View Full Version : Four Months to Change Crazy2
Four Months to Change Crazy2
This journal will take me from now, last week in April to Labour Day at the beginning of September. I am going to kick things up a notch. I have been doing ok but feel I need to step it up a bit more and the next 4 months are the best time weather-wise to do it here. That last big snow is mostly gone and things are drying up, temps are getting nice again and I need to do this for my physical, mental and emotional well-being.
Exercise -
I will be walking alot this summer. I have a 'small' route that I walk when I don't have alot of time or energy. It is 3.3km and takes me around 30-33 minutes. For those who work in miles that is a 4 mile/hour pace. Anyways, if I walk 5 times a week and just do that route it would be 16.5 km but I want to do a bit more. So my goal is going to be 20 km per week. Will have to have about 2 of the 5 walks as longer walks to reach that goal. Very doable but I haven't done it in the past so still a challenge.
This journal is supposed to cover about 4 months or 18 weeks. So my km goal for walking will be 360 km.
Weight -
Ok, this morning I weighed in at 273, up a bit from where I have been so hope it comes of again quickly. I did eat way too much last night. It was like I was obsessed or something, it was horrible. I was the only one in the house going back and forth to the kitchen all night!!! They should have just gotten out a bat and hit me everytime I headed there. Anyways, if I lost 2 pounds a week for 18 weeks that would put me at 36 pounds gone. Now I know that this is an extremely lofty goal for me, just because of my weight-loss history, but people do it right, lol. So I am going to keep that as my weight-loss goal. That will have me at 237 by Labour Day.
Food -
I have been working at keeping calories below 1600 and am going to keep this goal. I think it is right where I should be, at least for now(this weight with my height). I have been slipping a bit so want to have it be more consistent. I also want to increase my fruit and veggie intake.
Other Stuff -
My other goal is to pretty well eliminate Diet Coke from my diet. My goal is to have no more than 1 small bottle 1-2 times a month. Maybe just for going out for coffee with friends. I am not a coffee drinker but definitely am a diet coke drinker. Now I need to wean myself off or the major headaches come so will start working on that this week. Hope to have this on track by the end of May.
I want this all to become a lifestyle change so I am going to try to not allow myself to make excuses. So when things go crazy in my life that is not a license to eat like a crazy woman or to skip that days walk. In fact I want it to become an even bigger reason to take care of myself, to make wise choices.
Well, wow, that is a long one, lol. Lofty goals for me, but I really do want to change crazy2 as much as I can in these 4 months. See you all soon.
patricians2001 04-28-08, 11:30 AM This is a great plan!! Since I live in the same climate I think I'll put myself on the same timeline. Now I just have to go out a buy a bat.
LOL, we can do it Patricia, and you have already done so well and are so close to your goal!!! Wow.
nausicaa 04-28-08, 12:10 PM Good plan, Nancy! Now it's time to think of your rewards :D Don't forget the rewards!!!!!
As you know, I have had days like you had last night where it is like something compelling me to eat. I believe that when that happens, it would take a super-human to resist. The true test of our dedication is picking ourselves up the next day and moving forward. THIS journal is a PERFECT example of what I mean by picking ourselves up and moving forward. You have responded to last night's "event" in THE MOST healthy way possible, and I'm proud of you!! So I'll be here cheering you on!
:koala:
MelsaEstel 04-28-08, 03:31 PM We'll all be here cheering you on!
How are you planning on weaning yourself off? Are you going to quit cold turkey, or reduce one can/bottle a day? I get the caffiene headaches, well I used to. I have always been a cup of joe in the morning, then I would have a couple cans of pop during the day. Now I have a cup of joe in the morning (but about half the size, I changed from a big mug to a regular coffee cup), and maybe one can a week, 2 max. And most of the time I don't finish them.
Sounds like you have everything lined up!
You should start a walking challenge or at least a walking journal in the exercise area, if you haven't already. I know you used to have one, but haven't looked lately:)
Have a great Monday!
Naus, lol, I haven't thought about rewards at all but I like the idea! Aren't you the person who just wrote not to long ago that you make rewards and then forget about them and just push on to the next goal. Maybe the point is to make a reward for reaching your goal, but that you don't really have to get the reward, lol. Wow, with that freedom I could make up some great rewards, and they wouldn't cost anything. Maybe that is called a virtual reward?! LOL
Melissa, yeah, by weaning I mean taking myself off of it a step at a time. I have done it before but slip back to old habits. So yes, I have to descide what 'weaning' will mean for this week. As for a walking challenge I am going to join the one that Vickilyn started. I was doing the one Lisrey started but it finished. I think they are making them for a month at a time. DD1 and I also thought that we might start one for the two of us to post in. She will be away this summer, at least through the weekdays and we thought it would be a good way for both of us to be accountable for making sure we keep up with our walking this summer.
Well I have 2 bottles of water finished already, walking is done(32 minutes for 3.3km or 2.1 miles). Calories are a bit high but I am going to the store today and will get some tuna and some chicken so that will help the rest of the week. Todays sandwich meat was not the best but all I had. I will also use some of the chicken to make some soup, that helps alot.
Well will check out some other ournals etc while I am waiting for me DD1 at the library here. Oh, my son is getting a new car today. Used that is. He has paid for it and has the keys but they had to get the insurance and things today. It is a standard and he has never driven that, except for the test drive last week, so I hope he finds it pretty easy to get used to. DH is teaching him and he thought it was pretty good.
catnas24 04-28-08, 10:41 PM Hiya Nancy!!
Nice New Journal!!!
I see you got urself a Great Plan there Lady, I know u can do it, your plan sounds really do-able I know you'll be looking Hottttter by Labour Day:D
Hugs,
Cathy
Well now, you've inspired me! I'm gonna start myself a new journal in the WW's forum and get moving. I agree with your strategy - the nice weather is approaching (I think!) and it's a great time to get out there walking. So what better time to take a deep breath and start making some real progress.
You sound really motivated and your plan is a good one! Good luck! Thanks for the inspiration!
Cat and Mel, thanks so much for the visits!!! I really believe that I can do this. Yes, it is doable, just have to push and stay on track and really, that is what it is all about right, pushing ourselves. No one ever said weight-loss was an easy journey but if we don't do it we will pay for it so badly in the future. So please, keep coming and making sure I am doing what I said.
Monday -
1. Calories under 1600 - 1690, 0/1, need to post my food plan before eating so no surprises.
2. Exercise - 3.3 km in 32 minutes, 1/1, + abs
3. Water(3 bottles) - had 4, 1/1
4. More fruit and veggies - good start, 1/1
5. Diet Coke - 1 glass, 1/1
Ok, so onto today and making it a good one.
Well I am feeling really good. Calories are nice and low. Had a 6" Turkey sub at Subway for lunch. I even had them leave off the cheese to lower the calorie count. It was delicious. DD went with me and she got a Veggie max. She has been eating vegetarian that last month or so. Doing pretty good with it too. Something I could never do, lol, I love my meat too much.
Did my walk this morning and was actually a minute faster than yesterday, whoohoo.
2 bottles of water are done and working on the third.
Had a really nice chat with DD1 as we drove around today and then at home while eating our subs.
DD2 has a new job, at a local movie/video store so I think she will like that. She seems to be happier when she has a job.
Well, just wanted to peak in and update my fitday list and plan for supper. We are either having Manicotti or shepherds pie. Depends on DS and when he gets home. He wants to make the manicotti but he is also supposed to be picking up his 'new' car today after work so will see what time allows.
Take care everyone. Make good choices today. It really does make a difference.
Ok, already for reporting about today. I did sit down and post my meals before eating them, and it is amazing how well that works out, lol. And actually we had a last minute switch for supper but was able to get on the computer and plan it out anyways.
Tuesday:
1. Calories under 1600 - 1525, 1/2
2. Exercise - 3.3 km in 30 minutes, 2/2, + abs
3. Water(3 bottles) - had 3, 2/2
4. More fruit and veggies - good start, 2/2
5. Diet Coke - 2 small glasses, 2/2
Wednesday -
1. Calories under 1600 - 1600, 2/3
2. Exercise - 4.76 km in 45 minutes, 3/3
3. Water(3 bottles) - had 3, 3/3
4. More fruit and veggies - low, 2/3
5. Diet Coke - 2 small glasses, 3/3
Doing good so far today, haven't eaten anything yet, just drank my water. Just got back from taking our cat to the vet. Dd called them this morning because she was worried about her. Once in a while lately she acts like she has a stiff neck and this morning her 3rd eyelid was also covering her eye alot so DD was pretty concerned. But apparently she is fine, they did give us some anti-inflammatories for her though. So if she still has this problem in 4 days then they will try and x-ray her.
LOL, she does not like her cat carrier and we usually have to lift her up and put her into it but at the vets, we had to pull her out of it and then she kept trying to get back into it, poor little thing. She is still acting a little funny right now at home, just sits on the floor, so we will give her a bit of time and see what happens.
Well, I am starting to see some really low, for me, numbers on the scale. The other day I saw 262 and this morning I saw it again. Now it always goes back up to 271 but at least there is another glimmer of hope. As I have said before, I seem to get stuck at 270ish and so am trying really hard to hang in there and keep on track to break that mark. I have not seen 262 in eons so hopefully it won't belong until I see it alot and then I will claim that I am that weight. I don't think that I really am right now. This is one reason I like to weigh-in each morning, to see that yes, sometimes the scale is down.
Well, I had better get moving here.
Thursday -
1. Calories under 1600 - 1566, 3/4
2. Exercise - planned day off, 3/4
3. Water(3 bottles) - had 2, 3/4
4. More fruit and veggies - good, 3/4
5. Diet Coke - too much, 3/4
MelsaEstel 05-02-08, 11:01 AM Look at those stats! It's been a great week so far! We're so proud of you! :)
Hope the weekend is great for you!
Thank you Melissa, that is very nice of you.
As of this morning I am back down to 269.5 from 273 after this past weekend. Very happy with that.
I am just checking out a recipe I made last night, I didn't eat it but am thinking of having some of the left-overs so am checking on the calorie count for a serving of it before I eat any, lol.
Today will be back to walking, but not sure how far yet. Sometimes I start walking and think, ok, I only have to do my short route, but when I get to a certain point in the route I will think about how I am feeling and if I want to make it longer. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. LOL
Oh, I have also lost and inch this past month, .5 on my waist and .5 on my hips. I expect more inches lost this month since I am alot more active now.
LOL, I weighed myself about 2 hours later and was down to 267. Who really knows.
well so far today I have done my ab workout, calories are great, looks like a lovely sunny day so walking will be nice. My DD's go to their school this afternoon so I think I will come home and do my walking then. Right now washing sheets and other laundry. I just checked the forecast and we are supposed to get up to about +14C(57F), so maybe I will even put my clothesline up and hang the sheets outside, that would be nice.
See you all later.
elecrazy 05-03-08, 07:03 AM Hey Nancy, great new Journal, and your goals sound really good and doable, I felt really inspired by your goals and hope I can be as good as you. Thanks for stopping by on my journal and for your support, it means alot to me. I still dont have internet at home for a while, so i will drop by when I can to see how your doing. And well done on the weight loss too, keep going girl!
Take care
Selina
Yogi-girl 05-03-08, 07:58 AM Hi Nancy....love the new journal...something nice about starting a new one...not that I want to start a new one every other week...lol
good job getting those few extra pounds back off! Your goals sound awesome! I sometimes think I need to increase my calories to 1500, (I am for the weekend this week...) but in general, maybe I wouldn't be so deprived...I would still lose, especially depending on my level of exercise....just slower...? I think I feel so deprived sometimes....1200 just doesn't seem to work for me anymore?
Well anyhow, sorry, this is YOUR journal! lol..keep up the great work and have a super weekend! :)
Electra, thanks so much for coming to my journal. You have been a great encouragement to me just by coming by and checking on me, hey and you are a terrific exerciser too, I need that push.
Yogi, you are almost to the 30 pounds lost mark!!! That is wonderful. I hope to get there not too long from now. I have heard that 1200 is pretty low but if you can do that through the week and then make a weekend goal of 1500 each day that might work really nice for you. I heard that changing those calorie limits keeps the body from switching into starvation mode. Just a thought, you are doing great. And go ahead and talk all you want here. I love it!!!
Friday -
1. Calories under 1600 - 1619, 3/5
2. Exercise - none, 3/5
3. Water(3 bottles) - had 2, 3/5

