:coach: WELCOME TO BOOT CAMP! :mus:

This Boot Camp will start on February 4th and end on February 24th. Your last weigh-in will be posted on Monday, February 25th. That is a total of 21 days. This is a 'no excuse' challenge. It doesn't matter what happens in your life during these 21 days, we are making a commitment and we need to stick to it! It doesn't matter if you're having your period and you're bloated. You still need to stick to your plan and exercise in accordance with your posted goals. If your weight is up because of your period, so be it, so long as you stuck to your goals. We don't court marshall you for a gain so long as you're sticking to the rules of the challenge.

You need to set your own goals. Your food plan should be something that you follow EVERY day of the challenge. Your exercise can be whatever you want and however many days per week you want - with one exception. You need to exercise a minimum of 3 days per week. It doesn't have to be for 2 hrs. a day, so long as it is planned exercise. If you want to walk 15 min. per day/3 days per week and you state that as your goal, that's fine. But then you need to do it. But if in your goals you state that you're going to exercise 1 hour per day/5 days per week, you can't exercise 30 min. one of those days and count it!

You should list at least 3 goals for the challenge. You can have more than that if you want. Now........no one is perfect. You will be allowed one slip-up during the 21 days. If you mess up even one of your goals, you'll need to take a penalty if you want to remain in the challenge. If you mess up a second time, you're out of the challenge. Here are the penalties - you can choose which one you want to take. You must state which one you're doing and report on it EACH DAY for the following 3 days.

PENALTIES:

1. You must increase your water intake by 32 ozs. more per day for the next three days.

2. You must increase your exercise by an additional 15 minutes for the next three days.

3. You must keep and post a journal of everything you eat/drink for the next three days.

If you do get booted out of the challenge, please don't think we're gonna be mad at you or think bad of you or anything like that. If you get booted, you'll be MORE THAN WELCOME to join the next Boot Camp if there is another one. You can also come and post whenever you want if you feel like it.

This thread is open to posting now. If you know what your goals are going to be, feel free to post them anytime. You have the right to edit your goals through Sunday night. Monday morning is too late.

Also, I reserve the right to edit this post, lol. I might have forgotten something - it's getting rather late and I'm tired. Also, any questions can be posted here. Or any suggestions can be made. Smallfri - feel free to add anything that I might have forgotten. :D

Okay, I'm editing back in already, as I realize I forgot something.

One of your goals should be that you will following your eating plan every day of the week. If you mess up on Wednesday, you need to take a penalty for the next three days. If you mess up on Wednesday AND Thursday, you don't wait until Monday and then say 'oh, I messed up my goal of eating 'on plan' for the week, I need to take a penalty'. No - that's 2 slip-ups and you're out of the challenge. Not following your food plan on Wednesday is one slip-up and warrants a penalty. Thursday is a second slip-up, so that would put you out of the challenge. I hope this makes sense.

Okay, I guess I'm going first. My goals aren't anything fancy or new, just things I know I need to be consistent about if I want to lose weight. And if I don't quit eating this week, I'm gonna be upset on Monday when I weigh for the challenge.

1. Stay 'on plan' 7 days per week. By 'on plan' I mean that I follow WW's, but I still look at my calorie count on Fitday.

2. Exercise 4 days per week. That will put me about every other day. If I exercise more, that will be a bonus.

3. Drink a minimum of 80 oz. per day, at least 40 oz. being water.

4. Consume a minimum of 20 grams of fiber per day.

5. Track my food everyday at Fitday.

There you have it. I doubt that I'll edit my goals before Monday, but I could.

Awesome goals mel!

mine are as follows

1. EXERCISE five days a week, at least 30 min. each time.
2. To not exceed 1500 calories a day, and to make the most of those 1500 calories so that I will feel the most healthy and have the most energy...so I plan on cutting a lot of the processed crap, even the hundred calorie crap that I eat....
3. also to drink a minimum of 80 oz of H20 a day.
4. get at least 7 hours of sleep 5 out of 7 nights a week!

There, sounds like good goals to me! See everyone on weigh in day!
Thanks again for getting this started Mel, I really appreciate it!

1. Do points monday, tuesday, wednesday, and everyother weekend. On thursday, friday, and work weekend try to not eat junk, if I need more food or have to go off track, it will only be good healthy snacks. Or make sure they fit into my points.
2. Exercise at least 3 days a week.
3. Drink my water everyday.

...so I plan on cutting a lot of the processed crap, even the hundred calorie crap that I eat....

Good idea, Yogi. I think I'll do the same.

Smallfri - isn't it tough to get that jug down? I'd just drink the water.

This is my first boot camp, so hopefully my goals are good.

1. Food - this one is tough for me as I am still figuring out a food plan. So, for me I am trying to figure out what my plan is. However, what I CAN say will be that I will eat more fruits and veggies, get my dairy in, and eat less red meat.

2. Exercise - I will exercise 5 days a week. Cardio for 5 days, and weights 3 of those 5 days. My cardio will include treadmill and recumbent (sp) bike. Minimum of 30 minutes each day. Weights will be at least 1 circuit on each machine. Weights are new for me, so I am going to be building up on this. (I have to figure out what to do on snow days. This week I wasn't able to workout for 3 days in a row because Wednesday was a normal day off and Thursday/Friday was snow days).

