View Full Version : summer 08
Have been AWOL and the scales show it. I just built a diet sheet I want to follow using EXEL. I am tracking my choices, calories, and carbs. The weather has been awful - cold and rainy, so not getting outside like I usually do this time of year. So the treadmill is still on the go.
Goals:
Calories 1400-1500
Carbs: 10-12 servings
Stay in food choices on chart
exercise 30 min daily beyond normal housework, yardwork, etc.
chumlette 05-29-08, 10:39 AM Welcome back!
catnas24 05-29-08, 11:58 AM Hiya Welcome Back!!
Good Luck to you, Your Plan look's Great!
Cathy
Well, my calories are looking OK, but the carbs are not under control. Busy day today with cleaning at home, church, mowing, and oldest and I put up solar lights around the garden. I am beat!! But I got my workout in, I feel in all I did. My first week is already over!
Had terrible storms last night. 19 tornadoes in Nebraska with the storms. Luckily none here, but there was flooding in the area. Gorgeous day today. Thought it would be windy after all that, but it was calm, warm and just a lovely day.
Chum - thanks for checking in on me.
Cathy - My plan is pretty typical for me. But I have to get back on track.
You'll get there! Good to see you back. :)
Mel - Thanks! After the bike ride today, I am not so sure!!!
Today I drank my water. Calories were 1413 :) Carbs were 155 (10 servings) :)
I walked this morning - short one. And I biked 6 miles tonight - nearly DIED!!! Never has a bike ride been that hard! WHEW!!!
Youngest and I planted sweet corn today. I planted some other things and tilled a bit. Rested in the afternoon. It was very warm and I was beat. Taking a well deserved bath!!
Sore today from the bike ride. Did some garden work. Heavy on the carbs today for food choices and low in protein. Looks like cottage cheese for dinner. Will end up over 1600 calories, but hopefully not too much over.
Amarantha 06-01-08, 07:51 PM Welcome back! Looks like you have a great plan and everything under control! And cottage cheese is delicious. I like to eat it with Triscuits for just a few more cals. Have a good week.
Whew I found you and not too far into your new journal!!! Great to see you here again!!
Love your goals, I know you can do it. You will make this a great summer. We'll stick together and push each other along!!!
A few calories over today. Mostly those darn carbs again. EVERYTHING seems like a carb these days!!!
Trimmed bushes this morning and worked up a good sweat. Youngest has a ball game tonight, so will be gone to that.
Worked on my grad. class for a while. Just needed to get working on it.
Humid today so the A/C is on. Sure wish we had more of the low 80 or high 70s stuff.
Ran errands and kids around this afternoon.
monicapink 06-02-08, 10:00 PM Welcome back Susan, :wn ..
Was so pleasantly surprised to see your new Journal; I look forward to reading about your successes .. BE PATIENT WITH YOURSELF it's going to happen for you. Have and make it a great evening. Monica
Good for you for continuing to keep track on fitday. Ignorance is NOT bliss, it can be deadly, so keep posting, keep tracking. Would it work to try and up the protein in your earlier meals? then it might help balance out the carbs more. I don't know, just wondered if that would help.
chumlette 06-03-08, 09:25 AM Hi!
Are you on the low-carb plan? I try to eat healthier ones most of the time. SBD worked well (I lost like 40 lbs) but I couldn't stick with it and once I put whole grains, etc. back in my diet, I gained it all back. So, now I am just cutting back generally and trying to make better choices all around, while not depriving myself (so I keep it up for a lifetime, instead of a few months). I call it the addition system. I keep adding good things, not really subtracting bad things, but I figure if I'm full on the good stuff, there is no room for the less healthy foods. Eh. It is working, just not as fast as SBD.
You are in grad school? What do you study?
I feel for you with the hot and humid weather. Can't stand the stuff myself. Plus, it brings on my asthma coughing. End up wanting to spend all my time indoors. hahaha
Monica - Thanks for the welcome back. It helps to have friends drop by.
