Well here I am back to were I started many years ago. About 4 years ago I had lost 149 pounds and have now gained it all back plus some ,what's new.
I really need to make this stick this time and really make it a life style change. I know only I can do this, but I do need the support from my DT friends, it sure helped before.
I am up to 343 pounds. more than what I weighted the last time when I started.
I am having such a hard time with my new knee replacement and the other knee that needs replaced is really bad. I know I need to exercise and will do my best and start out slow. One day @ a time!!!
I hope to make new friends here and catch some of my old friends, I am hoping they are still around!
I have had lots of health trouble this past year and it would be a lot better if I can lose this weight. I am not even asking to be skinny just down under 200 would be great!!!!
So I started my healthy eating on Tuesday and hope to lose some every week. I will weigh in on Tuesdays! So say a prayer I can do this and stick with it!

Millie, Looks like you are off to a great start on your weight loss journey! Start off slow on the exercise and listen to your body. You can gradually build up over time. Each healthy step you take with your diet and exercise brings you one step closer to reaching your goal.

How long has your husband been in Iraq? That must be so difficult! I know you must cherish when you are able to hear his sweet voice.

Millie, you sound very positive and are off to a great start. I wondered if your husband was still in Iraq. Glad you were able to talk to him. And I see you are so busy cleaning. I should do the same. You food choices look great. Grilled cheese is a favorite that I don't think of often enough. When are you having the other knee replacement? Take care and have a great day!!

I had another GREAT day on my journay.I eat very healthy again, lol. I started back on my weight loss a week ago. So this morning I weight myself and
LOST 4 POUNDS!!! So that was a great way to start my day off! Dr Booth says I should lose a lot the first few months do to all the water weight I have, he says it's at least 20 or more pounds. My feet and ankels are very swollen, so I sure will be happy if I get rid of the water weight. he thinks it is coming from my new heart meds. In Oct. I was in the hosptial for heart, my rhythim was all out of wack. They almost had to shock me. I now have AFIB and take meds to keep my heart rhythim on the right track. AFIB can cause a stroke. Two days after I got out of hosptail I went back into AFIB then had a small (TIA)stroke. So I do have some trouble with my memory at times, so If I forget something just remind me or over look it,lol.

Food for the day!
coffee & tea = 100
ornage = 80
grapes 60
2 diet bread,2 ham
and tomato = 130
rice 1. c. = 200
pork = 250
2 c. green beans and
cabbage = 150
Pop corn =200
1 d.bread 1 ham = 130
Total = 1,300 calories
I rode my bike 5 mintues again.

My knees did bother me a lot last night so did not sleep as good, but I am still glad I did the bike!

Hi Cjl, You are right I do feel like I have a good start going, I just need to keep it going. But with my DT friends are here to help. Yep I will start out slow with the exercise and work my way up
Ban (hubby) will have been in Iraq now for 3 years. he is retired miltary, and now does back up securty for the ARMY. he was home in April and we went to Florida for 2 weeks and had a great time visting my family. He wanted me to see them again before I go totaly blind. So far I am just leaglly blind, I still have my center vision which is good so far.

Hi Susan,
I sure hope I can stay this positive, because it sure makes a differnce with staying on track. At times that can sure be hard to get.
I don't know yet when I will have my other knee replaced. Doc wants be to get off at least half before the surgery. Also I am messing up my new knee with all this weight, so I need to get my booty moving, lol.

Thank yall so much for your support, it really does help to keep me going! God bless everyone of you!
ok it is going on 1 am so better get to bed.

Millie, Congrats on having a great first week and losing four pounds! I remember once when I was losing weight, I lost 15 pounds before I lost any inches...that's how much water I had in me!

You will feel so much more comfortable when you get that fluid out of your
ankles and feet. I know I will feel better once I get some of my weight off. I can more better and faster.

So when will Ban be back again? I am glad you had a nice time in Florida.

What is your eye condition? I helped to establish an agency for the visually impaired in our area. We provide information and referral, life skills training, community education and support groups. Most of our clients have macular degeneration, but others have diabetic retinopathy, glacoma, retinal detachment, retinopathy of prematurity, vein occlusion, etc. My background is not in visual impairment, but the need and the opportunity to assist presented itself.

Hello! I remember you on here before and welcome back. I know you can do it. I have been on and off this journey several times and i just know this is the time i will do it and stick to it. Sometimes it takes people more than once to get it down path but eventually if its wanted badly enough it can be done. I watched my own sister last yr go from 220 to 125 pounds in less than a yr. She now looks fantastic.

Im glad to meet you and glad to see your doing so well. congrats on your 4 pounds lost :)

Hi eVERYONE,
Wow it is so nice to see so many wonderful friends here! You all mean so much to me!

I had another good day food wise. I had 1,370 calories. My friend Maxine came over to visit she stayed about 2 hours. I was going to get out and mowe the back yard, but my son Antonio said he would come over and do it. I had bought a riding lawn mower so I could do it my self. I still need to use the weed whacker but can not get the dumb thing to start, lol. Guess one of my other sons can do that also, grin.

Hi CJL, Thanks for the Congrats. I sure hope I do get rid of all this water weight. I am with you I should be able to move better, also will help with my knee's.
I loved reading your journal today, it really helps to keep me going also! love your way of thinking!
Ban says he will try to be home for Christmas, but not sure yet. if not it will be next spring or summer. I miss him a lot. jobs here in MI. are really bad, so many people are moving out of state.
I have Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP) I also have Macular Degeneration. The RP takes your peripheral vision slowly. The MD takes your center vision.I have 15 degrees of vision left, normal should be 150 -160 peripheral. That is great about you working with the visually impaired! I started using a red and white cane last summer, which was hard for me to do. I use it more to warn others I don't see good, also I was tripping a lot and the cane warns me when a hole or sidewalk is coming up. Most people think I should be total to use a cane, so I am having to explain to them there are only like 5% of blind people that are total. I am legally blind when I hit 20 degrees. Seeing you worked with low vision you most likely already know all of this, lol. Anyway RP kills the rods and cones in the retina.

Hi Prada,
Glad you found me! Thanks for the support. I do so hope I do it this time.

Hi Monica,Thanks for the support! I do so hope you are right and I will have learned from my mistakes! This time KEEP IT OFF!!!

JOJO, Thanks for your support!Yes one day at a time. I will sure stick around this time.

Hi Susan,
Thanks for the Congrats.I agree I think the weight loss will help a lot even if just for my poor knee's!!

Hi Sandy,
Thanks for coming to help support me. We can use all the help we can get! Thanks for the Congrats. I am sure hoping I learned my lesson this time, grin. I bet your sister looks great. together we can do this!

Hi Nancy, Thanks for the support and cheering me on! Yes you are right I will keep coming back even when I get to goal, or how bad I am doing.

Hey Amarntha,
I am not sure if I remember you, but you sound familiar. Do you live in the USA or over sea's?
Thank you very much for coming and help to support me!!! I hope we become good friends! I will go check out your journal, then it may come back to me.

Ok Well another day down and it was good now on to the next good day! Thanks everyone for being my friend!

Hello Millie! I cant even go near the grass. I have allergies to it and when its fresh cut i do suffer. This summer i am suffering more than usual so must be more pollen and stuff around.
Im sorry to hear about the RP but you sound so strong of a woman and you can do anything you set your mind too.
I think together on here, we can get to our goals. everyone here is such good friends and it does help. you have a great day :)

Hey there Miss Millie! Congrats on another day of healthy eating.

Btw regarding your eye problem I watched a new treatment for blind people the other day they have only done it on two people so far one had great results the other ok results. One girl had not seen since she was a child! I actually cried when I watched it. She could see. It was wonderful.

We have a dear friend who is blind and I am constantly looking at new studies that might help him. I hope that this treatment will pass the FDA and others can try it.
I missed the beginning of the show so I didn't get the name of the procedure.
Wouldn't that be a miracle. It just breaks my heart for people to not be able to do things that so many just take for granted.

Btw does it matter what size we post to you in? I think I asked that question before and you said it didn't but I didn't know if now since you've come back is it better for us to post larger or does your computer change the font for you? Tell us and we will all be more than happy to do whatever will make it easier for you to post or read our post.

Your such a blessing to have back! Have a blessed day and another successful week of losing.

Hi Everyone,
Ok well another day down and have done good with the calories again. I did not ride the bike yet due to cleaning the down stairs. My little fur babies (dogs) made a mess on the floor as it had been raining. I am tring to teach them that they have to let me wipe there feet before coming in.
Ok So my calories will be ( I still have to have my orange)
1,300 calories. So I say that is another great day.

