Can we really have a stressless focused holiday ? With other pushing food at us and saying oh its christmas etc you have to splurge. All the funtion invited to etc scare me. I am determened not to gain but lose at thanksgiving and Christmas. I will not feel that I am deprived because of my new life style. I hope to find converstaion away from the Goodie table. My salvation will be not doing kitchen duty at any family function. I will not clear the table I will wash dishes after the food is cleared. Being a little selfish I also talked my family into keeping the day easier for everyone, I sugested waiting until Christmas to get together. After all we all have in laws and most of them live out of town. It is such a stress to have to make to many dinners in one day. Lucky for me they all liked my sugestion.
I got lucky for christmas too we are doing the Xmas thing the Saturday before christmas that way I can space and save points for each day.
Boy do I feel selfish but my life will be made healther for it less tempting events. Good luck to all angelmom

We are human :) All we can do is take one day at a time! One meal at a time! Today I can do this. ;)

Hi angelmom. I always enjoy your posts. I know you will do well during the holidays, you already have your mind made up. I hope I can be as strong. Pumpkin pie is my favorite!!!! The good thing is we are going out of town so there won't be any leftovers at home. Yea!!!

You are so determined to succeed Angelmom, I don't have any doubts about you! I know WW is helping you a lot and I am glad you found an answer to your weight problem. Your plans for Xmas and Thanksgiving sound great! Stick to them, I know you can! Don't feel like you are selfish, you are looking after number one! That can't be selfish hhehehe... :D

Take care!

YOU CAN DO IT ANGELMOM! You can make this Thanksgiving what ever you want it to be! My WW leader said today that we need to do it OUR WAY..and that's totally important. We dont have to feel that we dont have any choices, we do! When we take control, and do what is right for us, we dont have to look back with regrets and "oh i wish I'd have..or I should have....". We are worth our best efforts to make our dreams come true!

Peach, you reminded me of an Al-Anon, AA, OA saying that goes like this "when you think you don't have any choices, you are probaby operating out of your disease". Disease in this context being our "diseased" way of using food for medication or comfort or whatever reason we are over stuffing ourselves. I hear people say that all the time "I had no choice"....... we ALWAYS have choices!! You can choose to let someone else control what you eat this Thanksgiving or you can do the choosing! Myself, I'd rather make my own choices...... Your WW leader was right on the mark! Thanks for sharing that. We can all do okay if we keep in mind that feeling of success that we have when we're doing good. I'm going to focus on that feeling and hold on to it tight!

And Angelmom...... self care (taking care of yourself) isn't the same thing as selfish. Big difference and you aren't being selfish at all! You're doing good things for yourself.....

Here's to healthy and happy!