Nancy - I do try to plan the protein. It is just frustrating when fruits, milk, cheese, etc. also have carbs in them. It adds up quickly.
Chum - I really watch the calories more. But I am diabetic and need to pay attention to carbs. Seems they are in EVERYTHING! I have my masters and am just taking more classes. I move on the pay scale for every 9 grad hours I earn. Plus I like to keep up with what is going on in education. Can't say this is the most thrilling class I have taken. But am hoping I can use it as I have some tough students next year. The class is on discipline.
Off to an OK start. Had whole wheat pancakes with no syrup this morning - SF jam instead. Making something with hamburger for lunch - our main summertime meal. Stormy weather again today. Tornadoes all over NE last night. Most of the weather missed us. Sure kept those forecasters anxious!! Windy and humid today.
Have the bathrooms cleaned and did summer school lessons with youngest. I need to work on my class, too. Oldest has a teacher from FFA visiting later today. Yesterday we worked on 4H much of the day. Tomorrow is full of appts. So will be running errands and such.
Busy., busy!!!
Yes, carbs are everywhere aren't they. It must be very hard sometimes.
Keep up the good work!!!
nancy - Hope you are enjoying your weekend
Calories and carbs look good today. Probably because I cannot eat much. Woke during the night dizzy. It continued into the morning. I am somewhat better now. Head still feels light, but at least I can sit up. I am thinking sinuses so took some Alavert. Have to leave in an hour for a wedding 2 hrs away. Hope I can stand the drive.
Oh my goodness, Susan, I also hope you can drive!!! Tell us how everything went.
monicapink 06-07-08, 08:16 PM Susan,
Do you think perhaps YOUR BLOOD SUGAR DROPPED? .. It' always a good idea to have a piece of HARD candy in your purse (or pocket) .. if you're at home have a small glass of orange juice .. wait 30 minutes and check your blood sugar .. Monica
Nancy - I think it was sinuses. Yesterday my ear bothered me. So probably just drainage. It sure was strange, though!
Monica - I wondered about Blood Sugar, but I think it was sinuses. I couldn't even think about eating for a while. I could not even sit up and was naucious when I did so.
Well, calories this morning and carbs look good. I plan to go for a walk 2x a day. That is the only way I can get my 2 miles in. With the tendonitis I had last summer, that is all I can handle to prevent it from returning. I would rather not go through that again.
Working on 4H projects today again. Hoping to finish sand paintings and help oldest do his Tshirt design and then start on his pillow. Slow going. I am going to work on my summer class for a while too. Have lessons done with youngest, so can spend some time on the computer myself.
Susan,
Sounds like a good day ahead of you. Glad you are feeling better.
Breaking up your walking is a great idea when you have some physical issues like that and probably nicer to have shorter walks with your hot weather this summer.
Keep making those good choices.
Nancy - Yes, now I just have to do it!!
Had a call from BC/BS nurse last night. It gave me some inspiration that I sorely needed. Tried out a new site: mypyramid.gov. You track food categories - sort of like the old WW I used many years ago. Have had trouble with it running slow, but tried it out and like it. Compared to fitday, too. Then I found another site that gives menus. I copied down 4 days and followed day 1 with some substituting pretty well. My carbs are really good today and so far calories are 889 with fitday and 823 with mypyramid. I will use the higher. My pyramid recommends an 1800 calorie diet. That is higher than the dietician had me on a couple years ago. I am going to try to NOT go over that!
Found a book on CD by a favorite author. So I have something to listen to while walking.
252 calories for breakfast and 50g carbs. For exchanges:
1 bread; 1/2 milk; 1 fruit
I feel I am making better choices using the exchanges. The pyramid site is working better, also. It was freezing and going so slow I was not sure I would continue using it.
Today, morning classes are done. :) Another 4H project started and about finished. :)
Morning walk in. :) Off to a good start with calories and carbs. :)
Weather is PERFECT! :) After all the storms and tornadoes in NE last night, I am counting my blessings.