3. Drinking more fluids (water, coffee, flavored water, etc) and no soda.

Everyone's goals look fine so far. For those of you that are first timers, don't worry - especially about your 'on plan' goals. We're all doing different things, so 'on plan' means different things to different people. And that's okay. You're on your honor as to staying on plan, but you should know what that means 'to you'. I wouldn't think 10 chocolate chip cookies would be 'on plan' for anyone, but for me, ONE chocolate chip cookie could fit into my WW's plan. I'm hoping not to have any, but you never know!

I am still thinking on this..... I don't want to set too easy of goals and yet I don't want to get the boot either

will be back

Mel
02-03-08, 03:07 PM
Good idea to think about it. If you set too high of goals, you could be setting yourself up to fail. Too easy isn't good either. Just pick something that will challenge you a little.

I did something this afternoon that I've been talking about doing for quite some time. And it will benefit me greatly, I think. I went and signed up at 'Anytime Fitness'. It's only about 2 miles from my house and of course it has great hours, lol. I called this afternoon and someone was going to be there all afternoon. So I went in, talked to them and signed up. I have my key and I'm all set. I hope to get there tomorrow morning - then I have to work the rest of the day and evening. I don't work very many hours in February, so I should have plenty of time to take advantage of it. And when my hours do pick back up, I can even go after work at night if I want. My son has a membership there and he really likes it. I hope I do!

I had thought about signing up at the 'Y' which is about 1/2 mile from our house, but they have TERRIBLE hours. I think this will be much better for me.

Beth

Goals:

1. 2 glasses of water a day

2. exercise 3 times a week

3. track my food every day

Those may see like easy steps - but for me they are not.
1. I hate water
2. exercise - I always put it off ( I did not state specific amounts of time due to my back injury every day is different )
3. tracking my food is a HABIT I really NEED to acquire.

Mel, way to go on joining the gym !

PS: Dt shows my post time as 12:25 - but here it is only 11:25, so I am not late lol ;)

My wi this morning is going to suck, which is not cool but what are you going to do. I ate horribly yesterday, no excuse really, just had some wierd cravings, which means TOM is lurking and well once again I didnt control myself. Then for superbowl, I was muching on pickles and pepper rings, salt, two mike's hard lemonade, more salt, a few mini sausages, even more salt, a few hot wings, look see keep the salt coming, and then my friends boyfriend brought his beans over, white beans, with ham, oh gee why didnt I just eat the salt container, and to top it off I mixed it with the hot sauce from the wings, heck forget the salt shacker, bring on the box. Yes, I am suffering this morning, and well all last night, I must have drank a full jug of water during the night, I woke up at one point and could barely move my fingers the hurt so bad from being swollen. Sooooooooo yes today's wi will reflect massive retention, sucks, sucks, sucks, but I have to say the beans where soooooo good. Wish I would have just stuck with those but you know.

I will officially wi in a bit.

02-04-08, 10:03 AM
Ok, yup I messed up, i am retaining 3 lbs of water, 3 freaking lbs. I weighed 147.8 yesterday morning, then screwed up yesterday and today I am 150.6. Ok, enough venting, more action. Finishing my breakfast and going to go and sweat this out. :)

boblin
02-04-08, 10:13 AM
Hope I'm not to late for this. If I am guess i'll get a penalty.

1) Stay within my 1800 calories. Was going to go 1500 i'll take that if I can. But just don't want to many penalty's

2) Up my fluids to ten a day making that 80 oz.

3) Exercise at least 30 min. a day. More is a bonus

4) Record with fit day everyday.

5) come and check and encourage others at least 3 times a week. Reason for not everyday there's no puter at the cottage.

So that should help me on my way.

Good luck all.

Mel
02-04-08, 10:21 AM
Ya know - TWO short weeks ago I was back at my goal weight. Now here I am again at 144.5. I just don't know how I can do that. Well, if I thought about it, part of it could have been the Coldstone ice cream i had last night! But seriously, I don't know how the scale can go up that much! And unfortunately, it never goes down as quick as it goes up. X-( I just need to be more consistent. 8-|

Okay, I'm off to the gym!

Good morning, everyone! I've been reading through everyone's goals and you all sound so motivated! I need to get started and I am hoping this will be just the thing to "boot" me in the bum and get me moving.

My goals are:

1. I don't have an official food plan yet, but for this challenge or until I start a specific plan (which will hopefully be sooner than the end of this challenge), I will not eat after 9pm, I will not eat 2nds of anything and I will eat more veggies and less carbs.
2. Drink 80 ounces of water per day.
3. No more than 1 can of diet soda per day and NOT until I have finished my 80 ounces of water!
4. 15 minutes of exercise 7 days a week.

That should do it for now. Lent starts on Wednesday and I have some additional things for that, but will wait and add those later. Good luck and hard work to us all!!

I'm sorry Cori - I should have stated that you don't HAVE to post your actual weight, you CAN just post how much you want to lose.

The 'Y' by us is open 7am - 9pm, Mon - Fri. They're open 7am - 6pm on Saturday and they're CLOSED on Sunday. And then they close in the evening without much warning for special things, such as they'll schedule the Jr. High kids in there for an evening here and there, things like that.

Everyone has great goals. Lets get motivated. I did a load of laundry, cleaned up the kitchen a bit, did a walk away the lbs video, went over the my friends house to help her move her furniture around a bit. So I have been active. Hubby and I are going to subway for lunch and instead of getting bread I think I might get my sub as a salad, I will see not sure yet.