Hi Sandy, My son Mario also has big time allergies. he has to stay away from grass, trees, leaves, flowers, peanut butter. He will break out in a rash and get all stuffed up!
I sure hope I can do anything when I set my mind to it, the promblem is I am a good one for saying well crap just forget it,lol. That gets me down the wrong path food wise anyway. As for my vision, in some ways I was happy to hear I did not have a brain tumor. I did not know for a long time I was losing my vision. For 6 years or so I keep telling my Dr eye I don't think I am seeing things like I should and I let him over look it. I guess there is times I need to stand up and say hay did you hear me!!! My family Dr and I thought I had a brain tumor, he sent me for a MRI. was always falling and triping. So I was happy Of not :ohaving anything wrong with the brain, lol. I still hold out hope I will not go total! The hard part also was having to give up driving last summer! I have always been Independent, I guess from Hubby Ban being in the miltary and we moved all over the State's and over sea's.
thanks for being here, together we will go down this path!

Hi Prada, They are coming out with a few promseing things and hope with in the next few years - 10 years they will have a cure or at least be able to stop it in the tracks, which would be great! I am sure hoping that it will work and I will be able to have it also. The RS DR keeps us up to date and some other sites they I work on for cures. So until then I am not going to let it get the best of me,lol. I do have my days at times, but it want get me anywhere to go oh poore me.
That is so sweet of you to look for studies for your friend.
You can post in any size as I do have a enlarger on my computer. And some day may have to get a screen reader, but i am hoping that is down the road a long ways!

Ok Well, I guess I will go read some other journals and maybe clean up stairs some.
They say we are going to get hot and muggy tomorrow, we will see, lol.
Have a Blessed day all!!!!!
....Hugs, Millie

Hey Millie,

Just peaking in to say hi and see how you are doing. Wow, 1300 is a pretty great number. I am shooting to stay below 1600 right now, and struggle often with that, lol. But hey, I used to struggle to stay below 2000 so have improved immensely. We just hang in there and keep trying and keep improving!!!

Dear Millie,

YOU ARE REALLY DOING IT .. if you have stayed at 1,300 that is REALLY QUITE SPECTACULAR .. just please REMEMBER don't GO BELOW 1,200 .. even if it means you HAVE TO EAT SOMETHING .. like a piece of fruit with some yogurt .. KEEP THOSE CALORIES ABOVE 1,200 ..

LOL I had to laugh when I read that you were training to wipe your dog's paws .. would you believe my mil used to do the same thing when they had dogs .. I never did that .. lol it was enough to bathe them .. especially Muffin (my cocker spaniel) getting her into the tub lol I felt I NEEDED :cheer2: and she would JUMP OUT of the tub and run into the grass area and ROLL OVER AND OVER .. lol she was really something else ..

I'm SO PLEASED FOR YOU .. you're GOING TO DO IT THIS TIME .. WE ALL KNOW IT .. have and make it a great evening. Monica

Hi Everyone,
I love saying this, lol. I had another good day food wise!!! I am even tring to do more work around the house inside and out to burn more calories, I say what ever works! I mowed the back yard today then had to take off the grass bages and empty them, that was a little rough for me, had to do it 2 times but i did it. Then was going to use the weed whacker but could not get it started, so called my oldest son Bert he came and did it for me. Worked on my flowers for a little while also. By the time I got in the house my knee's were hurting so I took some of my pain pills. But I still am glad I did it.

This may sound silly but I feel like I am starting to live again and have a life. I know I am going to hurt, but I have decide I am going to do it anyway. Also did two loads of clothes, that means I have to go up and down steps. Also rode the bike for 5 mintues, so I do feel like I burned a little calories, lol.

Calories should be if I don't have anything exart.
Calories ==== 1,390
low fat ==== 30 fat grams

Hi Nancy,
Well I did end up with 1,400 calories last night, wanted something to nibble on so had 100 caorie bag of pop-corn,FF,lol.
I think you are doing so wonderful, I belive you will get to your goal, and I hope I am right behind you!

Hi Moncia,
Oh yes I would never go below 1,200 calories. I ame for 1,200 - 1,600 calories a day. I am eating VERY Healthy!! Lots of fruit and veggies along with some meat and starch.
My new puppy Miss Daisy seemsto find the dirt outside when it is wet, then comes in and walk over my white tile floor, lol. Now my poodle is 7 years old and he never gets his feet dirty, he is a good boy, lol.

Hi Am,
I sure hope I I keep going down the right path food wise. I really need to get this weight off so I can move better and do more also to feel better. I have kind of been layed up for 2 years, So all I did today was a lot and it feels GREAT!!

Thanks everyone for all the support! It really helps me to be able to talk about weight loss to those that understands it.
Tomorrow I should have a busy day. My son Bert will be here to take me to the bank then shopping, I need to go to Sam's club and Meijer's ( its like a walmart) so I should get some walking in anyway.
have a wonderful one dear friends!!

Hello Millie! You are doing fantastic my friend. All that cleaning and yard work does burn calories. i love to clean because it makes me feel i am accomplishing something plus takes my mind off of food. How many doggies do you have? I have one male beagle named Luke. He is an indoor dog and doesnt go hunting, i just love the breed after growing up around beagles, though my dad took them hunting. My doggie is 4 yrs old. How many children do you have? I have 5 and one step daughter plus my grandbaby boy. Together we can do this. We are stronger than the food. (most times lol). I am tired of going down this same road, tired of being fat and tired of failing at this so this time we will do it. it is so good like you said to be able to talk to people who understand. Have a super weekend!

Hey sweetie I am so proud of you and for you. Your doing just wonderful with your healthy eating habits. Your going to have another big successful week next week too.

Your attitude is great regarding your health problems. I do believe that there will be a cure sooner than ten years. I am praying big time for one anyways.

Our friend has even traveled over seas to several different places for treatments I can't remember exactly what specific name his illness is at the moment as he has been this way for probably oh a good fifteen years of the twenty two years that I have known him maybe even a little longer.

I remember hugging him and for the first time and he laughed out loud and said you know I thought you were gorgeous until you got close enough to hug me! LOL He just cracked up laughing. He loves to tell jokes and he and my hubby are so funny together.

One day he asked me is my wife beautiful or what? I said yes she's very beautiful. He said really wow she must a got a makeover she didn't look like that when I married her. I have to say they are super super close and so in love. They are like grandparents to us. We just love them they are super fun. They have lived all over the world and are so cool for an older couple. They workout still everyday. They walk at the park she leads and he follows.

He tells us all the time go, live, breathe, see the world, do as much as you can, try almost everything once and help others as often as possible but by all means don't forget to invest! He is so funny. But he does mean it as well. That's how they have lived their lives. Great example.

Ok I totally just hijacked you. Sorry. Anyways sweetie I just pray for a cure and that you'll get to be the first one blessed with it. Have a great weekend.

Just keep stringing those good days together and you will achieve success. You are doing just great!

Regarding your visiion loss, I am having some of the same problems. What I have is age-related macular degeneration, and we discussed this some time ago. No question about it, it is difficult to deal with. But you and I will just have to keep encouraging each other!

Hi everyone,
Well I have added aonther good day (thank God)!
I know i HAVE lost a of lot of water weight, my ankels and feet are back to normal!!!!! It has been over two years since they looked like this. I quit taking my Oste. pill and I think that was making me hold way to much water. My Dr going to be happy when I tell him it was that pill. No I don't usally do that but i had been reading and was pretty sure it was that pill!
So I got on the scale again this morning and I lost 6 more POUNDS, I know it's water but that's ok. Now My shoes are to big, lollol.

I had a good day shopping with my son Bert, then we went out to lunch, (mom Payed). I stay right with my healty eating!!! I was so happy I was able to stick with it when I went out to eat. I feel like I am on cloud 9,lol.

Total for today 1,490 calories!!!!

Hi Susan, I bet I am not hear as active as you are. The last few years with knee replacement and heart trouble I just have not been doing much. I now do not work, and never thought i would say this but I miss working, lol!!!
Congrats on fineshing your graduate class! Sounds like you have a very busy life even during the summer.

hi Sandy,
Thanks, I just hope I can keep this feeling and really make a life style change this time. I have 2 small dogs, one is a 7 year old poodle and one is a 5 month old schanzer.
I have 3 sons, One is 37 years, One is 23 years, and one is 19 years old and 1 daughter 20 years old. I have one grandson that is 14 years old. Mario (19) is in college and just moved out this summer as he has a job in the town were he is going to school at.So I am now alone, lol. He comes home on weekends alot. He is about 1 1/2 hours away.
wow you have 5 children? How old are they and boys or girls? How old is your grandson?
I am with you about going down this road, I want to make it a change this time. We can with each others help!