Sounds like you are making today a good one. I am too, sure feels good doesn't it. No guilt just happy, happy!!! LOL
Keep it up.
Calories under 1000 with supper to go. Food choices still look good and have done only 1 healthy snack. Ballgame tonight. may take my little girl, Sophie, along (puppy) since it is a home game and I can run her home if she is a problem. Would walk with her while honey is getting the field ready. Did some weeding today. Garden is looking pretty good. Have two broken tomato plants. :( Could be from hail or strong winds recently.
Nancy - Thanks for dropping in! Yes, a good day does feel swell and motivates me to keep it that way!
How did the ball game go? Did Sophie enjoy it? LOL
My calories were a tiny bit over but I ended up doing 2 long walks today so not worried about the calories. Looks like we will both have a good day.
Off to take a shower now, get all this sweat washed off, lol.
Nancy - Miss Sophia did not do well. I am finding she is not a very social dog. :( I ended up having to take care of books, so oldest had to watch her. Well, we tried. We won the game 15-0.
Today is nice and cool. It actually got a bit chilly during the night. Feels good! I am off soon with honey to run some errands. He has to haul cattle to market so I am tagging along to save on gas. Won't have much time to dally, but I have a short list.
Will clean today, summer school lessons, 4H project (finish Bboard and sand painting).
No big plans for the weekend. My own family is getting together for a mass for my dad. Wish I could be there. Will have to just be in my thoughts.
Exercised for 48 min. last night on treadmill and bike. Calories after 2 meals today is 911 with 111 carbs (7.4) Had not weighed myself this summer and YIKES did so this morning. I have really put on more weight. Back to 220. What yo yo my life has become. Found myself wanting to snack a lot the last two days. Was not attending to my food exchanges. Need to remember those fruits.
Today water looks good and I plan to walk.
1606 calories for the day and 201 (13) carbs. Not as happy with the carbs. Plan to walk on treadmill tonight. Have a book on tape by a favorite author. Boys and Dad are camping. Just Sophie and me!
Breakfast: 271 calories 53g carbs (3.5) -1 bread; 1 milk, 1 fruit
Off to dentist appt. and errands. Still need to walk.
Hi Susan,
Lets us girls make this week a really good one. Sounds like you are doing great with your exercise and calories are good too. Now to just tweek things and we are on our way. Will be checking back!! LOL. Hope all goes well at the dentist.
chumlette 06-16-08, 02:18 PM Just thought I'd check on you and make sure you got through yesterday ok. It was hard for me but I survived. Hope you enjoyed the time with your girl.
Hope you have a good day today! Keep it up with the walking -- good job!
I don't know what happened but I lost my control with eating today. It was like I was watching a slow motion movie.
Chum - Thanks for thinking of me! I sent you a PM.
Nancy - I struggle daily! I know I have serious eating issues.
monicapink 06-16-08, 09:53 PM Dear Susan,
I read your post where you said "YOU STRUGGLE DAILY" .. I think we all can say that but I want to commend you FOR STAYING WITH IT .. it's so easy to GIVE UP (I know I've never said I GIVE UP .. but I have said "I'M SICK OF THIS WHOLE BUSINESS") .. we all have our moments .. but TOMORROW IS ANOTHER DAY .. AND YOU HAVE THE POWER AND THE ABILITY TO MAKE IT A GREAT DAY ..
Have you tried the Cole Slaw recipe as yet? .. Also if you're interested I posted some new items (in the Chat Forum) in "MONICA'S GROCERY LIST" .. and I have to tell you especially the SKINNY COW DIPPERS .. are terrific ..
Keep focusing on your goals .. YOU CAN AND WILL ACHIEVE WHATEVER GOALS YOU SET FOR YOURSELF. Monica
Monica - have not tried it yet, but did get the ingredients. Just has not worked into the menu, yet. I will check out the other recipes.
Well, I did not walk yesterday. The night before one leg really ached. I had trouble walking yesterday. I must have pulled something when pulling weeds or putting rock on some landscaping. Funny - I never felt anything at the time. It is still sore today - right by my BUTT!! So I am being careful. It is awful getting OLD!!