Cori- are you putting you are losing the whole 60 lbs or are you setting a monthly goal for the challenge. I was just curious.

DJ- I think you have a great eating plan, a eating plan doesnt have to be completely scheduled out. Little changes will help. Good for you.

smallfri
02-04-08, 12:50 PM
I think I am going to set up a weight loss goal also. I lost 4 lbs last month, though I gained 3 of them back this morning, ugg. Sorry, I cant get over that, its not so much disgust as amazement. lol. Although I figured out part of the salt content, and well, yeah, it was crazy high. So I deserved the gain this morning. Anyway I am going to set my goal for 4 lbs again this month.

Actual total will be 7 lbs to account for the water gain.

Mel
02-04-08, 12:58 PM
Okay, well I'm motivated too. I had Fiber One and skim milk for breakfast and then I went to the gym and used the elliptical for 1/2 hr. I have to work in a little while, so I didn't have time for the machines today. I tried a couple of the arm ones, but didn't have time to have the guy come over and show me all of them. They have Precor equipment and I'm not familiar with some of it. So I'll go tomorrow when I'm off. But I have a good start to the day! The elliptical kicks my butt a little harder than walking on the treadmill!

Off to the shower and then to work. Be back later tonight!

Dj
02-04-08, 01:20 PM
Thanks, smallfri.... I will figure things out (food plan) at some point, but for now, this will get me started.

This morning I had 1 cup of Special K in 2% milk for breakfast, white seedless grapes for a morning snack (didn't measure) and am going to have a WW's or South Beach or Lean Cuisine dinner for lunch. I have a start on my water, but haven't exercised yet.

Hope everyone else is having a great day!

I gained 2 pounds over the weekend that took a lot longer then that to lose. My challenge goal is to lose (and keep off) 7 pounds. I am hoping at least some of this current gain is water retention and will easily dropped. Today is my recovery day and my muscles need the time off as I have been pushing hard the three weeks. I am stuck in the hoiuse today with repairmen coming and going- the house is in disorder and I want to eat. Glad this challenge started today- maybe my pride will give me that extra will power. Have a great day everyone.

Goals for February Boot Camp

A. 7 pound fat loss

1. Drink a minimum of 32 oz water a day

Good Morning everyone. Just posted my weigh in - Had a gain from what I was last week. There was a festival this weekend - 3 days and 3 nights of me and hubby visiting different pavillons and sampling their wares in both food and drink.

But today is a new day and I'm off to a new start today and started my day with Steel Cut Oatmeal :)

Every one seems to be having a great first day. Breakfast I had 2 toast with margarine and smart jam. Then lunch i had a banana while lunch was cooking. I made a big pan of steamed cabbage celery onion and chicken. Added a bit of soya and some spice. Was good. Now to figure how to get that in fit day. LOL.
I walked 14 rounds around the rink and did 1 hour of muscle stretch and walk in the pool. So a good 90 min. of exercise.

I lost 260 lbs in one day and it was all A*S - my EX husband lol ;)

Okay, a couple of notes on the first day. Mugwump signed up for the challenge, but when I sent out the PM's to remind people, she replied that she changed her mind and didn't want to participate. Calmeida2 signed up, but I haven't heard anything one way or another, so obviously since she made no goals or anything, she's not participating either.

Cori - I know you asked me if you could post an amount you want to lose rather than what you actually weigh and I said that was fine. And you did. But you did it here, so you don't have a post on the 'weigh-in thread'. Could you do that please?

First Step - I don't see a weigh-in for you either. If you weighed this morning, please post it.

Catnas pm'd me this morning and she had a scale problem this morning (the battery was dead) so since she wants to weigh first thing in the morning rather than after she ate, she'll post her weight in the morning.

That seems to be all for now - looks like everyone survived the first day rather well!

Oh goody, we're all caught up with the weigh-ins and stuff. There are 13 of us officially in the challenge. Everyone seems off to a great start.

I'm off to a good start today. My cousin wanted me to go out for breakfast, so I had a veggie omelet w/eggbeaters and wheat toast. Hold the potatoes. Black coffee. Afterwards we ran to PetSmart for some things, so that means I didn't get to the gym early. I think as soon as I get some laundry going here, I'll change and go. I know if I wait too long I'll talk myself out of it. And it would be easy to do since I'm not comfortable there yet. I always hate going to a new place at first. But I'm sure I'll end up liking it. When I was there yesterday, I felt kind of old. There weren't that many people there, but I was the oldest. I know I shouldn't let that intimidate me, but I do. Oh well, I'd better quit talking about it and just go. 8-|

I'm having a good day. I am hopefully done eating and I ended up with 925 calories and 38 gms. of fiber. I drank about 115 oz. of water (and countless trips to the bathroom) but I didn't get to the gym today, so this was one of my days off. Still in all, a decent day.

Good Morning

It looks like everyone is off to a good start. Day 2 was a good day! There was a couple of times I was tempted to snack for no reason except it was there. But then I would have had to put it in my food juournal and I didn't want to do that. I hate going to new gyms at first. Especially, they are always on military bases and all those young studs are working out. I feel so old then! But I evenually get over it and enjoy myself.