5. Diet Coke - good, 4/5

Have a great Sunday.

Sunday -
1. Calories under 1600 - 1941, 4/7
2. Exercise - 3.28km in 32 min., 5/7
3. Water(3 bottles) - great, 5/7
4. More fruit and veggies - low, 3/7
5. Diet Coke - good, 5/7
I also successfully finished my first week on my 4 month walking plan. That goal was for 20 km per week and I just finished with 21.19 km. It also took me 200 minutes so that is just under 10 minutes per km, a really good pace for the beginning of the season. Very happy with that.
Oh, and average calories are 1647, just 47 over my goal. Sundays seem to be hard so I am thinking of actually allowing myself maybe 200 or so extra calories on Sundays, just to feel like I am treating myself but not letting it get out of hand. Today was too high. Now this might mean that TTOM is just around the corner, which it should be but not sure.
Well, tomorrow starts a new week!!!
THE TOOTH 05-05-08, 02:13 AM Keep it up crazy. Somedays it is hard to keep the calories down. If you think that Sundays will always be high. It's better to add before hand for it. That way you don't get discouraged when it is high.
Amarantha 05-05-08, 03:13 AM Have a good week, Nancy. You are doing great.
Thanks TOOTH, I think that might be it. I also think that planning better will help too, even if I descide to allow a bit more, I still need to plan better.
Amarantha, thanks for the visit! :)
Well today is another lovely day, sunshine, nice temps. I have folded a bunch of laundry(it was piling up, oops), I just have a lovely shower and am ready to go to the store and stock up on some nice fresh fruit. We only have apples right now.
Friday I made some apple tart. It is really just a bottom pie shell, made wider than normal, pile the apple slices/chunks in the middle and bring the pie shell up around the apples. I call it a rustic apple tart. Well I had some of that on the weekend but when I posted it on fitday I used their apple pie format and it is alot higher calories than mine. I remembered this morning that I did put in my own recipe and so have switched over to it. With that done I am now under the 2,000 mark for yesterday, 1941 to be exact. Feels a bit better anyways, lol.
Ok, off to update yesterdays stats and then for a walk to the grocery store for fruit!!! Have a terrific day everyone.
Ok, I think that I am going to adjust my goals just a bit, more with wording than anything else. I will continue to push these as the weeks pass. Of course I want to have more fruit and veggies but I have been awful lately so starting this week with 3-4 servings.
1. Average calories/week under 1600 - Monday, 1455
2. Exercise(min. of 20km/week)
3. Water(3 bottles)
4. More fruit and veggies(3-4 servings a day)
5. Diet Coke - only one glass a day(or one small bottle)
Stats so far today:
1. Average calories/week under 1600 -- Monday, 1455 - 1/1
2. Exercise(min. of 20km/week) - walked 3.49km in 32 minutes - 1/1
3. Water(3 bottles) - 3 finished - 1/1
4. More fruit and veggies(3-4 servings a day) - still have the orange to eat but good - 1/1
5. Diet Coke - only one glass a day(or one small bottle) - nothing - 1/1
I descided that while I was downtown waiting for my DD1 to get done at school that I would figure out a 3km walk. So I went to RUNNINGMAP.com and found a simple 3.49km walk. I was worried about 2/3's through that I was too slow to but when I got back to the library it was only 32 minutes, so, whoohoo, I did great.
I was working around the house today, dishes, laundry, etc and at 11am I realized that I had not eaten anything yet, lol. So I had some water and then before you know it it was 12 noon and I was definitely getting hungry. So I had a chicken sandwich and a hardboiled egg. I believe I am going to make some pizza for supper so that will be a good way to get in some veggies.
DD1 and I are going to get some fruit etc on the way home. As you can see I didn't make it to the store this monring as I originally planned but that is ok. Now I can have an apple or an orange when I get home.
My knee didn't bother me hardly at all on the walk today so that is good. It actually bothered me a bit early this morning, in bed. Kind of a radiating tingle down my leg when in a certain position. It was just temporary.
Tuesday -
1. Average calories/week under 1600 -- 1597 - 2/2
2. Exercise(min. of 20km/week) - none - 1/2
3. Water(3 bottles) - 1 more to go - ?/?
4. More fruit and veggies(3-4 servings a day) - bad - 1/2
5. Diet Coke - only one glass a day(or one small bottle) - 1/3 of a small bottle - 2/2
MelsaEstel 05-07-08, 11:07 AM Way to kick 270's butt! 260 is just on the horizon, getting closer!
I think it's great that instead of sitting and waiting for DD, you planned out a walk and DID IT! That is so great! I wish I had better areas to do that. I live in a small subdivision at the cross streets of several busy roads, I work in a very busy area, so anything more than the parking lot would be asking for trouble. I need to get back to the state park, I drive past it everyday, I just need to make sure I have my shoes and comfy clothes. Maybe I will pack workout clothes, change here at work, and go and do some walk/jog intervals. The trail I like it very quiet, so it would be a great place to go and huff and puff my way around while I work up my endurance:)
Enough rambling. Reading other journals really inspires me to get up off my tush and do something, or just gives me something to think about and change in my own life. So thanks for being my walking inspiration! :) keep those legs moving!
Thanks Melissa, I keep getting kind of sneak peaks at the 260's and then it goes back up. But today it was back in the 260's so working hard today to keep it down. I don't know if I will be able to post a loss for BL this Friday. My last post for that I was at 268.5 and that is what the scale said this morning. Would love to be able to say some kind of loss though. Will do my best!
As for the walking, today I had a good walk, took a route that was just a little longer than my usual 30 minute route, took me 37 minutes to go 3.8km. I think one reason it was good is it got me out of the house and off all by myself. Less stress sometimes.
Well, so far today is going good. Calories are good, water - hmm little slow, walking - done, pop - finishing the rest of the little bottle I started yesterday, fruit and veggies are low so will use them for snacks the rest of the day. I am using broccoli for supper so that will be good too. Oh and there were lots of veggies in my chicken noodle soup at lunch.
Make good choices today.
Wednesday -
1. Average calories/week under 1600 -- 1585 - 3/3 :check:
2. Exercise(min. of 20km/week) - 37 min going 3.82km - 2/3 :check:
3. Water(3 bottles) - done - 2/3 :check:
4. More fruit and veggies(3-4 servings a day) - good - 2/3 :check:
5. Diet Coke - only one glass a day(or one small bottle) - 2/3 of a small bottle - 3/3 :check:
Well it started raining last night, and now it is snowing this morning. If things slow down I will get outside for a walk if not I will do a 3 mile walking tape. Can't lose any walking time.
Very happy with yesterday!!! Whoohoo.
Scale went up just a bit but I believe that is because it is TTOM so not panicing. Just might not have a loss for this BL weigh in.
I am going to fix up the storage room in my basement where my 'freecycle' workout bench is right now. It is just a little cramped in that area so I am going to do a 'harsh' decluttering and get the space more workout friendly. I will add weights goals as I am ready for it.
catnas24 05-08-08, 11:44 AM Hey Nancy!
I just wanted to pop in & say HELLO!