Hi Prada,
Yep I think a lot of my health promlems are from my weight (not eyes). I will still need a knee replacement but by getting this weight off my new knee will last longer.
Your blind friend sounds like a cool guy.
I am with you on hoping for a cure, lol. Heck I would be happy if they came up with something to stop it in it's track!!!

Hey nancy,
I sure wish we could bottle this good feeling, we would be rich, lol!Of course we would make sure we had enough first, right?
thanks for the support!

Hi JoJo,
I am having a blast stringing these good days together! Of course I know I will have some rough days at times, so I hope I will be ready for them.

Hi, Millie!!! Thanks for your kind words on my journal and congrats on the latest pounds down!!! You are doing this! :cheer:

Re the pizza, I just put regular toppings on. I used full fat cheese and I made a sauce out of two tablespoons of tomato paste, a drop or two of water, Mrs. Dash garlic/herb flavor and a little Splenda because I like pizza sauce to be a tiny bit sweet. I put mushrooms on also and I baked in the toaster oven.

I kind of stole the tortilla crust idea from the Biggest Loser cookbook, although I'd seen the idea before. I loved it! Will have again tomorrow!

See you!

Millie - Glad to read that you are having such great days. Good for you. I need to get moving more and think about food less. The evenings kill me for some reason.

I have started a school project and am 1/3 done with it. It helps to keep me busy and will help a great deal during the school year to have it done.

Hoping you are enjoying your weekend.

Hi Millie,
Use that grid everyday....Ok end of lecture! It's great your swelling is down. That is not only good for your ankles but also your heart. I bet you do feel better! Congrats on the weight loss! When we are active in terms of doing positive and healthy things for ourselves I think it is so liberating. That new found sense of freedom feels so good. We can look forward to feeling even better and doing more as the scales moves downward.

The weight loss journey can be an exciting, adventurous trip. We just need to be prepared for the delays and detours due to construction of building our healthier lifestyle!

Hi Everyone,
It is so great to come here and see post from friends!
Yes another good day for the books, lol.
Total calories 1,490 , Not bad.

I have really been doing some thinking about the GREAT feeling I had the last time I lost 149 pounds. I remember waking up every morning and thinking oh yea I am losing weight. Then as I was getting out of the bed I noticed that my thighs looked so much smaller, morning after morning it seemed so great to see thinner thighs. I loved tring on smaller sizes of clothes, the feeling was just so great about so many different things with the weight loss! So I think everytime I want to not eat healthy I will remind my self of all these great feeling, so one day they will be back to stay!!!!! I remeber how happy I was those two years, it felt so Wonderful!!
Tomorrow My son Antonio will take me to the mall and I will try and walk the mall at least 2 times, which will be good for me seeing that I have not done much the last two years and with the knee's, I will take it slow, so not to over do and not want to go back. Also with using a low vision cane it will be easer in the mall walking. At home I live out a ways and can not really walk alone as the cars go 50 - 60 mph at least. So I don't want to get hit, lol.

Hi AM,
It's so great seeing your post!
Oh that does sound good. I will have to try it one day. I say we have to keep some things we like (cheese) can't give up all the good stuff. You are just doing so great, I love your stats!

Hi Susan,
It is hard at times to not to think of food, I am tring to work through that one also. I guess like you said staying busy will help. Glad your school project is getting done. I know you will be.
keep up the good work!

Hi CJL,
Yep I will check my Grid everyday.
It is so easy to do good when we are in the right frame of mind, but when we hit that detour it can be rough. But we do know that we can get over them. Of course it helps when we have others helping and going along the journey with us! Hope you have a great trip, be safe!

Ok well it is almost 1 am so guess I should start getting ready for bed. I hope everyone has a good Sunday!
...hugs, Millie

Hi Millie,
have been meaning to stop in at your journal ever since i saw you were back at DT but never quite got here.
I think its great incentive to remember how great you felt when you were losing the weight before..hold onto those happy thoughts every time you feel like eating something higher in cals..i do that myself..i think of all the hard work it has taken to get the weight off and i know that no amount of food can replace that feeling.
Great job on the weight lost so far you are doing fantastic!!! even better to eat out and stay under the calorie budget that takes some work and discipline.
hugs bell :)

Hello Millie, you have such a good positive mindframe and that is what brings successful weight loss. I believe most of it is in our minds and if we can have good willpower, mindcontrol and a good attitude the weight will be lost and kept off.
My oldest is my daughter Stacy and she 18 1/2 yrs old and she is the mother of my grandson Cayden who is 5 1/2 months old and they live with us. Next is my 17 yr old step daughter Michele. She lives with her mom but comes and visits us some weekends. I have been with her dad since she was almost 7. Then is my daughter Alissa who is 16 1/2, then my son James who will be 15 the beginning of sept, then with my hubby now we have twin boys that are 3 1/2(Logan & Evan).
Well im glad to see you have done so well even eating out. Sometimes thats the hardest. I love the way your thinking from past weight loss. I too remember the wonderful feeling it was and want it back. We can do this together. :)

Hi Everyone,
So great to see yall. Well I had a pretty good day today. The last few days I have been at the high end of my calorie limet, but I have still keep it below 1,600 so that is a good thing!
My son Bert and I went out to lunch today so on days like that I end up on the high end. I will try and have a few on the lower end this week. Tomorrow is my shopping day with my girlfriend and we always go out to lunch,But I will order low fat and healthy!!!

Total calories today!!!!=====
1,560.................

Hi Sandy,
Wow you have twins, You are a BUSY lady for sure and also a grandchild, wow. You seem to young to be a grandma already, But I was a young grandma so I guess others can be also, lol. I was 37 years old when I became a granny :). I will miss your post, but I know you will be back! You are doing so great with your weight loss, so ROLLING!!

Hi Am,
Oh I love it that you have a crystal ball and know that I will get to my weight loss goal!! I loved reading your July journal, you come up with some great things, I love it! tHanks for supporting me!

Hi Bell,
That is so sweet to come and post with your support!
It think it does help me to think of those great feeling I had before. I just hope I can keep reminding myself of that! I had a rough spot this morning and I keep repeating that to my self, then came here and read some journals and that helped.

Ok I am thinking tomorrow will be a much better day, even tho today was not bad. I did have a few rough mintues there, and I hate that when I have to fight the thought of wanting to over eat. But I did a good job today so hopefuly it will keep working.
Hope everyone has a great 4TH, I will be home as always.
Take care, and thank you for the GREAT support!!!

Hi Millie,

Sounds like you have had a great week! Congrats on keeping the calories down. That will translate into something positive on the scale! I think we all have meals that we know will go alittle higher but we can still narrow down our choices and pick the lesser of two evils when temptation strikes! I'll be away from DT from July 2nd-5th because I am attending an international weight loss convention in Chicago. I hope to be back posting on the 6th!

Have a great week and 4th of July!

Hi Everyone,
Well I had another good day. Went shopping with my girlfriend today, then we stop to have lunch. I was very good and stayed low fat and low calorie, my lunch was 350 calories with SF tea.

Total calories will be 1,460 so not bad.

I made the best home made pork soup tonight, had pork the size of a deck of cards with cabbage, broccoli, egg plant, tom. and just a little split pee beans to make to juice taste good. I got lots of fruit and veggies at the store today. So I have no reason to get off my path.

Hi Prada,
Yes we had a nice time shopping then at lunch. She kind of watches out for me,lol. She is so scared I will not see something or my cane will not hit and I will fall, she is like a mother hen, lol. She is cute, but we are close in age, lol.
Yes that will be nice to party when I hit my first 20 pounds! I hope to have many , many of them.

Hi bell,
Thanks! You are right I fought it and won the battle of over eating this time, hope I keep winning! It is always so easy to say well I just have this and then get right back to my diet later. there are times that can be very hard to do.

Hi Nancy,
Happy Canada Birthday! Are you doing anything fun this week?
I will be home, I am sure I will hear the fireworks. If I went down 3 blocks I would be able to see them out over the lake, But I am REALLY BLIND IN THE DARK!!
Thanks for the support!

Hi CJL,
There was a time or two there I really wanted to go for the BAD STUFF, but I hung in there ,I sure am glad I did.
Hope you have a safe and fun trip. Will miss you!

Ok Well I think tomorrow I will see if I can ride my bike up to 10 mintues tomorrow, slow and steady I go. I will take a pain pill before and see how I do (knee's).
At least I got some walking in today from going to store's.
Have a GREAT day all!!!

Hello! Im glad you had fun shopping with your friend and going out for lunch. I used to fear and dread eating out while following a weight loss plan but i dont anymore because their are good options out there. You did very well.

Your pork soup sounds very yummy. I love soup. I eat alot of the progresso soups but nothing beats homeade soup. I make very good homeade chicken soup, and my mom makes it even better and she also makes split peas with ham and lentils which i love.