1. Keep my calories under 1600 except on Fridays when they will be under 1800. ~ 1317
2. Record my eating and exercise on Fitday daily. ~ Done
3. Exercise 6 days at least 30 minutes. ~ 2/6
4. Drink a minimum of 88 oz water a day. ~ Done
5. Take my vitamins/calcium supplement daily. ~ Done

This morning I'm meeting with the personal trainer and hopefully getting my program. We shall see.

Have a great day!

Good morning

So yesterday was a so so day.

Food I didn't get to fit day to chart it yet but I will.
Water I'm missing 2 cups I was short
Exercise 6 games of bowling. Almost said none but guess that counts as something.
So today I need to have a good day in the food department. Because again I will add it all up at end of the week to see that i'm below or around the 1500 calorie range.

Good luck to all and we should all come out of this losers.

Ok, so yesterday, I dont know what happened. I went nuts so to speak in a not so good way and yeah, day two and I already have to take a penality. So I also started my penality yesterday and will continue to do my penality for today and tomorrow. I did the first two penalities. Yesterday I did some sort of movement for oh about 6 hours yesterday, and I also drank two jugs of water. Plan on doing that today because well I my children have no school because of the snow so I can keep moving more. I will not do the posting of what I ate though.

Hello all.
Did okay with food yesterday. For whatever reason, I was just really hungry all day yesterday. But, I did just fine.
I worked out 25 minutes on the bike (9 miles), 15 minutes on the treadmill (1.4 miles) and 1 circuit of weights.
Funny little story. I cut up pineapple last night (that should be considered exercise!!!!). I took a small bowl of pineapple. I couldn't finish! I was too full to even eat the last bite! I was quite amazed!!!
And, today was my official weigh-in day: 254.6. Woohoo.

Mel

2) Up my fluids to ten a day making that 80 oz.

Water I'm missing 2 cups I was short

So Boblin ....... which penalty are you going to take?? It should be started today. They are listed in my first post on this thread and you'r free to pick whichever you want. And you need to report on your penalty each day.

I agree! I live in NW Indiana - Crown Point to be exact. It's about 20 min. from the IN/IL border. I'm so sick of snow I can't see straight! We're waiting for the snow to start again this afternoon - they're calling for 6 - 8 inches by tomorrow sometime. It's been raining and it's just now starting to turn to sleet as the temps fall. It'll be snow soon. X-(

I went to the gym this morning and then to the grocery store. Decided to get both done early since the snow is expected. I hope just to stay home the rest of the day. I have plenty to do, so that should be okay.

I'll get back to report my day later.

Day 3 is looking good for everyone!

I ended up with 950 calories and 31 gms. of fiber. I consider this a victory since my daughter and I ended up going to Applebee's for lunch. I had the Confetti Chicken, which I love. I didn't eat any of my daughter's fries or dessert. :dc I went to the gym this morning and did some upper body work for about 15 minutes (I have to learn some of the other machines) and did the elliptical for 30 min. I also went grocery shopping and stocked up on some good stuff. Oh, I also drank 120 oz. of water. I was just reminded of that as I had to stop typing to use the bathroom, lol. I'm sitting here sipping on a diet hot chocolate and I think I'll take a warm bath.

Stay strong :mus: and have a great day tomorrow!

I'm changing my calorie total for today - 1160. I had two hard-boiled eggs that I forgot to count!

We don't ever get snow here. There is snow on the mountains that ring Naples but we don't actually get it. We just get rain. And more rain. It is nice to look at the snow covered mountains without actually having it.

Another good day. I'm considering this a major victory, cause I really wanted to eat all day. Not that I was hungry, I just wanted to eat. Plus my morning got changed around from what I was planning. So I didn't get to the gym till the early afternoon, but I did go. I've been stressing most of the afternoon and evening, so I'm really happy I didn't eat. I ended up with 946 calories and 40! gms. of fiber. 120 oz. of liquid. I brought one of my walking tapes to the gym and walked on the treadmill for 45 min. It was one of my faster tapes and I was really sweating when I was done.

Now I have to ask a favor. My oldest grandson Cody is going to court tomorrow. His mother is filing for custody of him - and heaven help me for saying this - I'm hoping she wins. Those of you that know his story, know that this is tough for me to say. But Cody has been having some really tough times at his father's and needs to leave. His grandparents (his mom's mom & stepdad) got emergency custody of him this past week till the court hearing tomorrow, as Cody ran away last weekend. I'm telling you this in hopes that you'll keep him in your thoughts and prayers tomorrow. He's a wonderful kid who's really had a tough time in life. I talked to him for almost 2 hours tonight. I really wish our house was an option for him at this point, but unfortunately, it's not. My stomach is in a knot at this point and I've had a headache all evening. It's hard to know what to wish for this kid. I just want him to be happy AND safe.

I guess I'll stop venting now and take a bath. I doubt that I'll sleep much.

1. Stay 'on plan' 7 days per week. By 'on plan' I mean that I follow WW's, but I still look at my calorie count on Fitday. 4/7

2. Exercise 4 days per week. That will put me about every other day. If I exercise more, that will be a bonus. 3/7

3. Drink a minimum of 80 oz. per day, at least 40 oz. being water. 4/7

4. Consume a minimum of 20 grams of fiber per day. 4/7

5. Track my food everyday at Fitday. 4/7

Thanks Cori - in MY mind our house IS an option for him, but not in the minds of the court. Another household isn't an option when both parents say they want him (only so that the other can't have him) Neither place is a good option for him. X-( If he had his choice, I know he'd pick moving back with my son. Oh well, we'll see what the court decides in a few minutes. It should be starting right about now. Thanks for the kind words, Cori - you're a great friend! Your support means a lot.

