Hi!

My name is Becky, I'm 26 years old and getting married on August 16th. I have been procrastinating and procrastinating losing the last of my weight, so I thought I'd start a journal to help me keep motivated!

My starting weight 3 years ago was just over 180lbs when I started the South Beach diet. I managed to lose 30lbs in 3 months, then sort of plateaued for about a year, then lost another 15. In the last year I've put about 10 lbs back on due to being lazy and eating VERY unhealthily :(. I'm now down to the wire, and would like to lose 10-15lbs by my wedding day, which I *know* I can do, as I've done it before! It's just a matter of getting off my butt!!

My starting weight as of today is 145.6 lbs. I do like to weigh myself everyday, because when I'm religiously following SBD I see a loss everyday, even if it's 0.1lbs, and that keeps me motivated!

Here is the first goal I'm setting out to accomplish:

Monday June 9 - 141lbs ( I'm pretty bloated at the moment so I know I'll see some water weight gone by then!)

My current measurements:

Waist: 33.5"
Hips: 40"

Thanks for the encouragement! I'll have to check out the exercise minutes group for sure.

So my weigh-in this morning was 144.6lbs. Already starting to see that water weight fall away! I also measured my waist again as I had measured it at the end of the day yesterday, instead of in the morning when do my weigh-in. I'm going to use this new measurement as my starting point.

Waist: 32"
Hips: 40" (same)

Welcome to DT, Becky! My fellow fall bride! I am getting married on October 4, so I know what you are deling with about getting rid of these pounds.

Congrats on 180 lbs gone! That is awesome!

How are you doing it this time? Back to South Beach, or are you doing something different? I know it helps me to track what I do, what I eat online, then I can look back and see what might have caused a gain or even helped with a loss. I am a daily weigher as well, it really does keep me focused.

How is all the planning coming along?

Can't wait to hear more!

Hi ya! Welcome to DT. Congrats on the past weight loss success of 35.4 pounds. You are so going to reach your goal weight before that wedding and look just gorgeous! You can do it and well as you said you have done it before so you can certainly do it again. 30 pounds in 3 months is wonderful! These last 14 pounds will be a breeze. Keep it up.

sunymiss - Thanks :) I wish I had the motivation now that I did in the beginning!

Melissa - Yes, I'm going back to South Beach. I've tried everything out there, and South Beach is only thing I KNOW works for me, without fail. I've learned what modifications I can make without compromising weight loss too. I'm also exercising, but I find that eating low-carb really reduces my energy levels.

The wedding planning is getting a little more stressful now, as I'm now on to all the little details. I always feel like I'm forgetting something! I'm also starting a new job on June 16th (I just graduated as a Medical Lab Technologist), and that's a huge distraction as well.

Today for food I had:

Breakfast: 2 boiled eggs
Snack: Cheese string
Lunch: 1 cup refried beans, 1 tbsp sour cream, 1 tbsp grated part-skim mozzarella, 2 cups lettuce, 1/2 cup skim milk
Snack: Cheese string, 2 sugar-free fudgsicles
Dinner: 2 turkey sausages, 1 slice Kraft fat-free cheese, 1 cup steamed broccoli
Snack: 1 cup fat-free plain yogurt, 1 sugar-free fudgsicle

I need to get more vegetables in for sure... not a big fan.... and less fudgsicles!

Exercise:

20 minutes elliptical trainer (260 cal)
Upper body - chest, shoulders, back, biceps, triceps
Lower back, abdominals

Total time @ gym: 75 mins

Also went for a tan!

YAYYY GO SISTER GO!
As soon as I get home (2 weeks from today) we will hit the gym HARD everyday.
And we should do at least 1 class a week. It spices things up and makes it more fun!
I have an idea - We should buy tons of veggies like zucchini, mushrooms, carrots, broccoli etc. and cut them up and freeze them in little zip lock bags for when we are making dinner so we just throw them into the pan since they are in the perfect portions!!!

So the mystery is solved, the r?phillips gals are sisters! I was confused yesterday. I know I posted here a couple of days ago, then came across Rachael (??)'s journal yesterday, with nearly the same screenname!

It's great that you are doing this together! It's always easier with someone right there with you!

The veggie idea is a great one, I try to do that with many of my "bulk" freezer items, measure out a serving and bag it all up. Then I don't have to defrost the whole thing in order to get what I need, it's already done.

Have a great Wednesday!

That's a good idea about the vegetables, I might start that right now!

I've decided not to weigh myself again until Friday, it's that time of the month and I feel disgustingly bloated :-&. Should be gone in a few days though, and maybe I'll see a nice drop on the scale!

I keep looking at my wedding dress for motivation, but it's kind of depressing me, I feel like I won't be able to lose the weight I want :( I think it's the PMS kicking in!

Weight today:

143.1lbs

Today was my cheat day so I obviously didn't eat well at all, and I'm not going to weigh myself tomorrow because I know I'll be bloated and I don't want to get discouraged.

We got the Wii Fit today! I did 20 minutes on it - the yoga positions are surprisingly difficult! I was definitely sweating by the end.

I also have a softball tournament this weekend so I'll definitely be getting some exercise - 3 games tomorrow and at least 1 on Sunday. I just have to make sure I stick to eating well!