Well you are doing so fantastic girl you will see your first 20 pounds off in no time at all.
I will talk to you again soon. Take care :)

Hi Everyone,
Well had another good day! But I sure did not do much, which is not a good thing. I had another few minutes and wanting to just eat what ever I wanted. I was able to talk myself out of it. That would be dum to start messing up, I will never get healther by doing that, so I told myself to knock it off now and stop thinking how good something else will taste. My food taste good and is also healthy. Now I just hope I can talk myself out of it ever time, lol. nothing like standing here in the kitchen talking to myself, lol. Well at lease the dogs listen, lol

total calories today = 1,400

I was on this one site and put all my info in and it says I should eat 2, 300 calories a day, I thought they have to be kidding. I would never lose weight on that, if lucky maybe 1-2 pounds a month.
We had a nice thunder strom come through this afternoon, and cooled off again.

Hi Bell,
Yes I am also happy when I can go out to eat and stick with the healthy eating. That has always been a rough one for me.
thanks for the support!

Hi Moncia,
You are so right the tempations are sure hard to fight at times. Seems like the last 2 days it has been coming up more. But at least I am doing it. I feel like that little train , I THINK I CAN, I THINK I CAN!!!! Lollol! Ok I knOW I CAN!

Hi AM,
Yes the soup was good. I like soup because it fills me up more, lol. I say what ever works, lol. I do make good soup most of the time. I learned most of my cooking from my Hubby Ban. He is a great cook! We can come up with foods some have never heard of . My DH Ban is a filipino. So he is a good cook!

Hi sandy,
Happy to see you can still get on line.
The progresso soups are not to bad, but the home made is so much better.
Yes I do hope I make it to my first goal. I think I will ,I will think of it, like 20 pounds at a time. Maybe go out and buy something nice for 20 pounds I lose! Sounds like a good plan to me,grin 8-|!

Ok I had baked chicken for supper tonight and it was pretty good.
My son Mario will be coming home tomorrow night and will stay until Sunday. He goes to college about 1 1/2 hour from here and works there during the summer, so it's nice when he can come home for the weekends. I think his girlfriend will be coming also. She is a very nice young lady, also very pretty. She will sleep in my daughter's room.
No hanky Panky!

Hope everyone has another good day, What is everyone doing for the 4th?? I will do nothing but stay home and I am sure I will hear the fireworks. They are only about 3 blocks from me, which I could walk, But When I say I have night blindness I really HAVE IT!!!! Can't see anything in the dark, lol.

Hi Everyone,
Well I did not do so good today. I order pizza so when the kids got here they could eat. Well that was a BAD thing to do. I ate 2 slices. So ok now that's over I thought well might as well eat what ever. then I thought no don't make it any worse then it already is. So That's what I did, the rest of the day, I ate my healthy food. So guess I will not look back and just move forward as I tell others. Of course it is always easer to give advice then to take the advice!

So went over on the calories and not sure how much the pizza hut pizzy was, am not sure I want to know, lol.

Hi AM,
It really does help to talk through this wanting to over eat, even if we are talking to our self. I guess my dogs listen, lol. I bet I don't order pizzy anymore. I now know that is a NO NO for me. I know I tell the kids not to bring chips or ice-cream then I will not want to eat it. You know, the dum pizzy was not even that good!

Hi nancy,
That's nice I am motivating someone. But you have been doing really good!
I don't think I will go watch the fireworks either. My son Antonio called and ask me if I wanted to go with him, but with all the people and can not sit down sometimes, I just don't really want to do that.

Hi Susan,
Thanks for the support. I tell you people are going to hear me talking to my self and think I am nuts, lol.
Are you enjoying your summer? We had a cool summer so far.

Hi Jojo,

Thanks for all the great support! I would be lost with out my DT family. Hope everyone has a good 4th. I think I will cook on the grill tomorrow, I love grilled meat.

Millie - I always feel so guilty when I see you are cleaning again. I know - I need to get off my duff and do the same. I did clean bathrooms yesterday. I need to get back to a daily cleaning goal. Otherwise the whole day slips away.

Great job on getting back on target after the pizza. Pizza is my downfall. I LOVE it. I have tried to cut out a lot of baking like cookies and such. I end up eating most of them. I have not baked much in a long time. Well, I did make a rhubarb crisp yesterday, but I can leave that alone. Youngest left a freezer door open. So I started cooking some things that had started to thaw!!! I do better if I stay away from baking anything with chocolate. I always felt I needed to do this for my family, but I was kidding myself. I was doing it for me. They do not complain at not having homemade cookies. So guess it was not that important.

A couple days ago, I made a cheese cake - from a box. They loved it and I hated it. So I know I can leave that alone, too. It was gone in a day!!

Hope this is a BIG BANGER day for you. Happy 4th of July!!

Hi Everyone,
well I did much better today! Thank God. I even had all the boys (men) over for a cook out and there girl friends and wife.
here is the calories for the day.

Total 1,480 = calories

I am much happyer now that I got right back on the wagon, lol. I know I can do this, I know I can do this!!!

Well I took Mario to Sam's club today to buy food for his apt. That coast me about 200.00 dollars. he was out of everything. he gets home last night and looks in the fridge and says hey it's full of food, hmmm I think that was a hint, lol.

Well my oldest son Bert may be moving in with me for a while . It seems like him and his wife may break up. He asked if he could stay here for a while as I am alone and he comes to help me a lot. I think that's why he asked if he could stay here. My hubby still has this year and next year before he will be done over there. So I think Bert knows it is a good thing to stay here with me. Which will be nice in a lot of ways. But I just wish he and his wife stay's together! But I am doing my best to stay out of it. I just told both of them they need to try if there was anything left, being married is not always easy a lot of give and take. So that's all I am saying, just let me know when you know.

Hi Moncia,
Always happy to see you. thanks for the support.
Yes some times patience is a rough one to come by,lol. But you are right it is a long journey and we have to stick with it. I guess that is why they call it a life style change. So yep no looking back. I am always happy to see myself get right back on the right path, because I know we all have to do that when we have something not healthy for us. I think that can be a hard one to learn.

Hi Susan,
thanks for the support! hey now you know what to bake the cheese cake, they like it and you don't. You know that's a good one, I will have to try that during the Hoildays , bake things I don't like then maybe I will stay away from it better.
You know Susan, it seems like the more I clean the more it needs it,lol. of course I don't clean as fast as I use to. I now just take my time, since I retired.

I hope everyone had a great 4th ! An d have a great saturday!
Thanks for being here for me.

Hi Millie! Sorry to read about your son and his wife. I hope it works out for them. It would be nice for you to have him at home. Nice he wants to live with you! Supposed to be very hot here today and tomorrow. Some storms went south and east of here. Boys slept out in a tent last night. I slept on the couch in case I had to get them in. Plus DH was snoring and my legs were bothering me. I just sleep better if I move out here.

After reading your journal, I did some cleaning yesterday! Swept and mopped the kitchen floor, dusted and vacumed. did some laundry. The boys vacumed down the steps. I hate that job.

Hope you have a good weekend.

Hi everyone,
I had a real good day today.
Stuck right with my healthy eating. I made a big pot of fresh green beans again. They turned out good.
Did not do a whole lot but cook and some cleaning. Mario and his friends were in and out all day. I know I will sure need to clean when they leave and do lundry. They have stuff sitting all over, lol. I told them that's why you are always forgetting stuff.

Well Have not heard Anything from Bert today, so not sure how that is going. I will just wait until he calls me. I hate to see them split up. But time will tell.

Ok The calories today will be, drum roll please, lol.
1, 350 Total!

Hi Susan,
Yes it is sad if him and his wife split up. I think the only reason he wants to stay here is just so I am not alone and of course he can save money that way also.
Hope your legs and knee's are feeling better!!
I bet the boys enjoyed sleeping outside. My boys use to love doing that.

Hi Nancy,
Yes it does seem all three of us had a bad day at the same time, lol.
Yes I sure do want to stay out of it,lol. If I say something about one of them and they got back together there would sure be hard feeleing's. I sure don't want to go there.

Thanks for all the support!
guess I will close this. My hubby calls and ask any news. I say no I am home all the time so don't have much to tell, lol. Now when the kids were younger and I was working I had lots to say, grin .

Millie, I am back from my four day convention in Chicago. There were over 2000 in attendance and I got to meet individuals from all over the US and Canada. I made some new friends and I had a wonderful time.

I had a "pizza experience" to share. After waiting 15 minutes for someone to take my order, it was announced that it would take a minimum of 45 minutes to prepare any orders. I found a fellow in a white shirt and tie and expressed my concern and told him patrons should have been alerted to that fact. He escorted me to another hotel restaurant and told me my meal would be free!
It was a pizza and salad buffet with giant cookies for dessert....oh my. I haven't weighed yet!