I don't think I'm gonna head for the gym this morning, I think I'll go right after lunch. My sil wants to go to lunch and we'll probably head for Subway. I'll be back later to report on how I did.

Beth - sorry you're out of the challenge, feel free to continue posting. Sometimes joining a challenge is a sure-fire way to blow it, lol.

Madame Butterfly - I'm sorry you're out, too! I know how that feels..

I flunked out of this challenge twice before, I believe. I have the added bonus of a) in a challenge with my middle daughter Hope to run a 5K (called the Run for Hope.. but not about her) and I have to start training.. and to see all these other people running on another site and not wanting to be left out.. It's made it easier.

But! Since I stepped up my workouts BIG time this week.. my scale is being a bastard!

Mel - Have you spoke to Bobbi about it? I didn't realize his father's place wasn't a positive place.. it must be bad if Bobbi is the step up! How old is Cody? Why can't he decide for himself? Yeesh! With what he's been through, I bet he has a lot of healing to do.

I did a step class today.. but since I stepped up the working out, I haven't slept much.. it always happens.. so today I dragged in my class.. Oh well.. one day, I will sleep!

My plans were to go today, but my DH and I took a day off. We went to go to the movies and then out for lunch.
Tomorrow morning my butt will be in the gym. Then home to clean for a Tastefully Simple party on Sunday.

I'm finally home. I got a call this afternoon from my oldest son - could I possibly have the twins this weekend??? Of course! I'm off this weekend. They were suppose to go to Chicago with their mother and she was suppose to pick them up after court and she cancelled taking the twins home with her. I guess she thought she would be taking all three boys home with her, Cody, Alex & Christian. And she wasnt' a happy camper! She DIDN'T get custody of Cody. But then neither did his dad! Believe it or not, they gave temporary custody (for at least 90 days) to his grandparents! Yippee! Best place for him at this point. He'll have to change schools, but that's okay. The judge said Cody didn't seem really sure about where he wanted to be and since he was in trouble several months ago, she thought it best and safest to send him to his grandparents. They were required to be there also, since that's where Cody had requested to go after he ran away. They've had him all week. They will re-evaluate things after 90 days. Also, he has to go to his dad's every other weekend. I'm not so sure of the wisdom of that since that's where he ran FROM, but we'll see how that works out. I'm actually rather relieved that it worked out this way for now. I guess my ex-daughter-in-law didn't think that they'd think anything of the fact that she abandoned all three boys and moved 2 states away! But I guess they did, lol. Well, it's been a long day and I'm tired. I have two little boys sleeping on my living room floor - I'm gonna join them. We're camping out, lol.

Ok, finished my penalities. And I have been tracking my points again. I did go over my points but I am tracking them. So that is a good thing. I did get my exercise in for the week, thank goodness. And I have been drinking water like crazy, which is also good. Its a bit harder at work, so I am trying to finish as much as I can at work and then just finish when I get home.

Butterfly, sorry you are out. I know how tough that is. I thought I would be out on day two myself but I think I saved myself. So I am getting back on track.

Mel-great to hear everything worked out ok. That it worked out best for Cody. That is wonderful news.

As for myself. I got wonderful news. I got a new job. Unfortunately I have to still stay at my other job. Which is ok. Its not that I dont love my job. Of course there are moments but if anyone has the perfect job with no moments let me know cuz I would be curious about that. Anyway, I am working with autism children. Its a great program. They only start you with one child at a time because if it doesnt work out then they dont want to have to try to find replacements for several children. Which makes sense. So I am making just ten cents less and when my 90 days is up I will be making twenty sense more. And my current boss is aware of the situation and she is great with it. She knew that I wouldnt be there forever because of my degree and she now knows with the company change there is no where for me to go in the company. Something might come up she said but at this point it doesnt look good. AT least she is honest. So as I gain more hours with the autism place I will take away more hours with the elderly. Which I like better because it will be a gradual change for them also. They also know I am one who wont be there forever because of my degree. Its like I have 60 grandma and grandpa's. lol. Its kinda funny how that works. Have a great weekend. I packed an awesome lunch, with may higher fiber foods. I am going to make it work I have no choice because well, yes I counted all my points yesterday but I am now negative. Soooo, I have to get back on track. If being negative kicks me out of the boot camp let me know. I will drop out for this month but stay in as side boot camp because now that i have this new job. I need some new clothes. So I have until March 6th so get something going.
I refuse to go and buy a size 14 pants. It aint happening.

lol - you don't remember my opinion of them, cause I don't have much of one. I've never met her mom. I hear she's a real 'different' woman, I won't go into specifics. Her current (4th) husband I've met. They've been married for like 20 years. I like him. I've met him several times before and he takes a great interest in Cody. He does a lot of things with him. So therefore, Cody should be fine there for a while. It wouldn't be a permanent place for him (for several reasons) but it's a good temporary solution.

I did good with my food and stuff yesterday. It was a hectic day, as all plans changed so quickly. But it worked out anyhow. I'll be back later to update my chart for yesterday and today.

