Hey John --

How do you break out of a slump, when you just can't seem to break out of it? I have been trying to restart my diet and exercise program, but I am currently in a heavy work/school/etc mode right now and admitedly am burning both ends of the candle. I know that's not a good thing, but I have no choice and am trying to graduate and work at the same time. No other choice at the moment. I just can't seem to find the motivation.

Any suggestions? All welcome...Dan <IMG SRC="smilies/sigh.gif" border="0">

Most of the time, I exercise in the morning when I get up. Its a good time because it can help keep up your metabolism all day.

When I don't exercise in the morning, I exercise in the evening (or sometimes both depending on how much I ate during the day).

I also tend to be very busy as well but I have made a commitment to something that I just won't give up on. That is a commitment to reach goal. You just have to make time for it.

Hey John,

Not too many guys posting these days? Well, I'll be around for a while (I still have a lot of weight to loose).

Also, A big HELLO to all of the ladies who like to peek in on the "Guys" forum (you know who you are :o ).

Tenorboy - Don't wait until your life slows down to take care of yourself. Your health MUST be a priority. You have to start today (right now!). There will always be some excuse not to do it (always). Putting it off will only make it worse (take it from me). First, if you don't already have one, find a diet plan/workout routine you enjoy (well...don't hate). There are a lot of them around, plus, the good folks here at DietTalk have lots of excellent ideas on things you can try. Second, (and most important) make the plan/routine part of your daily schedule (just like work and school). Trying to workout and eat right when you have some free time will never work.

Hope this helps,

Jim

I agree Jim... we have to make a commitment to lose weight and it has to be near the top of your list otherwise its like cleaning out your garage.. it just won't clean itself.
