Welcome back, we missed you! When i ran into yellow awhile back he said he was having surgery, how is he doing?
bring us up to date with you.....
Thanks for your welcome Judith! I've missed talking to you!
Yellow hasn't had his surgery yet....I believe he's hoping for sometime this Spring. I don't remember what I weighed when I came here before, but I can guarantee I'm heavier. I can't dwell on the number, I have to just do the best I can and let the pounds fall where they may! Hubby and I have been taking at least one nice vacation each year....sometimes a cruise, sometimes something different. This year is Hawaii in May and I'm desperate to get some of this weight off! I've rejoined a gym and try to go at least 3 times a week. I also have a treadmill at home to use until the weather breaks here in the NorthEast. I lost my Mother In Law(my best friend) in 2005, Jack(hubby) had a serious illness in 2006 and I lost my Mother in 2007. The last few years have had their stressful times for sure! My health is good except for being diagnosed with Hypothyroidism in December. I was hoping being on meds would help with the weight loss, but not so far :( I'm joining a weight loss group at our local hospital called Choose to Lose. It starts next Wednesday. I'm hoping it gives me the jump start I need. If I still can't lose even following that plan, I'm going to go see an endocrinlogist to make sure I don't have any other hormonal or other things out of whack! I went thru early menopause so who knows!? Well......you asked....there's my life in a nutshell! LOL! Look forward to talking to everyone!

So good to hear from. We have been through alot with some of the kids the last few years. I still walk daily, and try to eat healthy but as i said before i was 58 this year and some pounds have crept on, it gets harder every few years to maintain. Sadly my appetite never decreases, i hear talk that theirs have, i keep waiting for that LOL
We hope to start remodeling our home sometime this year( if Bob keeps wanting to travel like he does, i don't know) start with two of the three bathrooms, then kitchen, laundry room, dining room, then carpet, then eventually add a sunroom and lastly redo the master bath, big undertaking i know, but we are doing it as we can, we are paying cash as w e go. We paid off our home last fall, no debt at all, sounds so good to say that LOL we had many years i couldn't have said it... i am looking forward and dreading it at the same time. I very much am a homebody, and me and my two cats will not adapt well to the workers and all the noise. Anyway, it might be awhile before it gets started, my house looks outdated and the carpets( we have lived here 15 yrs) have not been changed since we moved in. should i be ashamed to say that LOL
I went home( Calif) in 06, visited my sister, went uo to Yosemite and visited my friend( the one that is now sick) this was before she found out she was ill, she was actually having symtoms then. You have to make so many touchdowns now, no straight flights. it is such a long day. After we arrive back in Atlanta it is a 2 1/2 hr drive home.
Pam lives in Tacoma, Rudy is stationed there. She is out of the Army now and is in Culinary school.
Josh got married Jan. 5, they struggle financially, we help out now and then. He loves her like crazy, i hope it works out..
Eric is in Va. gets out of the Navy i think in late fall, gets his Masters( i said this before, sorry) in June. Hasn't settled down, i don't know if he can, very antsy person, it really might be best if he doesn't, it might not be fair to the other person.
So sorry about the thyroid, i don't know how long it takes for that to improve, did they give you a time span? Keep me posted. Do you still talk with can, don't remember her real name.
I have a new cat, persian( my family cat died after 15 yrs) his name is Puddin and the love of my life LOL my other cat is Bojangles i had him before.
I think the support group will be great, i belonged to a hospital group when i first made the major changes in my life in '96. a couple yrs ago i joined the WW group in town, but a yr ago i left it, i should go back, i got tired of the leader, but i have had a long enough break from her, i can take a rah-rah person just so long LOL she just needs to tone it down a bit for me, the others tolerate her fine, must be me!!!
I do need the accountability, i am competitive enough that having to check in works for me.
Pam and Rudy went to Hawaii on their r&r when they were in Iraq, they loved it, how you go back to Iraq after being there i do not know.

hi Lojo. I have hypothyroidism now. I was hyperthyroid and took Radioactive iodine in 1995 to destroy my thyroid over activity. I went from one extreme to another. If you need to know anything about thyroid just ask me okay. I will do my best to answer.
Im on synthroid .175 mcgs. once a day. It take time to get back to normal levels.
Hope all goes well for you. Hugs
