You can't eat what you don't buy.

If it's not a round to be in your sight.
You won't think to take that first bite.

Plan your meals and snacks in advance.
Stick to the list buy nothing at a glance.

The kids will get use to the healthy snacks.
You are in charge they must face the facts.

We can't be tempted by what is not there.
It it's in the house we want it,is that fair.

Remember if you don't buy it you can't eat it
You will reach goal soon, with a thinner fit.
:) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Have a great OP day angelmom

wonderful thoughts angelmom and so true.....

unless you live in a house with a husband and teenage boys that buy it and bring it home themselves.....
no excuse for me eating it....but sometimes you cant keep it out of the house......
there are days when i think i need a second kitchen just for me :).

LOL 3sons.
So true. My huband is like that. He will bring in things here and there. But I always stick with the 80%/20% rule. If I want something, I won't deprive myself, because it backfires and has for me. But I won't let myself be taken over by it either. It sure helped me keep going through my weight loss jouney and keep it off. I think what helped was my husband ate a lot of the foods I did. And loved the crystal light with lemons in it. It made it easier when making the food how I wanted. And still does.
This was a great post. Especailly for those of us who have don't have the control we wish we had.
Take care everyone! :-)

I used to be one of those Mom's that would complain that I HAD to buy it for my kids..and we all know who really ate most of it! LOL
What Angelmom said was true..When it's in your house, you are gonna eat it! One of the ways I've found that helps is this...I buy the treats that don't "call to me", but my kids enjoy. If it's a food I cant resist..they eat it out..don't bring it in. My hubby is the worse saboteur..so he's the bad guy when it comes to bringin home the goodies..but I'll just have to keep on talkin with him and reminding him, that just cause he's not fat...doesn't mean we shouldn't eat better foods for our health. Good Luck to us all!

I totally agree,

but what do you say when they ask , "where are the chips" or " why isn't there anything to eat"?

It seems like every time I turn around they are saying "I'm Hungry". Does anyone else have this problem? It would really soothe my mind if you did. Especially, if you had any suggestions.

Thanks,
Sandyh

Sandy,

This works for me: Individually wrapped snacks! I can stay out of them, or only eat one serving if I slip. And also buying things they like that aren't my favorites. I never buy my favorites. Also, try getting a breadbox or something to put the snacks in so they are out of your site when you open your cupboard.

Great poem Angelmom! :)

I don't buy anything I know I should not eat. Out of sight out of mind!

That is a good one. LOL Buy something you don't like to much. I do that with my husband. He likes to have a cherry pie, I would rather have the apple pie. So I usually get the cherry pie.
And having the portions bagged out really helps to. You know you are eating a portion and not 3 portions.

Do what works for you!!!
