It is so interesting to hear the things some people collect.

For me, I collect white knob wind up toys. I started collecting them when I was a child. Still have my first one. I just thought they were cute and fun. I only have about 25 so far. They are so hard to find, but anytime I do find some, I buy them!

I also love Mary Englebreit and I collect anything with her artwork on it.

One more thing, pop-up books.

I think I'm a child at heart!

Can't wait to here about some other things people are collecting!

I collect old buttons. Mostly black jet is what I seem to find, or black glass. I have quite a few of them. I haven't run into any lately though.

The second thing I collect is fabric and patterns tons and tons of them. I have used a few of the buttons on the fabric.

I also collect exercise videos, ugh. I have probably 100 exercise videos. Man I am warped. It would be ok except I don't do the damn things.

I also am collecting Stained glass tools, cuz I took that up about a year ago. Yikes.

I used to collect vintage clothing, but it was such a hassle finding it. I sold most of it but kept my best pieces. Of course they are too small for me //crybaby.

This might seem odd for a woman, but I collect Aircraft pins. It's been a couple years, but we love to go to airshows. So we have aircraft pictures, paintings, etc. I started the collection about 11 years ago.

Also collect Plastic canvas books. I do crafts, and one of the big things I do is with the plastic canvas. I still have every book I have ever used. Started doing it when I was about 8 years old. So that's about hmmmm lets see. LOL 22 years worth.

Also started collecting some precious moment things when I found out I was pregnant. I wanted her nursery done in Precious Moments mostly. I also found 2 plastic canvas books and made a lot of things that I put in her nursery. Really cute things too. Sure saved a lot of money.

This was a good post. It's fun to see what people collect.
Thanks,
Stacey

Hi there,
I collect angels...I really love the "friends of a feather" ones. I started because my mother and my sisters in West Virginia were collecting and I wanted to feel a connection with them up here in New York. When my mother died she left me her angels and they are the most precious to me.

I've been collecting Dust Bunnies. I keep them under all the furniture.

This is a recent collection. It got started at the same time I started spending so much time here at DT every day!

I collect too much. My husband wishes I would get rid of some of it. Angels, certain Hallmark ornaments (especially Barbie & the Wizard of Oz), Carnival glass & china bowls or plates with painted roses. I don't know what the "Friends of a Feather" angels are, Marilyn - please enlighten me! This is a fun topic.

I collect Beanie Babies. Mostly the older ones before they announced they weren't going to make any more. I only have a few of the 2000's, and none of the new 2001's. I've also been collecting Daffy Duck items for a couple of years. (Stuffed toys, watches, pins and such)
Everyone have a great day!

Hi Neek, this is cool, someone did this topic awhile back, but it's cool to do them again since there's always newbies!!!

I collect Dreamsicles, which are little ceramic cherubs. I only have a few so far, hubby started buying them for me. Also anything that has to do with unicorns. Been collecting since I was a kid. Have pictures, figurines, candles, etc....I just think that they are beautiful, even if they are imaginary. LOL!!

It's really interesting to know what everyone collects.

I have just recently started collecting snow globes. I loved them when I was little and now they are even better. Some you can wind up and they play music and make the snow fly at the same time.

I collect Swarovski crystal animals. They always reminded me of the girl Laura In "The Glass Menagerie" by Tennessee Williams.
I also collect David Winter cottages, just because I find them beautiful!

Neek.... this is fun. What are "white knob wind up toys". They sound interesting, but I've never heard of them.

LOL, Thinlyn.... you collect dustbunnies and Yellow..... you collect pounds! LOL I think I have both of those collections, too!!

I currently collect angels and porcelain dolls. My mom started the porcelain Princess Diana dolls that are really detailed and nice, but I don't keep them out. I used to collect clowns, but they are all boxed up right now and have been for about 10 years.

DJ,

I collect the wind-up toys that have the white knobs that you turn to wind up as opposed to the old fashioned wind up tin toys. The wind up toys I collect are made out of plastic rather than the tin ones.

I collect erasers, I have over 500 of them, all so cute too.

I collect stickers, I have over 1000 of them, LOL... I buy some every week.

I collect pencils and pens, but they have to be cute to make it into my collection.

I collect photos of my friends, I stick them in a book with their biography!

I collect all silly stuff, but I love it!

Massie,

You sound like a pack rat, just like me! I still have my sticker collection from when I was in elementary school. I never thought about continuing to collect them. Uh, oh, just gave me an idea! Won't my husband be pleased! I also have an extensive selection of smiley faces. That collection started pretty much by accident. The smiley face was my classroom mascot. I'd give out smiley stickers, lollipops, etc. to my students. My kids starting bringing me all these smiley face paraphenalia as gifts. Now every time one of my kids see a smiley face, they think of me! Such sweeties! =)

I collect lighthouses, because I think that they are absolutely beautiful and magical. I also collect Sea Glass, I go hunting for it on the beaches here in MA every summer since I have lived here. I think that the Sea Glass is fascinating because it is something you would never ever find where I grew up in Phoenix AZ!

Why don't I see these fun topics till they're 3 days old? I spend all my time here at DT (also collect dust bunnies). I collect depression glass--mostly Manhattan Pattern, but some others too if I find them cheap.

With my oldest daughter I collect the 101 Dalmations from the first McDonalds set.

With my middle daughter I collect Noah's Ark stuff and Pandas.

Can't wait to see what I'll collect with the baby.

My husband collects milk bottles and old apothacary bottles from local dairies and drug stores.

We also collect books, every room in our house has at least one large book shelf crammed full (that includes the kitchen and the bathroom).

Oh, yeah, I collect herbs for my garden too.

I have always thought of collecting frogs! I don't know why but I don't have any collections. I always fine stuff to buy for other people because I know they collect it. It drives me crazy. I only have a couple of angels because If I buy one I usually always give it to my mother-in-law :) I guess I collect books. I read a lot! My husband thinks it funny that I can read, watch TV and carry on a conversation with him! lol

Inspired,

My best friend collects frogs and everytime I see a frog, I just have to buy it. It started as kind of a joke. She picked out her wedding invitations that had two frogs sitting on a lily pad and it said "Guess who's taking a leap?" She's a kooky soul and it fits her perfectly! Now she has frogs all over her house. Ribbit!

I collect vintage Christmas decorations. Christmas is my favorite time of year and I love having the house decorated beautifully at Christmas. I like to buy all year and I like to find things that I used to have in my childhood home. At our house, we collect Pokemon cards also! My son and I search together for cards that aren't in his collection. What a cool topic, I am glad you posted this

Thanks

Recently (the past 2 years) I began to collect paintings. I especially love miniature landscapes and seascapes. Ebay is my favorite place to find things - because you can get really wonderful pictures for a tiny price. I'm not rich, so bargains are my favorite art collectibles.

I also collect unset faceted gemstones. I've been collecting those for over 20 years and have a pretty extensive collection that I delight in looking over. When they started manufacturing gems, like cubic zirconia, I started to collect them as well. I keep those in a bowl on my coffee table. There's about a pound of them by now in all sizes, colors and cuts. Everyone loves to play with them. They plunge their hands into the bowl and let them run through their fingers. They say that it's like being the discoverer of a treasure chest. I like to watch their faces when they play with the sparklers.

There is another thing I've been collecting for about 32 years - FAT. Right now I am working on getting rid of every bit of that collectible commodity. And I know that DT is going to be a big help with that project.
