Hi,

My name is Rachel and I am trying to lose 10 pounds and tone up before my trip to Jamaica and my sister's wedding which is in less than two months!
They always say the last 10 pounds is the hardest to lose and I hope I can reach my goal!

Right now I weigh 131 and my goal is 121 or 122. I'm 5'4 so I'm pretty slim, however whenever I gain weight I gain it in my face and arms which is the worst! I have been working out for a week straight and have seen results. My face is skinnier and I lost around 2 pounds (I was around 133 before)
My diet is simply healthy eating - low carbs, lots of vegetables, fruits and protein and water ofcourse!

So I will continue to blog about my progress - I hope it will motivate me. I would love to hear stories about the hardest it has been to lose weight for anybody!

Today I ate:

One bowl cereal
1 apple
1 squiggles
1 cheese and 4 crackers
1 all bran bar
1 curried chicken breast with chick peas:o

Hi! Welcome to DietTalk!

Sounds like you are off to a great start! 2 pounds a week will get to you to your goal well before your trip.

Have to ask...what are squiggles?
It doesn't look like you are eating much. Are you counting calories or anything? With working out everyday, you have to make sure you are giving your body enough fuel. Fitday.com is a good site to use to keep track of calories, fiber, fat...all that good stuff.

What kinds of workouts do you do?

Losing weight is not an easy thing. I am a slow loser. It's probably mostly mental, but I tend to do well for a while, then plateau for a long time. But, over the last 18 months or so I have lost 36 pounds, so that is pretty great. I will take it! I am getting married in 4 months, and would love to lose another 40 by then, but I know that any amount I get off will be great.
There are a lot of great success stories around here!

Hope to hear more soon!

Welcome to Diettalk and the journal forum -

A trip to Jamaica and a sister's wedding are providing you with lots of incentive to lose weight. The best of luck to you.

As you know, losing weight is not all that easy but it can be done. Just stick to your plan day by day, and enjoy the summer.

Squiggles are like fruit to go...but they make them in a squiggle shape. They are made by fruit source. I got a pack of 6 at Giant Tiger for 99cents.

Today I didn't do to well eating wise - but I guess I'll have to make up for it this week!

I ate:
A bowl of cereal (Just Right) for breakfast.
A bagel with cheese, tomato and salami for lunch, along with an 100 calorie pack of baked cheetos
An apple
A banana
1/4 pack of KD with 1 hotdog

WOW I ATE ALOT

But I did work out: 30 mins cardio, 15 mins legs, 10 mins abs.

Normally my workouts last longer - I do at least 30 minutes cardio on elyptical or tread mill, arms or legs depending on the day, obliques and lower back, abs, and 3 minutes of rowing!

On Fridays I do 1 hr 15mins of Aerobics Bootcamp which is AMAZING!!!!!

Squiggles sound fun:)

Your menu sounds good, although it doesn't seem like a lot to me! :)
Oscar Meyer has 98% fat free hot dogs, I LOVE them, I don't taste any difference between them and regular dogs, but they are guilt free. I can have 2 of them for the same or less calories than a regular hot dog. I have also found "light" hot dog buns. There are ways around everything!

I need to find these baked cheetos. I have missed them, although I did splurge and have a little snack bag of doritos yesterday.

Are you going to Jamaica for vacation or is the wedding there? That's great motivation to lose those extra pounds!

Happy Hump day!
