MustLose8269 07-15-08, 01:17 PM Ok a little about me, Im 26, married, 1 son in heaven (RIP angel baby) and a cockerspaniel dog....I am from Panama City Fl, but recently moved to houston tx w/my husband...I've been married almost 6 years......so I am starting a whole new journal, it has been a while since I've been on here....almost a year actually... I've done alot of different diets, lost 40 lbs at one point then gained it all back, but never got over 305lbs...So here I am ready to lose this weight. I am currently at 296lbs right now. I have dealt with ALOT of emotional road blocks over the past few years, and I kept back sliding, but I've come to realize IM the one in control of my body, Im the one LETTING my weight hold me back. I am going to change the way I eat, not just some fad diet to lose weight fast like before, which hey, they do work for some people, just not me.....but Im going to eat healthier, and Im going to start by drinking more water, less cokes, less sweets, and gradually cut down on my mayo & sour cream intake, b/c I eat those 2 things on practically everything! Im not only doing this to be HOT anymore, I'm now doing this for health reasons.
Reason 1: I have P.C.O.S....which is preventing me from becomming pregnant
Reason 2: I am pre-hypertensive...meaning Im in the beginning stages of high blood pressure
Reason 3: My ankles swell all the time, and now it appears that my legs are starting too as well.
Reason 4: I just dont feel well being this heavy
Reason 5: It impairs my life, and my marriage.
And lastley I do wanna look better in my clothes.
So Im going to try really hard to keep all that in mind....I am a serious emotional/bored eater, and I dont really like veggies alot, so this isnt going to be easy, but IMO nothing in life thats worth anything ever is right? lol.
I will be posting my calorie intake each day, and as for exercising, Im going to start when I get back from out of town, I'll be gone july 23-Aug 2nd, which will be hard to eat ok...but Im going to strive.
Anyways to those of you I know on here, I've missed you all, and I apologize for my abscence, I will stay on track this time! :D

Anyways, you have some very compelling reasons to get this weight off. You certainly don't need any of those health issues at your young age!!! You need to be free and feel good about yourself!!!
Feel free to join a few of us who are also counting calories and posting together in a thread in the Calorie Counting forum. I post my total for each day. Helps keep me a bit more on track knowing others will see that NUMBER, lol. I need all the help I can get most of the time.
Are you doing any kind of activity/exercise? I am walking this summer and just recently have started adding some weights. It all takes time, one step at a time.

The veggie thing can be hard...do you like salads???? I know..seems like a stupid question...but there are some really good salad dressings...and salad with grilled chicken and low fat chees....a subway salad has the equivilant (sp?) of five servings of veggies!
There is this stuff called "go greens" too...a powdered drink that you can get online or at gnc...and you mix it with a bottle of water and it's supposed to have the equivalent of a salad in every bottle...just 35 calories! :)
I don't know...just thought i'd throw those suggestions out there! lol

MustLose8269 08-08-08, 10:51 PM This time I was away b/c I was out of town. I got back monday but we had a tropical storm hit here and I had alot of things to get caught up on. I unfortunetly, gained back to 300lbs while I was on vacation X-( but Im back down to 299.2. I have NO more vacations planned until november lol.I fell off the wagon and now Im back on. Actually while I was in Tn, I started having a dull achey chest pain under my left breast bone area, close to the middle. Ive been having it for about a week on and off. It happens everyday but its not a continual pain. Ive been watching my BP and it seems normal. The only other health problems I have is swelling of my ankles and PCOS. I had my cholosteral checked a year ago and it was still good, altho my good choloesterol was a little low. My bad choloesterol was normal. It was like 190 I think. I havent done anything to pull a muscle. I do have acid reflux sometimes though. And I've noticed when I belch latley I feel some acid, so Im thinking that could be my chest pain but Im not sure. I bought some Zantect 75 today and just took one, so maybe thats it. Or it could be stress...Im really hoping its not my heart. I also have anxiety/panic attacks, so this has got me really worried. I had one so bad last night it made my shake and have chills. :( SO needless to say this has freaked me out good and proper. SO today Im really striving. Im not gonna exercise until my chest stops hurting. I know Im not gonna eat any more of those frozen dinners b/c they have high sodium, so Im going to change how I eat. More veggies and fruits and natural things. Its gonna be REALLY hard...but I have to do this b/c I dont wanna die. So does anyone have any ideas about why my chest is hurting or do you think I should go to the doctor or just wait and see what happens over the next few weeks?
So anyways I have a great vacation, we went to six flags in KY and I got to see Nashville Tn, and see my mom and my sister. I ate ALOT of junkie food tho, obviously. lol. But Im back now and its time to get a cracking. lol.
So I'll be keeping everyone posted. OH btw, a reward for myself when I get to 279 is Im gonna get my nose re-pierced lol.