Hi Everyone,
Well had a great day today! I was even on the move alot and cleaned the upstairs.
Mario and his friends left around 3pm today. It was great having him home. I think when the baby leaves home is the hardest, now I have a empty nest :(! Of course he is in college. He says next year he will come here to work for the summer, I love that, lol.
Sure did spend a lot of money on the child, lol. He need food for the apt. gas a hair cute. So we went to Sam's club to buy in bulk.

Well my son Bert has not left his wife yet so that is a good thing, I sure hope they are working it out!!!

Ok Total for the day 1,380 calories.
Also I lost another 2 pounds!!!!!!
So I am rolling along.

Hi Susan,
Well thank you! Yes we can do it, it's just at times it is really hard to get into the swing of it. I think what is driving me right now is how hard it is for me to just walk, and with the BAD <BAD Knee's I know it will help me to move better. Also feel better and I think I had hit bottom, so now I need to bounce!!!!!!! and make the weight goooooo down!

Hi CJL,
Welcome back! Sounds like you had a great time! I am glad you got to go!! loved the pizza story!! hey you got a free lunch, way to go!

ok so I am going to clean out the dum garge tomorrow, so that should burn some calories! I am always thinking of ways to BURN<BURN the calories, lol. The more I do around here the more I will be able to do and then start doing more exercise slow and for sure!!!

SO I am sure hoping that I keep being able to do more and more as time goes by. Which I am sure I will be able to. I wish I could get out and walk. I use to love walking. My sons say I can not go on my own, because of my vision and the cars fly down my road 55 - 65 mph. So I think they are right, I sure don't want to get hit. That would sure set me back, lol.

Today Calories are --1,280 Total
Yes I am a happy camper. I feel very FULL! so that is a good thing.

Seems like my son Bert and his wife are tring to work things out, so I am happy about that! I hope it works.

Hi Jojo,
Thanks so much for the support! You are very sweet and kind!

Hi Am,
Thank you so much for the cheer's. Always nice having you vist! I am going to have to come up with some good stories like you have, I love reading your journal, then I say right watch that calorie fairy!!

Hi Nancy,
Thanks for the support! I seen you sure are getting the calories down were they need to be, and with your work out you will do great!

Hi Moncia,
Thanks for the support and cheering!
I am really glad I was missed here at DT. I sure missed the friends I made here over the years. It really does help to post here and help cheer others on, it makes you want to work a little harder at it. I am always so happy to see others do so good or help others that are struggling. As I have done aLL OF THESE things myself, more times than I want to count.

You Ladies are the best!!!!!!!!!

Ok Tomorrow I will clean out my frezzer, and vacum and mop the down stairs. I am thinking of calling a friend and see if I can get her to come walk with me, I can give her some gas money for coming, as gas is SO HIGH now.

Wow you should see the bruise's I have on my arms, they look bad! Guess I better go in and get my blood checked as it may be to thin and they will have to lower my blood thinner.

Have a great Tuesday!!! I will too!

Hi Everyone,
Well I missed getting on yesterday, I got so busy doing stuff then I checked my emails and by then it was so late and i was tried I just went to bed.

I did very good yesterday, I had
1,200 calories total! I cleaned out my frezzer. then my son came over and we went to a park that has a walking track and I walked around that 2 times, not sure how far it is which I am sure not far. But I did it and was very tried, lol. I am getting much more done in my day than I have the last 2 years, so that has to be a GOOD THING! I will have to come back later and post my today calories, I think I know where they will be at but will know more later for sure.My SON Tone says he will come over at least 4 or 5 days a week and take me walking, I sure hope so.
My garge looks really nice. I think tomorrow I will mowe the front yard and then work in the back yard some will also walk again tomorrow.

Hi Parda,
Thanks for the visit. I am getting close to the 20 pound lost, thank God. My next big goal will be to get under 300 that will be just wonderful!!!!

Ok I will be back later and post my today cals. Oh I forgot tomorrow I have to go to Grand Rapids to buy some stuff, that is a hour drive one way, so not sure how much yard work I will get done.
.....Hugs, To all!....millie

Huzzah, Millie!!! Thanks for stoppin' by my journal. I really appreciate it.

Sounds like you are doin' great on the workout front. I was wonderin' re walkin' if you'd tried just walkin' in the house or yard? Or if you had any of Leslie Sansone's walking DVDs? You get the equivalent of a walk but don't have to worry about traffic or not seeing where you're stepping as you mentioned your ds was worried about.

Leslie Sansone's vids saved my life when I started my weight loss journey and I still love her. I used to have more than 30 of the old tapes, have given 'em mostly away but have some new ones. There are also some books out like "The Walk Diet," usually sold in Wally World or online or actually in any bookstore.

Anyhow, you are doin' great! Enjoy your day. Your son sounds great, helpin' ye work out! That sounds fun.

Millie - thanks for checking in on me. So glad 4H is finally in and done. I am beat. My oldest was so excited to get reserve champion on a table he made. I just want all the extra food to disappear. Took some to the neighbor's. Need to throw some in the freezer, I guess. I am really tired today - sleepy. Not sure why as I slept later than usual. Did get my walk in. Good thing as it is getting hot.

Hi Everyone,
Well had another great day today. DS Tone took me to Grand Rapdis today and we got rice and went over to the VA building, picked up some paper work then we stoped at Brun's stake out. Yes I did real good with ordering my food. I got grilled salmon, mash Potota ,no butter, steamed broccoli, Ice tea with splenda. So I stuck with my healthy eating, I did make Tone hide the rolls so they were not looking at me,lol !

Ok Then we stoped by Sam's club and I got a new Computer with a 19 inch flat screen, So tomorrow my 2 sons will come over and move my Desk down in the family room up to my kitchen. Also will have a screen inlarger put on it. So now I can't wait to get it all set up 8-|!
I went for a walk today again. My one knee keep waking me up last night, took a pain pill and it helped a little. But I am still going to walk or do my Walk away the Pounds that Am reminded me of. I know the knee is going to hurt, but I have to move if I want my life back! Or ever want that other knee replaced.

Calories today are 1,360 total!

Hi Am,
I would never mind anyone PMing me! I just feel loved! Hey thanks for bring up about the Walk Away The Pounds, because I do have some of her video's. I use them a lot in the winter time as it snows a lot here, last time when I lost 149 pounds walking and using her WATP tapes, So I will get them back out and the days Tone can not take me walking I will use them, so thanks!!!
thanks for being here!!

Hi SUsan,
happy to hear you got your walk in. Hope you are all rested up now. It makes you tried when you are on the run a lot, is a lot of ways I sure miss that. Tell your son congrats!!! see it does pay to listen to mom. Thanks for your support!

Hi Jojo,
Thanks for all your support! My garage looks really nice, don't know what took me so long. My best friend says anyone that has a neat, and everything in place garage has to much time on there hand.So when I got my all done I called and told her, she started laughing.

Hi Nancy,
Thanks for being here for me!
I do have some really nice sons, they are always looking out for me. When I go out I use my red and white cane as I don't see anything below my chin or up or sideways, so tunnel vison, the cane warns me of something I may trip on or over and also warns others I have a vision promblem. They are always saying carefull there is a sidwalk coming up or watch this or that, even when I know, I just say ok, beacuse one day I may not see then they would not say anything. They sure do watch out for me. tone use to get upset if he saw someone watching me. I said Tone that is ok they do not see many people with canes (red and white) as this is somewhat a smaller town.

Ok well I will close for now. It is always great seeing everone! Thanks so much!

Millie: You are such an inspiration to me! Because you have the desire, dedication, determination, and the discipline you have been so successful!
Congrats on your weight loss. That twenty pound loss is just around the corner. I hear the view of the 200's is great from there!

Yesterday I found the motivation and the willpower that I have been seeking for months. At my weigh-in I was back up to my highest weight which was a turning point for me. I am back on my journey and will take the opportunity to move forward.

Yesterday I worked on my kitchen. I always work on the cabinets first making sure everything is in its place, went on to cleaning and organizing the frig and finally onto the counters. I love when everything looks so clean and smells so fresh. Today is another room and another day!

Hi,
Well had another good day. Boy I just love saying that, lol! I hope I can say that the rest of my life, grin :D!
Well had a Dr's appt today. All went well BP was good (it should be I take 4 pills aday for it) But it is lower than what it had been so that is a good sign. Dr Booth says oh I see you have lost some weight, I said yep I am back at my healthy eating, so he was happy about that. I have to do some blood work due to me telling him about the chest pain I had over a week ago :(, I know I should have went into ER but I just did not want to unless I was sure. So he looks at me and says how many years did you work as a CNA, I said I know it could have been to late by the time I was sure, ( now that's dumb, lol)
Well got my new computer all set up in the kitchen. BOY DO I LOVE IT, i HAVE A 19 INCH flat SCREEN!!!!!Also inlarged the fonts and boy can I SEE GOOD,LOL. The boys brought my desk in here so I am all set up even with a radio on the top shelve. A phone on the desk also.