Cathy
Cathy, thank you so much for visiting and for the kind words. I am pretty happy with myself right now, too, lol.
Well ye crazy ol' scale. I often get a lower number lately when I weigh in an hour or so after getting up. The following are the numbers from this morning.
271 then 267.5(hoping this is the real one, lol, we'll see tomorrow).
catnas24 05-08-08, 02:08 PM Wow Nancy that is a huge jump within an hour, If I were you I'd just wait & weigh in daily an hour after I wake up:D
I wonder why that is, That you weigh less an hour after u wake up?
Keep up the Good Work!
Cathy

Well Sunday night is the Survivor Finale so I am thinking that we might have some extra munchies to party with then. At first I was thinking well I will just have that as a high calorie day, which it still might be but I really want to make the weekend the best I can. I want to stick firmly to calorie limit or even keep well below both days so that a little splurge on Sunday night won't be a big thing. I was even thinking about making a fruit salad with some light pudding or whip cream to nibble on. Something different from chips etc.
Enjoyed BL Australia last night. Some of the voted out contestants came back and will have a challenge to let one of them back in the running for the grand prize. First they all had to weigh-in and the person who gained since their last weigh-in at the house were immediately sent home. Only one gained and most of the rest had lost quite a bit on their own. It was great to see they had done so well on their own.
It is good to think back to how hard they workout on this show. I am sure they are all amazed at what they are able to accomplish with their bodies. You know, think about your body right now, all those negative thoughts about it, all the little aches and pains that slow you down from doing things, how tired you get, how hot and stiff. Then look at what the contestants have demanded of them, and how much they achieve after a few short weeks on their campuses. It is amazing. That is what one contestant, Christie, said several times, she had this big grin on her face and she made comments like, 'I can compete, I can race, I can run,' etc. She was thrilled with the new things that her body could do. This show Bob took the final 3 on an hour long run with lots of hills and valleys and they call ran the whole route, what a feeling. Yet both Bob and Jillian were surprised at how strong the people were who were voted off. They thought they would give them a real hard workout but they all did great. What a great feeling that must have been for them.
Well, I have rambled on enough I think. I just like to push myself by thinking about how hard TBL people workout and they survive and LOSE and so will I.
LOL, here is a crazy one. I headed out the door today to do a 5km walk. 5 minutes from home is the store where DD2 works so I stopped by to say hi. She was busy so I left pretty quick for my walk. Pretty soon I realize that I have to go to the bathroom, oh well, nothing close by, have to keep going. Maybe I'll cut it short but not at a cutoff point yet. Then I descide that I think I will be ok and go for the whole 5k. Well I get home fine, but am a little put out because my time is just a little longer than I want it to be!!! I figure walking with a full bladder does not make for a good walking pace. LOL, I survived. I figure if I can survive a 5k in 50.45 minutes with a full bladder then I should be able to shave some time off when I have no 'issues'. Hope that wasn't too awful for anyone.
Well I am at the library with DD1 and I have 13 minutes left on line, better get moving. See you all later. Please make this a good weekend, stay on track, push yourself, you can do it.
Saturday -
1. Average calories/week under 1600 -- awful, 4/6, won't reach my average this week.
2. Exercise(min. of 20km/week) - allowed day off - 4/6, :check:
3. Water(3 bottles) - done, 5/6, :check:
4. More fruit and veggies(3-4 servings a day) - ?, 3/6,
5. Diet Coke - only one glass a day(or one small bottle) - 1 glass - 6/6 :check:
Ok, blew it yesterday and won't make it below my average weekly calories of 1600. Was doing so well but blew it. Surprisingly today I still weigh 270. Crap, that scale refuses to go below there for anything more than one little weighin then back to 270. I said it before, my body likes 270!!!!! Grrrrrr!!!!!! Well I am going to kick it into submission and get below that and never see it again. I am growing to HATE 270!!!!!! LOL, don't worry I'll be ok, lol.
Today I hope to go for a long hard walk. I don't know what the family has planned for mothers day. DS took both DD's shopping last night and hubby said that he was going to order pizza for supper. It is also the finale for Survivor so we are planning to have some munchies with that. DD and I are thinking of making our own fruit salad for that. Trying to be light but we'll see. So hoping I can get in a long hard walk to finish off my week. I am just 2+km from my weekly goal of 20km.
Well, just wanted to peak in and tell about my horrible day yesterday, lol.
Again, Happy Mothers Day to all mothers here at diettalk. You are doing the hardest job on the planet and you are extremely important!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sunday -
1. Average calories/week under 1600 -- 1676, 4/7
2. Exercise(min. of 20km/week) - 3.3km in 31 min, 5/7, 20.6km total :check:
3. Water(3 bottles) - low, 5/7,
4. More fruit and veggies(3-4 servings a day) - 4/7, :check:
5. Diet Coke - only one glass a day(or one small bottle) - 1 glass - 7/7 :check:
well 4/7 days were great with calories, walking limit achieved this week, diet coke going good, water good except last 2 days, veggies & fruit, getting better. Weight, same, but down 3 pounds from 2 weeks ago so just a tiny bit shy of 2 pounds a week, unless it says 269 tomorrow morning and that is doubtful.
Just to help me keep track:
It has been 2 weeks since I started my 4 month challenge for myself.
Walking - 41.79 km done, goal was a minimum of 20/week, :check:
Weight - Started at 273, this morning was about 285.5, lost 4.5, goal 2 pounds/week x 2 wks = 4, :check:
Calories - Getting better at keeping below 1600 cal/day, except on weekends but working on that.
Stuff - have brought down diet coke consumption alot, taking another step down this week. :check:
Monday(week 3 of 18) -
1. Mon-Fri under 1600, Sat & Sun under 1800 - 1600(planned), :check:
2. Exercise(min. of 20km/week) - 4.75 km in 46 min. - 1/1 :check:
3. Water(3 bottles) - 1 more to go - short by 1/2 a bottle
4. More fruit and veggies(3-4 servings a day) - ok, :check:
5. Diet Coke - only one glass a day(or 1/2 small bottle) - 2 glasses. :(
I am very excited to say that since Mar. 20, the first day of spring, I have walked 99 km!!!
Mothers Day was yesterday. It turned out to be very nice. The kids went together and got a basket and filled it with some neat things for me. There was a bottle of diet coke, a package of 3 nice pens, a bottle of lotion, a big scented candle, a new scrubby for shower and a beautiful new journal. Leather like with a pretty pattern on it. The basket is also very pretty. Then we played the game Clue at the kitchen table, 3 rounds of it. It was nice to have that time to spend together and have fun. Hubby got us pizza for supper, that was yummy, then we went out to get some groceries and munchies to eat that night as it was Survivor Finale night. All in all it was a fun time and I really appreciated it.
Happy you had a great Moms Day :D
SUPER on the walking !!!!
I have been SO inspired by this journal - journey of yours I too am doing it - just not quite as "public" as you are - your braver ;)
Thank You !!
Congrats on your walking great job!
Butterflylady, we can BOTH do this, I know we can, we REALLY can!!! We have to actually. If we don't we are ripping ourselves off!!! We are allowing ourselves to settle, settle for less than what I think God planned for us. And with him on our side settling for less is VERY SAD. So lets do it.
Suny, how are you doing these days? Are the pounds still coming off? How is BFL coming along?
Well I think the scale has finally moved officially below 270. This morning it said 268, almost the same as yesterday so really happy about that. I was going to take my walk this morning but I descided to scrub the kitchen floor instead. You know, right down on the floor working mostly on the edges where the vac and mop really don't get very well. LOL, I even had a toothbrush out trying to get all the little corners. It looks much better now.
I do have to be in town this afternoon but will try and get in my walk after supper maybe.
Well, just wanted to peek in and it was so nice to see that some friends had stopped by. Thanks again!!!
Tuesday -
1. Mon-Fri under 1600, Sat & Sun under 1800 - 1625, over by 25, 0/1
2. Exercise(min. of 20km/week) - 5.84km in 54 minutes, 1/1 :check:
3. Water(3 bottles) -done, 1/1 :check:
4. More fruit and veggies(3-4 servings a day) - good, 1/1, :check:
5. Diet Coke - only one glass a day(or 1/2 small bottle) - ok, 1/1, :check:
elecrazy 05-14-08, 03:47 AM Hey Nancy
Well done on completeing your walking goal, thats really good news. I just read some of your journal and your doing great! Thought I'd drop by and say hi and see how your doing, I now have Internet and am going to be posting again! Well done on your achievements Nancy, your a great roll model.
Selina
Hi Elecrazy, I am so happy that you have internet at home now. Hope to see you around lots, maybe we will even get to chat some day.
So far today is going good. I have done the BL DVD, I am on my second bottle of water already, and calories are good.
I realized that I made a pretty lofty goal for exercise minutes this month, 950!!! That is in the exercise forum. I was posting all my minutes for my walking and when I got to the 11th of this month I wondered how I was going to achieve my goal, it seemed so far away. But the last 2 days I have taken slightly longer walks, and today did 29 minutes of BL, and am thinking that maybe this evening I will take a short walk. To reach the halfway point for minutes by the middle of the month(15th) I just need 54 more minutes. I am pretty sure I can do that, with walking and DVD. Boy, that DVD makes my arms ache and felt it in the legs alot too. I still can't do complete lunges and things but I am doing good for me. It is still making me work.
I notice that Bob is always reminding people to keep their abs tight while doing the exercises. I think maybe that is part of the trick of getting strong abs is to keep them firm while doing all the other twisting etc. I have been doing something similar while on my walks. Periodically I try to remember to tighten my abs while walking. I often get sidetracked with thoughts etc to do it very long but once in a while I will tighten them and count to 40 or 60 or something. It helps me keep my concentration on keeping them tight.
Well that is enough gabbing for now. I hope to be at the library this afternoon, in about 2 hours actually, so maybe there will be some here who would like to chat then. Jo and I met up yesterday afternoon. I will be there from about 1:30-3ish mountain time.
Make good choices today.
catnas24 05-14-08, 05:08 PM Hiya Nancy!
Just wanted to pop in & say *HI*
How ur having a Wonderful Day!
Hugs,
Cathy
Hey Cat, thanks for coming by!!!

