I am European and I am 25 years old.
I am making this journal and registering here because I really need your support and help... :( I have tried maaaany diets and always failed in the end.
I gained lots of weight because of some medicines... now it's so hard to lose them... I exercise a LOT and don't eat much but still don't lose or almost nothing. Doctors don't want to help me. So I have to do it all alone.
Tomorrow I'll start my diet and I want it to be the last one. I'll tell you how much I weigh then.
Hopefully in some months, I'll recognize myself in the mirror.

I am also 25, and this is a great time to get healthy! I have gained at least 40 pounds since high school, and want it gone!
It's awesome that you already do a lot of exercise, but how much eating do you consider not much? With working out a lot, you need more food, otherwise you won't lose the weight! Please tell us more about a typical day in the life of "Simple Person". :)

Today I weigh 213.2 lbs...... :( :( :( :( I just can't believe it... My goal would be around 130lbs at first... we'll see once I weigh this.
MelsaEstel, when I said I don't eat much, I mean't I eat less than the least calories I should eat ("basal"?)... I can burn around 3000 calories one day and eat only 1500 for example. If I eat more, I don't lose or I even gain... But you are right to say if I don't eat enough, I won't lose either, because the body will get used to it.
A typical day :
Morning : cereals Special K + non fat milk
Lunch : a small salad (don't eat much before work or i'll get sleepy lol)
Diner : a bigger meal like half a pizza or pasta or things like that...
But I eat differently when I work differently.

lovemyjeep 05-26-07, 10:43 AM Hi and welcome to DT. I hope you find the support you are looking for. I am around the same weight as you are and have changed my goals around so many times. Finally I said I would listen to my body. You've made the right decision to start a journal and get the support from these wonderful people.

smallfri 05-26-07, 10:51 AM welcome simple. I agree with everyone. But also try different things. If you are burning that much a day. I would up it, also, I dont see many fruits or veggies in there. Try having a bitter salad in there. Add some meat or nuts.

I weigh 211.2lbs today so I've lost 2lbs in 2 days.
Thank you for the messages you posted... I gave an example of diet day I do but it's obvious I don't eat the same all the time... I eat many vegetables... less fruits I admit. Smallfri what does "to up it" means? If it means burn even more calories, well I can't, I do a hard job and it's hurting my body that's telling me already "help"... if I do more, I might not be able to work anymore. if I eat less, I'll feel dizzy and weak. I hope to keep on losing that way all the time... I have to be hungry but I'll deal with it, it's the price for having those damn medicines that don't allow me to eat enough. Thank you for the advices, people. and for the needed encouragements. :)

simpleperson 07-14-07, 09:51 AM hello everyone... it's been a while i haven't posted here... why? because i start a diet, then stop, then start again and stop again...
These days i've lost some weight but it's not because of a healthy food or exercise... it's simply because i've almost not eaten... there is trouble between a friend and i... he means a lot to me and am very sad because he's thinking about ending our friendship... :( ... it's complicated... i didn't betray him or anything like that, just needed for simple things but i guess i didn't deserve it... too complicated to explain... i feel so bad... i should have smiled and not said a thing... i care so much for him... been trembling inside since there is this problem... same feeling as when my dog died or when a family member died, i was physically weakened... i miss him... :( now i feel guilty of eating... been feeling very weak... didn't eat at all the first day... almost nothing the second day... this is the third day today, could eat this morning but for lunch, i can have just a tea. Am hungry but can't eat anything. His friendship is so important that i know i won't be able to eat normally as long as it's not worked out... i can't even tell him, that wouldn't be right... oh well why do i bother you all with this... sorry people... thanks for having read me... have a nice day.
Amarantha 07-15-07, 10:42 PM Sorry you are going through this rough time, Simple! Please be sure to eat enough, though, even if you don't feel like it and have to force yourself somewhat. It will help a lot when working through this ... and you will work through it, we always do, even when it's hard to see how we will.
Just wanted to comment a bit on your earlier postings and discussion of your menu that went on a bit. It seems from looking at it that you don't eat much protein. I'd be willing to bet you'd be more successful at losing if you "up" the calories with a bit more protein, say some peanut butter, a little chicken or tuna, a snack of a few ounces of cheese with some crackers.