Okay, I barely got by the last 2 days, but I have. The easiest thing, of course, has been tracking everything at Fitday. I'm glad to almost have the first week done!

1. Stay 'on plan' 7 days per week. By 'on plan' I mean that I follow WW's, but I still look at my calorie count on Fitday. 6/7

2. Exercise 4 days per week. That will put me about every other day. If I exercise more, that will be a bonus. 4/7

3. Drink a minimum of 80 oz. per day, at least 40 oz. being water. 6/7

4. Consume a minimum of 20 grams of fiber per day. 6/7

5. Track my food everyday at Fitday. 6/7

I just want to remind everyone of this in advance, especially since everyone doesn't come here every day. You have to post a weigh-in on Monday. It can be anytime on Monday, doesn't matter. I will post everyone's results on Tuesday. Or even late Monday if everyone posts early enough. Just thought I'd put that reminder out there. :)

Thanks for all the good thought and prayers for the situation with Cody. I feel so much better about how things have turned out for now. Hope everyone has a nice relaxing Sunday!

Thank GOD my goal was never to run twice per week in this bootcamp. I taught one class yesterday and then had to ask everyone to leave. I had the worst migraine that I have had in YEARS. I taught the first class and then after about 10 minutes of dry heaving in the bathroom, decided everyone needed to leave and I needed to go to bed. OY!

ok, it's FREEZING here - I need to go to bed now.

I used to walk 5 miles EVERY day without fail. It was automatic. I wish I could get back to that. I need to get up earlier and do it first thing. But I just can't get into that frame of mind.

I'm gonna have to play things by ear tomorrow - my grandsons are still here. They were suppose to go home this afternoon, but the weather prevented my son from coming to get them. Poor grandma, has to keep them another day! They'll miss school tomorrow, but they're 8 yrs. old - they're thrilled, lol. I'm either going to take them home tomorrow or meet their other grandma 1/2 way. So we'll have to see how things play out. We've been 'camping out' in the living room while they're here, so I'm kind of out of my morning ritual. So I HAVE to remember to run upstairs first thing to weigh myself. Heaven forbid I forget!

Talk to everyone in the morning. :)

Holding myself accountable here! I had soda this weekend. I tried the new Diet Chocolate cherry Dr. Pepper stuff. Wow, it was good! However, one of my goals said no soda. So, I will drink the additional water for 3 days.
I can say that I had to buy soda for a Tastefully Simple party I had over the weekend. Well, one of the soda bottles wasn't opened, so I gave it to a friend to take home. Same with some of the leftovers. So, now all I have are a few dips that I am bringing to my Mom's, 1/4 loaf of beer bread, and some veggies.
And, my weight is 253.2 pounds.

Glad you kept your goals the same cori - cause you can't change them, lol. That's why I told people to think about their goals before they posted them, cause they're for the entire 3 weeks of camp. :D

Okay, we've had a few people drop, but everyone that's still in has lost! :cheer: We haven't heard from a few people in a while, so if we don't hear from them today, I'll assume they're done. I read in Boblin's journal that she was thinking about dropping but she hasn't dropped officially. We'll see.

I just got home from Michigan - I met the boy's other grandma 1/2 way. So that was helpful that I didn't have to go the whole way. Then I find out when I got home that the 'girl's night out' that was scheduled with some friends is TONIGHT instead of tomorrow night like I thought. We're going to a mexican place, so I'm gonna have to be very careful what I order. I may be using some of my weekly flex points today! :D

I'll be back later on.

Hi

Day 5

1. Keep my calories under 1600 except on Fridays when they will be under 1800. ~done
2. Record my eating and exercise on Fitday daily. ~ Done
3. Exercise 6 days at least 30 minutes. ~ 4/6 took a rest day
4. Drink a minimum of 88 oz water a day. ~ Done
5. Take my vitamins/calcium supplement daily. ~ Done

Dinner made me sick. We ate at a cute Italian restaurant. Had fresh pasta with fresh seafood and some antipasta. It was all loaded with salt. I did manage to stay within my calories because I went easy on the food early in the day. Didn't have any bread or wine with dinner to cut down on the calories. Took the day off from exercise because I spent the whole morning at the hospital with my son and then went grocery shopping and ran errands.

Day 6
1. Keep my calories under 1600 except on Fridays when they will be under 1800. ~ done
2. Record my eating and exercise on Fitday daily. ~ Done
3. Exercise 6 days at least 30 minutes. ~ 5/6
4. Drink a minimum of 88 oz water a day. ~ Done
5. Take my vitamins/calcium supplement daily. ~ Done

Drank extra water and did a good workout trying to offset some of the sodium still in my systems. Besides the workout, I took it easy.

Day 7
1. Keep my calories under 1600 except on Fridays when they will be under 1800. ~ Done
2. Record my eating and exercise on Fitday daily. ~ Done
3. Exercise 6 days at least 30 minutes. ~ 6/6
4. Drink a minimum of 88 oz water a day. ~ Done
5. Take my vitamins/calcium supplement daily. ~ Done

Went to the gym early in the day and then got a good walk in. Drank alot of water because I was running around so much.

I managed to meet all of my goals for the week and it paid off. I lost some weight for the week.

have a great day!