2. Exercise(min. of 20km/week) - BL DVD - 29 minutes + 25 min walk(2.5km), 2/2 :check:
3. Water(3 bottles) -done, 2/2 :check:
4. More fruit and veggies(3-4 servings a day) - poor, 1/2
5. Diet Coke - only one glass a day(or 1/2 small bottle) - ok, 2/2 :check:
Scale is down a bit again today, maybe I will finally be able to lower my stats again soon!!!
Well my girls are at the dentist for their checkup and cleaning so I walked a couple of blocks over to the library to hang out for a bit. Later DD2 has to go out to the camp to get some instruction because she is going to be updating a site that they use for leaders from across Alberta to keep intouch about this training program they all are using. It is a pretty nice opportunity for her. DD1 will be taking some pictures of the camp at this time as they asked her to do this for them also. Me, lol, I might be able to get on a computer while there, or I did bring a book and my ipod to read and listen to music if no one needs me. Actually it is just beautiful here so maybe I will walk down to the beach or sit in the sun while waiting for them.
I am going to take a day off of exercise today because I am a bit sore from doing the DVD yesterday and then walking at night. I am supposed to have 2 days off a week and this is my first one this week so feeling very good about that. It is great to take a day off of exercise and not feel guilty about it!!!
I have started a blog on a blogging site because I feel that I have a strong need to just get things down and vent about them. I don't really have anyone I can do that with, who won't grab back at me that is, so finding a blog where no one know me seemed like the best thing. I even made a new e-mail and names no one would identify me as. Anyways, maybe this will help me with some of my stresses.
Calories are great so far, I have already posted supper and 2 snacks of fruit. I will still be a bit under so might have a fudgescicles or something like that. We are roasting hotdogs on our backyard firepit for supper tonight, should be fun.
Well, I think that is all I have time for right now. Have to get back to the dentist soon.
Take care everyone, be good to yourselves, make good decisions!!!
Angel Eyes 05-15-08, 10:03 PM Hello! i am so ready for summer and backyard bbq's. we grilled food last week. i love the food on the grill. I see your doing well and just wanted to drop by and say hello.
You are doing so well, Nancy. I have been AWOL and have the expanded waistline to prove it. I have done NOTHING for so long. I am trying to get over a terrible cough that I aquired after strep throat. I did go back to the Dr. Just can not seem to get over it. I am done with school next week and hope finally start feeling better when I can rest up and not talk as much.
I did start back at fitday but am not as faithful as I have been. I have some bad habits to break again!!!
My biggest frustration is exercise as I have an ankle problem and back problem when I walk a lot. That is so annoying!!! I was doing well walking my little dog, but with this cough have tossed that aside, too. I have been gardening, and certainly feel the muscles I have used!!!
You are doing terrific. So proud of your accomplishments with tracking the calories and exercise. Good for you. Thanks for checking in on me. The diet police never made an official arrest, but knowing they have a warrant out for me has me on the run.
You are a true friend. Thanks for not giving up on me!
Thursday -
1. Mon-Fri under 1600, Sat & Sun under 1800 - 1548, 2/3, :check:

3. Water(3 bottles) -low, 2/3
4. More fruit and veggies(3-4 servings a day) - poor, 1/3
5. Diet Coke - only one glass a day(or 1/2 small bottle) - high, 2/3
Friday -
1. Mon-Fri under 1600, Sat & Sun under 1800 - 1536, 3/4, :check:
2. Exercise(min. of 20km/week) - 3.3 km in 33 min - 3/4 :check:
3. Water(3 bottles) -done, 3/4 :check:
4. More fruit and veggies(3-4 servings a day) - good, 2/4 :check:
5. Diet Coke - only one glass a day(or 1/2 small bottle) - none, 3/4 :check:
Well it is going to be hot again today. It is supposed to get up to 30C today so I went out for my walk this morning. Got in 5.6 km but it took me an hour because it was mostly trails and hills and my right knee bother me quite a bit the last 20 minutes or so. Feeling fine now though.
Have drank 1 bottle of water already too.
Well not much to say today. Back later I hope.
Well tomorrow morning we are off to the city as hubby is in a half-marathon early in the morning. We will have to leave about 6:30 and won't be home til lunch time probably. The girls are coming with us so we are planning what we are going to do while 'dad' is out running. We'll take some water, maybe some juice, a sandwich and some fruit for each. I am going to take a book and if I can get this little quilted table runner sewn together maybe I will do some quilting on it while we are waiting. Unfortunately most stores will be closed while the race is happening so we can't do that.
The scale is doing a funny thing to me today. When I first got up it said 267, which was nice to see, then an hour later it said 265, which was surprising and then at about 2pm today it said 263, lol. Wish losing weight was that easy!!! Now, no, I don't normally weight that often just a fluke today.
I am not sure that I will get a walk in tomorrow with all that is happening, will depend on weather etc. The girls and I might stroll along the river which is close to the race site, but we'll see. If not I am ok for my distance goals this week anyways. Shooting to get in at least 20 km a week and so far this week I have 21.99!
Weight wise I also hoped to lose 2 pounds a week and am on track for that as well!
Diet Coke?! Yesterday I had none and today I am having a glass. I fill my glasses up with icecubes so there isn't as much room for pop, but it feels like I am having a big glass, lol.
Calories are going pretty good this week and today is very good so far. So I am hoping for a good calorie average at the end of tomorrow.
Feels like things are coming together for me, FINALLY, lol. Just need to keep choosing the best.
sun_optimist 05-18-08, 04:21 AM well done on the exercise , i have a video that says keep abs tight, and i do the same, when i run i try and pull up throug my stomache muscles, but man it hurt the next day!!!
hope the half marathon goes well. x
catnas24 05-18-08, 01:38 PM Hiya Nancy!
Just wanted to pop in & say "hi"
Hope ur having a wonderful weekend!
Hugs,
Cathy
elecrazy 05-18-08, 05:58 PM Hey Nancy, sounds like your doing a great job so far and Im so glad its all happening for you, you deserve it. Keep up the good work myfriend and have a wonderful weekend.
Selina
Sun, the half-marathon went very well. DH had to walk a bit of it because his muscles were spasming alot but he ran ALOT more than I expected him to. He is so competitive that he was still giving himself some negative talk about how he was disappointed etc so I reminded him of everything he has gone through, that he only got through half the training and then was sidelined for a couple of months, etc, and that I was amazed at how well he did, etc. Then to just help him remember those things I took his hand and slapped it, lol, that's right, just like you do with little kids when they want to touch something they shouldn't. LOL, he looked kind of shocked and I said that was because he was being too negative and hard on himself and he wasn't supposed to do that anymore. Hmmm, maybe I should try that on myself sometimes!!!
Cathy, thanks the weekend went well. The whole family, kids, me and DH sat and played a table game called Careers last night after supper. It was alot of fun. One of the few things we do all together lately.
Selina, thanks for the encouragement, you are always here for me.
Ok, trying to report some stats for my weekend, just not sure I will remember everything. I didn't get online very much, but here it goes.

3. Water(3 bottles) -low, 3/5
4. More fruit and veggies(3-4 servings a day) - ok, 3/5
5. Diet Coke - only one glass a day(or 1/2 small bottle) - ok, 4/5

Oh, scale is jumping around a bit but today it is 268.5, not bad.

