View Full Version : Sign-Up for a NEW 'Healthy Living Boot Camp'

Here is the sign-up sheet for the upcoming Boot Camp. It will start Monday, February 4th. You must be signed up on this thread before it starts. Here is a little info about how it works.

Boot Camp will be February 4th - February 25th.

On February 4th, you'll post a starting weight on the weigh-in thread.

You set your own goals and commitments and if you don't meet them, you're out of the challenge. This is a 'NO EXCUSE' challenge. It doesn't matter what's going on in your life, we need to stick to the commitment we are making here. After all, this is Boot Camp! :mus:

You must post at least 3 times per week to let us know how you're doing and to support others.

You must post a weigh-in every week. The first week it will be on Monday, February 4th. After that it can be ANY day of the week you choose, but you must post one weigh-in between Monday and the following Monday. Plus you have to post a final weigh-in on Monday, February 25th as that is the final day of Boot Camp. So you will have a minimum of 4 weigh-ins at the end of camp.

Now, we're all not perfect, lol. You will be allowed ONE slip-up. Of course, you're on your honor as far as this goes. If you slip up, you'll need to take a penalty fine to stay in the challenge. You can choose from the following penalties.

1. You must increase your water intake by 32 oz. for the next 3 days.
2. You must increase your daily exercise by an additional 15 minutes for the next 3 days.
3. You must keep and post a journal of everything you eat/drink for the next 3 days.

If you fail to complete your penalty, you're out of the challenge. If you slip up a second time, you're out of the challenge.

The whole idea of this challenge is to help us to keep our commitment to ourselves and to develop a 'no excuse' attitude and lifestyle.

If you're planning on joining, please post you're intention HERE on this thread. Also, any questions you have, you post here. The actual Boot Camp thread and weigh-in thread will be started a day or two before Boot Camp starts. If you sign up, be thinking about your goals!

I'll give this a shot. And I will work on my goals and post them. You don't want those in here. I still have a weight in before the 4th. So hopefully it will be lower than now.

Yogi - I kind of wish it started sooner too! After I posted it, I thought maybe I should have put down this coming Monday. But I knew I wouldn't have things ready as I worked all day today and my son and grandsons are coming tomorrow.

I'll get the other threads for Boot Camp up and running next weekend. :)

Great! So far there are 14 of us. Hopefully later today or tomorrow, I'll have the other threads ready to go. The goal thread will be the one where we post our goals and check-in and chat. The weigh-in thread will be posted, ready for Monday morning, but there shouldn't be ANY posts there before Monday morning, except my original post. EVERYONE must post a starting weight at some point ON MONDAY. This is a requirement of Boot Camp.

As soon as I have the goal thread ready, feel free to post your goals if you have them ready. They should be posted BEFORE Monday morning, but if you want to post them sometime Monday, that is fine. But remember, you have to be following your goals ON MONDAY. There will be further info on that thread. I will try to send out PM's over the weekend as a reminder that you signed up and that your goals and starting weight are due on Monday.

I'm getting excited about this, although I kind of wish it started tomorrow. Since I goofed over the weekend and am out of the last one, I seem to be giving myself some slack this week. And that can only spell trouble. I did good for 2 days, now today I went out and had a big breakfast. That will be fine unless I blow the rest of the day too! Hopefully, I'll show some restraint. I really need this Boot Camp to get into shape for my daughter's wedding. I think I'm wearing a strapless dress, so I need to get my chicken wings slapped into shape! :laugh: I think I'll stop at the gym this afternoon and see how much it will be for a membership.

Boot Camp IS tough! But that's what it's all about - just doing it with no excuses. But I think it gets you into a good groove. I'm in a crappy one this week. :o I've been feeling sorry for myself, I've got to change that!