I was a little disappointed with my weight loss this week, but when I really thought about it while I was driving today, I guess it's my own fault. I did great with my food earlier in the week and then I just 'got by' the last 3 days. Also, I did the bare minimum for exercise - again, my own fault. I should have set my goal higher to begin with, cause saying four days just kind of lets myself off the hook for the other three. And right now I really need that push in the exercise department. I have numerous occasions coming up that I want to look good for. Now suddenly, I realize how close they are! We have baby showers in March and April, but those I don't really care if I look great for those or not, lol. But in May, there should be a bridal shower given for my daughter by her future inlaws and I'd at least like to be back at my goal weight by then. And in June, my sisters will be giving my daughter a bridal shower. Then in August, of course is her wedding. I know I'm not THAT far from my goal weight, but part of it is mental. I FEEL like I look so much better at my goal weight. Plus, I need to be trying on dresses for the wedding. I've got to get my butt in gear!

Jeanette - sorry that you're out. Hope you keep posting! Boot Camp is a tough one, isn't it? Hang in there, girlfriend!

Mel

Okay, I'm taking a penalty. X-( :o I went out with the girls last night and those darn chips and salsa - they were sooo good. My entree was only so-so, but the chips were really, really good. So I'm gonna take the water penalty and it will start today.

I posted the weigh-in results on the other thread. We did good - collectively we lost 16.3 lbs. between the 7 of us that are left.

15 people originally signed up for camp. One dropped out before it started and another one failed to ever show up or post goals. So that brought is down to 13. Two more participated and then had to drop during the week. Down to 11. Four other people started, participated at first and then went AWOL. They didn't post a weight yesterday so they're done. I wish they would have let us know that they weren't returning, but 'oh well'. :sigh: That brings us down to seven. And we're pumped! :mus: We're gonna kick butt this week, aren't we???

And with that said - I'm hauling my butt off to the gym!

Oh thanks for reminding me of this, Cathy! I forgot to mention it in my previous post. I put our individual weight losses for the week on the weigh-in thread. I put the total here, but forgot to mention that I posted the rest of it over there. 8-|

FirstStep
02-12-08, 07:08 PM
1. Drink a minimum of 32 oz water a day 2/7
2. Keep my calorie count 1150 –1350 a day of healthy well-balanced choices. 2/7
3. Record my food intake and exercise on FD daily -2/7
4. Exercise 4 + days a week for 45 minutes or more - 1/7
5. Stay positive and on task regardless of the temperament of the scale for the duration. 2/7 though I would have liked a bigger loss last week.

Looks like it was a good week for all of us. This one is starting out harder to meet the goals and not go outside my calorie limits- I am craving everything!

Mel
02-12-08, 11:48 PM
Okay, another day done.

1. Stay 'on plan' 7 days per week. By 'on plan' I mean that I follow WW's, but I still look at my calorie count on Fitday. 1/7

2. Exercise 4 days per week. That will put me about every other day. If I exercise more, that will be a bonus. 2/7

3. Drink a minimum of 80 oz. per day, at least 40 oz. being water. 2/7

4. Consume a minimum of 20 grams of fiber per day. 2/7

5. Track my food everyday at Fitday. 2/7

As far as my penalty goes, I think I'm gonna drown. I had 120 oz. to drink today. That's a lot. I drink that amount occasionally, but when you HAVE to, it somehow seems like more, lol. So that's Day 1 of my penalty.

I had 1190 calories today and 47 gms. of fiber. I was rather surprised by the 47 gms. I had SBD Southwestern wraps for dinner and I forgot how many gms of fiber they had! I used to eat these all the time. I forgot how much I liked them! And I also had Fiber One cereal today, so that explains the high total. Good thing I drank so much today, huh?

Well, that's about it for today. Stay strong!

I hope you all kick butt!!!!!

I have managed to stay on track. I am having no problems with my eating plan, the calories, the fibre, recording in fit day.
I need to step up my exercise. I managed to just get in my 4 days last week and due to the weather and company (which I will have all week), I am again struggling this week. I have got in 1 day and need to fit in 3 more.

I have Tops tonight, although it will likely be cancelled, as we are in the midzt of another Blizzard. This is the third one this month. I don't think we had any for the past few years, so this is a shock to our system. LOL

OK - got my exercise in today. Shoveling snow for 40 min.
That makes 2 days with 2 left to go :)

I did have a Small piece of pie with supper, but I was still within my calorie range. Put everything in fit day and got in my fibre.

They did not cancel Tops tonight, but I did not go as we needed to get the snow shoveled before everyone got home from work.

I had 1085 calories today and 22 gms. of fiber. I worked tonight, so before work I only had breakfast logged at Fitday. Just a little bit ago, I logged the rest of my day. And when I saw what I had eaten, I had to hold my breath when I went to 'Reports' to see how much fiber I had, cause I wasn't sure it was enough. But I did scrape by. I'm finishing the last of my water now, so Day 2 of my penalty is done. I'll be up all night peeing, but I worked with my boss tonight, so no keeping water at the cashwrap, lol. Other than that, all is good.

I have a 7am appt. at the gynecologist in the morning, then I'm off to the gym. Then I work 1 - Close tomorrow, so I won't be around much. Hope everyone has a great day!