elecrazy 05-20-08, 08:30 AM Hey Nancy, well done on a good weekend! sounds like you did a good job. So good to hear that your doing well and I cross my fingers that everything stays that way for you.
Take care. Selina
Selina, thanks for visiting and keep those fingers crossed, I need all the help I can get today. Not sure if it is just lack of sleep or what but I am struggling mentally today. I think things were pretty good until my DD's were a bit crabby this morning, then I just descided to kind of block everything out and just do my housework. I see myself doing that alot these last few months. When the kids are being aloof and crabby I just move away from everyone and do my thing. It is really just a bit of a defense mechanism probably but it is also me just letting them know that I am staying out of their business and letting them be. Just part of the separation process I guess.
It just worries me a bit because I am about 3 weeks into being on track with food and exercise and I think that is often where I fall apart. I so want to get this weight off and get on with my life. If we fly back to see family next May I don't want to have to worry about the seatbelt on the plane, and I don't want to be embarrassed that I am the biggest in the family(including relatives), and I don't want people feeling sorry for me or worrying about me because of the weight. I want to be free!!! Free from all the confines both physically and mentally that this weight puts on me. Free from wondering what everyone thinks, free from guilt, free from embarrassment, free from shame, free from ugly clothes, or rather nice enough clothes that I look ugly in. I don't care how nice big sized clothes are you still look OBESE in them. Plain truth.
DD2 is getting some great opportunities to work for a couple of organizations and companies to update and redesign their websites lately. It is pretty exciting I think. It is giving me the itch to learn to do it myself, lol, but I know almost nothing. But with the girls being done school soon we are planning on my going back to work this November, probably. That will probably just be a clerk job at a local grocery store or pharmacy. But while doing that I am thinking that I would now like to learn web designing. I started another thread here asking peoples advice at the best way to do this. I will not be able to go to a school for it so am trying to find the best 'teach yourself' method. My DD2 has a book and CD for learning CSS that she got from the place she works(for her to learn) so I am thinking that maybe I can use that. But upon reading the beginning of it today it says that you need to know XHTML first so I am getting some books fromt he library about that. Butterflylady suggested the HTML for Dummies book and I did find it on the list here. So now have a hold put on it. I am excited about the possibilities but also wondering if I can actually do this. We'll see.
Well that is all my news for now. Thanks for coming and checking on me.
MelsaEstel 05-20-08, 05:35 PM That's awesome that you are going to explore another job possibility. I have often thought about doing the same thing. There's no shortage for new websites! Good luck with the research and studying!
Don't let the family get you down and fall back into old habits. With staying out of their hair, you have more time to work on you. Take more walks, do something for you that is away from the kitchen. You are doing such a great job so far!
Hope your day looks up:)

Hey Melissa
Maybe you should look into it. Then you would have a job anywhere you and your honey end up living.
I do sometimes take walks when frustrated but you are right, to just use the time as me time!!! I like that, thanks, lol.
Angel Eyes 05-21-08, 08:04 AM Hang in there. i know first hand that family stress can put a damper on dieting. I agree with you on the guilt and shame of having a weight problem. i too hate how i look in clothes and want to be free of this burden. we can do it.
Thanks Sandy.

Feeling better today. I struggled through yesterday but didn't binge amd actually ended up quite a bit below limit goal. Didn't walk either so have to do that today but it is raining a bit so will figure that one out.
Here's to pushing through the tough stuff and hanging in there!
elecrazy 05-21-08, 10:50 AM Hey Sandy (I mean Nancy, sorry), sounds great that you want to learn something new, HTML (hypertext markup language) is very hard to write, I use to cheat by using the frontpage program with microsoft, it did all the HTML for you if you just typed in what you wanted and everythign else, i did it at college a few years back and passed. The HTML for dummies sounds like a good option, and good luck with it! i know you can do it girl.
Angel Eyes 05-21-08, 08:20 PM Nancy im laughing as selina called you sandy which is me. i was confused when i was first reading. anyways i do watch dr. phil sometimes. i believe all kids need attention but for me my attention is sometimes limited because everyone needs it. So they are forced to take what attention they can get. I know my son needs me but i have little kiddies here too and just one of me to go around so at almost 15 he has to learn to understand too and you just dont act this way because i cant give full blown attention.
anyways the HTML sounds hard. is it codes? ok take care.
Selina, That is ok, I guess my parents almost called me Sandy.
Sandy, glad you don't mind, lol. Yeah, this parent stuff is hard, but then again being a kid is hard too. We just have to keep doing what we think is right. You are doing good. Keep it up.
Well it has been raining all day and I have done no exercise. Tonight it has stopped although it is pretty cool out. I just finished watching X-Weighted and she did so great that I am super motivated to get out there. So just going to get the rest of my workout clothes on and go for a 7.6km walk, one of my longer routes. It should take me about 75 minutes. It is all roads but there are some pretty good hills. I might be at a birthday party at our local Boston Pizza tonight but I will be good and not eat much, if anything. Just have fun with friends. So if I don't get back tonight I will be here early tomorrow morning. See ya.
Selina and Sandy, thanks so much for coming by!!!! :ghug:
Glad the rain stopped and you were able to get out and walk great job! :D
Thanks Suny, I was glad too. So I did finish the walk and I did it in 72 minutes instead of 75, very happy with that. Was a little late for the party but people were coming all night so that is good. Had alot of fun visiting, haven't gotten together like that with friends for a very long time. Hubby was working nights but they said it was alright to come on my own anyways. Had 3 nacho chips with some sour cream and a diet Pepsi. Was already over with my calorie count for today.
Wednesday -
1. Mon-Fri under 1600, Sat & Sun under 1800 - 1822, 1/3,

Angel Eyes 05-22-08, 08:20 AM Good morning. yea its been raining here too and its so gloomy, i wish it would stop because i want to start walking again. I like your check mark system so think i will use it. i find so much helpful stuff on here by seeing what others are doing. anyways have a nice day :) and yes this parenting thing is hard, its aging me bad.
elecrazy 05-22-08, 05:49 PM So sorry for calling you Sandy lol having a few rough days, I did mean Nancy and Sorry Sandy for using your name, your both good friends of mine and I totally lost it lol
catnas24 05-22-08, 06:27 PM Hiya Nancy!!!!
Just wanted to say "HI"
Good Job with your Walking Lady 72min AWSOME!!!
Keep up the Great Work!
Cathy
Sandy, would love to have you join us using the check mark system!!! Tonight I thought it stopped raining so got dressed to walk and it was sprinkling abit still, but descided I was going to do it anyways, then it rained a bit more, lol. Got wet but felt good about walking. I even did 4 sets of running from one street light to the next street light!!! I went about 2.4km in 21 minutes.
Selina, no biggy, I am sure I have done the same thing. Sorry you are having some rough days, I will have to get over to your journal and cheer you on.
Cath, thanks for coming by, I deeply appreciate it!!!

Angel Eyes 05-23-08, 08:18 AM Good Morning Nancy! Great job on walking even in the rain. And the running from the st lights is a good idea too. i dont know how far i can run. Walking is enough for me at the moment. i hope you have a good weekend.
elecrazy 05-25-08, 06:34 PM Hey Nancy hope you have a great weekend!
Hello Ladies!!!
Well this past week has not been a great one for me.
I just made my walking goal this week, with a final total of 20.01, lol. Goal was 20km, minimum per week.
Calories, hmmm, I think they were over almost everyday.
I do feel that I am maybe coming out of my slump, that week that I often reach with any new start and then crash, usually for months at a time. But I think I have come through relatively unscathed so relieved about that. The shows X-Weighted and Australia Biggest Loser have helped me alot. Along with viewing some BL clips on YouTube this week.
Hey Nancy, let's come out of our slump together! Have you walked yet today? My husband and i walked 3 miles this morning. I hope to use the Wii Fit later on. I've GOT to get a handle on the food. I know if I get one or two good days under my belt it will be easier. I've got to chase the 'hungries' away. Today is a good day to start! I'm no where near where I wanted to be by the end of May, but I'm planning to make some headway soon. I know I can do it. Maybe we can encourage each other and really make June count!
Have a nice holiday today!
Hey Mel, thanks alot for the push/reminder. I think that when I am doing some posting here that I will go for my walk. Everyone else is busy here and they don't need me for anything. Thanks!!!
Here is something that I posted in the What will we do til BL 6 challenge but thought I would copy it and put it here as well. Hope you don't mind.
Oh, I will share one thing before I go. In the past I have found that with longer challenges I wimp out part way through. I think it is often after 3 weeks or so as this seems to be a place that I often lose my Oomph, lol. That is why last week was so hard, it was my 4th week on my new challenge/journal. So I am starting to see/admit that there is a pattern here(makes a difference to admit it). So I struggled along, trying to keep at it, failing with some but not as bad as it might have been. Anyways, the point of all this is that I was thinking about this challenge and that I really didn't want to come and post, and didn't think I could do it but then I got thinking about BL and thought, now, the contestants can't just give up(although there may have been a couple who wanted to go home), they have to break through their barriers too. So I can't just stop, and come back later, I have to keep at it, keep working, keep going. So here I am, lol. You thought you could get rid of me, lol. Sure glad we don't vote people out here!!!
That said, thank you to everyone who joined me here and who are keeping at it, even though I am sure you are also having your own struggles. You are all terrific.
Here is one more thing that I wrote in Catnas journal that might also help some here.
I am just starting to read Bob Harpers new book and in the second chapter it talks about thinking of one thing you like about yourself, of course if you think of more hurray for you!!! But think of at least one thing you like about yourself. Then use it as a bit of a mantra(don't worry I am not into new age meditation, lol). Then when those negative things start to come to your mind to replace it with your 'good thing' mantra. I actually did this when I was out for my walk yesterday. I started to think things like, 'what am I doing out here, who am I kidding' and then remembered Bob's idea and thought to myself, 'I am kind, I am generous, I am kind...." I believe that it actually helped.
Oops, just a little addition here. It is exactly 4 weeks since I started this journal and I was 273 pounds, I am now 268, 5 pounds down. Now I was hoping to lose 2 pounds a week so I am 3 pounds off of that goal but still very happy with the 5 pounds gone. Maybe I can still catch up in the next few weeks. :)

Congrats on the 5 lbs. - that's great! :cheer:
Cat, thanks very much for everything that you said, deeply, and I mean deeply, appreciated.
Mel, lol, the only thing I have done today is to get dressed, get my water bottle out of the fridge and sit down at the computer. I have been up for about 15 minutes. But thanks for the push, keep doing it, lol. I will check your journal soon to see if you have walked.
Editing:
I just went over my lists of walking stats and realized that somewhere along the line I had more km that I had posted(honest), I apparently wasn't adding corrrectly. As on my ticker I now have 88.48 km walked. I believe that by the end of this month I will be right on track for my 4 month goal.
elecrazy 05-27-08, 06:14 PM Hey Nancy, well done on the 5lbs lost, I think thats a great acomplishment, I do hope that you are proud of your self as I know how hard it is to lose the weight, and Im so sure that you will reach your goal of 2lb a week, I have alot of faith in you and know you will do this, and if not , dont worry cos we your friends on DT are here for you and ready to spoort should you need us.