I sometimes get sharp piercing pain in my left chest also which I had checked out at the doctor's because I was worried about my heart. This was in April or May when I went I think. They checked me out thoroughly and said it was muscular, but not heart muscle. I was stressing a muscle in my chest wall from the way I was lying in bed to read (I was sort of lying propped up on my left shoulder, and it was stressing the muscle). I stopped lying that way and it stopped happening for the most part. The doctor said that if I have chest pain like that (muscular pain) not to worry about it if it's only like 5 minutes, but if it's more like 45 minutes, that might be a heart issue.
A few years back I went to the doctor with bad centralized chest pain and that was diagnosed as stomach ulcers and I was put on ranitidine (that's what Zantac is). It was VERY effective and I never had a problem again. In my opinion, Zantac is a great drug and it might well solve your problem. I was taking 150mg a day and it really helped. I was supposed to take it every day in perpetuity but after only like a week I never needed it again as the problem was solved. They said it was from poor eating habits that caused it.
Blood pressure isn't the best indicator of heart health if you're having pain. It's best to go to the doctor when it happens. If the Zantac doesn't help and it happens again, I would go to the doctor. You could also try stretching -- not when you're having pain, but just in general. Lie on your back and put your forearms on the floor and push your body up into the air. Also you can just put your palms together in front of your body and push them together. Those two exercises stretch your chest muscles which could be the problem if it's muscular. If it's acid, the Zantac will help as well as improved diet of course.
Anxiety can definitely cause chest pain -- my boyfriend has this. When he has anxiety, it manifests as pain in the left side of his chest, which scares the crap out of him (which I think is the point of anxiety, to scare us) and he has gone to the cardiologist a few times and always checks out okay.
Hang in there. I'm sorry to hear about the tropical storm! That sucks. You can't control the weather, but you can control what goes in your mouth!! :) That's a good thing! Have a good day :hug:
MustLose8269 08-10-08, 12:12 AM Hello everyone, well another succesful day. Now when Im tempted to cheat, I just ask myself, would eating that be worth dying for? lol...So that seems to be helping. My chest pain is a little better. Its my 2nd day taking the Zantec 75 & Im trying to reduce my stress as much as possible. Im going to give it a few days and if my chest continues to hurt, then I'll go to the doctor. But I got to thinking that I rode a rollercoaster w/this chest pain, so if it was heart probs I assume that would have made it hurt or something lol. I'll keep a watch though.

MustLose8269 08-10-08, 01:14 PM Hello everyone! Well I just woke up and felt like writing haha so here I am! I am 296.8 today! yay! I know I should weigh daily but its so tempting lol. Plus right now it keeps me motivated even more. My chest so far seems to be still improving altho last night my ankles got swollen as did my leg a bit...but I know once Im down about 40lbs or so it should stop. I'm so excited the biggest loser starts in Sept. Its always a great help to have that show to watch every week, by that point I will be weighing in weekly so that will be good.
I woke up today with alot more energy, since Ive been eating fresh fruits and veggies for the past few days. I had an orange and some slim fast for breakfast and omg, I really enjoyed that orange, so juicy and sweet! Its like the more fruit and veggies I eat, the more im craving them. I know Ive only been back on track a few days but still, this is the 1st time ive ever really just tried to change my eating all together. Noramlly its just slim fast and frozen dinners, or something ya know? Which frozen dinners can be a helpful dieting tool, but right now they have too much sodium for me lol. I'm also doing great on my water. I havent really done any exercising yet, but Im going to start walking monday, providing my chest is still improving. :)
Anyways I guess I'll go, I'll be back on tonight w/my calories.

A little update, my chest is no longer hurting. I dont know if the fact that my stress is less, Ive been eating healthier or the zantac helped it, or maybe it was all of the above lol. But none the less Im better, so yay! :D I am going to start working part time this comming week, not really b/c I need to b/c my hubby makes good money, but I just want to be doing something, and have some money of my own. BUT If the job makes it at all harder for me to lose weight I wont keep it. Its at subway, so thats a healthy place, for the most part lol. Big change from doing nursing work... (CNA) but since I only want something fast and PT, I just opted for that. For now. I plan on hitting the gym this comming week...getting that going, Im just going to do cardio at 1st.

First of all, congratulations on getting the weight back down. It sure is a great feeling isn't it. I gained last week because of several different factors but this morning am back down so very happy about that.
Good luck with your new job, its good that they have some good choices there, but remember you don't have to eat their food either. My DS works at a Subway also. I think he gets his subs for 1/2 price.
Anyways, keep up the good work!!!