The new site I liked so much is finally working better. Now I can look at exchanges and try to eat healthier in making better choices.
Breakfast: 1 bread; 1 milk; 3/4 c. fruit; 2 c. coffee
Cleaning: Bathrooms and living room done. Plan to "spring clean" my bathroom.
School: Finish the last requirement and my class will be done!!
outside: rained late afternoon yesterday, so flowers should be OK. Too muddy to weed. and too breezy to spray. Just check things over, I guess.
Monica - I made the cole slaw. I think everyone liked it. I did! My youngest, of course, could not eat the raisins. I also wrote down some foods I am going to look for from your grocery list site. Thanks for that info.
I need to do better with healthier choices. I am sabotaging my hard work with stupid food choices!!! GRRRRR.
I need to do better with healthier choices. I am sabotaging my hard work with stupid food choices!!! GRRRRR.
Oh man, I can understand that. I still think it is just teaching ourselves new habits. It just takes time and persistence and it is hard for sure.
millie47 06-21-08, 09:55 PM Hi Susan,
Wow I am very proud of you for hanging in there and to keep working at the weight loss! We can never give up.
I see you have been busy as always.
I sure needed to come back and get help from my DT family.
Keep up the good work!
....Hugs, Millie
Nancy - I just get so upset with my lack of will power. I have to get control of my eating!
Millie - Welcome back! I have missed you!!! from the sound of things from my family, it has been cool so far in MI.
well my calories are 280 - 301 depending on which program I use. and 42g of carbs. Off to a good start. I am still having trouble with the pyramid site. I wish it would work right all the time as it was very motivational for me and it set personal goals.
I got a work out in the garden today with the hoe and rake. I plan to mow later. Will be a warm one today. Oldest is working double shift, husband will be in the fields. I need to complete a few things around the house. I did not do much yesterday. The guys were gone and I felt lazy.
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
After lunch (dinner) I have 986 calories with 138g carbs. I have 1 protein exchange, 1 bread, 2 milk, and 1 1/2 veg. left. Not sure what I can do with that. I may have cereal. HMMMM! I need a nap. The mowing made me sleepy!
Susan, glad you had some time to yourself yesterday. I always appreciate getting the house to myself, lol, it just doesn't happen very often. I never got to experience sending the kids off to school everyday, they were all, always home. Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.
millie47 06-22-08, 09:21 PM Hey Susan,
Wow looks like you had a good day, good for you! I bet you burned some calories working in the garden.
Thank's so much for the welcome back! I have missed being here! I now know I can not do this without my DT family!
Hope you have another great day!
....Hugs, Millie
Nancy - It is nice to have the house to myself once in a while. But it is awfully quiet - too quiet sometimes.
Millie - You are so good about visiting so many people here and encouraging them. I know I appreciate your support.
Well, this morning I woke up and walked. Forgot to set my stop watch, but know I walked at LEAST 30 min. which was my goal. Not moving too fast, but at least moving.
Had cereal, milk, and coffee for breakfast - 217 calories and 34g of carbs. Took my meds and am starting on my first 24 oz. of water.
Youngest is done with school work and am now helping oldest with 4H. Nice day out this morning. Worked on cutting down some bushes yesterday and let the heat get to me. I was not worth much last night. Will need to watch that today. Need to haul those branches away.
Game tonight for youngest. Have one more make up game and then hopefully done. Tournaments next Sunday and Monday. Glad to end the season. Too much trouble with all this rain. But, boy do my flowers look nice.
Ended up under 1600 calories for the day - YES!!
Water - low
Did not walk tonight - ballgame - we won!! :)
Sophie goes in for surgery Tuesday. :(
millie47 06-24-08, 12:59 AM Hey susan,
Well congrats on the ball game win!
Ok Who is Sophie and why is she having surgery???
I know I have been gone a while and my memory is not very good any more.