Well when I got home I went all around the yard and picked up sticks and tree stuff, I think I got a good work out just doing that. The back of my legs are sore already. Then I mowed the front yard, it is kind of big as we live out a ways, but we still have house's that are not to far apart.

Today's grand total is 1,450 calories! not to bad I say. I am losing about 2 pounds a week and I am happy with that. I am not even going to think how long that will take to even get close to goal. Right now I will be happy to get out of my 300's, I will do a happy dance that day,lol :D.

Hi Am,
Happy to see you! thanks for the support my friend! We had a hot day today, well for Michigan any way,lol So I did sweat some.

Have a GREAT Wednesday everyone! Keep moving!....Hugs, Millie

Millie, Congrats on the new computer and the two pound loss! Looks like your weight loss is translating into healthy results. I am so happy for ya! I think we should concentrate on mini goals that will lead to our weight loss goal. It is good to celebrate our achievements along the way. By acknowledging our success, it motivates us to continue our journey.

This week I have been thinking about the total weight I want to lose and it is a bit discouraging. It is not going to happen overnite and I need to focus just on being healthy today. I am hoping to see a lower number on the scale this week. I am experimenting with weighing once a week and it is driving me crazy. I don't know what to expect at my weigh-in on Thursday...it could go either way. I am experiencing swelling in my ankles and so my foot doctor gave me compression socks to wear....didn't make me feel youthful, but I hope it works. I do not add salt to my diet and I eat mainly fresh meat, fruits and veggies. He said it was probably due to the weather...whatever that means.I'll have to keep on top of it since it is a new symptom for me. Don't you ignore any symptoms...get them treated....end of lecture!

Hi Everyone,
Yes I had another good day,Thank God.My son Bert took me shopping today, so I hope I got everything for our meals for the weekend. I will have another lady and her hubby and guid dog over Sunday for dinner so we can all vist at the same time. I will cook out on the grill.pork steaks marinated, and my hubby sauce, will make fried rice and I will do my best not to eat to much, so wish me luck. Will also make a big pot of fresh green beans. I know they would like me to make egg rolls, but they are so much work so don't think I will get to that. Also if any of my boys know I made egg rolls they will come over to eat, lol.

Well after shopping I went out and mowed the back yard so that is done, just got it done before a strom came through. Now tomorrow I will spend the day cleaning, because i I have no plans to clean this weekend except the kitchen.

My calories for today is 1,470 total. I sure hope I don't go over much this weekend, but I know I can do this right???

Hi Nancy,
That is so true women do wait to long. You just never want to feel dum and have some Dr tell you it's heart burn or something dum like that. But I am glad it has not come back. I am glad you would miss me 8-|.

Hi Angel,
Happy to see you made it to the libraey, we have missed hearing from you. Yes I use to have a real hard time when I went out to eat, but I did learn the last time when I lost a lot of weight that I can go out to eat and still stay with the healthy way of eAting. Now I just have to learn that when I have friends over for dinner, lol.

Hi Cjl,
yes I am enjoying this new computer, lol. I can see much better with this one. I was using my laptop.
I think you will do great at losing this weight once you get going. I know it is hard when you think of how much you need to lose. Look at me I need to lose 164 pounds, MAN THAT HURT TO TYPE,lol. Yes I am with you take it small parts at a time, I am looking forward to getting out of the 300's and when I look I said hey cool only 27 more pounds to go and i will be 299. I am so hoping this will help! Then will look forward to being below 250, then I will party 8-|,lol. I am with you I have a hard time staying away from the scale also. When I went to Tops I still weighd at home so I knew if I had lost or not. My scale and there were different but I knew if I had lost from the week before.
Hope your swellen ankels are better and the hot weather can sure do that. Also any new meds you may have started in the last month can also do it.
So together we will get this weight off, and keep it off!!!!

Hi Bell,
I agree yard work can be a work out for sure, just lefting the grass bag is a workout, lol.
yep I sure was not a happy camper over my internet being down, lol. I spent a lot of time on phone with tech support, I bet that burned some calories,!!

Thanks everyone for all the great support!!!!
I have to go do something for my hubby Ban on the VA web site, I sure hope I can get in and do it for him so wish me luck!!

So how is Ban doing? When does he get to come home next? That is crazy that he has to be gone so long, but I think it has made you strong, or maybe you were always strong. Anyways, you are doing great. Oh, is Ban his full name? or does is it short for something else?

Take good care of yourself today!!!

Hi Everyone,
Had another good day today. Got my house all cleaned for my friend, of course by the time she gets here the house will be messed up again due to Mario will be coming in this weekend, but that's ok Becky and I will still have a good time. It's just so great getting to do something I like and I don't need a driver to do it,lol.

The total calories for the day is 1,395, heck we will just say 1,400 ...lol!

Well I tired to get on the VA site for Ban but I could not get in, shoot I know more about him than he does but they said he had already registered. So I texted him then he called, he said he has never been to that site before. I said well it says I need a password and I don't know what that would be, so you will have to call to see if you can get it refilled. Well I tired.

Hi Nancy,
Thanks for the visit and support! Yes I would be lost without my computer.

Ban is a nick name his name is Urbano Roma. He was hoping to come home for Christmas but I don't think he will get it off. So it will be in June I think. We will be going to Florida for 2 weeks next summer. We have a Villa rented for next summer, we are going to pretend we are rich for 2 weeks, lol:laugh:! Once he retired we want be able to do things like that. He is hoping to keep working until we get our last son through Collage, we really don't want to take out a loan or have him to if we can make it work that way. Ban will be 64 on Halloween so the job he does is getting harder for him, it is really HOT over there and working in the sun makes it worst. I know I sure could not do it.
I think you are right it has made me strong, We have been married for 37 years and he was gone off and on a lot with being in the military. He leaves for 2 - 6 months at a time then home again , over and over so I had to learn to do for myself. I think that is one reason why not driving has been so rough for me. I am the type to say fine I will just do it myself. He is already retired from the military, but could not find a job here in MI. so the VA had this job open doing back security for the Military, which pays good so he went for it to get our last child through collage. With me not being able to work the last 3 years just made it worst. A lot of people are leaving MI. because the jobs are so bad.

Ok I am going to try and do my best this weekend not to over eat so wish me luck!

I must say I sure have been a lot more happy since I got back to my healthy eating, I just keep thinking about how happy and good I felt the last time I lost weight and I do so want that great feeling back again!!! There is only one way of getting it back and that is to work at it and JUST do what needs to be done. Of course there are always those times when we lose that good feeling . This morning when it was time to get up I thought for what? Then I thought hey I am losing weight, you are going to be feeling better and better everyday you do this. I know such dum thoughts, but very true. I even started looking at my thighs when I get up in the morning because the last time they looked so small so I am watching and waiting for them to look that way again. I am not use to telling my thoughts like this but hey what is a journal for, lol.
Have a GREAT Friday!!!!!!!

Millie,

I am having a party on Saturday and I have been busy cleaning. Yesterday I started buying food for the party. I'll make one last trip to the store today for last minute items. I hope you have a wonderful time with your friend.

I really enjoyed reading about your husband's career and your life. You are very self reliant and my guess is that you will continue to be so. You have met your challenges head on.

I had a good weigh-in yesterday but at the support group I ate a brownie and two cookies. Then last night I had a Italian beef sandwich with peppers and cheese, slaw and banana cream pie at my brother-in-law's house. I have to get right back on track today so that I can have another good weigh-in next week. I don't want to lose the same few pounds over and over.

Millie, I was looking at your stats just now and you are down close to 20 pounds already!!! Huzzah! :cheer: You have the greatest attitude and are really tearin' up those stats!

Congratulations on your good calorie control even though you seem to be the cook a lot. That is hard to do. It's one thing to just cook our own meals but I admire anyone who cooks for others and does well with healthy eating. Kudos.

Then I thought hey I am losing weight, you are going to be feeling better and better everyday you do this. I know such dum thoughts, but very true.

Millie,

I don't think those are dumb thoughts at all, I think that is what successful weightloss people do. They make their own motivation, they make themselves do what they have to do. The 'feelings' are often not there so we just do it. And chosing to think positive thoughts is really the key, I think.

Thanks so much for sharing about your DH. He sounds like a great guy, working hard for his family. Love the Villa in Florida, sounds great!!!

See you soon.

