPTIONS! ( I understand time zones and will allot for those )

6th - 15th & the 25th of June

You do NOT have to post your actual weight - you DO have to keep track of your starting weight ( on your own if you wish ) as of May 29th and post specific losses or gaines on or before the dates posted above. - This change is at the request of several people who do not wish to post their actual weight, but will post their losses or gains.

The weigh in dates/guidelines have been unclear in the other boot camps - this time I am making it very specific so there is no misunderstandings. If you do not post a weigh in on or before the dates above, you will be given a penalty fine.

I will do weigh in tally's as soon as possible after the said dates above, as my time permits - BUT a weigh in after the said date/dates above will not be included and a fine will be given out.

4. There will be 2 surprise challenges handed on in this boot camp - I assure you they will be something everyone can do - BUT you must complete them or you will be given a fine. I will allow enough time for each of us to read about and complete the challenges.

I will not PM you or post any reminders to anyone about these rules - it is up to you to keep track of how often you are posting and such. I will be keeping track, but only so I know if any penalty fines need to be given out. Each of my post to boot camp in general will always be in red text - so you need to watch for any posts from me in red

If you "mess up" and are willing to pay the penalty fine you can stay in boot camp.
The penalty fine is HARD but nothing none of us can't do. I mean like you don't have to run 10 miles or anything lol.

The penalty fines will one of the following:

1. you must increase your water intake by 32 ozs more daily for 3 days
2. you must increase your daily exercise by an additional 15 minutes for 3 days
3. you must eat 3 servings of vegs and 2 of fruit daily ( unless you already do this ) for 3 days
4. you must plan all your meals for 3 days and stick to that plan ( unless you already do that )
5. you must keep and post a journal of everything you eat/drink for 3 days and tells us why you made those choices with a no excuse attitude.

You will be allowed to chose your own penalty fine - keep in mind, the fines are to HELP you in this challenge, not to punish you. You will as always be on your honor to this challenge thread.

If you fail at the penalty fine - you are out of boot camp ( for this time ).
- You are only allowed 1 penalty fine !

The whole idea of this challenge is to teach us keep our commitments to ourselves and develop a no excuse attitude and lifestyle.

If you make it through boot camp, you get a certificate stating something like "I graduated from DT healthy living boot camp" - and a secret "prize" to be emailed to those who are OK with giving out their email address ( its OK if you don't want to ).

Personal Note* ........Please note this is YOUR boot camp - I will do my very best to "led" and encourage each of you, BUT I can not do this alone ! I just like each of you have a separate life away from DT, and have family, work and such to tend to.
If you come on here and see that someone is having a rough go of it - don't assume that I or someone else will support/help them - take 2 minutes and post to your boot camp team member - show them you care.
I will be real blunt with you. I have been a part of many challenges here at DT and have seen the lack of this really hurt peoples feelings. You will not be given a penalty fine, as I won't try to force someone to be caring, but I am asking each of you to be aware of someone in need and to reach out to them.

a little about the next boot camp - changes:


1. the buddy system - this is to hopefully help the drop out rate, if you have a buddy to support as well as to turn to. we have only 6 of the 15 that sign up at this date. buddys will be chosen the old fashion - names in a "hat" method and posted.

2. the weigh in date will be a specific date - not day. you can weigh in before it, but not after it to be included in the tally and to be within boot camp guidelines.


this is YOUR boot camp , so this is up to YOU. Let me know your opinions.

we start May 29 - no slacking lol

buddy system is where you would be assigned a boot camp buddy that you specifically are teamed up with to support - would not effect your boot camp status if they were to drop out or be removed ..... just trying to think of new ways to try to create more support here - open to ALL ideas :)

PS: remember THIS boot camp goes to May 28th :D

EVERYONE !!!!!!! I really need your feedback/opinion on the buddy system ( last 2 posts of mine above ) - post your thoughts soon or I will be on my own with a decision ( which I don't like to do ).

I think the buddy system is a good idea.. it gets us involved in someone besides ourselves! Some people may end up with two buddies as there may not be an even number of us involved in boot camp. The more the merrier. The more specific (geared directly at me) motivation I get... the better I will do.... the more I will give.... and on and on.

I think the buddy system is a good idea. I liked the other way also. Either way is fine with me. (I am not good with decisions either.lol)

Hi

I think the buddy system is a good idea but I'm not sure of how good of a buddy I will be. I barely support myself at times. Plus we are going to be traveling alot. I will be lucky to post.

I'm in again! I'll have to think about my goals. I felt like my goals for the current challenge were just about right -- do-able, but not so easy that I didn't have to work. I might tweak them a bit though to challenge myself a little bit more. :)

I've posted my thoughts on the buddy idea on the thread for the current challenge. In a nutshell: I think it's a nice idea.

The offical thread with all the changes to new guidelines/rules and such is ready - everyone must sign up here and post their goals by May 29th . Posting your goals actually counts as a sign up - sorry I am at my daughters and am doing this around 2 babies lol
