I am new to this website but I have found it to be very interesting and helpful. I have changed my eating habits and put myself on a workout program. I have always been big, but I played football in high school and college so it was pretty much acceptable. I'm in my late 20's and I don't want to have health problems later in life. Sometimes people don't believe how much I weigh because I have a lot of muscle mass through lifting weights when I was playing ball. Now, I am not lifting weights, strictly cardiovascular and aerobic workouts along with push ups (about 100 a day). Does anyone have any suggestions for me? I am not on any particular plan except for lower caloric and fat intake with regular exercise. Thanks.

Hey big...your story struck a chord with me. I, too, played football for years and was left with a lot of muscle mass accompanied by a lot of mass that wasn't muscle (offensive lineman) I'm older than you (38) and would urge you to keep up the daily exercise. I think that along with keeping an eye on calorie intake and you'll be fine. My problem - I did neither and now have a LOT of excess weight and two bad knees to show for my work on a football field. Lots of luck! Post often - good to see other guys getting "out and about!"
GOOOOOOOO JACKETS!! STING 'EM!
Hey!<br />Welcome to diettalk. You sound a lot like me. I'm also in my late 20's (I'm 28) and I don't want to face my 30th's having to worry about health problems. Your diet and exercise plan sounds great. 100 pushups that's great I can't even do one.
I know this section is for the guys, but I thought I'd drop a note just to introuce myself and welcome you to our DT family.
Have you have a chance to check out the chat room? I find them to be wonderful for extra support.
good luck!