Millie, I have had a less than perfect week in regards to my eating and my motivation. I re-read your post about how we have to do the work at it even when we do not have the feeling behind it. It is so easy to give in and give up. Progress is slow and sometimes hard to see. I was at goal and I question if I will ever get back there. I have been losing the same pounds over and over and over and not breaking through to have a permanent loss, allowing myself to move forward.

Millie if we want to continue moving forward we have to keep taking steps. If we stop, our progress stops. We need to keep taking steps to lose the next pound. Each pound brings us closer to better health and a healthy weight. We must keep taking steps forward even on those days when we don't feel like it. I always say, "Fake it, until you make it." There are days in which I an able to convince myself to make those healthy choices and I do end up happier at the end of the day, knowing that I make those choices even if my heart, mind and soul was not completely in it. You can and will continue on your journey!

Hi Everyone,
It's so nice to come back and see yall had posted. Sorry I was missing again! My friend came early Friday and stayed until late Sunday, I did not want her to leave!
We had her hubby and another friend and hubby over for dinner Sunday night. I grilled pork steaks and made fried rice. The dinner turned out really good. GUESS WHAT??? I did not go over much on my calories!!!!!! I am so happy I did so good! So I think I will still have a weight loss this week. Everytime I do something like I should it just helps to keep me going! I just hope and prayer that I don't lose this great feeling.
My friend Becky that was here this week wants to lose like 50 pounds and she said that I have really got her going now, she seemed excited about it when she left. I made and gave her the same things I ate ( of course I made sure she liked it first)
She said I really showed her how she could still eat good and healthy and see that it is not so bad after all. We even went out to lunch 2 times and we did great with our eating. So I feel like I am going froward good.It was nice having someone to talk to and get up and have coffee together and chat.
I did not get on Monday as I need to do some cleaning and was very tried.

Today I went and did my blood work,so that's out of the way. Then Tone (son) came and took me to save a lot to buy can goods by the case's. I use fresh veggies as much as I can.

Ok Calories for today is 1,320 total!!!

Hi Cjl,
You had a great week last week. I know over the weekend you went over some. NOW YOU HAVE TO DO THE WORK AND THAT IS!!!!!! DON'T LOOK BACK, NO CRYING OVER SPILLED MILK, NO MORE THINKING ABOUT WHAT YOU DID OVER THE WEEKEND! YOU are going to just start right now! We will do this together!!!!! I will have times like yours and you can kick me in the butt, easy, lol. You are so right we can not stop and we will not!

Thanks for being here with me, we will do this, so on our journay we GO!!

Hi Aria, Happy to see you are back from your trip!

Hi Am, I do have a really great attitude now, I am just hoping and prayeing that I can keep it. Yes I am close to the 20 pound lost, we will party at every 20 pound, lol. So we should have lots of 20 pound party! I still can not belive I am as big as I am, but that's ok I will get it off.

Hi Nancy,I sure hope it's true that is what successful people do,lol. I was letting my friend Becky read my journal while she was here, she really thought DT was great and we had such kind people posting to me. I said I sure do! She sure is wanting to get started on her weight lose now. She called and said she did great on her calories yesterday and today. I told her she was rolling now. Thanks for being here!

Well it is getting late so guess I better get off of this computer. I am been very tried yesterday and today. I hope to get caught up on my sleep soon.Hope all has a wonderful Wednesday!!

Hey Millie: You are one heck of a cheerleader for me and all of that jumping up and down burns calories!:cheer: On Monday and Tuesday I just tried to keep up to the wagon, but I didn't jump on until today. I haven't worked out a plan for today other than to think before I eat, eat only when I am physically hungry and to buy only healthy food when I go to the store. We finally ran out of party food last night.

It sounds like you had a nice time with your friend. Please tell her we hope she joins DT. It means alot to have the support of others on this journey.
Your encouragement has helped me and so many others. You have a heart of gold!

Well had a pretty good day. I went out to lunch and had 2 taco's, was not sure on the calories, so I went low calorie for supper just in case. I put down 200 for each taco. So I am hoping I am close.
Not much went on today, so all was a little slow for me. I did clean the family room and did some laundry. I am planning on turning my family room into a work out room also. Since all my kids have moved out I can do it my way now. I have a nice exercise bike and weights and exerciser ropes and belt's, also a big ball, step box,Walk Away The Pounds CD's. I am telling my DH that I want a nice treadmill, I bet he will get it for me. I know him well, lol.

Ok calories for the day should be around 1,400?? I hope. Maybe a tad higher.

Hi CJL,
I am glad you think I am a good cheer leader, I don't think so, but I try. With you it is easy! I have been there many times myself, I know how at times it is hard and other times you can breeze along the path until we hit that hill.I really hope you had a good day today. I know having good days can sure help.

My friend Becky would love to join DT, but she has gone back to collage, so when school starts she does not have much time, she has lots of home work. She also reads some what slower as her vision is not as good as mine is. I have 15 degree's of vision left and she has like 5 degree's left. She has a guide dog name Shamus that goes every where with her.Poor thing I kept running into him this week end. He would be right in front of me and I would take off tring to walk and kick him. He is a wonderful dog.
Yes I think so far I have a pretty good attitude on this journey, but I know that can change in a flash, so I am prayering it stays.
I belive yours will be back to stay, I know you will do this along side of me!

Hi Melly,
Thamks so much for coming to help cheer me on! We all need that support. Yes I have ejnjoyed reading yours also. Life is so fun and all the changes we go through can be interesting. Hope you have another good day.

Ok well guess I will end this as it is getting late again. I like staying up late then sleep late.
Have a great Thursday!

Hey Cheerleader Friend! Thank you for your good wishes for a good day. I had a good, healthy day, but ended up with some late night eating.:o IF I didn't have wonderful friends like you Millie, I would probably just give up...now I know if I lie down you will kick me....so I am up and moving forward on this journey. Step by step, hand in hand,

I was just thinking about Becky. I am sure she would qualify for equipment throught the state department of rehabilitation. They provide funds for college, equipment and transportation. Perhaps they could fund Zoom text or JAWS(talking software.) Are her college books on tape? What is her major?

Hi Everyone,
Well had a good day today. It was nice and sunny here in MI. along the lake shore.
A friend of mine Maxine, came over for coffee today she stayed about 3 hours so that was nice.
I got some closet all cleaned out today and under the sinks, so at least I did something good, if I keep this up I will have dejunked most of the house which is what I have wanted to do for a longgggg time.

Total calories for the day is ...1,350! So not a bad day at all!

Hi CJL,
Lollol, I just love my new name cheerleader, that is sweet of you to think so. I just love you and want you and I to go down this road together, which I know we will.
Commision for the blind is paying for her school and her bus rides, books and other stuff. I know she may get her books put on tape, she says right now she still likes to try and read while she can! She is taking counslin (sp?) she wants to help others that have disablity. Man I am a bad speller, lol. I think she will be great at it as that is how I meet her is from being on line and we found out we lived only about 1 hour from each other, so she invited me over and it was little scary to meet someone from on line, so I was happy I had my big son with me,lol. She helped me through a lot as I was going through this RP dx and all.She showed me it was not the end of the world :D! Last year I went with her to a RP Social in Nerb. we had a great time and I met 100's of others that also have RP and saw how they did just fine with it. We are all at a different points of our RP.

Ok once again it is late, what's new ,lol.
Have a great FRIDAY!!!!!!

Hi, Millie!!! You have such a great attitude, you are bound to succeed in all your goals! Hey, I once lived in Michigan, visited the lake shore a lot, though never went to the city where you are! Thanks for the nice note you left in my journal. Have a good day tomorrow, great work on your cals! You are very consistent!

Hey :cheer::cheer::cheer:

I have a girlfriend who is visually impaired and she got a masters in rehabilitation from a school in Michigan. I met her through a support group for the visually impaired and that lead to me becoming a board member, consultant, and a volunteer with the agency she started for visual impairment.

Hey I looked up your town and it is beautiful. Your shoreline is breathtaking and the beach is so nice. Chicago is more commerical and the shoreline does not have alot of beach area. (I'm 35 miles south of the Loop.)

I have met one Diettalk member in person...Pouncermom. We have gotten together a few times. She lives about 15 miles from me. We had a wonderful time together and we e-mail. Cyber hugs are great, but in person hugs are even better!

I'm alittle disconnected today...trying to keep myself together...see my journal.

Have a great day and no matter what we face each day, let's live life fully for it is a gift from God.

Hi Everyone,
Had another good day. My son Bert called and wanted to go to Sam's club to get stuff for his baseball team party. We then went to lunch at Logan's, I had a hard time finding something to eat low calorie. I ended up with a club sandwhich, No mayo, No cheese, I ate less than half of it, so I should be good. I had tea no sugar. no chips or fries. Yes I love fries, lol. I did take a roll and took one bite and thought is this roll really worth it. So I said NO IT IS NOT. So I put it back in the bread basket, lol. I am glad I take small bites! Then we went over to Staples and got some stuff for my computer desk.