Wow That is great you get up and take your walk early. That is a great time for walking. You did GREAT with the calories today, good for you! It really makes us feel good when when do our healthy eating! keep up the great work Lady!
...Hugs, Millie
Millie - Sophie is my ShiPoo (puppy) and she is getting "fixed." We are just having a hard time with having her gone over 24 hours. Are we saps or what!!???
I did not do as well today. Went shopping. I was upset and decided to just get out for a while. I waited too long to eat and my sugar got low. Of course everything I bought was sugar free. I forgot to restock my purse. Anyway, I had to eat a sugar donut. I stopped later for a chicken wrap at Wendy's. Have to check the calories on that. It was delish and small. I am hoping the calories reflect that!! I bought some ice cream treats I can have without feeling guilty. I love ice cream in the summertime. I also bought my first ipod. My oldest bought one. I had been thinking of it for a LONG time. So I just finished downloading some songs. I will have to try it out.
monicapink 06-24-08, 07:46 PM Hi Susan,
I don't know if YOU'VE TRIED the Weight Watcher's Ice Cream .. or tried the HEALTHY CHOICE Ice Creams (especially the Mocha Bar and the Ice Cream Sandwich) THEY ARE ALL RELATIVELY LOW in sugar (grams) ...
Just a suggestion BUT ALWAYS carry HARD CANDY or GLUCOSE TABLETS with you; when I've had a SUDDEN DROP OF SUGAR and by sucking on a hard candy relatively within minutes the sugar goes .. also another suggestion CHECK TO SEE HOW MUCH THE SUGARS HAVE DROPPED .. and check your sugars again in 30 minutes ..
Don't  the day .. because TOMORROW YOU WILL DEFINITELY DO BETTER .. take care of yourself .. have and make it a great day. Monica
millie47 06-24-08, 09:35 PM Hi Susan,
Hey we all have bad days, as you know just move on to the next day and don't look back.
Oh more pooch. I know what you mean I have a shcnazer and she has to go next month to get fixed, poor baby, her name is Miss Daisy, lol.
I here MI. is going to get warm Thursday. We have had such cool weather so far. We did have one week that was hot, but that's it.
Have a great day Tomorrow!
....Hugs, Millie
Congrats on getting yourself an iPod, Susan. They are terrific and don't forget, they also have a stopwatch on them so you can time your walks. I do it all the time.
Keep making those good choices.
Monica - I know I need to be better prepared. I really had a rough day that day. I was upset on top of it all. I almost left my purse in a shopping cart. Twice I have found and turned in purses left there. I could never understand how anyone could be so idiotic to do that - well, I eat my words!!! Fortunately a lady saw it and called my attention to it. WHEW!!!
I bought the Blue Bunny ice cream with no sugar added. I also bought their sugar free ice cream bars. I cannot find a lot of the WW products you mention. I keep looking, too.
Calories after lunch (main meal) 871 112g carbs (7.46 servings)
Have 1.5 bread; 1.25 veg.; 1.5 c fruit; 2.25 c. milk; 3 oz meat left for the day.
only 24 oz. of water - get drinking!!
Did not walk this morning due to muddy roads. Need to get on the treadmill.
Cleaned bathrooms. Helped youngest with summer school work and read with him.
2 loads of laundry.
Sounds like a good day happening for you so far Susan. Keep up the good work.
millie47 06-27-08, 10:30 PM Hi Susan,
Looks like your day is going better today. That's great!
Let me know how you like that ice - cream, I have heard it is good.I too buy some of the Ww Meals, most of them are really good. I buy them now due to I am the only one here so it is just easer than cooking at times. But I do add my own veggies to them and sometimes my rice. I don't always like the veggies that are in there. Also I have like two or three severing of veggies to help fill me up, so I feel full, then don't need much potato or rice or noodles, lol.
Keep up the great work, you will get there!
....Hugs, Millie
Nancy - Do do well most of the day. It is the evenings that kill me.