I am nervous about weigh-ins this week because TTOM is just starting. I guess time will tell.
Today I had another one of those weird weigh-ins. At 7:45 am I weighed 267(good), and at about 8:30 am I weighed263(very good, lol).

Ouch, just one check mark, not great.
Again, Australias Biggest Loser got me out the door walking last night. It is so great that it is still on tv. I know it is an old season but I don't care about that, it is new to me, lol. I do know that Adro wins because they had him on the other BL this past season, lol. Oh well, it still inspires me. They had some extra people on last night. They came to the White House(BL Aus) to hear the final four talk about losing their weight, for inspiration. My heart just went out to them because they were all so big, so very big. But they looked like they were inspired by the contestants sharing and I hope that some good stories come out of it all.
It felt so great out walking last night. As always I got so warm that I had to take my sweater off. And then the sweating........lol. Then I know I have worked hard.
I think that today is going to be my other day of no walking this week. I will still try and do some abs but no walking. That will mean that I HAVE TO walk on Saturday and Sunday.
So far today is going pretty good, have to be careful as only 600 calories left for rest of day but full right now anyways.
Water is great today. I got a bit miffed today as DH called me an addict about diet coke and DD1 just said the same thing the other day. I guess the miff is because he drinks coffee everyday and she loves ice caps from Timmy's and has had about 3 this week. But just because I have had some physical problems with it I am the addict. So, with my anger energy, lol, I am going to try and completely quit it and only have it when I am out with friends. I'll show them!!! Sounds childish I know but it just ticked me off.
Dh works nights this weekend starting tonight.
I made a new dish for supper last night but it wasn't a big hit so will have to keep looking for new ideas.
Well, that is about it for now. To those who are so kind as to keep checking on me I hope you have a great weekend.
You're sounding rather down, Nancy. You've been doing so well, please don't get discouraged. Can you blow the coke addict remarks off??? Don't let them get you down! A little diet coke now and then isn't so bad if it keeps you satisfied and you feel it is a little treat. Ignore them if you can. Good luck and I hope you have a great, fantastic, exercise filled weekend. :D
Mel, yes I guess it did bother me quite a bit, whether it should have or not I dont know, but it did. But I used the energy to move forward and not to wallow in self-pity so that is good.
Stats from Friday -
1. Mon-Fri under 1600, Sat & Sun under 1800 - 1607, I still call that good, 4/5
2. Exercise(min. of 20km/week) - allowed day off, 3/4
3. Water(3 bottles) - more than 3, 4/5
4. Abs(5 times a week) - oops, forgot, 2/5
New low today, 266.5!
Many years ago here at diettalk I lost 20 pounds and got down to 266. I am excited about breaking that mark and getting lower and lower.
Hi Nancy: I am happy for you ..You are doing good... I agree if you like Diet Pepsi it certainly won't kill you :) sure better than a bunch of cookies or real Pepsi.
You will soon be bellow 260.. Way to go.
Have a nice weekend.. raining here.. Glad to be home a bit messy and all.. so tired but am recovering.. :)
thanks Lulu, actually I am a die-hard diet coke fan, I don't really like Diet Pepsi. And yes, I can tell the difference, lol. I don't even like regular Coke. Do you remember the commercial years ago for Diet Coke, it said, " Just for the taste of it", and that is what I like about it that nothing else has. Whoa, do I sound like a commercial or what, lol.
Saturdays Stats:
1. Mon-Fri under 1600, Sat & Sun under 1800 - 1650(below weekend limit), 5/6 :check:
2. Exercise(min. of 20km/week) - 31 min - 3.28 km, 4/6 :check:
3. Water(3 bottles) - more than 3, 5/6 :check:
4. Abs(5 times a week) - done, 3/6 :check:
Pasted my goal for the May walking challenge!!! :check:
Month end stats:
Walking goal was 86 km and walked 88.27!!!
Exercise minutes goal was 950 and I posted 892. Missed goal by 58 minutes too short. Still happy with my achievement.
Just 4 days that I didn't completely post food on fitday!!!
Weight went from 270 on May 1 to 266.5 on May 31.
.5 inches lost on belly this month but nothing on the 3 main measurements.
sorry Nancy that was my mistake.. I meant coke and wrote Pepsi:o..
Yes I remember that commercial very well.
I used to drink a big bottle of Pepsi a day not diet either, later I guess I may have switched to diet but then quit it all together... Only drink water now and of course tea..
catnas24 06-01-08, 01:10 PM Hey Nancy Girl!!!
Woah lady your End of MOnth Stats look AWSOME!!!!! You are really doing it I'm sooo Proud of you..
Keep up the Great Work & I look forwared to seeing those number keep dropping for ya!
Hugs,
Cat
I am going to try and completely quit it
I know you can do it and you'll feel great after you do!
Keep it up!
I'm sooo Proud of you..
Thanks so much Cat, that means alot!!!
Hey Suny, yes I am sure I will feel better.
Ok, just checking stats on this last day of week 5 of my 4 month challenge(18 weeks).
Sunday -
1. Mon-Fri under 1600, Sat & Sun under 1800 - 1599, 6/7 :check:
2. Exercise(min. of 20km/week) - 6.37 km in 61 min., 5/7 :check:
3. Water(3 bottles) - done, 6/7 :check:
4. Abs(5 times a week) - done, 4/7 :check:
Ok, so to successfully finish this week I need to eat nothing else, do some abs(well I am too low for this week), walk at least 5.45 km, and drink one more bottle of water. So I guess I will be back later to make a final report for today and this week.
Updating:
I shuffled some things around and got calories under 1600!!!
Looks like you did great this month! Keep it up, Nanc! You rock! :)
Yay for shuffling under calories! Your doing well on week five with those challenges Congrats on all success.
MelsaEstel 06-02-08, 01:02 PM Nice work! And congrats on reaching a new low! Here she comes 250's!
I am with you in that I can tell a difference between coke and pepsi. I am a pepsi gal though. Diet pepsi over diet coke, but diet cherry coke over diet wild cherry pepsi. I am weird, I know. I still have a can or two of pop here and there, mostly on weekends. You are doing great!
Suny and Melissa, thanks for popping in!!! Love it.
I have to admit I am getting a bit jealous of all the people buying Wii's, out there, lol. Just not in the budget right now, but then that is how we have our house and vehicles all paid for too, budgeting. Actually no debt at all. Guess things could be worse than not having a Wii, hahaha. So, ok, I am feeling better now. Of course this also means that we don't eat out alot, we seldom order in, so yes this means we make most of our own meals. But with being used to making our own healthy meals I have very little desire to get take out. When we do buy pizza once in a while I can't help but thinking of the high fat content of it all and how unhealthy the white crust is compared to our whole wheat crust we make at home. Ok, getting more and more content.
Scale read 266 at noon today!!!
Nancy, thanks for dropping in on my journal. I am slowing gaining my control. At least with journaling my food, I see what I am putting in my mouth. Hope you have a great week.
Hello Suny, Melissa and Susan. Thanks so much for coming by!!!
Monday -
1. Mon-Fri under 1600, Sat & Sun under 1800 - 1607, 1/1 :check:
2. Exercise(min. of 20km/week) - none, 0/1
3. Water(3 bottles) - done, 1/1 :check:
4. Abs(5 times a week) - done, 1/1 :check:
On Sunday when I was out on my walk my mind started saying things to me like, 'well, you are finally down to the weight you were 7 years ago, wow, just think where you could have been by now, but oh no, you are right back there. Wow, you are great, NOT!!! What do you think you are doing out here, you'll never'**********screech!!!!!
Then I thought, 'ok, that is getting you no where, those thoughts won't help. The point is you got those 20-25 pounds back off, you are doing a good job with walking and calories. Just keep working at it, just keep going.'
Then focused on the walking and music and was fine. A close call yes, those nasty thoughts can really grab ahold of me sometimes but overall I am getting better at stopping them and refocusing.