Crap, I'm out. My boss got all these bite-sized cookies from Mrs. Field's and we ate them all day. I thought I'd just take one - of course that led to one more and more and more. :o I don't feel good tonight. The day started out so well, lol. My husband and i walked at the mall and I figured it would be an easy weekend diet-wise, cause it's my weekend to cover the store. Usually I'm too busy to eat very much. We don't normally have food at the store. What a bummer. Sorry guys - I'll still be around to keep track of things and just for my own purposes, I'm still gonna post. Hi

I'm still in. I just barely got in my 6 days of exercise. Yesterday turned bitter cold and I didn't want to do anything but I did go to the gym. The same with today. I'm struggling with my water today because I'm so cold. It hasn't gotten out of the 30's with a wind chill in the 20's. I think it wouldn't be so bad if the wind wasn't blowing. Do good with my eating and fitday and am taking my vitmains.

I am sorry to read that we have had three people out this weekend if I am reading correctly. Please keep posting and sign up for the next one if we have one.

Mel- glad you are sticking around to keep track of everything. Who is left? I am still in the running, though it was really hard at the start of the week to keep within my calorie range. Due to some unfortuante and unwise food choices I was very hungry the second half of two days in order to stay in the challenge. Learned some valuable lessons from that.

1. Drink a minimum of 32 oz water a day 7/7
2. Keep my calorie count 1150 –1350 a day of healthy well-balanced choices. 6/7 Doing ok today.
3. Record my food intake and exercise on FD daily-6/7
4. Exercise 4 + days a week for 45 minutes or more - 5/7 Gym yesterday, walk today
5. Stay positive and on task regardless of the temperament of the scale for the duration.

Hi

Wendy, sorry you are out!

Cathy, too bad about the monitor. I had that happen last year. I got lucky and was able to pick one up on sale.

FirstStep - you are doing a great job!

I had no loss but then I don't always have one anyways. Since I've been working out with weights so I'm building muscle. Hopefully, next time I do measurements they will be smaller. Staying on plan. Went to the gym today even though it was a holiday and I could have easily slept in:) I went ahead and got a locker and the gym. I figured since I'm paying for the locker I may as well go to the gym. They have a sauna and I'm going to start using it after my workout in hopes it will prevent some of the achiness.

Have a great day!

Mel

Well, things are going a little better. Sunday was decent with the food, but no exercise since I worked all day. Monday was good all the way around. I ate very well and walked on the treadmill at the gym for an hour. I'm hoping to do that again today in a little while. I'm going shopping for a couple of baby showers later on today with my cousin and then we're going out to dinner. I hope Applebee's sounds good to her cause I like to eat from their WW's menu. They have some good stuff on there!

Well, I'd better get moving, time's a wastin!

I'm out. I had a killer headache yesterday. I didn't do anything except walk to the hospital and grocery store.

1. Calories under 1500 ~ clueless, although I was too sick to eat much
2. Record eating in fitday ~ no
3. exercise 6 days ~ not going to happen this week
4. Drink 88 oz water ~ nope
5. Take multivitamin daily ~ nope

The headache is still lingering. I'm taking something for it and heading out to class at the gym. Have no choice. Have to weigh in today. Not allowed to miss any weigh ins at the gym for the battle of the bulge. Afterwards, I may go back to bed.

Anyways, I will still post and see how everyone is doing.

Oh my goodness, we're dropping like flies. :O There must be something 'in the air' the last week, lol. And that 'air' made it all the way over to Italy! That only leaves FirstStep and Catnas. Sooo.........what do we think about starting another BootCamp next Monday?

I was planning to drive about an hour this morning to a couple of places in Illinois to try on dresses for my daughter's wedding. But we woke up to more snow and icy roads and they're calling for more lake effect snow throughout the day. So I guess I'm not going. :( There is one place around here that I might venture out to. And the plan is to stop at the gym on my way home.

Jeanette and Renee - hope you're both feeling better today!

Hi even though i'm not in the boot camp I wanted to share with you that I lost 3 lbs this last week. so boot camp was a help to me. Thank you for having it. I'm ready to start on Monday but I won't set my goals for things I can't achieve. Good luck to the two remaining gals.

Oh wow - I wasn't remembering that the new one would start THIS Monday! I guess I'd better get crackin on that. I'll try to get a new sign-up sheet up today. And either today or Friday, I'll get the new thread going so we can post goals. What do you guys think about making the next BootCamp a 2 week thing? Or do you think 3 weeks is better? How about some feedback on that? Also, any other suggestions of things you'd like to change?

I did go shopping yesterday, but I didn't go to Illinois like I had originally planned. But I'm so glad I didn't, cause I found a dress I absolutely LOVE around here! It fits me soooo good and looks great! The nice thing is that I don't have to lose any weight for it to look great! It flatters me well and the only alterations it needs is to be taken in a little in the chest (that's a first!) and it needs to be shortened. So I put down a deposit on it and I need to go in June to have the alterations done. It comes with a little bolero jacket that I'll wear for the ceremony. I'm so excited - I LOVE the dress!

Well, if any one is interested in trying again, I'm going to start a new sign-up thread right now. You don't need to post your goals there, just your intend to join. FirstStep, you can do it! Only a couple more days!

I'm still having headaches but know what the problem is. The weather has been up and down. The pressure changes gives me horrible headaches. I've got another one today that 800 mg of motrin hasn't touched. Of course, it doesn't help that there is no Diet Cokes to be found on base. The commissary and exchange are out, have been all week. And off base all they sell is coke lite and that is disgusting:-&

Anyways, have a great weekend and I will see everyone on Monday for the new Bootcamp:)