MustLose8269 08-28-08, 03:34 PM Ok everyone, sorry for the delay in the posting, Ive had a bit of a rough past few days. I may be moving back to FL in the end of nov,early dec for a job opportunity, plus I hate texas, nothing against it mind you, I just miss home. So my hubby will stay here and work for another year and i'll be working in FL, living w/my best friend. So Im excited but its also very bittersweet b/c i'll miss my hubby, even tho we've had our share of marital probs. Oh also, my chest started hurting last night, so I figured it was time to go to the ER, so my hubby took me at 9pm and finally at 4 AM, I was done. None of is slept and he had to be at work at 530am, i felt so bad. Anyways they did an EKG and an xray, and determined, it wasnt my heart or lungs...that its GERD or hertburn/acid reflux plus stress, kinda like I had originally thought. So they gave me a percription. Im going to buy some Zantect 150 1st and see if that helps it, then if not i'll go get the perscription. I am so relieve its not a heart issue, I was so afraid it was, just b/c Ive had the pain on and off for a month ya know? Anywho so thats the story on that. Im going to have to cut back on my diet soda intake, which kinda sucks but i know its for the best.
Anywho heres how my cals went from the last day i wrote.
8/23-8/24: Over. I was intending on one cheat day, it turned out to be a weekend :(
8/25- A little better w/ 1816 Cals
8/26- 1630 Cals
8/27- 1579 cals
My weight as of today is: 290.6, so still losing just a bit slower due to my mess ups.

so thats my weekly weight from last week... I made it to the 80's! yay! :D
I did have a few mess up days but Im back on track.
Oh btw, I finally got my chest pain seen about, its just heartburn, so yay. Also
my legs and ankles had been swelling too so I went and had that checked out today and no blood clots fortunetly, its just adema from being overweight, and poor circulation, which sucks, but Im working on my problems. :D So my health probs right now are the swelling, acid reflux/heartburn, and polycystic ovary syndrom, all caused by my weight..and sometimes I am borderline highblood pressure, but when they checked my chest pain they looked at my heart and my lungs, and they are normal. so that eases my mind as well. so overall im healthy, just got a few probs here and there.
Also I am moving back to Fl in early december. My husband will be staying here in texas. I will be rooming with a friend of mine, hes my gay husband lol. We roomed together once before when i was 18. I will be working as well...the job there is a great opportunity. Plus I hate it here in Tx. My husband will be back to PCB about a year after me, it will be a HARD year being away from him but on the bright side, we've had a lot of probs in our marriage, so im thinking this year will make or break our marriage. Either way, I really wanna be down to at least 249/250 by the time I go, which is early dec, late november. So thats, 12 and a half/13 weeks away. I have roughly 40lbs to lose by then so that means i need to lose at least 3lbs a week to make it, I think thats totally doable. Anyways thanx everyone, who stops by....

Ok everyone, sorry its been a while since i posted. Im still holding steady at 289. I think I am at a plateua or was....then I got frustrated and havent been doing as good on my cals. But I havent gained so thats good. :)
Right now Im having to get all "hunkered down" for hurricane ike thats hitting us late tonight/early sat morning. We werent in the mandatory evac route, so we are staying here. Its a cat 2, but by the time it gets to us, it should be a 1. (we are about 1 hour from the gulf, so no worries of floodin really)
So anywho keep us in ur prayers. Thx! ttyl

So sept was a bust BUT new day, new month, the biggest losers just starting, so yay motivation! Plus I really gotta get my health in check. Bad news is im back up to 295... GRRR BUT im starting a new. So I'll check in here and keep everyone posted at least a few times a week. Im gonna be doing 3dd once every 2 weeks. Today was my 1st day. I'll let u know what my weight is tomm.

SarahJH22 10-01-08, 06:46 PM Hey there Mustlose, I was feeling a little down today and went to the journal section for some inspiration. though i am heavier than you, you are much closer to me than the i need to lose 20 pounds club. maybe we can help each other out. I have acid reflux and my diet makes a huge impact on it especially if I go from eating well to not eating well. a few days off the diet and I have a bad attack, (btw, I totally thought i was having a heart attack the first time) I am also a singer and the breathing churns up that acid, not fun. well it looks like you are off to a good start and its great to get to know you.
MustLose8269 10-16-08, 10:38 PM Ok ladies and few gents, lol....I have decided my biggest problem w/losing weight is exercising, so Ive hired a personal trainer! Yay! 1 year contract. Kinda expensive but way worth it. I see him twice a week, then the other 2/3 days a week I just do an hour of cardio. I started wed and WOW Im sore as heck today lol. I go back to him tommorrow but tommorrow we are going to do measurments and talk about my eating. Hes got me on 1200-1500 cals a day which is what I usually aim for. I have never had a work out like that in all my life, lol. I seriously felt like one of the biggest loser conestants, esp since I almost got sick haha. My weight is 294lbs. I will get it down this time.
Esp w/my new trainer's aid. My scale at home broke so I will be weighing in at the gym.

Snack: Plum- 150 cals
Dinner:
Easy mac cup of MacNcheese w/lite mayo: 400 cals
Snack:
100 cal candy bar (diet)
Im going to keep reporting my food and exercise so I can be accountable lol.