I feel that I need to be more careful at making sure I am getting enough/more fibre. So today I tried a Kashi Chewy bar and was surprised at how good they were. They have 4g of fibre per bar so that will help. Plus better food choices as well.
elecrazy 06-03-08, 03:50 PM Hey Nancy, well done on Mays stats! I think you did great. At least you are atchually doing something where as lots of people will think about there weight problems and keep putting the weight on becuase they dont wnat to make the effort! so be proud that you are where you are and be proud of your hard work.
Selina
Elecrazy, that used to be me, and it still is some days but fortunately not as bad as I used to be. I am starting to feel a bit proud of myself. Especially when I am out walking and have to pass people who are going slower than me, lol. I'm bad.
Tuesday -
1. Mon-Fri under 1600, Sat & Sun under 1800 - 1599, 2/2 :check:
2. Exercise(min. of 20km/week) - 6.37 km in 60 min., 1/2 :check:
3. Water(3 bottles) - just finishing off the last one, 2/2 :check:
4. Abs(5 times a week) - done, 2/2 :check:
Nancy, whenever I start thinking about what I could have done in the past or where I'd be had I done a particular thing years ago, I recite the serenity prayer. And I do it often, that's why it's in the signature of every post I make. I just have to keep reminding myself that i can't change the past. It does no good to focus on the negative and I'm glad you're getting better about it. I think we all go through it at times. But I TRY not to dwell on it long enough to put me in a real funk. Sometimes I win, sometimes not, lol.
Have you ever tried Fiber One cereal? They make a Raisin Crunch that's really good. It has 11 grams of fiber per cup. LaTortilla Factory makes a Lg. Low Fat/Low Carb Tortilla that has 14 gms. I think the regular size has 11 or 12. Also SBD makes Southwestern Chicken Wraps (come in a box like Lunchables) that has 15 gms. All guaranteed to 'get you going', lol. Add one of those things per day and your fiber gets quite a boost. Just some suggestions. :)
Mel, Thanks very much for the suggestions, some of those products are very high, wow. I just checked our Tortilla wraps, they are smaller ones, and they have 4g. I just have not paid alot attention to fibre on nutrition labels so maybe I will be more aware of that in the future.
Amarantha 06-04-08, 02:27 AM Hi, Nancy! Good job on the thought stopping technique. You are doing great and have done a great job in releveling your weight so you should be proud.
Thanks for postin' in my newest journal. I appreciate it.
BTW, have you tried Benefiber or Fiber Sure to up your fiber count? Just a little in food or a drink now and then can help a lot.
Hi Mel, hmm, I will check those out, good idea. I even say a packet of Crystal Light that talked about having fibre, might check that out again too.
My older sister and her hubby just got back from a cruise in the Mediteranean. They had a fantastic time and were awed by all the wonderful things they were able to see. The very last place the visited was Barcelona and there, somehow, the taxi made off with their camera and pictures, ALL the pictures from their trip, they have nothing now. They asked people what to do to try and get it back but they said that no one tried to help them. Hmmm, doesn't make a trip there very appealing now does it. But the important thing is that they are safe and home. (their names are even on the camera but no help from the people). oh, no it didn't sound like it was a mistake, that they just left it behind, it sounded very intentional.
Nancy - I have see the Wii advertised. Have you talked to anyone who uses it? Do you get much of a workout? Just curious. Yes, I agree about the fixing food healthier. sometimes I think about just a plain hamburger. I can even make that much healthier than to buy one - even the fries!!! We don't eat out much either and being in the country - well ordering with delivery is out of the question. Probably a good thing.
Hi Susan, there are several people on diettalk who have a Wii. LadyWendy started a Wii challenge in the challenge thread, I am sure they will talk about it there. From what I hear it is alot of fun and that is very motivating.
Wednesday -
1. Mon-Fri under 1600, Sat & Sun under 1800 - 1866, 2/3
2. Exercise(min. of 20km/week) - allowed day off., 1/3
3. Water(3 bottles) - just finishing off the last one, 3/3
4. Abs(5 times a week) - allowed day off, 2/3
Weight today - 265!!!
going2suceed 06-05-08, 05:04 PM Hi Nancy
Just found your journal again so had to read from the start. You have set very good goals for yourself - not sure about the 2 pounds/week but as long as you don't get depressed when you don't make it you will have a high goal to work towards.
You are certainly very consistent in tracking your goals and achievemtns. It is the consistency that I lack. Can you send me some?
I like the check marks - how do you do that? It is a very visible way to track your sucesses and I would like to do that.
Seaweed 06-05-08, 08:56 PM I recently gave up pop completely. I was a diet-caffeine-free-coke drinker. I switched to iced tea (make my own). Went cold turkey....no pop in the house. After a week I didn't even miss it. After two weeks we splurged and had pop with our Friday night pizza and both hubby and I were in tummy distress for the next 24 hours! That convinced me...I feel so much better not drinking it. I'll take the few calories in tea rather than the chemicals in pop.
You might find the same thing, or maybe it has no effect on you.
You're doing great with your weekly goals!
Lesley, I like the check marks too. John just added them to the smilies.
Seaweed, yeah, I should probably do that too, lol.
Thursday:
1. Mon-Fri under 1600, Sat & Sun under 1800 - 1644, 2/4 :check:
2. Exercise(min. of 20km/week) - 3.3km in 31 min., 2/4 :check:
3. Water(3 bottles) - done, 4/4 :check:
4. Abs(5 times a week) -not yet, 2/4
going2suceed 06-06-08, 08:25 AM keep it up - you are doing GREAT!
elecrazy 06-06-08, 03:49 PM Hey Nancy just wanted to hi and say that your doing really well, and to have a great weekend!
Angel Eyes 06-06-08, 04:11 PM Hello Nancy! Yes i too say the same things to myself. Like how could i be almost where i was a yr and half ago, i had 45 pounds off by august and had i kept going id have so much more off but cant beat ourselves up. The important thing to me is never quitting and to keep pushing forward. it is a long journey for most of us but feel so proud when we see the weight coming off. You are doing very well so just feel proud of where you are at right now and forget where you wish you were. Enjoy the weekend :)
Thank you Lesley, Selina and Sandy. I have struggle this week though keeping those calories down to where they should be. Need to figure out that problem, but walking is good, abs, hmm, need more, and water is good. Tomorrow is last day for this week so will give final tallies then.
Have been busy with housecleaning most of today, still have to get out for a walk. Hubby is in the MS bike tour today. The first half was today and then again tomorrow. Need to make sure he has a good supper tonight.
Well, thanks for all the support this week, my friends. I couldn't do it without you. See you soon.
Oops, forgot yesterdays(Friday) stats:
1. Mon-Fri under 1600, Sat & Sun under 1800 - 1659, 2/5
2. Exercise(min. of 20km/week) - 3.8 in 38 min., 3/5 :check:
3. Water(3 bottles) - done, 5/5 :check:
4. Abs(5 times a week) -nope, 2/5
Hey Nancy, something bothering you that you're having trouble with the food all of a sudden? Anything you can think of? Sometimes if you can pinpoint the problem, you can work through it. Just trying to help, as you've been so supportive of me.
I have struggled this week though keeping those calories down to where they should be. Need to figure out that problem, but walking is good, abs,
Hi! Just remember tomorrow is a new day and a new week! You can do it.
Amarantha 06-08-08, 04:57 PM The food part just gets hard sometimes, Nancy, 'cause, well, food is our friend and sometimes it's not so easy to set limits. Hang in there and hang on until the glitch passes!
Mel, thanks, yes I need to be willing to take the thought to figure out why this week, and especially this weekend was so hard. Some kind of emotional thing happening there I think.
Suny, thanks, I will do this, guess I can't expect every week to be as easy as the one before, lol.
Am, thanks too. Hope I can make this week a good one.
I got a neat compliment tonight. We had a couple from the neighborhood over and as we were talking the man looked and me and said, 'You' and I thought he was mad at me about something because he said it so firmly, lol, but he went on to say that he had seem me walking alot lately, all around town and was very impressed with my dedication. Wow, what a surprise. I have been feeling crappy because I didn't walk Sat or Sun and didn't reach my goal for this past week but part was weather(rain) and part was my fault. But his comments really made me feel good and wanting to get back at it and keep going. I have never found him particularly friendly to me, very business like, so I really do take his comments very highly. Who would have thought.
I am starting to see that I have a pretty low self-esteem. This afternoon I finally phoned some ladies in the neighborhood to see if they wanted to go out for coffee something this week(I have just been feeling that I need to interact with them alot more than I do, which is virtually nothing). Several are able to join me on Wednesday and sounded quite happy about it. As I was making supper I got thinking about how enthusiastic they were and started thinking about how odd it was. I thought it was odd that they would be so happy to get invited out with me. Who was I, why would they be happy about visiting someone like me. They have their jobs and friends and I am just this weird stay-at-home-mom, who homeschooled her kids, who doesn't get out much.... blah, blah, blah, lol. I really, honestly couldn't figure it out. Now I think that is a sign of someone who doesn't really think much of herself. I told hubby about it, that I couldn't figure out why they were so happy, so willing to do it. I don't think he entirely got it, he did come out to the kitchen and try to talk to me, but we have such horrible communication(just a guy-girl thing I think). But I am just going to be grateful that somehow they and I are connecting and I am hoping that we can get closer. Now I realize too that it could just be them being polite, of which I would also understand.
anyways, that is just my thoughts.
I am excited because tomorrow night is music practise. I have been able to join the music group that my son plays in for church. They are the most upbeat group, with a great drummer, base, electric guitar(my awesome son), another acoustic guitar player and keyboard. I have just started singing with them, they are my favourite group of the 3 at the church. Not bad for a 49 year old lady, lol. In fact my son said that when he was hanging out with a bunch of the guys that they asked if his mom, me, had some 'black' in her background, lol. I guess they think I have some 'soul' in my singing. Anyways, I am just thrilled that my son didn't mind me joining, I let him descided if it was ok, no feelings hurt if he didn't, I would have understood, but he did and I think we are doing ok, so far, lol. Actually I was asked to join them with the thought of me leading my own group starting in the fall, maybe. We'll see how everything goes. I think my son and the drummer might play for me if I do that but will need more instruments too. It would be a thrill. I have lead before, it is alot more work but very satisfying(lol, and you get to pick all your favourite songs and do them in the style you want!!!).
Well I missed my 20 km goal for this week by about 4 km so will try work that into this week so that I am caught up.
So, see you all tomorrow. Lets make this a really good week.
Oops, thought I better get in my final stats for the week.
Sat and Sun -
Calories - over!!!
Exercise - none, part of the blame is weather but mostly my own fault
Water - pretty good but not complete.
Abs - nothing.
Final numbers for this week -
1. Calories - 2/7
2. Exercise - 3/7
3. Water(3 bottles) - 5/7
4. Abs(5 times a week) - 2/7
Total km walked this week 15.97.
Short of weekly goal by 4.03 km. Will add this to this next weeks 20 km to keep me on track as much as possible.
I am not sure what I did but my walking goal was to take place over 4 months to a total of 360km and I am already almost 1/3 of the way there instead of 1/4 of the way there. I guess those extra days a month make a difference. Not sure, maybe I am just bad at math!!!
Good job inviting the ladies out for coffee who knows maybe you guys could start walking a few days a week and go out for coffee once or twice a week after the walk.
Or start a book club and coffee. I am proud your getting out more that's great. I have to admit I need to do that more I have a close friend and every time she wants to get together I can't. I feel bad about it so I think I will call and see about her and I getting together next week and doing something fun. Have a happy monday.
Great ideas Suny. Thanks.
Well so far calories are good, water is going good, walking is done, a bit of toning is done. Am about to post what I think we are having for supper to make sure I say within goal. Going to make this a good week.
Week #7 Goals
1. Daily calories below 1600
2. 20 km of walking for the week
3. 3 bottles of water daily

