I think I've been out of Diettalk for 4 years! Am back again .. after my recent loss of my dearest hubby who lost his battle to lung cancer. We were extremely happily married for 9 years. I did get the big pix at the end - realising why we couldnt have kids and accepting the fact that my dearest hubby had to leave so early. Let's just say, the strength given by God was amazing and I was able to pull thru the whole journey w/o having a breakdown. Now I wonder, what's next for me??

Anyway, I'm back here to lose another few pounds and basically vent my frustrations of my daily life to the supportive readers here. I lost 15 lbs during hubby's last few months.

Oh Chinadoll, I have missed you and thought of you often.........I am so sorry about your DH. I know no words can express the sorrow or help with the pain but just know that you are not alone and I pray the arms of Jesus will surround you each day and feel you with his peace and help you in your everyday life. Know that you are in my prayers and I'm sending hugs your way. Please continue to come here.......I've missed you my friend and wondered about you for a long time.

Hi Everyone,

Thank you all for your heartfelt words. I am truly touched!

Well, it's been a month since I last post. Nothing has changed -> diet-wise / exercise-wise. No movement in any weight loss ... sigh! I think sometimes I eat 'cos I dun want to waste my food or I havent eaten anything since ? hours ago. I really dun have to eat but I did anyway, hence I could have lost some weight. Got to be more determined!

Not feeling my best today - mood is low. Hope to return in a better mood next post.

Hi ChinaDoll, thanks for visiting us again and sharing your mood.
Hang in there!
Just so you know, I once thought my life was over when I got divorced at 38, even if everyone was telling me I was young and it was not too late to start over. But they were right: I met my new husband 4 months before I turned 40 and I had my first child at 42.
Hope that helps a little.

Hi China.. :rose: It is understandable that you are having difficulty exercising, dieting etc... Time is a great healer..
Just allow yourself that time to grieve etc.. and who knows what any of our future holds for us.. so one day at a time is a good way to go :rose:

Hi China,

I agree with Lulu. One day at a time is good advice and each day will be a bit easier. Healing is a long time project. Take care of your health.

Hi Everyone,

I finally got the treadmill out, cleaned it and started using it last nite. For now, I'm still doing the brisk walk but hopefully someday, I'll be running on it.

Still feeling lousy despite filling my days with activities. But the good news is that I lost a bit and I'm officially back to average weight. Gosh, it's been 12 years since I had this weight. Scary what a happy marriage can do to me!

Sigh ...

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. You have had a very difficult time. I am happy to see you back. It is hard to realize that it has been 4 years since you were posting.
I hope you start to feel better but this is likely the way your body is dealing with grief.

Hi Aria - tks for dropping by.

I know, I'm terrible. I hardly logged in here.

There's not much to report. I just havent been eating a lot lately, really restricting my food intake. Hope to use the treadmill this weekend.

Hi ChinaDoll, so nice to hear from you!

It's ok to be a little hungry, but don't you go starving, now! In this box (make it the size you want), you will find some of your favorite healthy foods... :gift:

Good idea to use your treadmill this weekend. I wish I had a treadmill...just not enough space. :( I really have to up the outside walking.

Hope you have an interesting week-end! :rose:

Hi Aria,

Thanks for always dropping by to say hi! I really appreciate your concern and hope you are doing well!

Finally, I'm at 117, it's an ideal weight for me tho it's never good enough (being a typical woman!). How I got to this weight was a series of events:
- I've been having a stressful time dealing with stuff that's giving my stomach butterflies (not good) and loss of appetite.
- recurrence of hyperthyroid and the doctor is currently trying to adjust the right dosage.

I am trying to maintain the weight now ... it won't be easy once I come out of this phase. Sigh .....

Hi Chinadoll,

Good to see you back! I missed the post originally when you came back in February. My dh was in the hospital and I wasn't on DT very much over the winter, spring and summer. But I'm back to stay and hope to see you here more.

Take Care of yourself!

Hi ChinaDoll and thanks for posting in my journal!
Wow, here you are at 117 lbs!
I did not realize you had to take medication for a medical condition, hope that gets stabilized soon.
So good to see you back, I hope you stick around, lol.
Have a great day!