My other son Antonio came over to borrow some money until he gets paid. Of course he will not pay it back, so I will make him come over and work it off, lol. I am so sweet, grin 8-|.

Total calories today is 1,400 So not a bad day. Got some walking in so that should help.

Hi Am,
I sure hope and pray that you are right and I will succeed!!! I always have that fear in the back of my mind that what if I decide or just don't want to do this anymore will I be able to fight it off!!!
I am sure most of us know that feeling and then we just start to go wrong. I know when I lost that weight the last time, I had the same fear. Maybe I need to just NOT think about it, maybe that is what sends me the wrong way. Ok Now I am just thinking out loud, or in my post, lol.
Were did you live in MI.? One thing I can say about MI. is we get all 4 season's here. You never get over sick of it, well I do get sick of winter !

Hi CJL,
I think that is so great that you got on the board for the rehabilitaion. Sounds like you have a smart friend also.

I have been to Chicago many times, My hubby has family there. Also I lived in Great Lakes for 3 years, that's were my first son was born then in the 80's I lived at Glenview for 3 years, hubby was at the base there. We still go to Ill. a lot when he is home.
Hey I remember Pouncermom, is she still here at DT? I have not seen the name anyway around this time. Maybe some day we may meet.
I don't really think Muskegon is very pretty, but the pictures they show are, lol. We have lots of lakes around that's for sure.
You know you are so right we do need to live each day fully, and that is something I have not done the last 2 or 3 years and need to start that now!!!

I am really sorry to hear about your brother Cj!!!! I will sure keep yall in my prayer's!!! Thinking of you!

Oh yes, A few weeks ago I order this flavorwave pot. Anyways I got it a few days ago. It;s a a new way of cooking your food, it cooks from the inside out and also brown's. You can cook the meat right out of the freezer and also cook veggies at the same time, and it does not dry out the meat. Well I cooked chicken in it the other day and it turned out really good. I soaked the chicken before with soy sacue and stuff, MAN THAT WAS GOOD!!! Yes it even looked like I had fried it. I seen it on TV that's how I order it. Anyway just wanted to let yall know that it really does work good and does not dry out the meat.

Hope everyone has a GREAT SAturday!
maybe I will mowe the front yard tomorrow, who know's,lol.

Hello Millie,

first could you please tell what RP is.. is it something to do with your eyes? You also asked me some questions.. where do I live and what is a kilo equal to in pounds.

I live in a seaside town in the north of Queensland, Australia. It is SUPPOSED to be the tropics, but for the last two winters it has been cold enough to wear slippers and wear a cardigan. A kilo equals 2.2 pounds.. at least I think that is right.

I am pleased that you are going well, as it makes some of us try that little bit harder.

Your support is much appreciated, best from Melly

Hi Everyone, just a short note, I am so excited I wanted to tell. Last weekend I forgot to weigh as I had a friend here. Anyway Drum roll :D!!!!

I lost 4 pounds since my last weigh in! Yes I am a happy camper! so I am at 322.

Hi Melly,
So nice to see you, thanks for the support!
RP is for Retintis Pigmentosa of the Retina, the rods and cones die off and you go blind. There are some that never go total, so I am hoping I will be one of them! I am Legally blind already, I have 15 degree's left, it's like looking through toliet paper rolls. So I don't see up, down or sides.

Ok Thanks for letting me know of the Kilo. Now I will know what you mean when I read your journal.
We come to DT and can learn all kinds of stuff. Hope you are having a great day!

I will be back later to post more!!!

Wow.. four pounds down.. well done indeed! I am so sorry about your eyes.. but I have got to admire you for doing your best to get healthy.

I did read that avacado and blueberries are good for the eyes.. you might like to include these two in your food plan occasionally. It is good that you are trying to get more exercise, but be careful to not overdo..

Millie, thanks for being there for me, a smile from Melly

Hi Everyone,
Had a good day today, which is always great! It was a boring day also, lol. I should have went out a mowed the yard, but did not want to but it would have burned more calories.
That so funny, every thing I do now I think about burning calories, lol.
I made chicken in my new flavorewave pot. I made up my hubby BBQ sauce, man that turned out good, even put some veggies in there. I just love this new way of cooking. It says I can cook everything in it, so guess I will have to try more stuff in there :D.

Well sat down and got all my bills made out and ready to go in the mail box .

Today I had 1,400 calories total!

Hi Am,
Thanks for the cheering and support!
Do you know what her vision is? A lot of people find out about there RP when they are young. I was in my 40's when I found out, I was triping and falling all the time, even broke my wrist in one fall and broke 4 toes in another fall, plus lots of other falls. They even checked me to see if I had a brain tumor, Thank God I did not have one.I have learned to slow down and when I am out I use my red and white cane, so I don't trip over anything. Am, I sure am tiring to get more healthy, I just hope I keep following through!

Hi CJL,
I loved the cheering, lol. hey I had to write that down (give me a M) that was cute! You are a good cheerleader also.

yes if hubby is home and we go to Ill. I will sure let you know so we can meet. That would be nice!

Well guess I will close this for now. Hope everyone has a great Monday!!

Millie, I only remember one cheer from high school and it's not the best cheer for Diettalk. I'm not condoning laxative use as diet tool....it's just alittle something funny I remember from my school days.

Ex-lax, Ex-lax......What does that spell....Go, Go, Go!!!

Congrats on the 4 pound loss, that is awesome girl! Sometimes we go out to eat and theres not good options. I get in a panic but like you i will use best judgement and skip the cheese and mayo and just use common sense. I am so proud of you my friend. Hope your enjoying the summer and take care and i will be back. :)

Hi Millie,

I hope you are well in your world. You say sometimes that you fear backsliding.. I work with each day as it comes along, and concentrate on making the right choices as the day unfolds.. easier said than done sometimes.

I also make it my goal to bring as many small positive acts to my journal as possible.. just imagine how much better your knees will be without the extra weight.

Soldier on, never give up, best from Melly

Hi Everyone,
Had a good day today. I am also up to 15 minutes on my bike ride now, so far the knee's are hanging in there. Which makes me very happy!

Total for today 1,400 calories!!!

Everyone, In March we put our house up for sell, and we have had some come and look at it.I live in a tri level house. So on the main floor is just the living room and Kitchen, NO bedroom or bathroom. So we want to move where everything is on one floor because of my bad knee's and me losing my vision, so I want have to worry about stairs. As we know the market is not very good right now for selling homes. My Dh Ban and I thought maybe it would be better to just add a bath and bedroom onto the main level. Well that would be around 30 - 50,000.My realtry knew we were talking about this, so now she wants to take our house and pay the payments and stuff and stage the house and sell it.Wednesday she wants to take me to look at some brand new homes. This has me a little worried. I don't want to have 2 house to worry about, because what if this one does not sell. So I think I need to make sure that they are buying it not just taken over the payments. I had never heard of this before, a few friends say yes they had heard of them doing this kind of thing before, but to make sure they are buying it. Has any of yall ever heard of this before????? Just want to get some feelers out there, you know more than one mind thinks better, lol. So let me know what yall think of this please????.

Hi Melly,
I sure agree it will help my knee's and also the new one will last longer. I said I would not have the other one replaced until I have everything on one floor next time. that was rough dealing with the new knee and the stairs at the same time.
Thanks for the support and vist!

Hi Nancy,
Happy to see you are back, sounds like you had a busy weekend.
Yes So far I am still doing good!
I really like my new cooking pot, lol. It's a new way of cooking so they say, infared cooking, I think is the right word for it. Meat does not dry out.

Hi Angel,
It's great to see your post. I miss seeing you around DT. Hope you find a new place to move, and can get your computer back on, I know you must miss it! You are doing great with your weight loss also, I am so happy for you.

Hi CJL,
I love your cheer! But I like the one you did with my name better, lol. That was a cute one!
Thanks for being here and the support!

Hi Aria,
Thanks for the vist! Glad to see you back and for the support!

Ok Well I got done with my journal early tonight. My friend and her DH will be picking me up to go shopping around 9:30 or 10:00 am, it's our shopping and lunch week.

Hope everyone has a great Tuesday!, Take Care, ...Hugs, Millie

Millie, Back in 2005, we put our house on the market ourselves. We got all kinds of creative offers from realtors and prospective buyers. Sometimes realtors will buy a home to resell it at a profit. I think your best bet is to get a lawyer involved who will be objective, can explain the pros and cons and protect your rights.

I have not heard of an agent taking over payments to sell a house. Sometimes individuals will pay payments and taxes which will allow them to get a "quick deed" which gives ownership to the property....
