Well, here I am on my 4th account (I think ) on DT. I was around 23 when I first came to DT; I am now 29, soon to be 30. My weight is the same, or close too. Over the years I have bounced around between 160 - 195 and am currently 185. When I first came here 160 was too heavy as I wanted to weigh my previous, but brief, weight of 130. Now, I would be a very happy women to weigh 160. Now am I settling for heavier because I am older or is that healthier...I don't really know. I have a scale that measures BMI so I think I am going base my goals on that number as well. I noticed that it is never the same reading twice, so it will have to be taken with a grain of salt, but my finally goal will be a BMI, not weight, as I don't care how much I weigh, as long as my BMI is in a healthy range. Now I am 5'6" and the scale shows a healthy range of 18.5 -24.9 %. My goal is to reach the high end of that range - 24.9 %. This may take quite some time, as I currently have a BMI of 40%. I think I might have a fairly petite frame hidden underneath all this excess fat, looking forward to finding out.

So, I turn 30 on October 17, so I have 4 1/2 months until this time. For simplicity sake and my uncertainity of how to convert pds lost to bmi??? I am going to make a size goal. I am currently wearing a size 14 (snuggly) and 16. My bday goal is to comfortably wear a size 12. Just did some reading apparently bmi of 24 is 150 pds.

Ok, so here it is....

October 17, 2008 Goal
Weight: 170 pds
BMI: 34%
Size: 12

Ultimate Goal
Weight: 150 pds
BMI: 24%
Size: 10

I know I can do this.

Hi! In the challenges forum, there is a BMI challenge you could join! There is a link to a great website that has a lbs to BMI score calculator, just enter your height and weight. That might be the tool you are looking for.

What are your plans for getting rid of this weight?

Here's the BMI Challenge (http://www.diettalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=63225)
and here's the BMI calculator (http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/).

Quick check in, feeling discouraged. Have not been making the best choices. I think I need a little bit more of a guideline to follow. Late, need to go to sleep, have to start working out a plan.

Thanks for visiting my journal and welcoming me ~ Cathy, Mel, and Angel!