Millie - I have been trying to eat salads to fill up also. It helped last night when we had pizza. I was not tempted to eat more.
Well today I walked only 20 min. Really windy. Cooler, though, so we can have some windows open. I am going out soon to hoe. Took oldest in to practice drive before he connects with instructor. He is nervous as this is test day. I cannot believe how little they practice driving.
Well, I am making good progress on a school project. I have finished unit 2. I would like to get one more done before school begins. I need to get a couple things at school to incorporate, yet.
Youngest is bored. Guess we will do a 4H project - his shirt.
1540 calories and 13 carbs - one serving over. Low on protein %. Drank more water today. :)
millie47 06-28-08, 10:44 PM hey Susan,
How did the hoeing go? That great eating the salad with the pizza, it sure does help to fill us.
Oh so you will soon have a children driving what fun, lol. No most do very well with it. But then they want to us the car all the time.
hey I think 20 mintues of walking is good, when it is wet outside.
Have a great sunday!

millie47 07-05-08, 01:25 AM Hi Susan,
yep those over eating days are the pits. I think that is one of the hardes things to learn on this journey is when you get off the path to get right back on them, guess that's they call it a life stlye change,
You did great today, also got in the exercise, good for you. That is one I am still working on, just not getting enough of it.
have a great Saturday!
...Hugs, Millie

Did not walk this morning due to wind. So need to do that in some capacity. Started off with egg subst and toast to cut some carbs. Will take youngest to the park today - still celebrating 125 years. He did not get to play any games yesterday. Supposed to be hot, though. Maybe with the wind it won't be so bad.
Hey Susan,
Sounds like you are all having some fun there.
I have been struggling of late also. I think my worst thing is the evening eating. I remember when I was doing good that I would have those urges to eat but would just refuse them or would have tea or something. I need to get conrol of that again. There is always something to improve.
Hang in there.
Susan, your stats for the last couple of days look very good!!!
OH, how is Sophie doing after her little surgery?
Hope you all have a fun day today.
millie47 07-05-08, 10:39 PM Hi susan,
You are so right Hoilday's are rough to stick with eating right. So don't feel bad lots of us do that. But sounds like you are still doing good and you waited until you got home to eat!!! WAy To Go!
Susan, you have trouble with your knee's also??! What is going on with your's? You know all about my great knee's,lol.
Hope it was not as hot for you with the wind blowing some.
keep up the great work!
...Hugs, Millie
Nancy - Sophie is doing much better. She has her spunk back this week and is more playful. She enjoys having us around ALL day. It will be hard to leave her when school begins. Love your avatar. you always have the coolest ones!!
Millie - I still struggle evenings. Everyone eats at different times due to work. I smell the food cooking - ARGH!! I have quite the snackers and bottomless stomachs with some of my guys. Of course I cannot eat like that. It is hard to be around all that food!! I have not walked to last couple of mornings due to wind and schedule. I NEED to get moving. I don't have serious knee problems yet, but will if I don't lose some weight. I was on TV that losing 1 lb. releases 4 lbs. of pressure o the knees.

Susan,
Wow, 1 pound relieves by 4 pounds of pressure, that is pretty amazing. Makes each pound lost well worth it!!!
Hope we do good this week.
millie47 07-06-08, 10:50 PM Hi Susan,
That is true about one pound is like taking 4 pounds off the knee. The ortho. Dr. told me that years ago! No wonder my poor knee's are in the shape they are, lol. But you are right the weight makes it worst and as we age is sure not good. You will get there. You never give up tring, because one day we may just do it!!!!
It is hard to be around all that food. I had to ask my guys to not bring somethings in the house or if they did not to let me see it or know, lol. But it sure has helped.
We will get there! Have a GREAT Monday!
...Hugs, Millie
Hey Susan,
Tess does that at her house. She actually has her hubby and son hide things, especially chocolate, I think. And she has done great and is maintaining. We have to do whatever works for us, right? RIGHT!!! :)

Hey Susan,
I like how you list your goals and then list in brackets how you are doing with them that day. Good system.
millie47 07-09-08, 05:37 PM Hi Susan,
Looks like you are setting some good goals. I think you will do good with them.
