Hi just a new twist on this old subject.I am adopted both my parents are slim and never overfed me.I was a fat baby and a plump child a overweight teen and then I lost from 240 to 150.Did I maintain? No I used the Herbalife and almost died and when I ate over 750cals I gained.try for a day to eat that little it aint easy.My point?I, getting there I went to 250lbs and then needed medication for PTSD I gained fast anouther 100lbs and yes I do overeat now but why when I was growing up with no real fattening food was i fat?The answer is genentics I found my birth family three weeks ago and guess what they are all significantly overweight. Now I think thats enough proof for me anyone else agree?I have depression.Fibromyalgia,asthma/allergies,sleep apnea, hip and back disability, chronic pain and take over 14 medications to stay on a somewhat comfortable life.I dont know if I will lose weight but I do know I will help many others and that makes my heart very light and puts my head in the clouds.Hugs Slowpoke

Congratulations Slowpoke on finding your 'biological' family. And now you KNOW one of the very most important reasons why you are 'overweight' (whatever that is). Biology, genetics and physiology. My best advice to you while you are getting to know your 'new' family is to also get to know yourself, and learn to love yourself JUST THE WAY YOU ARE. Take care and ENJOY!