catnas24 06-10-08, 02:48 PM Hiya Nancy Girl,
Just wanted to stop in & say "HI"
Hope u have a Wonderful Week!
Hugs,
Cathy
thank you Selina and Catnas, you two have gotten me through alot this spring and I appreciate it.
So far today is good. I was almost tempted when at the store but was strong. Hubby is ordering pizza for us tonight so I will have to be VERY strong for that, lol. I am at the library right now but will be going by the grocery store on the way home so will maybe look for some good alternatives.
I tried some Crystal Lite today that has 3 g of fibre in it. I was surprised at how good it was. I have tried some of their regular stuff but not been thrilled. The juice today was actually good. It is those nice individual packets that you can add to your bottle of water. Very neat.
Well, that is about it for now. Must get over to your journals soon, see ya.
Angel Eyes 06-10-08, 11:24 PM Hello Nancy! Dont be so hard on yourself. You know they say we are hardest on ourselves more than on others and we sometimes can be our own worst enemy. Your a good, honest person and i think its great you invited them over. My personality is outgoing, im funny and i love to talk but sometimes my weight lowers my self esteem and makes me feel like a loser. I know that isnt true, that im a good person. Right now im working on liking myself, then i want to love myself. Not a simple feat when you feel so bad toward yourself. Glad to see you got back on track as well. You have come so far and are doing wonderful.
when you were saying about hubby getting pizza you have several choices. For me pizza is a big downfall though i survived it on 2 pieces on friday nite. (weekends are the worst)
I either just have 2 cuts or i buy either Lean Cuisine pizza, healthy choice or can make your own on either a bagel or english muffin. The ones from south beach are good too. Just a thought.
Darn those hubby's they do love their pizza's! Hope you had a great night with your family. Thanks again for all the help! Glad you liked my quote too.
Sandy, yes, pizza is one of my MAJOR weaknesses. and I didn't find/chose any healthy options, I over did it, I felt it, I faced it. LOL, surprisingly weight is down this morning. I had gone up on the weekend and it is coming back off again. Weird eh.
Prada, yeah, I know he is just trying to do something nice, lol.
Ok, facing the facts of yesterdays stats(*sigh*):

4. toning exercises 5/7 times a week- none, 1/2
catnas24 06-11-08, 04:42 PM Dont worry too much about the Pizza Nancy it was just a Minor Slip Up! Well all have'em & all we can do is just keep pushing forward, Dont dwell on the Past.......
Ya for the Scale going Down!!!
Okie Dokie Nancy I hope u have a Great Day!
Cathy
Nancy, I have that problem with pizza, too. I LOVE it!! Hard to find anything low carb either. Great job on tracking everything. I heard a good one on Paul Harvey. He talked about how women do a better job losing weight by journaling . Write everything down. In fact by the afternoon you have a good work of FICTION! :) Only being honest with ourselves will we battle this. Great work, Nancy!!!
elecrazy 06-12-08, 05:41 AM Hey Nancy, I too struggle with pizza, its my favourite meal to eat and I just cant stop at two slices lol its too yummy, what with eating well since february, I havent had pizza for well over 4 months because I just know I will indulge too much lol but I think sometimes you have to eat the things you like to reward yourself for being so good, your body needs to know this and you will just go straight back to being good the day after, so its well worth it. Dont feel guilty or be hard on yourself for it, its not worth it and you only live once. Take care Nancy and hope that you have a great weekend.
Selina

Week 8 of 18!!!

3. Drink 3 bottles of water
4. Do toning exercises
5. Take meds and vitamins
I have been getting sidetracked, mentally, this last little while but I feel I am ready to put those things behind me and move forward. It is kind of like I have been holding on to certain feelings and frustrations, trying to bring back the past, but it isn't working so I have descided it is just time to let it go and take care of me. I am just going to start from where I am right now, encourage those who are supporting me now and shake this weight(more ways than one) off of me.
I would like to try increasing my pace on my walking. I will do it in spurts on my walks. Kind of like intervals of running but not running, just increasing pace. Hubby inspired me when we were walking one day last week so I think I will try it this week. I think I can do more than I am right now.
I am also going to print off some pages that I found that have weight-lifting instructions. I know how to do alot of the exercises because of past experiences but once I get lifting weights I forget and don't keep focused. I think that some of my kids might also like to learn to lift weights and so this might help them as well. I think I will put the printouts on poster board by weight bench.
DD2 writes her gr. 12 Social exam today and then her gr. 11 math exam tomorrow. I am not sure how she will do as she hasn't had, or taken, much opportunity to study. I will sound horrible, but secretly I am hoping that she fails one of them as she needs them to graduate. But still feeling that she is too young and immature for college this next year. She is a bit of a daring one and I am thinking, because of recent events, that she will be crazy away from home. Very worrisome.
Well, this whole week is busy for us. DD2 writes today and Tuesday, then she has her wisdom teeth pulled on Friday.
DD1 comes home today from being at camp on the weekend. She is working there again this summer teaching digital photography to campers. She writes an exam on Thursday and finishes up her photography course for school.
Today my aunt and uncle are coming to visit, sometime. They called from Edmonton on Saturday. They live back home in Ontario and I haven't seen them for about 8 or so years.
Wednesday, hubby and I give blood, just our usual appointments every 2 months.
Next Monday, the 23rd, I have my routine mammogram done.
Well, that is what we have to look forward to at our house this week, lol.
See you all soon.
You do have a busy week! They fly by even faster the more things on the list.
Have a nice visit with your aunt and uncle. Eight years is a long time!! You will have a lot of caughting up to do!
Hope you have a good day. I just got off my bike and have my food all planned. That helps! Take care.
Great attitude girl!

Letting go will set you free I know from my own life. You can't live in the past or hold on to wanting things in the past to change because that can't happen. All we can do is change our reaction to future events that happen. That change allows us to be in control instead of the frustrations controling us.
You know that old and wise saying Let Go and Let GOD, well it really does work. When we finally realize that whatever happens is his plan and he is in control that changes our entire lives. I am so happy you are letting go and moving forward toward huge successes in all areas of your life. That's wonderful! Have a blessed monday.

Angel Eyes 06-16-08, 08:49 PM Oh yes pizza, one of my worst foods of temptation besides candy and chinese food.
Its so hard to let go of the past, im trying to do the same. I know by letting it go, one can then go forward.
Just keep the positive attitude, and keep moving forward. With all of us, especially those who have alot to lose like myself, its a long journey of change. Take care of yourself.
Sandy, thanks so much for your comments and encouragement. I found a couple of times today where it helped alot to remind myself that I was letting go of those disappointments in the past and just moving cheerfully forward.

Selina
Selina, thanks AGAIN for the encouragement. Deeply appreciated and remembered.
well last night I had my longest walk for this whole challenge so far. Last weekend I did what was then one of my longest routes and realized that I would walk right by the entrance to the trail that I sometimes walk. It is the opposite entrance to what I normally take and then I take a path out of the trail about 2/3's in. Anyways, I descided right then that I was going to figure out a route that would take me the whole length of the trail. So last night I set out to do it. I walked on the road for about 37 minutes and then took the entrance to the path that is farthest from my home. Now it was hard to get an exact distance measurement on the trail as it twists and turns but I timed how long it took me to go all the way through and it took me exactly 28 minutes all the time trying to keep a pace as close to road walking as I could. Then it took me 19 minutes to get home for a total of 84 minutes. I have a rough estimate of distance for whole walk as being 8.25 km so that is a little slow for my usual pace so I have a feeling that the trail section was longer than I can figure from RUNNINGMAP.com. But not too bad. I told my DH that he would have to walk the trail for me with his pedometer on so that I could know the exact distance. Actually he runs with his pedometer so we'll see if he gets inspired to do it for me. Or maybe he will let me use it but he has it programed to his running stride so probably wouldn't work right for me.
I think that tonight I will just do the lake route, that is just over 6km and takes about 61 minutes. Hell's Kitchen is on tonight and DD1 and DS and I love to watch it.
judith6 06-17-08, 04:33 PM if you are successful at letting go of the thoughts of the past pass on the skills for that LOL i would love to be able to do that successfully, i can for short periods of time, but then the anxiety comes back!
we are heading out of state for a few days, oldest is getting his Masters in Business and we are attending the ceremony. be back next week.
Judith, that is wonderful about your son graduating, what a smartie!!!
