Amarantha 06-10-08, 11:09 AM Hi, Ido! Great idea for a journal and good resolutions for today!
I'm doing three day at a time challenges in my current journal. It does help to take things in small chunks, doesn't it.
Have a great day.
JoThrive 06-10-08, 11:26 AM Good for you! Just take it easy, make small changes in your life, and you will see results. Best of luck to you.
Thanks for visiting Amarantha and Jothrive.....So nice of you.
Ysterdays challenge - :D Hurray....
I did it.....
Second day .....Same as yesterday.....
Reporting tomorrow...
Hi Ido,
I like the daily approach! As we make small changes they will add up to a healthy lifestyle. It helps us to break down old, unhealthy habits and work on building new, healthy habits. I started my weight loss journey this week and my first time ever journal. Looks like you are off to a great start!

Yesterday was my cheating day. I have to continue today.
Today made a partial success. That is with regard to water intake...
i NEED SOMETHING INTERESTING.. ANY SUGGESTIONS??????
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.
Suddenly I felt a kind of heaviness with my body and got worried. Sunday went on very well. Morning went for a walk with my husband and evening with my mom. Mom will be with me till friday. It's quite enjoyable.
To my highest surprise , today morning also did walking for 20 minutes. Not bad isn't it????
Today : Water intake should be 1.5 Ltrs.
Ido,
How are you feeling? Have you ever had the heaviness before? If you have it again mention it to your doctor. Congrats on the walking! That is a great form of exercise!
Suggestions.....uummm I could use a few of those myself! I always do better if I plan my food for the day and only fix enough for a sensible portion. Usually a smaller plate probably helps us to feel like we are eating more than we are so that we feel less deprived. I do better when I plan my cheat day so that it does not become a free for all. In regards to my trigger foods...the food that is hard to stop eating....I will only buy a single serving. I do better if I get an ice cream cone out rather than keep ice cream in the freezer. I can't eat when isn't in the house.
Hey....
I did go for 20 minute morning walk .
Thanks CJ for your kind enquiries. After that day didn't feel the heaviness.
Yes. I do agree CJ. Couldn't stop myself eating if I see some sweets infront of me. Past one week the same thing was happening. Was consuming more and it's quite irresistable.
Planning for 25 Burpees tomorrow. Water consumption same.
Amarantha 06-18-08, 08:15 AM Hi, Ido! You are doing great. Glad you are enjoyin' your mom's visit!
Not sure what you mean by "heaviness" but please don't ignore any physical sensations you haven't experienced before when exercising. Just be sure to talk to your doctor about it and apologies for giving advice.
Re water, there are some good zero calorie electrolyte powders available. I've recently become aware that I needed to watch electrolytes more carefully when exercising outdoors in the heat and these are ideal and taste good.
See you. Have a good day.
Congrats on your walk! Walking not only burns calories, but it speeds up your metabolism. I've got acute Achilles tendonitis in both ankles right now so I haven't been able to walk. Before that, I walked quite a bit. I like Amarantha's idea about the electrolyte drinks. My son is active in sports and he drinks them constantly when he is playing sports or working outside as a golf caddy.
Ido, Right now I do not have any willpower or discipline so I have to make sure my environment does not feed into my dependance on food. Until I can control my emotional eating a bit better, I cannot have my trigger foods in the house. If my trigger foods are sitting around it is a matter of not if, but when I eat them.
Amarantha : Thanks for the visit and advice. So excited to see you here.
I am having hypertension and taking medcines regularly. Once got much giddiness and vomitting after consuming electrolyte. My husband said , it might be due to the salt composition. But when Ienquired my doctor, she said it was not because of that. ...Anyhow i'll search for the same which you have told me. It is very nice of you :flower:
CJL : Sorry for the ankles. do you get pain always? I'm sorry ..I'm very illiterate about the disease.
You have got a real skill of writing. My Kudos :cheer::cheer: to you CJ.
Have a nice day both of you.
I didn't walk today. got a bit tensed with my son while teaching him. I am unaware of the technology of creating rather making him to sit for his studies. He shows no interest especially in maths..
Please suggest me anything about this.
thinking of biking tomorrow.
Ido,
I see you were either up late or got up early! My ankles and the bottoms of my feet are basically sore. They get worse if I stand or walk alot. Hopefully I will gradually get better. Thank you for your kind words and wishes!
So how old is your son? What are you working on in math?
CJ,
He is 10 years old. Not interested in by-hearting tables -add, subtract, x ...
If u ask what is 8+1...he does count his finger and says the answer. It is quite irritating and I just lose my temper.
I didn't keep the steps as well as didn't drink the water ...If I don't log into DT. I don't commit myself...X-(X-(X-(
Ido, It sounds like he depends on his fingers because he hasn't found another way that he feels comfortable with. I read an article that talks about how children rely on finger counting as something concrete as opposed to relying on other methods that are more abstract. Some children do not have confidence in their abilities and suffer from math anxiety and or frustration. In the article the students were exposed to alternative ways to count using flash cards, math bingo, dice, audio tapes, etc. The purpose of using the alternative methods was to show the student that they could develop the ability to count abstactly in their head and gain confidence. I bet there are some online resources that might outline specific techniques that would help your son. Good luck!
CJ..
I forgot to ask you. I heard that there are special type of shoes for these kind of problems. Didn't they work for you?
I have orthodic insoles and heel lifts in my shoes. I have less pain in my Achilles tendons, but I can't seem to get the inflammation out of my heels.
I am improving....but it is just so darn slow.
I didn't do anything for keeping me in track.
Today planning for dumbell session.:D . Spending 1/2 hour a day for exercise is becoming difficult for me. Not doing food control , no walking.... so many nos are increasing in the list.
Every day is Perfect day if everthing goes well. What to do?