I miss seeing you on line, so you must be staying busy!
keep up the good work! Never give up.
....Hugs, Millie
Nancy - posting those helps me see what I can do with the rest of my day. Sometimes it works.
Millie - have been busy with 4H. Hopefully I will have some time, now.
Monica - I am not as diligent as you are with how I do - you are truly a role model. My intentions are good. Thanks for checking in on me.
Tuesday was 4H ALL DAY!!!! Oldest made boughten cookie dough and from scratch for cost comparison, coffee cake, and bread machine banana bread. Youngest made peanut butter cookies and muffins. So I munched a lot and skipped supper. Not a healthy day. I did walk last night.
Today was the last day for entries. Oldest got reserve grand champion on his night stand - the one we argued and argued about as I told him he WAS going to take it. Now he sees the wisdom of my ways. Love when that works out!! Both boys did well and enjoyed interviewing with the judges. This is our last year, so glad they were able to get done what they did. I came home and crashed! TIRED!!! worked at school a bit this morning and had buffet for lunch - not a good thing. It is a place we rarely go to, luckily!!!
Need to get back on track and get moving. Rained today again. Will these roads ever dry up for walking???

Had planned to work at school for a while, but the morning is passing away. Made a BIG breakfast for the guys. Will eat lighter for lunch. DH and YS go to a ball party this evening with hot dogs and swimming. OS is babysitting and later takes his driving test. So Sophie and I are alone much of the day. I plan to clean. Going to be hot, so not sure about outside. Really need to mow.
millie47 07-10-08, 11:50 PM Hi Susan,
Wow you have been busy! Glad the 4h is done. Congrats to your son! It is nice when they listen to mom, lol.
Don't you just love it when one of the kids get to start driving. I sure am glad aLL OF my kids are done with it and have there own cars now, they don't ask to use mine, lol.
keep working on your goals you will get there, we can never give up tring. Hope you get to walk soon! It is raining here now, I hear the muggy heat will be back by tomorrow.

Hey Susan, those goals are looking pretty good!!! Sorry you have it so hot right now, yuck. It is actually pretty cold here, brrr, lol. But I am trying not to complain because I know that hot will be back and I will complain then, lol.
Keep making those good choices(no more 4H, hallelujah!!!).
Not tracking today. Have been down ALL day with a sinus headache. ARRRGGG!
Millie - I am on pins and needles with the driving. He did pass his final test and was feeling pretty chipper last night.
Nancy - we do have wind today, so the heat is somewhat tolerable. I have been inside all day due to a headache. I did slip out for a moment to check on some new cement work.
Susan,
So sorry that you have a sinus headache, those are horrible. Hope you are feeling better soon. Take care of yourself!!!
Amarantha 07-12-08, 12:18 PM Hello! :) I like the way you've listed your goals in one easy to see place. You are doing great. Sorry you have a sinus headache. Feel better and have a good week ahead.
Still groggy today - sinus meds!! Not doing much. I did clean the floors and move some furniture in the LR. Read and relaxed and snoozed. Nice day to have the house open.
Amarantha - Thanks for stopping by. Those goals help to keep me in check - most of the time.
Nancy - Thanks for the visit. I seem to be getting more and more of these sinus episodes. Something to ask the Dr. at the next visit. At least I was off work. They are a bummer when I have to also deal with 25 students all day! I did a lot of sleeping.

Boys went to the pool late afternoon. They packed a supper of sandwiches so they could stay longer with the late start. Dehydrating onions - second batch. Canned 6 quarts of beans yesterday. Told the boys to pick peas today and they came in with more beans. Will have to have a lesson tonight on veg. identification!!!! Guess I will freeze these as there is probably only 2 quarts.
Worked very hard on food choices today and eating healthy. Of course evenings are hardest and am sure two hungry boys will be coming home.
